Dr. Verion Morrick is complicated. No, really. Not too long ago, Verion was simply a divorced research scientist on Frost Veil who wanted to reconnect with his estranged son. Now, a few years, one death and resurrection later, Verion is a new person -- both Death, the Crellic Element, and Verion Morrick. One being that helped protect the galaxy from an insidious evil.
With the war over, Verion isn't sure where he belongs, but there is one thing he is sure of. His fated life mate is an adorable gentle giant named Valentine Philbert.
Val isn't a complicated man. He spends his days working in maintenance and taking care of his teenage son. He has his friends and his family, and never thought to want more. He believed his chance at a lasting love died along with his wife years ago. Then he met Verion and knew the delicious scent of his mate immediately. In the midst of a galactic war, Val had to put their happiness on hold, but now the war is over, and Val wants his mate.
Unfortunately, the path to happiness isn't always easy. The citizens of Charybdis Station aren't quite sure what to make of Death now that they don't need him anymore. Can a weapon of war and a gentle maintenance man find their happily ever after?
Author's Note: 38,000 words. This is a m/m sci-fi/fantasy romance story with mpreg and a HEA. There is a little action and a lot of love included. 18+ readers only, please. It is also book one in a new series, Charybdis Station which is a spin-off series of The Blue Solace. It is best read after The Blue Solace.
I have been self-publishing since October 2018. My books are extremely light and fluffy m/m romance with mpreg, and while they span a few subgenres of romance, they have similar themes of found family and love at first sight. Besides writing, I enjoy reading everything I can get my hands on, especially m/m romance. My personal favorites are mpreg, sci-fi, fantasy, and paranormal.
I didn't know about the previous series when I started reading this book, so until I realized that all of the characters were from other books, I was a little overwhelmed with all of the introductions. This is definitely it's own series, but I do think it would help to keep track of everyone if you read the Blue Solace series first.
This was a fluffy sci-fi mm romance and I enjoyed it. The 2 MCs are opposites of each other, but they work, and I think it would be seriously fun to live in their neighborhood with the variety of species and pets that they have running around.
Overall this was a fun, quick read and I'm looking forward to reading book 2.
Val, sweet Val, do you really think Verion isn't going to make you his? You sweet, summer child. This is a great spin off of the Blue Solace series featuring two interesting characters from the original series. I liked that the author explored the flip side of being Death, which is a lot a people are afraid o you rightfully or not. For a shorter book, it packs in a lot of story! And a lot of pets!!
A binge-worthy and fast-paced MM fated mates story that's scifi with some fantasy themes. I finished The Blue Solace series and didn't want to leave the universe so I jumped straight into this series, Charybdis Station. You've got lots of engaging character development in this one, plus intrigue and the occasional action/suspense scene. We finally get to see Death and his story with new characters and companions. It's a feel-good one.

This long awaited book melted my heart. I cried, smiled, laughed and even got frustrated right along with the characters. Death/Veri has been one of my favorites to begin with, so watching him and Val while they built something so beautiful, was a pleasure for me. I'm eagerly awaiting Fire's book. I just want to hug that adorable little element. But I must admit Death holds a special place in my fave book list.
I realize that there are a lot of characters in this universe that excel at hubris, but how could anyone with half an idea of Verion's powers ever think that threatening him, or his family, could turn out well for them? Needless to say, I thought that their fate was just, and I love that Death's family was in no way a weakness for them to exploit.
I can't wait for Fire's book, and to meet whoever can be his mate.
I was eagerly waiting for this book! Not only this was an extention of the Charybdis Station, but this is the story of Val and Death/Verion Morrick. Their story itself was an adventure already. The uncertainties, the longings, hope, love and some action. I really love their story, and their adorable children, especially Seshi. Oh, Sechi.. I'm in love with his POV at the epilogue. Can't wait to read more books from this universe and any books the author would release.
I am loving spending more time on Charybdis Station. This is the first in a spin off series from The Blue Solace. I adore every last one of these characters and of course we catch up with many of our old friends in this book. It was sweet getting to know Val better as we haven't seen much of him in previous books. These are all super lovey quick reads that I definitely recommend in that's what you're in the mood for.
Jöhet a hóbortos Tűz!
I knew I was going to enjoy this. Death/Verion gets his happily ever after and it is just beautiful to watch unfold. Val is a gentle soul and he loves Veri with no reservations. I loved watching Veri stumble his way to a love that is more than all the starfish in the sky!
This book was just...meh. It really felt like nothing much happened, and it just plodded along. It was like being dropped into a story 3/4 of the way through - the love story was mostly underway, there were lots of references to past events, and so many characters to remember. Maybe there’s books I’m supposed to have read before this one, but I won’t be rushing to read them.
This book was sooo good. I always hoped Death would get his HEA and Val was so worth his wait. As always C W brought it all, love, jealousy, a Title action and lots of animals. ❤️❤️❤️
Fun to see Death finally get his happy ever after! Sweet little story, no fuss and lots of funny moments. Another enjoyable CW Grey read. I’d advise reading the first series to get background characters though.
This was a great spinoff and a wonderful start to a new series. I loved Val, the big lovable softie. Veri was just so clueless at times but he meant well and you could understand why he was like that. I can't wait for the next book in this seies.
Absolutely amazing world! Love this world this station and this giant family. Feels like your right there with them! Veir and Val were an amazing couple, just so much love.
I have enjoyed every character from the Blue Solace crew and Charybdis Station from the very first book. I've loved following along with each of them as they found their mates and saved their world. There's still a few to come and I'm waiting anxiously for them.
👍🏻 I just finished reading DEATH’S MATE. I had been waiting for this first book of C W Gray’s new spin off series and was so excited when I saw that it had been released! I was not disappointed. Now, I’m waiting for Book 2!😊
So much fun!!! Death has a heart and gets told!!! I love how they handled the jerky king! Pet battle royale and baby racing!!! Such fun…laughter and tears but so much love!
I loved this story I didn’t know how it was gonna play out with veri also being death but it was nice and I really liked Val for Veri all in all great story
