Swing Vote

Rate this book
Swing Vote tells the true story of how a small town called Foxboro dealt with the most controversial, emotional, and divisive time in its modern history—going to war over a proposal to build a gambling casino on Route 1.Proposed by the Kraft Group led by Robert Kraft in September 2011, and partnering with casino legend, Steve Wynn, it describes how the businessmen tried to win over public support with their propaganda. Unanticipated was a grassroots retaliation by a majority of townspeople, including those in adjoining communities. The casino project not only divided the Board of Selectman (the governing board of Foxboro), but also destroyed friendships, divided families, and created alienation within the town that will take decades to heal. In its path, it destroyed the lives and character of so many good people on both sides of the issue in its shameless path of destruction.
