We bought the 8th Edition and I was trying to use it to review concepts and to practice, but the format was awful and the way they explained everything was so unnecessarily complicated. I didn't get past Chapter 1 with this test prep book. I ended up scoring a 5 on the AP Stats exam but if I'd used this as my main tool, I probably wouldn't have scored that well. I thought Barron's materials was supposed to be good! Don't know what happened here with this one!

a plot so good i cried for the entire thing! the enemies to lovers trope that t and z had going on amazed me. but the χ^2 distribution was my favorite character by far.

anyways mr percy claims that the average score his students get on the ap exam is a 4. i believe the true mean score is lower. i took a srs of 31 ap stats students in his class and calculated the mean score was 3.1 with a sample standard deviation of 0.4 points. is there convincing evidence that the true mean score is lower than 4?

STATE: μ = the true mean score on the ap stats exam for mr percy’s students
Ho: μ=4
Ha: μ<4
α= 0.05
xbar=3.1
Sx= 0.4

PLAN:
Random: the students were randomly selected
Independent: 31<0.1(all mr percy’s ap stats students
Normal: 31>30 CLT says approx normal

DO:
1 SAMPLE T TEST FOR MEANS
μo: 4
xbar:3.1
Sx: 0.4
n:31
μ < μo

t=-12.53
p=0

CONCLUDE: Because our p-value is less than 0.05, we reject the null. We do have convincing evidence that the true mean score on the ap exam for mr percy’s students is less than 4.
