Welcome to book two of Delta Team #3. This book and series is part of the Operation Alpha World.
Trent "Zip", Sean, and Destiny grew up together and were childhood best friends. Trent and Sean both had eyes for Destiny, but Sean approached her first. Trent loved her from afar and watched as his twin brother dated and later get engaged to the woman he loved. Both Zip and Sean head off to the military following high school graduation, one will not return.
12 years later Zip and Destiny see one another again. She struggles to look at Zip, to be around him, to talk to him....until one night and way too much tequila. That's when the flood gates open and they both realize they were in love in with other in high school and that love never faded.
What an amazing book of friends to lovers. We get another chance to see the Delta Team #3 in action when Zip is in danger. Zip and Destiny are new to their relationship and this mission will test their love.
This is the first book I read by Becca Jameson. I must say that the secondary characters, Destiny's friends, were written about so well in this book that I have already ordered Becca Jameson's Open Skies Series.
Trent and his twin brother Sean were both friends with Destiny and they were both in love with her as well. When she and his brother got engaged he found it difficult to watch them being together so he decided the best course of action was to focus on his military career and the divide between he and Destiny only grew wider when his brother passed away.
Destiny loved both Trent and Sean but realized she made the wrong decision when she became engaged to Sean. Having him pass away has left her with regrets and wondering about what could have been with Trent. More than a decade has passed before Destiny and Trent finally tell each other how they feel but as the danger escalates around them will this be their second chance or are they destined to end in heartbreak once again?
Filled with intrigue, emotion and action this story will keep you entertained from beginning to end.
Destiny’s Delta is book 2 in the Delta Team Three series by Becca Jameson and various authors and is part of the Operation Alpha World, Delta Team Two series by Susan Stoker.
Up next is Trent ‘Zip’ Hawkins and Destiny Fisher. Zip and Destiny have not spoken in 12 years after the death of his twin brother, Sean who Destiny was engaged to. Zip finally decided its time to clear the air so they can both move on except both have hidden feelings for the other. Now reconnected and heading into a possible future together except Zip has a threat on his life and he isn’t telling her any of this...
Suspense, obstacles, letting go of the past, emotional, sparks, secrets and so much more will keep you reading way into the night...
My first book by Becca and I really enjoyed Destiny and Trent/Zip❣️ Destiny and Trent grew up together but after she starts dating his twin brother, they grow apart😢 When Sean dies, they both go their separate ways and now twelve years later, they meet up by accident and all the emotions they’ve bottled up, spill over😱
But they have a few obstacles to overcome before they can be together and also danger on the horizon too😳 I enjoyed this couple and I’m eager to start the next book😍
Overall Amanda rating: B+ I think that the series has so much potential. I believe that the part of the entire series that is tricky is that each story is written by a different author, based on Susan Stoker's characters. While this can be fantastic, it also has the potential to fail. This book itself was a good book. The story was good overall. A boy and girl fall for each other as children, and the girl begins dating the twin brother of the boy she actually likes. The brother dies. The boy and the girl had never spoken for 12 years. Suddenly they are both at the same bar, and the girl is drunk and throws out so many words, that all mean "I love you and always have." I think that the plot and the storyline were well written. The characters were well done. Overall it was a good read.
Destiny has been fighting her head and heart for twelve years after picking the wrong twin but maybe now is the time to fix it and be with the one she has always truly loved.
Another interesting story in this spin-off series set in Susan Stoker's world. I have mixed feelings on this story. The military part again threw me. I wasn't connecting with it. However, I did enjoy the characters in this one. I liked that, although there was history between these characters in an unlikely way/connection, Destiny and Trent had to navigate the "stigma" of being in a relationship after Sean. There was a lot to sift there. I appreciated that Des was biracial which tied into another reason she was concerned about what others would think or feel.
Trent 'Zip' and Destiny's story could easily be read as a stand-alone. The author provides enough information that it is not absolutely necessary that you read book 1, Nori's Delta.
One thing I will say is that I think the suspense from the first book carried over to this book a little more intensely. Had I not read book 1, don't know if I would have felt the same level of suspense.
I actually enjoyed this book more than the first one. More of the book revolved around Zip and Destiny's relationship. The fallout from the previous mission was secondary. I feel like I got to know them better than the first couple.
This was also a second chance romance situation. I liked the fact that there was diversity in Destiny being biracial. I could connect with some of the things she felt, some of her hesitation, some of her fears. I felt badly for her and her struggle with her feelings about Sean.
Trent had established a pattern of making decisions for Destiny. Mostly based on his own fears. I could understand Trent doing what he did, although I didn't agree with why he did it or the way he did it.
Once again, the emphasis was on the romance. The book was sweet, sexy, fast paced, and suspenseful. I liked the way the resolution of Trent's situation did not drag on. I would have liked more information on what happened with Marie after he arrived. On to book 3.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This one missed the mark for me. It didn't flow... and I'm not too sure what the actual point of it was. I like a bit of action and jeopardy in my 'Operation Alpha' read... and this lacked both for me.
But... this was my biggest takeaway from this book. It really bothered me that Trent's mum told her next door neighbour that Trent was in town when he had specifically told her not to. What if Destiny had been taken and the grandmother was having that held over head in order to get information about Trent? Considering that he had been Delta for some years... his mum really should've known better. I hope that she got a severe bollocking. She really could've endangered his life. And why the hell did he tell her anyway? If he had just stayed on base until the issue was resolved... it would've been fine. He goes away on missions all the time... so he should've just treated this as a mission like any other. Idiot. Annnd. His mother was being all motherly when he was recovering from the incident... wanting to talk. But she didn't bother 12 years ago when he demonstrably changed... she sucks. Yeah... she should've talked to him. My take on that would be that she loved the other son more and really wanted a daughter... to Trent's detriment.
Struggling how to rate this. Cos I didn't hate it, but I didn't particularly like it either. Am saying 1.5 rating... but will click the 2 star box cos I am generous like that... 😉
I liked the pace and storyline of this book and i haven't listened to Becca before. I found there was more romance and less angst in the plot which isn't for me. if its delta team then action is what I'm looking for. the 2nd chance at love with the H and the h lends to the slow burn and building of feelings and emotions and even though the action in the story tied up nicely, It still wasn't enough for me. being a series, I liked that past and future characters were included. now to the narrator's! oh boy I should have gone with my gut and not with my head wanting to move through the series. I've listened to Alexander once before and I was devastated as the series was brilliant but when book 3 changed the narrator to Alexander..I returned it after chapter 4. the voice he chose to intetpret for the lead male was horrible and I was so disappointed but I hoped he may be different in this book. although I did finish the novel and coped with the male lead voice, i struggled big time with his female side. he made them sound like bimbos. the intelligent sassy h did not sound like that at all. then there was laurel...she gave voice to our H that didn't characterise a delta soldier at all. for me, both narrator's just failed and detracted from the author's story. a narrator can make or break a book, in my ears...it broke.
Becca Jameson is a "go to" author for me and I was ecstatic to find she was part of the Delta Team 3 series. Destiny's Delta has has everything I want in a romantic suspense: intrigue, fast paced action, a great love story with lots of steaminess and of course an HEA. One thing I particularly loved was the vulnerability she gave Zip. It really moved me emotionally.
Trent "Zip" Dawkins just became the hunted instead of being the hunter. At the same time he reconnects with his childhood friend, Destiny Fisher, the only woman he's ever loved. A drunken confession leads to stunning revelations by both of them. Starting a relationship when he could put her in danger is crazy but his heart overrules his head. He and his Delta team pull out all the stops to eliminate the threat but will it be enough.
This series is part of the Operation Alpha World, Delta Team Two series by Susan Stoker.
Destiny was friends with Trent and his twin brother since kindergarten. She gets engaged to his brother who dies in Afghanistan. Now it's years later and Trent is determined to win her love for himself since he's been in love with her for years. Plus there's the addition of drama from a past mission to take care of.
Book 2 Destiny's Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (Delta Team Three Book 2) 4 stars I received a free copy of the steamy military-Fort Hood,Killeen, Texas based novel Destiny's Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (Delta Team Three Book 2)by Becca Jameson and this review was given freely. A second chance romance overshadowed by the guilt of unrequited love, shared sorrow,Destiny's worry of how the community will perceive their biracial relationship, and a death threat on US soil. Easy flowing but with a good portion of the story spent on the characters worrying over how wise it is to be together. Twelve years after losing his childhood best friend/ first love to his twin brother Sean and his brother Sean in an IED explosion, a chance encounter at the Ugly Mug Bar reunites Delta Operative Trent " Zip" Dawkins with airline hostess Destiny Fisher soon after Zip learns he is the focus of Onur Demir's revenge plans. Nice introduction to book three. Good if read on its own but there are differences from book 1's story line.
Book 3 Gwen's Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (Delta Team Three Book 3) 4 stars I received a free copy of the steamy Texas military based novel Gwen's Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (Delta Team Three Book 3)by Lynne St. James and this review was given freely. An instant attraction romance involving fate, intrigue and a touch of whimsy which is set in Lancelot, Texas featuring the warm comradity of Delta Team Three, characters with names from old England at the time of King Arthur's reign as well as a rescue mission in Egypt. Rare book enthusiast Delta Team Three operative Luke " Merlin" Forrest decides to start his week of leave away from his teammates in the quaint little Camelot Rare Books and Antiques store only to find himself mesmerized by its owner Guinevere " Gwen" Dedmond, captivated by her grandparents, and his leave cut short for the team to perform a mission involving the CIA, the military group Daesh and Gwen's parents. Good if read on its own but there are differences from the original excerpt in book 2.
Book 4 Ivy's Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (Delta Team Three Book 4) by Elle James 5 stars I received a free copy of the steamy Killeen,Texas military based novel Ivy's Delta: Susan Stoker's Delta Team 3 Series: Book 4 by Elle James and this review was given freely. Full of action and drama this mildly steamy attraction at first sight novel contains a close knit Delta Forces team, an easy flowing story of love and betrayal requiring multiple rescues but ending happily. 8 years after losing his childhood sweetheart and wife Katie in a tragic boating accident on their honeymoon, Army Special Forces/ Delta Forces motorcycle operative Magnus “Duff” McCormick feels the walls he has placed around his heart crack when disillusioned former high powered attorney now eclectic gift shop owner, Ivy Fremont literally falls into his arms. Contains a fair amount of violence but graphic level is low.
Book 5 Hope's Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (Delta Team Three Book 5): with edits
4 stars I received a free copy of the steamy Killeen, Texas military based novel Hope’s Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) Delta Team 3, Book Five Hope: Jangles and by Riley Edwards and this review was given freely. A fitting ending to the series. Intense, filled with drama, action and brief highlights from past sequels, this novel provides one last rescue mission, the rocky romance of Jangles and Hope, a story of the struggle towards forgiveness, and brief glimpses into each couples future lives. Just as the emotionally scarred Ugly Mug's bartender and jack of all trades Hope Mitchell allows herself to believe she is worthy of love and a future with Delta Team 3 operative Beau “Jangles” Talbot, the return of Onur Demir seeking revenge pushes Teams 2 and 3 into one of the most important missions of their lives and a return to Turkey. Contains some some violence but graphic level is low.
In Book 2 of the Delta Team 3 Series, Destiny's Delta, we are once again taken into Susan Stoker's exciting military "world" of intrigue, adventure, and unrequited love & misunderstanding. We dive into a story where everything is not what it seem to be. Can twelve years of division end in a HEA-and would you wait that long? Can our hero, Trent, ever reconcile with his first love, Destiny? Can she ever overlook the fact that Trent is a twin to her dead fiancé Sean? The reader is not left in the dark for long. Wham. In a drunken stupor, Destiny spills the beans about her feelings for him. Trent confronts her ..."we need to talk..we should have done so years ago...we've both been living in separate Mansions of Misery." Ironically, he is called away on a mission soon after and we are left to wonder if she will wait for him. But when Trent's identity is exposed during a mission, the possibility of life threatening retaliatory danger to family and friends becomes a reality. So dummy that he is, he lets his macho protective side strike, and makes a series of bad decisions so that there is no blowback on her. "..he would not put her life in danger...he wasn't about to let his shit touch Destiny..." What is strangely satisfying about this book (to me) is that the characters actually DO mostly make decisions the way we (the readers) want them too but usually don't (because the author wants us to suffer and yell a lot). You know, like when someone is tiptoeing down to the basement to see what that mysterious noise is while the audience is yelling No No No, DON'T GO DOWN THERE. This is basically a love story within a military suspense. Trent and Destiny must resolve their past issues and survive a deadly threat against him before they get any HEA. And the little teaser in the book is awesome. Basically, a woman named Gwen, owning a bookstore named Camelot, in a town named Lancelot, meeting a boy named Merlin. Intrigued, check out Book 3 "Gwen's Delta" by Lynne St. James. One warning though: Once you start reading this series, you get hooked. If you can't handle that, just walk away. You've been warned:-) I received an ARC of this book to review
Destiny’s Delta is the second book in the Operation Alpha’s World Delta Team Three series. The Operation Alpha’s World is a spin off focusing on secondary characters in Susan Stoker’s Delta Team Three series. Destiny’s Delta is a second-chance romance penned by Becca Jameson. She introduces readers to Destiny Fisher and Trent Dawkins. Destiny is a biracial beauty. Trent is the surviving twin and a Delta operative. Destiny lived next door to the Dawkins. The Dawkins twins and Destiny were a dynamic trio. Then Fate throws a curve ball into their friendship when Sean Dawkins proposes to Destiny. Not too long after the proposal in an oversea mission, Sean is killed. Decades later Fate brings Destiny and Trent together. Unrequited love soon resurrects. However, Destiny and Trent struggle with survivor’s guilt. Then collateral damage from one of Trent’s Delta missions follows him home. He becomes a target for revenge. Will his team keep him safe? Will the danger follow Destiny? What about his parents, will they be safe? Can the love that Destiny and Trent share heal their emotional scars? To discover what unfolds you must read this book.
Ms. Jameson does a remarkable job with this romantic suspense. I enjoyed her use of a two-prong plot. The first prong being the exploration and journey of unrequited love and a second chance to find happiness. The second prong is one of suspense through the Delta Team missions. Just as Destiny and Trent explore their unrequited love, Trent finds himself the target of a revengeful terrorist family--The Demir Family. This is the first time that collateral damage follows a Delta team home. Ms. Jameson deftly use literary devices such as dialog, point of view and descriptive language to move her plot along at a smooth pace. Her dialog is solid. Her characters’ internal dialog gives readers a glimpse into their true struggles. The dual point of view further endears readers to these two. The descriptive language makes the scenes vivid.
Destiny’s Delta is about changing from a life of regret to a life of happiness. Destiny and Trent were the best of friends when young, but when Destiny started dating Trent’s twin brother Sean, it drove a wedge between them that was cemented by his death. 12 years later, they’ve never forgotten one another, and a drunken confession one night makes Trent aware that Destiny loved him all along. Things are going to change between them—it’s time to move from virtual estrangement to a relationship.
What I loved about Trent and Destiny is that once they decided to go for it, they were all in on working this out. Trent’s life as a Special Forces team member was nicely paralleled by Destiny’s profession as a flight attendant; Destiny’s career choice made it easy for her to accept Trent’s lifestyle in Special Forces, where they have to be away from their families for stretches of time.
This book is all about mistakes in communication. Destiny never told Trent her true feelings when they were young. Trent makes a crucial error in communication about a work situation that arises. Jameson nicely shows that each of them have something to learn to make their relationship work in future.
The one thing Destiny’s Delta hangs on is a love so overwhelming that these two people would have basically superficial relationships for *12 years** even though they never actually dated before. You’re either going to buy the premise that their feelings were so deep that they’d hold off from any sort of standing commitment to another person (even long-term dating) based on a feeling that neither knew was reciprocated, or it’s really not going to work for you. If you can buy that premise, you’ll find Destiny’s Delta to be another of Jameson’s strongly written reads.
This is a wonderful addition to the Delta Force series, totally addictive reading The Delta Force team are ready to put it all on the line, the three previous members that had been introduced in the first book and made such a splendid hit. Trent, and Destiny are as different as chalk and cheese Trent is a warrior, a fighter who will see things through to the end as is as loyal as they come never forgetting those that he has worked with or sadly those that have been lost on missions. Destiny has known Trent and his twin since they were knee high to grasshoppers, children always in to mischief and after Sean’s engagement to her it had left Trent very much in isolation, avoiding his friends and those that cared for him. However, after both Sean and he had joined up and unfortunately, he had lost Sean during action and now there ate two souls that are both broken hearted, can they help each other to heal? Some twelve years later they are once again brought together and they are able to open up and discuss both secrets and feelings that both have kept hidden but never been able to forget, then as things begin to become intense and possibly dangerous Trent lies by omission and now it’s possible that Destiny could be in danger. Will he be able to keep them both safe, can the past not be forgotten but be accepted allowing them to live and love again? Time will tell!!! A great read, once you start you will not be able to put this book down until you reach the end. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Trent, Sean, and Destiny were attached at the hip growing up. They did everything together. As twins, Trent and Sean were best friends but vastly different. Trent was the funny one, while Sean was the serious one. Destiny rounded out the group and was the daughter the Dawkin’s didn’t have. Destiny lived with her grandma, but spent all her spare time with Trent and Sean’s parents as they gladly welcomed Destiny into their “family”. Everything was fine, until Sean asked Destiny on a date that eventually led to them being engaged. This devastated Trent as he “knew” that Destiny was “the one”, but he couldn’t deny his brother’s happiness. Trent and Sean enlisted in differing branches of the military. Trent came home, but Sean didn’t.
Fast forward 12yrs....Trent spots Destiny at the Ugly Mug bar. She’s there on a layover, enjoying the evening with her girlfriends and fellow stewardesses. Trent decides enough is enough. Destiny has avoided him since Sean’s funeral. Trent thinks she’s avoided him because he’s a painful reminder of what she lost with Sean. He is sooo wrong! After one too many shots, Destiny blurts out her secrets....
This novel is different from the rest in that there wasn’t an attempt on Destiny, but on Zip himself. In a previous rescue mission, Woof and Nori’s story-book one, Zip’s identity is blown. Thus, leading to an attempt on his life. It is action-packed, suspenseful, a tear-jerker at times, but does end in a HEA! Very enjoyable. I didn’t like that Destiny was so concerned about our’s opinions, but her grandma straightened her out! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
Destiny and "Zip" as his SEAL Team has nicknamed him have known each other since she moved in next door at the age of 5. There is a long history there and they have avoided each other for about 12 years since Zip's twin brother died while in the military.
This is a second chance romance that is filled with guilt, fears, insecurities, and an alpha male who thinks that he is protecting Destiny from his enemies by not telling her that there is a hit out on him. This story has more romance than action in it. This story's timeline I think is a little off from Nori's Delta in that Destiny and Zip meet in a bar after the team comes back from overseas and yet they go again and that is when his identity is compromised. But it was compromised in Nori's story so that was a bit confusing to me but it didn't detract from the story.
I haven't read too many of Ms. Jameson's stories but she does capture that angst and guilt of relief relationships. They are not all sunshine and roses and she describes there feelings so well. I liked the characters and think that Destiny's roommate is a hoot and a force to be reckoned with! I also loved that her grandmother raised her because that happens all too often in today's society. It was also refreshing to have a biracial character and have her speak a bit about her fears as a child growing up in Texas in a white neighborhood. Destiny is a strong character with insecurities just like real life.
I look forward to hearing more about Destiny's roommate and their friends in her new series about Desnty's fellow flight attendants.
Trent Dawkins has been secretly in love with his twin brothers girlfriend/fiancé since grade school. And Trent never told her how he felt about her. Even after his brother was killed. Now after 12 years in the service Trent see’s Destiny in a bar with her friends and she is looking beautiful and a little drunk, he walks over and says hello and asks if they could talk. Trent takes destiny toward the bathrooms while telling her they need to reconnect and Destiny tells Trent how she is still half in love with him and no they could not be just friends and stupid she was to go out with his brother because it was Trent she loved and then she had to go into the restroom and puke. So he takes her to his apt. and puts her to bed. Upon waking......Trent refused to let Destiny leave or talk, it was his turn and Destiny would listen, Destiny thinking-(was Trent pissed that she had so badly defiled his brothers memory by admitting she’d been in love with Trent instead), as Trent finished making breakfast. And now not only Trent’s life is in danger but because he is not going to lose her again Destiny will be in danger because of complications from his last deployment. Will Destiny leave him because of it and the sad memories of his dead military brother or is she stronger than Trent thinks. This is The Very Basic Beginning to a wonderfully romantic suspenseful mystery story. Once I started reading I could not put down.
At 5 years old, two kids, Trent & Destiny, fell in love and their love grew through the years until one started dating someone else. Destiny dated Sean, Trent's twin, to make Trent jealous, but instead he withdrew from their friendship. Sean and Destiny got engaged, Sean was deployed overseas and was killed, and a funeral was held for him at home. Next time Trent and Destiny met was at Sean's funeral, then they went their separate ways.
A decade goes by where neither find any true love then Trent aka "Zip" hears Destiny's voice and goes over to her table. Next thing Destiny is confessing how she feels about Zip and ends up leaving with him that evening. Zip has a difficult time because he has always loved Destiny. He want her to pick him and love him for him and nobody else. He still hung up on the fact that Destiny was going to marry his brother. Destiny doesn't know how to get Zip to understand she didn't love Sean when she got engaged to his brother. She went out with Sean initially to make Trent jealous and it got out of control. They are not the same people they were years ago so they wonder if they can make a go of it, but they know now they love each. You'll have to read the book to find out what happens.
I received a free copy of this book for a honest review. If you read Susan Stoker series then you will enjoy this series. I would recommend this book to anybody who enjoys romance suspense and military romance books.
Destiny's Delta by Becca Jameson is the second book in the Delta Team 3 series set in the amazing Special Forces: Operation Alpha world created by Susan Stoker. I knew I'd be in love with Zip and Destiny from the first moment I got to read about them together.
They have a lot of shared baggage, and it is heavy, and yet, it has absolutely shaped them into who they are today, and they are amazing individuals.
Destiny is sweet and charming and so caring, which is also why she can't help but worry about what other people think. She just needs to figure out if what she's feeling is enough to not listen and fight for what she wants.
Trent is the easy going affable one, but these feelings have hit him hard, swamping him from all sides with a heavy dose of the past included. Yet she makes him happier than he's ever been. He just needs to figure out how to right for what he wants. And make sure it isn't too late.
Their chemistry is sizzling and electric. Misunderstandings, miscommunications, memories, and shared moments build up this story to take you on one heck of an emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey and I lived for every single moment of it! I know you'll love it too!
We are back with Delta Force Three members whom we met in Nori’s Delta. Though this one could be considered a stand alone, I highly suggest reading book one since the events from that one, lead to the effects it’s caused in book 2. This time the story centers around Trent/Zip Dawkins, and Destiny Fisher. Trent is a warrior dedicated to his military life and his team mates. Destiny is the girl next door he and his twin were friends with since childhood and the one that his brother Sean got engaged to. Leaving Trent withdrawing from both of them. Shortly after they both enlist, Sean is killed in action and both Trent and Destiny are left not only heartbroken , but filled with guilt . Neither has forgotten the other, and when they truly get a chance to talk again after 12 years, feelings and secrets are revealed. But danger follows Trent causing doubts, fears and lies by omission. Will they survive emotionally and physically to get a second chance, or will the past and the danger always be between them? Another engaging story in this series. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
This is book two in the Delta Team Three series a multi author series set in Susan Stokers world and I have to tell you I absolutely love how all of the book for the entire team have been released at the same time and that they are by such wonderful romantic military suspense authors In this second book we get Trent (Zip) and Destiny's story
Trent and his brother Sean where identical twins and they grew up with Destiny after she moved in with her grandmother next door to them. Trent always had feelings for Destiny but his quieter brother was the first to ask her out so he stepped back after all Sean had saved his life when they where younger. Then Sean was killed on active service while in Afghanistan and Destiny was heart broken so Trent stayed away. Now they have met up again and there may be more to the story than Trent ever realised when he discovers that in fact Destiny always loved him and realised quite early that she had picked the wrong brother Will guilty feelings still keep them apart or are they finally ready to admit just what they mean to one another. But with danger facing Zip from that mission on Kazurus will it all be mute issue
Loved the book. In this book we get to know zip(Trent) and destiny(des). They were friends since the age of 5, along with trends twin brother Sean. So many years of love and friendship was lost when he stepped aside for Sean to be with her. Not knowing she was secretly in love with Trent and believed he didn’t love her. Omg so much miscommunication and misunderstanding. Then they lose Sean in war. He is conflicted because he lives her and she is conflicted because she doesn’t want to tarnish Sean’s memory with the fact that she never lived him more than a brother fate steps in and gives them a second chance but mission complications make life difficult for awhile. I could see both sides of the issues here. He was trying to protect her safety and himself from losing her after she lost Sean. And she hated that he hid something so monumental. But in the same breathe he is delta and she knows he can’t divulge things so why she assumes he could is beyond me. But he could have been more upfront about his safety due to issues from a previous stint without going into detail. Only mentioning someone was after him. Loved the book. Glad they got a HEA.
What happens when authors join forces and write their own story on one of the Alpha Delta man on one team....you get five books, each with their own style and flair brining to life each character in order. Next in line is Trent aka Zip who has been in love with Destiny since they were kids but his twin brother got to her first and now that he has been gone for twelve years...will he act on his feelings that are still true and strong. Destiny has her own secrets and has avoided Trent since her fiancée died, now years later in a bar, with liquid courage, she reveals all to Trent....how will he react. Now that the two have aired their secrets a threat is in the background to take out Zip for good....will he trust Destiny is strong enough to handle it. Another great instalment in the Delta series with Zip and Destiny getting their chance at happiness and love. A great read with steam, suspense, secrets revealed and great characters once again. I liked these two and how Destiny stands up for herself where Zip is concerned near the end, and how Zip gets back what he lost once again. There were some teary eyed moments that had me reaching for the tissues and can’t wait to see what the next author has in store for the next Delta. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Destiny’s Delta is one of the books in Susan Stoker’s offshoot Delta Team Three series that has been written by one of my very favorite authors, Becca Jameson and 4 other talented ladies. When I heard of this project, I was very excited to see what they would do with the characters, and trust me, this has been a visual and mental treat. I have absolutely enjoyed Becca Jameson’s take on Trent ‘Zipper’ Dawkens and Destiny Fisher’s story. Destiny was engaged to Zipper’s twin brother who was killed 12 years earlier. Zipper was in love with Destiny before his brother, but his brother saved his life, so he let him get the girl. 12 years later, in a drunken confession, Destiny tells Zipper that she was in love with him, not his brother. So he learns she returns his feelings. But a mission goes sideways and puts Zipper in the crosshairs of a dangerous terrorist, so Zipper decides to keep Destiny safe by keeping her at arms length. Will they ever get together? Pick up a copy and find out! You won’t be sorry!
The second book in Delta Team Three series is “Destiny’s Delta.” Trent “Zip” Dawkin saw Destiny Fisher at the Ugly Mug bar. Destiny had way to many shots that she told Trent how she has felt since they where kids. Trent was shocked but has felt the same way but he was being the bigger person since Destiny was his twin brother, Sean, fiancé. Everything came out into the open. They came to an agreement that they will give the relationship a chance but it will be on the down low. For Destiny does not wish to give hope or grievances to his parents especially when she was Sean’s fiancé before he passed. Trent was ok with that too for when on a Mission they saw his face and does not want them to come after Destiny and his family. To find out what happens between these two I believe as a reader you should find out. I highly recommend this book.
I was given an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest review.
Trent 'Zip' Dawson hasn't had any interaction with Destiny since his brother's funeral. Actually since she got engaged to his brother. He was in love with her back then and still is.
When he sees her at the Ugly Mug he's determined to talk to her, maybe become friends again, something other than this nothing.
Obviously, the conversation doesn't go quite as Trent expected and leads to even more questions. To top it off he was compromised on his last mission and Demir has sent his brother on the mission to find Trent and kill him.
Keeping things from his parents is one thing but this new relationship with Destiny really deserves better. Clandestine meetings away from his home are perfect for now, at least they were until Destiny finds out he's not out of the country on a mission. He's right there in Killeen.
Lots of relationship ups and downs, and some hair-raising moments for Trent and his team as well as some sizzling moments with Destiny.
Growing up, Trent, Sean and Destiny were inseparable. When Sean made his move, and Destiny and Sean became a couple, Trent swallowed his feelings and backed off. He didn't realize the depth of Destiny's feelings for him too. Now twelve years later, and after the untimely death of Sean, the two bump into each other. Chemistry in droves, the two are a match made in heaven, but there are obstacles in their way. Will Destiny be able to get over the guilt of loving Trent? Will she be able to live with Trent's dangerous job? Will Trent allow her in his life with enemies surrounding him? Becca Jameson has a spicy listen with this special forces story. It is a quick story, full of romance and suspense, my favorite combination. I love these two together and the Delta team is always there keeping their six with that family protective feeling. I enjoyed the story and will go back to pick up book one!
