Delta Operative Heath “Woof” Davis has spent years living on the edge. Protecting a State Department official is just another assignment until he discovers that Eleanor Bonham is Nori Duncan, the one that got away. He can protect her from enemy forces in the Republic of Kazarus, but can he defend his heart from the woman who used to be his everything?
She’s not going to fall for a soldier boy…
High school was a long time ago, and Eleanor is no longer the heartbroken girl who ended things with Heath. She doesn’t have time for love, not if she’s going to rise in the ranks at State Department. But Heath is even more handsome than he was back then, and his years in the military have honed him into a man completely unlike the boy she once knew. With his sights set on her, how can she resist?
The mission in Kazarus is as important as it is dangerous. Eleanor and Heath will need to rely on one another if they are going to see the mission through. But will they be able to overcome past pain for the hope of a future?
Military romance. Reunion romance. Big, bad alpha protector hero. This is Woof's story. Despite getting the job done both as a soldier and a protector, I found him a little whiny, and some of the other guys (future heroes) were more interesting. But he made up for it in the end--he went to her because she was crying. His woman needed him, and he was there for her in the way that counted most.
Much better quality than some of the other Stoker Aces spinoff fan-fiction I've read. Well written and edited. I was so excited to read about Merlin's team because I loved them as the supporting characters in SHIELDING KINLEY by Susan Stoker.
I know it has to do with the military connection, but the titles in this series make me giggle. Even NORI'S DELTA SOLDIER or DELTA PROTECTOR, etc. would move me past that. I almost didn't try it because of the title. But I'm glad I did.
I look forward to reading the other authors' books in this spin-off miniseries from Ms. Stoker's Delta Team Two miniseries.
Nori’s Delta is book 1 in the Delta Team Three series by Lori Ryan and various authors and is part of the Operation Alpha World, Delta Team Two series by Susan Stoker.
Eleanor Bonham “Nori” is on a mission for the State Department in enemy territory of Kazarus and has been assigned a team of Delta Special Ops soldiers to protect her. What she couldn’t have imagined in a million years was seeing the man she turned away from years ago...Delta Operative, Heath “Woof” Davis...the one she never stopped loving.
What happens next will keep you on the edge of your seat, suspenseful, twists, turns, finding a lost love and so much more...but...can he and his team keep Nori and her team safe, rescue the hostages and bring them home safely and still keep his heart from falling for her again? Only time and fate will reveal all!
This is my first time reading this author and I don’t know why it took so long. The story was nonstop action and suspense. Woof and his team take an assignment of protecting a woman in a foreign country but he is in for the shock of his life because that woman is his one and only true love from the past. Eleanor was a nerdy girl in high school and there was no way the star football player would ever want to go out with her but that’s just what Heath did. Tragically and it ended and they both moved moved on, but did they really?
Fast forward to the present Eleanor needs a security detail trying to negotiate in a foreign country and Woof/ Heath and his is assigned to her. From the moment her plane touches down she is in danger. Will Woof and his team be able to protect her? Will they be able to rekindle their romance?
Here is book 1 of Delta Team #3. This book and series is part of the Operation Alpha World.
Eleanor “Nori” Bonham and Heath “Woof” Davis never stopped loving each other. They once high school sweethearts, but no longer in touch. While on a mission for the state department Nori came face to face with the love of her life, Woof. His Delta Team was there to protect Nori from the enemy.
This book is such a good read. If you want to stay on the edge of your seat this is the book for you. Nori's Delta is full of suspense, action, and such a great love story. I am also pleased to meet this loyal Delta Team and enjoy their brotherhood, loyalty to each other, and humor. Also, note many of Susan Stoker's grace us in this book.
This was the first book I have read by Lori Ryan and I have got this book makes me want to read more of her series.
Heath or Woof as his Delta team called him was surprised to be on a mission to protect Eleanor Bonham. I can’t imagine what he thought when he saw her picture and knew it was his “Nori” from high school that he had been in love with. Eleanor’s life was her job and wanted to do the very best she could. I don’t know how she had the nerves to go into a country to meet secretly with the man who wanted to take over the leadership of his country. It became scarier once she got off the plane and someone tried to kidnap her. I was happy to see Woof take over to make sure she was safe. I loved his team and how they all looked out for each other. There were certainly some edge of your seat scenes in the book. I liked that Eleanor and Woof could hopefully get a second chance. I enjoyed the book and encourage you to read it.
I enjoy a good military romance. The hot, sexy, alpha male badass hero. Swoon! Heath was all that & more. Nori was a badass herself, with an important powerful job & how she protected herself & friends. These two were a match made in badass heaven.
The only thing I wished for was more background on the whole operation & more about the bad guys & their overall plans. But that’s the action novel addict in me. I love a good twisted plot with guns & blowing stuff up.
Overall a great read with action, bad guys, & second chance romance! I received an arc of this book in return for an honest review.
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, suspense, secrets, twists & turns, and heartbreak.
This is Eleanor and Heath’s story. These two have history she is his one that got away. Can he protect her and keep his feelings in check or it about to get a little crazy with all the feels? Can they overcome the painful heartbreaking past they had to move forward, or will they have to walk away again?
I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
This is my first book by Lori and I really enjoyed it😁 Nori and Heath (Woof) know each other from when they were teenagers and dated for a little while before they went their seperate ways😢
Suffice to say Nori is now a State Department negotiator and is about to begin talks in a foreign country and Delta Team get sent in to protect here....and she sees Heath again for the first time in years🤩 A really good story that I enjoyed and I can’t wait to read the rest of the teams’ stories❤️
Nori and Woof are both sweethearts and both guarding broken hearts... I tell you guys communication is the number one rule to losing years with the one you love...lol Can high school sweethearts find their way back to each other and make it work for the long haul this time?? You better believe they can even in the midst of trouble.
I loved Nori and Heath’s story. It was so well-written The blurb straight away caught my attention and reading the story is even more amazing. It has lots of action and suspense. The romance is amazing though. I love a good second chance romance, and this tick all the boxes for me.
Heath and Eleanor were absolutely amazing! I couldn't get enough them! I love how protective they were of one another. It was so great seeing them connect after all those years! So happy they found a way to make it work! 💙
This book's storyline was okay. I liked the action in this story. I liked the hot 🔥 & steamy scenes. I liked Heath's character. I liked Eleanor's character. I liked the ending.
This was different than I was expecting. I've gotten so used to Riley's way of writing that it took me a little bit to get into. This had a lot more of the negotiations and military type stuff that at times it got to be a bit much. I wanted more focus on Heath, Nori, and the guys than on the reason Nori was there.
The general storyline was reasonably engaging and the two main characters were clearly written as strong and capable. But there were a few errors that droveme crazy. Things like “he had kissed her last night” when he had not kissed her until a night in the future. Or “he looked around the restaurant” when the setting was clearly a different place. The ‘whodunit’ aspect of the story felt weak to me, and the ending abrupt. I found the author’s descriptions of intimacy awkward.
Nori’s Delta is the first installment in the Delta Team Three series. This one is penned by Lori Ryan and features the second-chance romance between Elinor Bonham and Heath “Woof” Davis. They were high school sweethearts who went their different ways after high school party got raided and Heath was caught by the police. Elinor blamed herself and cut ties leaving behind a broken-hearted Heath. Decades later destiny brings these two together. She is a successful State Department agent/negotiator. He is a highly trained Delta Team member. She is on an assignment and his team is ordered to protect her. These two face challenges on two fields--rekindling romance and doing their jobs professionally while being safe. How will they fair? You must read this book to find out.
Once again, readers find that they are caught up in a spinoff with one of the characters they men in Susan Stoker’s Delta team series. I enjoyed how Ms. Ryan follows the theme and pattern laid forth in the original series. You have an alpha Delta Team operative intent on fulfilling his mission of saving a strong attractive female lead. Sparks fly romantically as the two leads sort through their strong feelings and expectations. Ms. Ryan deftly uses literary devices such as dialog, point of view and descriptive language to move her plot along at a smooth pace. Her dialog is solid. Her characters’ internal monologues give readers a glimpse into their innermost demons and struggles. The dual point of view further endears readers to these two. The descriptive language makes the scenes realistic and vivid. Nicely done, Ms. Ryan.
Delta Heath and his team were good at protecting, confident and all work. Nori was a diplomat negotiating for hostages in a far flung province. A good military romance read.
Nori and Heath are equally surprised at how they meet again. They had a love back in high school that ended poorly but shaped who they both are today. The story is a quick read with lots of action, government and romance. The delta team is full of personality and this looks to be a fun group to read more about. The ending was sweet though Nori was a bit irritating in how she reacted to the trauma/couple. Overall a good addition to the operation alpha world.
A good read, felt completely involved with the characters. It felt quite a quick read... and, to be honest, I actually wanted it to be a little more drawn out across all developing plot points. I liked Eleanor. I liked Woof. Liked the connection to SS's 'verse. Yep, a good read all round.
The only plot point, for me, that had no real closure was what had happened in high school. Was that ever resolved? Was the person in question actually ever dealt with legally? Cos, once an assaulter... always an assaulter... unless you get some serious help. Most people who perpetrate these types of crimes don't really see that they are doing anything wrong... or if they do, they don't care.
( the reason I'm not going on and on and on is that we are pretty much tuned in to what we're going to get... and the only reasons I might expound is that a) I hate it or b) I OTT love it. )
Nori's Delta was an interesting and action-packed read.
Heath has been sent to protect Nori on her mission to negotiate. Someone has leaked her information and put a target on her head. Heath and Nori were together in high school and after a traumatic accident Nori ended things and Heath ended up in the military.
Now they're being thrown together again and Heath will do anything to keep her safe after having failed all those years ago.
Overall, Nori's Delta was a fun read. I enjoyed this story from beginning to end.
Eleanor and Heath have a long history but, it's not one Eleanor wants to repeat. Heath is sent with his crew to assist during some very dangerous and fragile peace talks in the Middle East. Little does Heath know that the one woman he ever loved and lost is the Chief Negotiator of these talks. He already lost her once and, he is determined to never lose her again! This story had way too much technical info before the storyline actually started to flow but, picked up and sprinted to the end.
I'm not usually a fan of fan fiction but Operation Alpha does better than most. This premise of team 3 being written by different authors intrigued me, so I had to try it. This is my first Lori Ryan book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. She sticks to the ideas of Stokers military world, yet makes the story her own. I think Susan Stoker fans will enjoy it and I know Operation Alpha fans will!
This series is part of the Operation Alpha World, Delta Team Two series by Susan Stoker.
Woof and Nori knew each other years ago and they're the one who got away. This book is action packed from page one and doesn't stop till the end. Like I said there's action (lots of it) plus drama, angst and sexy times. I'm looking forward to the rest of the teams stories.
A good introduction to the members of the Delta 3 team. The main characters have been well developed and engaging. The storyline is interesting & helps to explain the team's mission. I'm looking forward to the other stories. Well Done!
Steamy second change romance. Heath didn’t plan to be guarding his high school girlfriend but when they see each other, sparks fly. Can he keep her safe? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and steam. I liked it.

Action packed containing some violence and intrigue, the comradery of the close brotherhood of Delta Team Three, the rocky but steamy fifteen year reunion of the "Animal Whisper" alpha Woof's with his high school sweetheart Nori plus a poignant and intriguing ending providing glimpses into Zip's emotional losses and into the trouble coming in his future. Book 2 Destiny's Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (Delta Team Three Book 2) 4 stars I received a free copy of the steamy military-Fort Hood,Killeen, Texas based novel Destiny's Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (Delta Team Three Book 2)by Becca Jameson and this review was given freely. A second chance romance overshadowed by the guilt of unrequited love, shared sorrow,Destiny's worry of how the community will perceive their biracial relationship, and a death threat on US soil. Easy flowing but with a good portion of the story spent on the characters worrying over how wise it is to be together. Twelve years after losing his childhood best friend/ first love to his twin brother Sean and his brother Sean in an IED explosion, a chance encounter at the Ugly Mug Bar reunites Delta Operative Trent " Zip" Dawkins with airline hostess Destiny Fisher soon after Zip learns he is the focus of Onur Demir's revenge plans. Nice introduction to book three. Good if read on its own but there are differences from book 1's story line.
Book 3 Gwen's Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (Delta Team Three Book 3) 4 stars I received a free copy of the steamy Texas military based novel Gwen's Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (Delta Team Three Book 3)by Lynne St. James and this review was given freely. An instant attraction romance involving fate, intrigue and a touch of whimsy which is set in Lancelot, Texas featuring the warm comradity of Delta Team Three, characters with names from old England at the time of King Arthur's reign as well as a rescue mission in Egypt. Rare book enthusiast Delta Team Three operative Luke " Merlin" Forrest decides to start his week of leave away from his teammates in the quaint little Camelot Rare Books and Antiques store only to find himself mesmerized by its owner Guinevere " Gwen" Dedmond, captivated by her grandparents, and his leave cut short for the team to perform a mission involving the CIA, the military group Daesh and Gwen's parents. Good if read on its own but there are differences from the original excerpt in book 2.
Book 4 Ivy's Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (Delta Team Three Book 4) by Elle James 5 stars I received a free copy of the steamy Killeen,Texas military based novel Ivy's Delta: Susan Stoker's Delta Team 3 Series: Book 4 by Elle James and this review was given freely. Full of action and drama this mildly steamy attraction at first sight novel contains a close knit Delta Forces team, an easy flowing story of love and betrayal requiring multiple rescues but ending happily. 8 years after losing his childhood sweetheart and wife Katie in a tragic boating accident on their honeymoon, Army Special Forces/ Delta Forces motorcycle operative Magnus “Duff” McCormick feels the walls he has placed around his heart crack when disillusioned former high powered attorney now eclectic gift shop owner, Ivy Fremont literally falls into his arms. Contains a fair amount of violence but graphic level is low.
Book 5 Hope's Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (Delta Team Three Book 5): with edits
4 stars I received a free copy of the steamy Killeen, Texas military based novel Hope’s Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) Delta Team 3, Book Five Hope: Jangles and by Riley Edwards and this review was given freely. A fitting ending to the series. Intense, filled with drama, action and brief highlights from past sequels, this novel provides one last rescue mission, the rocky romance of Jangles and Hope, a story of the struggle towards forgiveness, and brief glimpses into each couples future lives. Just as the emotionally scarred Ugly Mug's bartender and jack of all trades Hope Mitchell allows herself to believe she is worthy of love and a future with Delta Team 3 operative Beau “Jangles” Talbot, the return of Onur Demir seeking revenge pushes Teams 2 and 3 into one of the most important missions of their lives and a return to Turkey. Contains some some violence but graphic level is low.
Welcome to the 1st Book in the Delta Team 3 Series. If you love Susan Stoker, you will love this spin-off series based in her military world. This first book in this series is called Nori's Delta- but it should be called "Be Careful What You Wish For" or "Love Can Be Contagious". Lori Ryan creates a captivating, grab-you -by- the-heart storyline from the very beginning. We meet Delta operator Heath or "Woof" while he is out with some fellow teammates feeling drunkenly sad. About what? About the fact that several teammates found strong women who can handle having men who do dangerous jobs-unlike poor ole him who is still single and alone. And bam..... the stage is set for Eleanor, aka "Nori" , our heroine who works in the State Department (and who was the "one" who got away in his past). The story revolves around Heath's Delta team being tasked to protect Eleanor while she goes to Kazarus on a State Department diplomatic mission. Sparks fly immediately, both in the mission and personally for the two. Will their path ever go smoothly? This book is a total rollercoaster read that you can't put down. The sexual pull between the characters is undeniable and the action is both authentic and non-stop. The twists in the plot are unexpected and totally do not have that stereotypically simple, I know what to anticipate, vibe. Heath's philosophy towards this adventure is true for the reader as well: "...Might as well sit back and enjoy the trip..." I received an ARC of this book to review and give my honest opinion. I absolutely love this book and the ones to follow (hint: Destiny's Delta, by Becca Jameson is next) Having different authors truly gives each book and their characters uniqueness and it's fantastic to get that originality within the same "world".
Wow, what an amazingly well written, action packed book. I had to look a few times to check it wasn’t Susan Stoker herself, writing this story, as it felt exactly like I’d immersed myself in one of her worlds. Fantastic!
From start to finish, the story and characters were engaging, I thoroughly enjoyed the progression of the relationship between Eleanor (Nori) and Heath (Woof, yes that’s his nickname and it’s a very cute story how he got it). I felt the pain and unresolved feelings from their past together, and was happy to cling on for the ride for new feelings to develop now they are adults. I loved both Nori and Heath, they were both strong and endearing.
The rest of Heath’s Delta brothers also claimed my heart, they had each other’s backs, but also looked out for Nori as if she were their own, and the way they each snuck in seeing her whilst she was rehabilitating was adorable. I cannot wait to see what the other authors do with them, especially after that little sneak peek at the end, and the unresolved issue from this story!
I don’t want to say to much about the storyline as I feel this is one you need to experience yourself, there are twists and turns, it’s jam packed full of action from the outset and the suspicion will keep you guessing throughout.
My only one teeny, tiny niggle is I would’ve liked a little flashback to the incident that split the pair up in the first place, though we are told the basics of what happened, I would’ve liked the added insight into what happened so we could gain some perspective on each of the couples strong feelings at that time.
A wonderful, high octane read, with sizzling heat, loveable characters, a second chance romance that you are dying to see come to fruition and outstanding writing. I can’t recommend this enough.
