ROUGHING IT 3: A Novel of 1863

Rate this book
It is now 2001, 15 years after my Roughing It, Too time machine adventures with Samuel Clemens. I had spent those 15 years on the lam, hiding out on Vancouver Island, BC and in Gold Hill, NV. In Gold Hill, as I researched newspapers from the 1877 era I had left behind, I found and read the obituary for my buddy, Deputy Lew Rafferty. He had been killed in the line of duty, and his two killers were due to go on trial five days hence. I immediately hatched a plan to return to 1863 and somehow save Lew from getting killed. Let me say no more, except that my effort was in no way as simple as I had hoped, fraught with twists, turns and bumps that still make even my head spin. Sit down and enjoy the ride.
