Re-reading a favorite from my young adulthood. (I was fortunate enough to get a complete set of the orginal issues at my Local Comic Shop for a great price!)

And wow! While I'm looking at it with a more adult eye and 30+ years expereince, but this immediately captivated me and brought me back to that time.

From the art, to the "flipped" format that used to be so common for translated manga, this is just a FUN read! No, it's not as nuanced as stuff that has come out since, but it doesn't NEED to be.

It's funny how much of "men's" comics, TV shows, and books are basically just soap operas with more violence. I suspect there are a lot of guys who would really love Days of Our Lives if they allowed themselves to

Proseguono le peripezie di Mai in fuga, aiutata dagli studenti dell'università, guidati da questo tipo chiaramente fuori corso da un pezzo, ma Kaieda la cerca con insistenza finché Mai capisce che per salvare gli studenti deve consegnarsi alla agenzia. Peccato che Kaieda nel frattempo abbia decise di affrancarsi (o tradire) la Wisdom Alliance.
Il capo della WA, questa via di mezzo tra Fu-Manchù e Nick Fury, decide di mandare all'attacco la sua adepta della Germania Orientale (si vede che era una storia scritta a metà anni '80) dall'improbabile nome di Turm Garten. Mai intanto ritrova anche il padre, ma lo scontro a più riprese con la Garten si rivela durissimo.

La storia si legge bene ma ancora molte cose non sono rivelate. Qual è lo scopo della WA? E perché Kaieda prima li appoggiava e poi li tradisce?

Comunque 3 stelle, perché sebbene su alcuni punti la storia sia invecchiata male, i disegni sono ancora decisamente buoni.

Beautifully illustrated by Ikegami, with some very recognizable spots in Ueno Park (the statue of Saigo Takamori stood out) and Ueno station. The story is straighforward, and connects Japan's extensive pantheon of supernatural beliefs with a more corporate/world government kind of tale, the antagonist resembling James Bond's Spectre.
