Ice Queen by the talented author/attorney Felicia Farber is a fast-paced and engaging read on a timely and often ignored subject: sexting. The main character, Blair Evans, has not had an easy time in high school despite being a strong student-athlete, mainly because of some false rumor started her Freshman year by her childhood friend, now mean-girl enemy, Krystal. Things get worse when Blair and Krystal's ex, David, start dating. The conflict is already fierce when the first day of Senior year David and Blair are arrested for sexting. The twists and turns of their ensuring ordeal sheds light into the myriad legal and social complications of sending photos via text or email. How many teens have unknowingly opened themselves up to criminal charges by sharing photos (even ones that appear "innocent." )

Ice Queen does a beautiful job of exploring the harsh laws and punishments that jeopardize the freedom of expression for teens today. You may think you know the law, but do you? Read this entertaining and heart-wrenching novel that makes you cringe, laugh, and cry when good people are unfairly framed. And take notes, so that you can help save a friend from the same horrible mess.

We live in the age of internet where we all are connected to a single medium. We wish to make it available to the remotest parts but here's a question I have in mind do you guys think there should be a manual to use it ethically? We live in a cyber age where there's a very little which is private. I wanted to read something, a fantasy which involves these components and I got to know about a book called "Ice Queen".
As usual starting with the title of the book "Ice queen" is a title I found very engrossing. For a perfect title there are a few qualities that a title posses and they are present in this, first of all is the relevance to the story, then comes the understanding and lastly easy to remember and a catchy one. So I feel it's a perfect fit. Cover on the other hand goes well with the title. Overall the outer appearance of the book is appealing and I would give it 2/2 for the tile and the cover of the book.
Talking about the plot of the book, as I mentioned earlier it's a fantasy for young adults which had a very relatable and a different plot. It is story which revolves around Blair Evans who is a high school student but is very much occupied, the things get worse and worst when David who is Krystal's ex starts dating Blair. They are both caught up in a sexting scandal. They were framed but for it and now they have to find who did it? Now the story seems to be quite a normal one but the topic/theme this book belongs to make it a very different one. If I was to rate the book just for story I would say the story is predictable but concept of cyberwar makes is a very intensive read, with every page I turned the respect for author increased for writing such a book. I completely enjoyed reading it. The factor which I feel makes it a must read is relatability, to be honest I have heard of such things happening in reality and reading it in a fantasy story, I could picture all of it and now whenever I am going to hear such a news my mind would picture Blair and that's a very difficult task to achieve, I would like to congratulate the author on this achievement and also I am thankful of the author for giving me such an experience through the book. I would definitely recommend it to all the readers out there be it Young adults, teens and even adults. For the content of the book I would give it a 1.4/2.
Talking about the words and the language used in terms of difficulty, I would say the language was quite a simple one and also easily understandable whereas the choice of words was done nice which gets the credit for a smooth flow while reading the book. So if you haven't read it yet what are you waiting for go grab your copy fast it's available on amazon.

The author has spoken about a very common but unusual subject, cyber bullying. Now a few days this is very normal and is supposed to psychologically injure and torment the victim. The book would support pupils, teachers and parents tremendously. Particularly for students who are more frequently prey to this.

The plot continues with a presentation of Blair's childhood. She faces social problems in education, but she is a fantastic student. The famous 'Ice Queen' named Krystal is threatened and harassed. Class A, like herself and Class C, is the lowest class she puts Blair, split the whole school into castes & lessons.

When Krystal sees his ex-boyfriend David and Blair together, Krystal's dislike of Blair escalates. What comes next is a disappointing plan not used by Blair and David. When they come closer, they exchange messages, pictures and go to places together. One morning, though, you are both charged with sex and child abuse spread. Blair and David must race to locate the person who framed them in time.

The dilemma is faced by most of the youth. The author explains how these criminals are torturing the victims without worrying about what they are doing. We cannot monitor the perpetrator, but we can certainly train ourselves to take the requisite measures.

“Ice Queen,” by Felicia Farber

I loved this book. It had so much good representation of modern social issues. I thought the book was enjoyable and relatable. The book was written with the intention to show teens what will happen if they do the act of sending nudes online and whatever and also show parents to then talk to their children about it. With that said I unfortunately with the responsibility aspect of teens that the likelihood a teen would take this book seriously enough to not a behavior that they were going to do is low. Most of the time they probably say whatever until they are affected like the characters in the book. If they are going to do it, they will. The book was a realistic view into what could happen and I’m really glad I read it.

Thank you for the ARC, Hiddengems.

Compelling and fast-paced, but too obviously a "message" book. And it's hard to believe that a high school administration would allow the kind of behavior exhibited by some of the characters and that one person could have such power.

This book had an interesting concept and was relatable to the times we live in. While I enjoyed the writing, it reminded me of an "after school special"...kind of predictable with plenty of angst. It was just an okay read for me. I think I was expecting more, but I would read something else from this author.

BOOK REVIEW

"ICE QUEEN"

AUTHOR:- FELICIA FARBER

GENRE:- CYBER BULLYING

FORMAT:- PAPERBACK/KINDLE

MY RATINGS:- 5/5

📚The author has discussed a very popular but yet very rarely talked about topic, that is cyber bullying. This a very common now a days and is intended to hurt the victim mentally and torture him. The book will be of great use for students, teachers and parents . Specially for students as they fall prey to this more often.

📚The story is about a girl Blair Evans , who is caught up in sexting scandal. She is Trapped in this cyber war and realised that the laws which are to protect her are proving her a criminal. She is bullied by Ice queen and her friends. She decided to get out of all this but it's not easy at all. Some mysterious cyber attacks make her life worse, threatening her future and freedom.

🤔How will she get out of all the mess?
🙄Is there any way to come out of this ?

✍🏻This is something that you will have to find in the book itself. Because it is a thing that we all need to know.

✍🏻The book cover is really eye-catchy. It is totally attractive and the title of the book has great relevance to the story line. Keeping these things apart the thing that I liked the most is the story. The story is educating, interesting and full of twists. The way author has narrated it , it's even better.

✍🏻I was totally glued to my seat while reading it. Most of the teenagers face the problem. The author illustrates how these criminals torture the victims, without thinking what the victims go through. We cannot control the criminal but we can definitely educate ourselves about this so that we take the required precautions.

✍🏻I highly recommend this book to everyone. Don't only read it share it as much as possible because it should reach to everyone for our safety.

HAPPY READING

The story begins with an Introduction to Blair's life. In spite of being a great student, she faces social issues in the school. She is targeted and bullied by the popular 'Ice Queen' called Krystal. Krystal has divided the entire school into castes & classes with Class A comprising of the Elites including herself and Class C being the lowest in which she places Blair. Krystal's hatred for Blair intensifies when she sees her ex-boyfriend David and Blair together. What unfolds next is a deceiving scheme that neither Blair nor David see coming. As they get close, they share texts, photos, and go out together to places. But one morning, both get charged with sexting and spreading of child pornography. Blair and David have to race against time to find the person who has framed them.

This was quite an intense read, definitely a page-turner. Through this story, the author has shown the dangers of dating in the digital age. Teenagers are often impulsive and over-trusting. They easily fall for traps due to their inadequate knowledge of laws and regulations regarding cyber-bullying. The person who framed them was well versed with the dark side of the digital age and had enough knowledge of the laws to place the entire blame on the innocent couple. This is a fast-paced book but will keep you on the edge of your seat with twists and suspense. The narration is strong. The author has portrayed the teens accurately and addressed important issues relating to cyberbullying, revenge porn, sextortion, and court proceedings. I loved the discussion questions listed at the end of the book as they are thought-provoking.

A HIGHLY recommended read for people of all ages, especially parents and teenagers. The book proved to be very informative.

This is an amazing and highly recommended book! It’s the story of young people who, through the use of social media, get unexpectedly caught up in the criminal activity known as sexting. The author, Felicia Farber, does a fantastic job of character development and tells this story in such an intriguing way that I could not put the book down. There are some very unexpected twists and turns, making it very suspenseful. It also is very enlightening because the reader learns so much about sexting and the ease with which a young person can so easily and naively get caught in this illegal activity, one that can come with some very serious consequences. It is a cautionary tale of what can happen in the process of cyberbullying and demonstrates the potential dangers of social media. This book is a must read for everyone, especially for teens and young adults as well as their parents, not only for its highly informative and educational value but also for the very compelling storyline.

Recently I read the Young Adult novel Ice Queen by Felicia Farber. Story features two main characters Blair and David. Story is set at Westberry High School. Krystal is a popular girl belonging to Class A and Blair to class C. Krystal's boyfriend David Woods is ice hockey captain. As the story progresses, David and Blair will become friends and their feelings will intensify. But Blair doubts why a Class A guy would fall for her. Is it some kinda prank?

The plot of the story is intriguing. I couldn't put this book down until I reached the last page. Language of the book is easy to understand and Felicia has made good use of vocabulary. Cover page of the book has the power to attract readers. Narration is clear and in flow. Pace of the story is fine and I didn't felt bored anytime while reading.

Cyber bullying can have a very bad impact on the mental health of the teenagers/adults/parents. So, the main motive of this book is to educate everyone on the consequences of cyberbullying. Don't think twice and go ahead with this one. It will be worth your time.

I read this book recently and felt like this is a book that should should not be missed because of many reasons, most importantly I really like the fact that it talks about cyber bullying in a very intense and natural way through a fictional story. Things can turn upside down very easily especially in the era we live in, it is very easy to defame someone, but it's so hard to prove our innocence. This book follows a very well woven story which brings light on many ignored topics like sexting and more of all how high school pressure is not so fun, what it takes to be cool, how these things can change your life, in a way it's quite a dramatic filled with many twists but it's an eye opener and will surely prove as an eye opener to many people, especially parents and teenagers, it's heavy but not boring, it's quite thrilling actually and a lot of us might relate with it. The storyline is amazingly potrayed and written in an interactive way which will surely keep anyone engaged. Reading it, is a need of time. Go for it.

The content of the story is very interesting . The language is simple and clear so that anyone can understand it. The book won't let you get tired or bored by its wonderful work.

The story revolves around a girl who is being tortured mentally and emotionally by a blackmailer . It specifies how she gets into the trap. How lack of education and knowledge make teenagers do careless things .

The story has a message for every student, teenager, parent and teacher that you all should understand - Boundaries should be made from the starting so that kids are protected from these kinds of harrasment where they lose themselves.

Cyber bullying is not new around us . It's a very serious crime which has victimized a hell lot of children in it. The story briefs everything in a perfect manner.

And I would like to add that Trusting every person you talk to, meet and see is not always right in the end . According to me the story is very helpful for each and every person . It is a must-read kind of book.

Blair Evans goes to a high school where one of her classmates, known as the Ice Queen, is pretty much in charge of everything. The Ice Queen is the most popular girl in the school and Blair does not fit her standards for friendship or even a basic courtesy for her right to exist. Blair tries to avoid the Ice Queen, and her minions whenever she can, but she frequently has run-ins with them.

When Blair decides to go to a party, she meets a really nice guy, named Davey. The two of them hit it off and Blair has hopes for a possible relationship with him. Those hopes are soon dashed when Blair realizes that Davey is the Ice Queen’s boyfriend. Now, the Ice Queen is out for blood. Blair has no idea what is waiting for her.

The author tackles subjects like sexting, bullying, social platforms, child pornography and the justice system in this young adult novel.

The Ice Queen is an entertaining, captivating, beautifully written, unique young adult contemporary romance novel written by Debut author Felicia Farber. She is a new author for me, but the novel's cover and the story's synopsis drew me in as a reader. She uses her experiences as a lawyer to create a story that demonstrates the dangers of social media and how an innocent prank or picture can turn into criminal activity. The author creates realistic teenage characters and places them into real-life situations that so many teens experience, from cyberbullying and sexting to cyber-harassment.

Alot of cases of cyber crime are coming up lately because of the misuse of the internet.

Imagining get trapped into a sexting scandal that will lead to a cyberwar.

Blair evans who is the main protagonist of the story gets trapped into a sexting scandal which earlier leads to a cyberwar. She later finds out that someone has framed her and instead of being out of this, she falls deeper into this mudhole.
Blair and her friends are set out on the road to find out who is behind all these and why is the person doing the same?
Being bullyed by the ice queen of high school and falling in love with the ex-boyfriend of the ice queen, is ice queen really the one who is behind all these or is it somebody else?

The plot definitely seems to be interesting and the writing style too was gripping.

I especially loved the cover of the book too.

I loved this book so much I didn’t want it to end! I totally related to the characters and the plot was so fast-moving and intense and had that kind of edge-of-your-seat suspense that makes you stay up all night until you finish reading it. I’ve told all my friends about it because when you find something this good you want to share it. And who hasn’t seen how hurt people are when they’ve been cyberbullied? I think most kids will see themselves and their friends in this book.

Not only did I love following the high school drama and budding romance of Blair Evans but I also learned so much about the legal ramifications that accompany modern day sexting. A must read for teens of both genders!

This book was incredible and eye opening. Felicia wrote a well crafted book about cyber bullying and teen cliques and what can happen when teens are targeted in a scheme like this. She is also a lawyer and brought her knowledge and experience with the law into the novel as well. I highly recommend this book to teens, parents of teens, and anyone who is interested in this subject matter.
