Hope Mitchell lived her life on the outskirts, no attachments, no friends, no family. All of this by design. All of it because she knew the pain that came when you lost someone who meant something to you. She’d sworn off men long ago, the last time she fell in love she’d invited the devil into her heart and she’d lost, huge. That was to say, she knew better than to let the larger-than-life Delta Force operator into her life. Hope recognized the risk but Beau had promised her he would fight for her and he did—until he left her more broken than he found her.
Beau “Jangles” Talbot had promised himself he wouldn’t fall for a woman while he was still in the Army. He’d seen it too many times before—a good woman getting worn down by the demands of being a military wife. But when he meets the gorgeous bartender Hope Mitchell, he does the unthinkable and falls in love. Then his worst nightmare comes to fruition and Hope is thrown into a dangerous situation because of him and his teammates.
One mission—five women—everything is on the line. Jangles and his teammates have one shot at getting it right, one chance at extraction, or every man on his team loses the women they love.
** Hope's Delta is the 5th and final book in the Delta Team Three Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.
Riley Edwards is a Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestselling author, wife, and military mom. Riley was born and raised in Los Angeles but now resides on the east coast with her fantastic husband and children.
Riley writes heart-stopping romance with sexy alpha heroes and even stronger heroines. Riley's favorite genres to write are romantic suspense and military romance.
I wouldn't expect any less then a five star read when I know Riley Edwards is the author, and this book didn't disappoint.
Hope and Beau started has friends with benefits, but grew into more. Neither totally opened up about their lives or their pasts, but Beau near there was something about Hope's past that was holding her back from a real relationship. She learned that he was serious about her, so she decided to let him. He promised to never let her go, until. She now was in danger because of him.
Awesome read. Full of twists, turns, loyalty, friendship, love , and lust. Also with cameos from the Operation Alpha family.
The one thing that Hope has learnt from her painful past is that she isn’t going to let anyone get close enough to her to be hurt in that way again. She may be attracted to Beau, but she was determined to keep their interactions strictly physical and she was sticking to her plan until she finds herself in danger because of their relationship.
Beau was attracted to Hope from their first meeting, and he has enjoyed the time they have spent together. He doesn’t believe that his career is conducive to a relationship however there is something about him that has him yearning for more. When his career places her in danger there isn’t anything he won’t do to rescue her.
This is an emotional story about two people who believe they are destined to be alone until a life changing experiences forces them to realize what is truly important in life.
Hope’s Delta is the 5th and final book in the Delta Team Three series by Riley Edwards (new to author) and various authors and is part of the Operation Alpha World, Delta Team Two series by Susan Stoker.
The final book in this series is about Beau ‘Jangles’ Talbot and Hope Mitchell and OMG what a way to end this series! So much is happening...kidnapping all the ladies, rescue mission back in Turkey with the help of Delta Team Two and a few others, dealing with the past, hope for the future, heartbreak, forgiveness, healing, love and HEA!
Thank you, Lori Ryan, Becca Jameson, Lynne St. James, Elle James and Riley Edwards for such amazing alpha men and strong beautiful ladies and the entwining stories...they all deserve more stars!
At the start of this one Hope and Beau both seemed to be deluding themselves on having a relationship. I was glad that Beau at least realized it was more and he did something about it. He was slowly getting Hope over to that side when things went to hell and the girls were kidnapped. Even then they were ok, it was only after everyone was safe that Beau did the stupid thing that almost ruined everything. I liked how the guys on his team and their women all ripped him a new one over his actions. He wounded Hope to the core and he was going to have a hard time winning her back. He managed to do it, but not before both of them lived through rough times. I did like how this one ended for these 2, they deserved all the happiness they could find.
Jangle’s is the final Delta to find himself a woman😁 I loved this story as included each and every single couple we’ve already been introduced to in this series and especially loved the ending❣️
I only have one question and that is whether their commanding officer Roe will get a book of his own, as he was certainly a mysterious supporting character😳
Another wonderful story and thoroughly enjoyed it❤️
Yikes! What a magnificent series wrap-up! Hope's Delta is the final book of this series and honestly, I was sad to reach the end. Ms. Edwards has provided readers with a well-written book. The characters are fun to read and you just gotta love them. Hope is a bartender and lives alone, no family or friends except her boss. Beau is another member of Delta Team 3. After hooking up with Hope for weeks, he wants to bring things out in the open. Before that can happen, Hope is kidnapped along with all the other Delta Team 3 girlfriends. Beau and Hope's story is loaded with drama, humor, sexy bits, action and suspense. I loved this book and the final chapter of the book just makes it more special. Hope's Delta is book 5 of the Special Forces: Operation Alpha/Delta Team Three Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from a third party. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is the finale book in this multi author series. Wow what a fabulous job by Riley Edwards in wrapping up the series. So full of heart, action, angst, healing and finding themselves. Hope and Beau have a complicated yet simple relationship and she brings these characters to life. Definitely a recommend read along with the rest of the series. I received a free copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review
Hope and Jangles was a will they, won’t they romance from the beginning and not in the usual sense of Will they won’t they actually get together it was more a will they won’t they make a really relationship of this fun thing they have going??
This was the best of the bunch. I hurt for Hope. All that guilt she'd been carrying for so many years. I loved Beau. I got a chuckle out of their names because I was an avid Days of our Lives fan. I liked that this book took the time to see life AFTER a traumatic event. I even found myself liking the previous characters more when this author was writing them into this story.
The epilogue was PERFECT. It tied up the series in a beautiful way.
This series is part of the Operation Alpha World, Delta Team Two series by Susan Stoker.
Hope is the bartender in the bar where the team hangs out. Her and Beau have been f*ck buddies for a while. He wants more but she doesn't. She really annoyed me with all her excuses. True love of course wins in the end.
Now that epilogue....the absolute best. It starts with Hope and Beau, and then skips a few years to another couple, then skips to the next couple, then skips forward to the next couple until we wind up 20 something years in the future with the last couple. So GOOD!
Hope's Delta by Riley Edwards is the final book in this amazing collaborative series. This story was full of emotion, love and angst as we follow the journey of Beau (Jangles) part of the Delta Team 3. Jangles is drawn to sexy, sassy Hope the first time he meets her at the bar she works at. They instantly have a friends with benefits relationship, but soon Jangles wants more as he tells Hope that when she is with him she is to call him Beau. Now he has to convenience Hope to break down her walls as he wants to come out to his friends and make their relationship known. Hope Mitchell is haunted by her past because of a poor decision she made thinking she found love, only to lose her parents by the hands of her boyfriend, defending herself to take out the problem and in the end losing her brother who blamed her for losing his family ending his life. With no family or friends she starts over in a small town in Texas is befriended by BF who gives her a home and job at his bar and teaches her many life skills. When Beau tells Hope that he is all in and wants a life with her she finally tells him about her past and what she has done but in order for her to give into Beau's demands she asks one thing of him to never let her go or leave her. Now these two begin a loving relationship that is full of steamy moments as these two are on they way of building something meaningful and special. Soon Hope's world is shattered when she along with the other four girlfriends of the men from Delta Team are kidnapped and taken to Turkey by the man they thought they killed who is now seeking revenge for his son and brother. Now we have a suspenseful daring rescue as Beau is tormented that Hope has been taken as well as his brothers who are desperate to get to the women they love in time. Hope locked in a room finds herself bonding with the other women as they wait for their men but Hope finds she will make the ultimate sacrifice to save the women and their men as she takes matters into her own hands. What transpires next is violent and deadly as Beau learns what Hope was able to achieve he takes a shaken traumatized Hope away to take care of her. While caring for her, he decides that he needs to let her go, as he can't live with the fear that he could lose her again due to his work with the military. Hope can tell that Beau is going to end things with her, as she is left heartbroken and in pain she tells him he doesn't need to explain any further to just leave her alone. Now Hope in pain shuts everyone out and decides its better if she moves away.
Now we have Beau who is drinking away his problems for hurting Hope, destroying his home to erase the memories he shared with her will have his friends intervene as they tell him he needs to get his woman back and makes things right as they tell him he can't live his live his life in fear and give up on love worrying about putting her in danger as love has a way of making both of the stronger to handle what ever comes their way as long as they are together. Finally Beau sees the error of his way and tries to make things right with Hope, but she won't have any part of it as she told him he has broken her and lied to her about never giving her up or leaving him. Beau with the resources he has will track Hope down until she gives him another chance but she will not forgive him. So Beau keeps his distance to give her the space she needs by watching her from afar so he will know where she is trying to start over. In order for her to heal she goes to the one last person left, her grandmother but doesn't get the forgiveness she sought as she is cruel and lashes out to Hope telling her she is nothing to her, especially when she sees that Beau is right by her side standing up for Hope. Crying and on the verge of a panic attack, Beau comforts her and tells her it's time to let all of this go and come home to him. Once she sees the new home that Beau has purchased for her, she soon learns that the only person she needed to forgive was her self and with this revelation she is finally able to heal and move on as Beau and her will try once again with a promise he never leaves her they will deal with the pain and heartache from the past through love and forgiveness as they look towards the future to begin a life together one that they fought so hard to achieve. Loved how all of the other couples have come full circle as the Epilogue shows each couple having a life full of love and devotion as they have built growing families together with undying love as well as the continued bond that each member of the Delta Team 3 has for each other, one that will endure for a lifetime. Hope's Delta is a must read by Riley Edwards and I suggest you read the other books about each couple by Lori Ryan, Becca Jameson, Lynne St. James, Elle James to get a better understanding of the love these alpha man and their strong, independent woman have for each other. This is must read and sad that this series of outstanding books has come to an end.
Hope’s Delta. It’s the newest book by Riley Edwards. It’s also the final book in the Delta Team 3 books. This is a series of 5 stand-alone/interconnecting books that are based in Susan Stoker’s Special Forces world. I’m sure you’ve heard me mention this world before...where authors write books including characters from Susan Stoker’s books in their stories?? No? Well, we’ll get back to that later. Right now it’s time for you to pack a bag…
Who’s ever gone to an amusement park? Disney? Six Flags? Cedar Point? Dollywood? I don’t know about you, but I both love and hate these types of places. You get a cornucopia of ride choices that you know are going to wring different reactions and emotions out of you. Now I haven’t been to an amusement park in a while but I still remember those reactions and feelings. And Riley Edwards has a way of duplicating these feelings with her books. Hope’s Delta is another shining example.
From the beginning of the book, Ms. Edwards doesn’t start off soft. Watching Beau come to the realization that somehow his relationship with Hope has morphed into something more is like riding a tilt-o-whirl. You don’t know which way you're going to be thrown and the anticipation and excitement are paramount. From there, learning about Hope’s past and the anguish she deals with on a daily basis? That’s the Tower of Terror. That build-up you have, knowing that there’s going to be an epic drop leaving you with a queasy stomach and lightheadedness. You’re scared because you know it’s coming but you still power through. After that ride, we all usually want easy. The Ferris Wheel, the Merry-Go-Round...something like that. Where we can just enjoy the sights and smells of the park. This is Hope coming out of her shell and asking Beau to show her beauty because she’s never had that. She wants to feel what it’s like to walk in the light.
So we’ve gone through a couple of the rides and think maybe we’re done for the day. But Riley Edwards never stops with her push for more for the reader. She’s that friend that’s encouraging you to go on one last ride. The mother of all rides at an amusement park...the roller coaster. This is the action, the suspense; the edge of your seat time in the book where we bite our nails and cover our eyes. We know it’s going to be epic. And we are not disappointed. But the ups and downs of this ride? They’re a doozy.
Through this all Riley Edwards gives us...well, Riley Edwards. The all-encompassing story of love and loss. The camaraderie of friendship and brotherhood. The authenticity of real characters. Riley Edwards gives us all of this and more. So, so much more.
If you’ve never taken a spin in Susan Stoker’s Special Forces World or read a Riley Edwards book this is a fantastic place to start. Take time. Read the book. Fall into this world. You’ll find a place you’ll never want to leave.
This book was so amazing and such a wonderful wrap up to the series. I could not put this book down once I started it, I was immediately engrossed in Beau ‘Jangles’ Talbot and Hope Mitchell’s story. These two were two halves of the same whole and that is definitely what they did – make each other whole.
From Hope’s tragic past she still carries around guilt and pain every single day and will never let herself forget. In her eyes, she does not deserve to be happy or to have dreams come true so if things start going good for her all she has to do is remember and sink back into her past to remind herself why she cannot be happy, why she deserves the pain and guilt she carries. She has also completely sworn off men aside from carefree hookups, there’s no getting to know you conversations or meaningful talks of any kind, no feelings or attachments.
Beau Talbot being a Delta Force operative has seen the worst of the worst and has the scars on his soul. He’s seen the fallout from tragedies when loved ones are notified and team members do not return home. He’s made a promise to himself that he would never get that involved in a relationship, would never have someone care that much, or have them waiting at home for that possible call. What he did was dangerous and he never wanted to accidentally put an innocent in harm’s way because of his job or have to suffer his loss. That’s why the secret ‘friends with benefits’ arrangement he had with Hope worked for them both. Neither asked questions, make promises, or worried about tomorrow – it was all in the now, no attachments. However, when their relationship starts to change and danger finds its way to his door grave errors are made that can potentially end everything for good.
The push-pull relationship these two have will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat and the fallout from mistakes made just about wrecked me. The entire book is emotional and gritty, but this is just heartbreaking. There is plenty of action, suspense, drama, romance, and emotional entanglements to keep you interested and some well-placed witty banner and laughs to balance out the rollercoaster ride.
We also get the added pleasure of looking into the future with all the team and their families at the end of the book and this book and series could not have had a better ending! It was an absolutely fabulous adventure!
A little intro: Hope's Delta, Book Five is an explosive "finale", wrapping up the previous four books in the Delta Team 3 series. It can be read alone, but I really really recommend you read the whole series. You Will thank me. I cannot stress how much I love all five books and how well they work together. Having five different authors gives each character a totally unique voice and personality within the same Susan Stoker universe we all love. It's a ride you won't want to end. A woman who has sworn off men due a bad past experience versus a man who has sworn off women so as not to hurt them due to the effects of having a dangerous job. Sounds like all the negatives cancel out and they make a perfect match:) This story introduces us to Hope, a bartender at the Delta's favorite hangout the Ugly Mug and Beau "Jangles", a super hunky Delta operator. They are in a secret relationship from the beginning-but an...ahem.. strictly no-strings, friends-with-benefits one. It's entertaining "watching" them struggle to keep their relationship simple when in actuality they are fighting the inevitable. Stubborn idiots, both of them. Their individual agony, emotions literally drip off the page. But it's interesting to follow their journey-especially when the secrets they both keep are serious (hers deadly serious). Now add to the mix a bad guy from one of the previous books being alive, a team that has been compromised, and all the team's women starting to go missing one by one... Wow.. And the Delta's response says it all: "...you're goddamn right there's gonna be a bloodbath...when we're done the world will be a better place, one less piece of s**t breathing..." I think that quote says it all. READ THIS BOOK!!!! I received an ARC and was happy to review this book.
Ok so this is book 5 in the Delta Team 3 series set in Susan Stoker's world. This is a multi author series, so be aware when going to look for the other books that they are written by different author's. And while this book is part of a series, it can absolutely be read as a stand alone and completely understand everything that happens. Now with me saying that, I would absolutely read the other books before this one just because some things are alluded to in this one that take place in the previous books. In this one we get Beau 'Jangles' Talbot and Hope Mitchell's story. It starts off with us realizing that Jangles and Hope are in a "secret" (not so secret) no strings relationship. But that has changed for both of them, and it leaves them trying to figure out how to move forward. But first they both have to work past their own issues. And try to stay safe when someone from the past comes knocking in the present.
I admit, I really wanted Jangles story just from the glimpses I had seen of him in the other books, and this book in no way disappoints! Hope is dealing with not only a pain that I can't even comprehend but a whole lot of guilt to go along with it. And while I understand it, it does break your heart. Especially when you find out how other's dealt with the things that happened-then if you are like me, you might get angry at those others! Jangles is definitely the alpha, protective, and loving man that we all know and want. But he is also human and makes mistakes that he has to learn from. Throughout most of the book I loved him, and then there is that section where I wish I could reach in there and shake the crap out of him! But that is also what draws you in and keeps you reading from start to finish. I couldn't put it down. There are so many emotions in this one and then you throw in the action and suspense on top of that, and it was fantastic! Loved it!
Beau “Jangles” Talbot, member of Delta Team #3, is the last man in his team to find his “forever girl”. Beau doesn’t think he has what it takes to make a relationship work. He has a nice arrangement going with Hope, the bartender where he and his team go to relax after a mission. They are strictly friends with benefits. When he’s away on a mission, Hope stays at his apartment and takes care of his cat. When he returns, she’s a willing participant in bed. If she wants to leave, she has a RV she calls home. It’s easy, until Beau starts wishing for more. No more “hiding” his relationship with Hope and no more of her living in a tiny RV.
Hope Mitchell made decisions in her past that led to devastating results. Hope lays the blame squarely on her shoulders for the actions of an abusive ex. The only family she has left has disowned her. As a result, she is convinced that she doesn’t deserve a HEA. Beau is on his way to fully convincing her that he will always have her back when she’s kidnapped by a terrorist. His team is sent on a successful rescue mission, but he abruptly ends their fledging relationship the moment they return stateside. Leaving Hope more broken than before...
While I thoroughly enjoyed EVERY novel in this series, this was my favorite! Beau screwed up royally and had to work really hard to get Hope’s trust back. It was an emotional, devastating, page-turner, with a HEA. This is a story about healing and moving forward in life. The epilogues were FANTASTIC!!! I loved seeing how each family moved beyond the Delta Team while maintaining life-long friendships. I also loved the Beau & Hope reference from DAYS. I highly recommend this series to everyone! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
Overall Amanda rating: A+ My first opinion is that this series ended very well. This book did not disappoint. I think that the author did a very good job of bringing to life this storyline that we either totally missed in the first few books or maybe the authors wanted us to. From the very beginning, I was a huge fan of Hope, even though her character was very minimal. To see an entire book dedicated to her getting her happy ever after was quite refreshing. I loved her character Arc, her passion, her drive, and the spunk. I love that she refused to depend upon anyone. I also loved her relationship with BF. As for Beau... that boy and I need to have some words. You don't promise to never leave and then leave within the next few chapters. What kind of human does that?? A very selfish one. One that truly didn't know that he loved or, or was just that scared of losing her he chose to push her away. As for their names "Beau and Hope" really? And the reference to DOOL? That was a bit over the top. Now for the actual plot/storyline I think that the climax, the antagonist, the relationships with the other members of the Delta team, the return to the caves, the return to the beginning, and the ending were all so very well written I could not put the book down. The end of the antagonist was poetic justice. Although I hated that she had to take another life, at the same time it just proves that once again Hope is the strong one. Overall I think this series scored 7/10 for me. It was very well written, It took me back to the Susan Stoker world, some books are better than others, and the ending brought completion. I hope that I can remember that I even read these books here in the next few months after reading more.
Simply wow! A stunning, heart stopping rollercoaster ride of raw, gritty emotion that I could not put down. Hope's Delta by Riley Edwards is the 5th and final book in the Delta Team Three series from the Operation Alpha World of Susan Stoker. The story of Beau 'Jangles' Talbot and Hope Mitchell is Ms Edwards at her best. Hope knows the pain and guilt of a tragic past, she carries it with her every single day. She exists she doesn't live, she knows getting involved with a man can never be for her, the price is too much that's why the secretive 'friends with benefits' relationship she started with gorgeous operator Beau is perfect - no strings, no feelings, just great sex. Beau wanted Hope from the moment he met her, he thought their easy relationship was enough but something has changed and he wants more. Mired in 12 years of guilt Hope knows the risk of more, truly believes she is not worthy of love no matter how tempted she is by Beau, but he keeps pushing, promising he'll never leave and as Hope's amour begins to crack she starts to just maybe believe she can live in the light. Then Beau's worst nightmare happens and his job puts Hope at risk, he can't control his fears and the fallout destroys them both. I have to say this part of the story just about broke my heart. How can Beau and Hope ever climb out of the despair and heartbreak and learn to love and trust again? Riley Edwards superbly puts you through the emotional wringer in this action-packed story, as well as supplying some welcome humour and of course heat! Her perfectly imperfect characters worm their way into your heart (as they always do), Hope so weighed down by her past is a survivor and so much stronger than she believes and Beau, a protective alpha to his core is also human and flawed, like me you will be desperately, absolutely rooting for them to make it work. All of Delta Team Three and their partners play their part in the story and Susan Stoker's Tex, Ghost and Delta Team Two also make always welcome guest appearances plus the added bonus of an extended epilogue looking into the future for the team. I loved this story, it met and exceeded all my expectations and I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This final story in the Delta Team Three series is at times heartbreaking and at others heartwarming. Hope Mitchell’s story is finally told. We’ve met her as the bartender at the Ugly Mug, where the Team meets when in town. But she’s much more than that. She’s kept her heart wrenching past a secret but it’s one that has molded her to the woman she’s today . A woman filled with guilt and feeling not worthy. Beau/Jangles Talbot, one of the team members, and Hope started out as a secret friends with benefits, but feelings have developed. Feelings Beau is wanting to expand . But he too fears commitment , because being married to a military man, especially a Delta Force member, is not for the faint of heart. When during deployment the worse case scenario occurs and all the women are in danger, the effects of that destroy them. Will they be able to crawl out of the despair and find trust, hope, and love once again, or will that be the end of the relationship? Truly a story that will touch your hearts. A reminder that our past does in fact mold our present and possibly our future. The reader will also get a chance to spend time with the five Delta Force members and their significant others. A bonding few experience. Though I personally would have rather had a more condensed epilogue with less years into the future, the author did a marvelous job in wrapping up the series with a very special final story. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
i have to compare this author to the olympic medley swimteam...you save the best to bring home the bacon. what a way to round up the series. Riley edwards you are the bomb.! even though I've said previously, i prefer more action, there was more romance in this plotline but unlike the earlier novels with their romance plots, Riley's romance entertwines a degree of gut wrenching, tear at your heart strings that pulls you in more than the romance parts in the books 1-3. (book 4 was more action than love. ) which was close to Riley on the "loved it" score. so while we move through the steam, hotness, love and alphas, I was emotionally pulled into the back story. then we get delta team 2 in on the action. it's such a happy dance time for me hearing all of my faves come to life again. it was an awesome way to bring the previous men and women into the fray. And then (fist pump) you, wonderful Riley...Tex joins the story and you get little summary remainders from the start of the series. And the action...Game On!!! jangles was awesome and had his work cut out for him with hope but he's moved up a notch on my ladder. I'm just so excited about this final book and i hadnt listened to the previous authors before, so I patiently listened my way through them waiting for, in my opinion, the best...the closer.! and with all my favourite characters in play...what a dream. the epilogue touched off, closed off and sounded off...smiles in this camp. great series.thankyou to all authors oh and the narrator's..just perfect as always, wonderfully done!
This read should come wth a warning as I couldn’t keep up with the tissues needed to finish this read. Last but certainly not least, the final Delta, Beau aka Jangles, gets his story and it is NOT to be missed, even if you didn’t read the others. Jangles and Hope have been secretly having steamy times w/o anyone on the team knowing for months, both don’t want the complications commitment would entail and Hope has her own demons that has her shying away from happiness. When Jangles realizes that Hope means more to him than a warm body, he convinces Hope to take a chance with him and promises to never let go and keep pushing her....until danger has her and the other women in the clutches of a man intent on revenge on all the Delta team men...will Beau keep his promise. Holy smokes...oh boy...oh man...this read levelled me, had tears rolling down my face and going through tissues throughout the read. Beau and Hope....what a pair....can’t express how much I LOVED these two and how Hope stands up for herself and has Beau proving his love and keeping his promise of not letting go when it counted. An amazing read with steam...ahem...steam....heartache and heartbreak, action, suspense, love, friendship, flowing beautifully without skipping a beat and an epilogue that encompasses all the Delta men and women in the future....WHAT A READ!!!!! *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is book five in the Delta Team Three series a multi author series set in Susan Stokers world and I have to tell you I absolutely love how all of the book for the entire team have been released at the same time and that they are by such wonderful romantic military suspense authors In this fifth and final book we get Beau “Jangles” Talbot and Hope Mitchell
Beau had always sworn that he would never fall in love while he was still in the military and definitely not while he was a member of Delta force where his life wasn't his own and he could be called out at any time but he still had a sneaky attachment to the bar tender at the teams favourite watering hole. Hope had her own dramas she fell in love once before and it nearly destroyed her so no matter how cute she though Beau was there was no way she would act on it The only thing is that neither of them could resist and soon they are a couple . With the team all now in love things should be perfect for them all but a past mission Yes that one from Kazurus is about to return and put all of their women in danger but these Delta men will do whatever they need to in an effort to keep their women safe even if it means breaking all the rules.
What starts out as a casual hookup soon becomes more when Beau realizes his true feelings for Hope. Beau’s admission of his feelings has Hope scared & almost running. Beau sets out on a mission to prove his feelings are real and all too soon they are both put to the test. Can Hope go all in and let Beau into her life even if it might bring heartache in the end? Will Beau succeed in his mission to enable his woman to see herself as the beautiful, battle scarred lioness she is?
I was swept away by the intriguing storyline of Hope’s Delta. Hope has not had an easy life - especially after witnessing her parents being murdered & carrying around misplaced guilt as a means for penance. Witnessing Hope’s journey to redemption, self discovery & self love was extremely impactful. Yes, the scenes are H.O.T. Yes, Hope & Beau ‘Jangles’ are made for each other. But more than that, this book lays bare some deep truths that will likely resonate with us all. Riley, thank you for this book. I feel like each and every time I read one of your stories I am able to peel back some of the layers of hurt from my past and move forward just like Hope.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Beau 'Jangles' Talbot has been seeing Hope on the sly for quite a while. She takes care of his cat Buster while he's off on missions, and sleeps with him when he's home. Suddenly he realizes she's more, has been for a while and he's not sure how he feels about that.
Hope manages the Ugly Mug for BF, a disabled veteran who also owns the shooting range next door. She doesn't want serious and her relationship with Jangles is perfect the way it is. She's also come to realize she has feelings for Beau, something she can't afford to have.
Beau is what she always calls him in private and when she calls him Jangles he gets annoyed. He's Beau with her and nothing less than that will do. Beau broke down her walls and she told her story, one that had me sniffling. Then she tries to break up with him to protect her heart. Beau's having none of that though.
Things start looking up for them when the unthinkable happens. Not only to Hope but also Nori, Destiny, Gwen and Ivy.
Woof, Zip, Merlin, Duff and Jangles go on the mission of their lives. I was really glad to see Tex in this one, he's the best there is!
I couldn't put this book down, I laughed, cried my eyes out and was surprise my kindle didn't melt from the sizzling heat between Beau and Hope.
Hope has had a hard life. She carries a lot of guilt and regrets on her shoulders for something that happened when she was a teenager. She is working in the local watering hole as a bartender when she meets Beau or "Jangles" as he is known to his team. The two of them have been seeing each other since Jangles first came to town but they are been keeping it from his team. Of course, eventually, they find out and couldn't be happier for their teammate. Things from the teams past threaten their future and that of the women they love.
Jangles is a strong Alpha male who makes decisions that affect his relationship with Hope. This sends Hope into a tailspin but it also forces her to face her past and put her guilt and regret where they belong. Hope is stronger than she thinks and she eventually finds her way. She is a lot stronger than she knows, she just needs to see what other people see in her.
Hope is an incredible character, a survivor who while broken is still able to love. I couldn't help but thinking that Hope reminded me of Alabama from Ms. Stoker's book Protecting Alabama. I enjoyed this story and loved the fact that Ms. Edwards gave us a glimpse of everyone 25 years later in the Epilogue.
WOW! An emotional roller coaster of a read. Totally mind blowing, but all Ms. Riley's books are. To be able to finish this short five book series with a great conclusion of this book. This journey had Beau (Jangles) being with Hope, behind the scenes, for quite a long time, even his teammates didn't know. They had the perfect "relationship", they filled each other's lives, but it did not go deep. Beau decided he wanted more and pushed Hope (who never gave more than she had to due to her past). It was all about Beau giving to her! His description of if he enjoys his job, it quite wonderful to read, he's all in. You know you are in for a great ride when the cr*p hits the fan at 30% in! Page turner, intense, roller coaster, tears, joy and relief. You get to see a multitude of characters from other series which complete this book and make it even better.
Don't forget "Palace of Pleasure" and "Castle of Catastrophe", "Nine-thousand one-hundred and twenty-five days", "Mission of Forgiveness", Kidnapping outfits - totally winning, Head to Toe blood and finally forgiveness. That's the big one.
I received this advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.
Talk about a great ending! While all of the books in this series are stand alone, Beau and Hope kind of dance around each other throughout the series. Not that you have to read those to follow this story, but this series is so great, why wouldn't you??
Hope has so many secrets, her secrets have secrets. But that's ok, because she's not looking for anything serious anyway, and neither is Beau. She is broken and the emotions between these two is super intense. You won't be able to put it down waiting to see how they will eventually realize they love each other and it's not just a series of hook ups.
It's also pretty fun to watch Beau as he realizes they don't really have a casual thing anymore but are morphing into an actual relationship. When crap hits the fan, Beau and his team are the only ones who can charge in to save the day. The way this author weaves this tale is both heartbreaking and hilarious. The action (just like the other 4 books of this series) never gets dull and I have thoroughly enjoyed the series the entire time. What a great way to end a fabulous series!!
I loved this book so much I am voluntarily leaving a review of this advanced readers copy.
