Totally loved it !!!
It was such a captivating story that I completed the whole novel in a single day. The scenes have been created and described beautifully. And the story of Navya and Kabeer gave me chills. The way they met, the way love happened, the way destiny played with them.

The title suits the story very well. Also the way author has shown the role of Destiny in life...she has left me in deep thought.

Amazing novel.
Highly recommended.

This book isn't just a book. It's a journey. It takes you along a roller coaster ride of love, friendship, sufferings, hatred, destiny and what not.

The innocent and sweet love story of Navya and Kabeer will make you believe in love. The twists and turns will leave you speechless. And the way DESTINY plays with their lives will leave you in tears.

The way author had tried to cover a social issue like acid attack, besides a love story, is commendable.

I am grateful that I came across this book. It's my new favourite now..

A warm, fluent and cosy read.

The story takes you along with itself in the life of Navya, a girl who is too afraid to make friends and relationships and she has her own reasons for that....the reasons will unfold slowly as you turn the pages.

The character of Kabeer is amazing. We all need such a friend in our lives. The way he wins Navya's trust and makes her feel safe and warm in this cold world is appreciable.

The role of Destiny is unpredictable. The way it turns everything upside down in the blink of an eye...it is completely relatable.

I must say the author has done a great job👍

P.S. The copy was gifted by the author in exchange of an honest review.

This novel isn't just a novel. It's a package of emotions❤️
The author, in this novel of 257 pages, has shown everything...be it a beautiful bond of friendship, an innocent love story, an inspiration to move on from past, a social issue like acid attack, the toxicity of society, the family problems, the separation, the longing, the pain, the hope and what not.

You name it and you get it in this novel. Simply amazing!!

This story is about Navya, and her daily struggles as an acid attack victim. She moves to Manchester for an internship, where she meets Kabeer and falls in love with him. Leaving behind her difficult past, she hopes to see happy days ahead. Little did she know that destiny has other plans for her.
The story narrates an important aspect of the society, that is victim blaming. All the characters in this book are practical and each of them plays an unique and vital role in the story. The plot is not uncommon and the style of narration has a scope of improvement. The description of the smallest detail in the story made it more realistic to readers. Otherwise, it is such a beautiful book that implants hope in the reader's mind and can be read as a mind soother. Hope to read more books by the author.
I recommend this book to everyone especially if you love romantic novels.

On 21st December 2016, Navya Mehra gets the glimpse of him from her terrace as she was enjoying her first snowfall experience. She had moved to Manchester for an internship proposal.
.
Kabeer and Navya, their paths start to coincidently cross a number of times. Truly said by Neha- “It’s strange how random moments mould and shape our lives.” Destiny had really played well in bringing the two closer in situations. But Navya is constantly troubled by her nightmares which remind her of her past relationship.
.
Kabeer is really cute, no one can ignore him because-
1. he has a way of indulging everyone in his sweet talks.
2. he has a Pomeranian, white and furry.
Navya too could not ignore the caring gestures of Kabeer towards her but will that be enough for her to erase all the memories of her past??
.
Navya’s friendship with Amaira, Swati and Ankit proves that any place can be called home with friends who are just like a family. This book really touched my heart at various points. Without giving out too much of the book, I would just appreciate how the problems of Navya’s past and the consequences of it affecting her future was highlighted was commendable. These problems do arise in the society we live in and this book clearly points out to how wrongly those people involved are treated by us.
.
I loved that Navya and Kabeer understood each other and they believed in their LOVE. This is the perfect romance novel to read on a rainy day with some pakoras and hot chai. ☕️🍤

Destiny Played It Well is a love story that starts in Manchester where Navya has just arrived to start a new life for herself and trying to leave her troubled past behind. She no longer believes in love and want to lock away her past. Here she stumbles in the life of Kabeer, a guy with a golden soul and heart filled with love, who immediately falls for her. But the one thing Navya's old life has taught is not to trust people. And so Navya's story begins as Kabeer teaches to love again and live again. But no epic love story is complete without a few obstacles thrown in by the destiny. Will Navya and Kabeer be able to overcome them? Or will things end sourly?
.
Okay so I didn't really had much expectations from this book. I am a not a big romance fan and was totally skeptical of reading this but I was completely thrown off by it and in a definite good way! The story is very promising. Navya is a very conflicted character. She has faced things in life which has made her distrustful and now has trouble opening up to people. She is very skeptical of Kabeer in the beginning while Kabeer character is completely different who falls in love with Navya at the first sight. Now these two were adorable! I loved their codependent relationship dynamic. The story was great and the writing was easy and very fun to read. The story has all the right amounts of love, fluff and angst. It was fast paced with no dull moments. I couldn't help but love it despite all my hesitations ♥

'Destiny Played it well by Neha Mittal' is a contemporary romance novel about coming out of heartbreaks and again believing in love.
--
Navya, leaving her past behind moves to Manchester to have a fresh start. She has no faith in love after experiencing a heartbreak. Kabeer who lives close to her, meet her and falls in love with her. For him it's apt to say 'love at first sight'. Navya has no mood for engaging in a new love handle. But, Kabeer is adamant and tries to help her come over her dark feelings.
That's much of the premise of the story.
The best part about this book is setting and the characters. Author has crafted them beautifully. The only aspect I couldn't connect with is the story.
There's no uniqueness to be honest in the story line. Although, author has tries to create a moment of shock for readers which is suddenly didn't merge with storyline so well.
Overall, it's a great read for beginners and romance buffs.

The story develops smoothly with a romantic touch in it. It's a typical love story with two main characters. Every plot revolves around the protagonists' only, which is a good thing for me. It was precise and concise to the characters, no unnecessary details. Though a typical love story, it's a very good light read. Mostly in first person narrative the story maintains a good flow. Some parts were really captivating especially the picturesque of England and romantic plots. Talking about the writing quality, it's good. Easy and nice. Though the style can be improved. The female protagonist is fully developed but the male protagonist can be more developed. We came to know very little about him. Some printing mistakes are present but I like the cover.
.
MY EXPERIENCE:
I was longing for a cliché romance because I haven't read them for such a long period. I think this book didn't disappoint me. I really liked some romantic plots.

I simply fell in love with the story, the characters and everything else that I experienced while reading this.
Both the protagonists are extremely simple and ordinary people, the ones whose likes we have seen and known in our real life.
So then, what makes it special? The way, the warmth, the intimacy, the affection and the intricacies of love were slowly brewed between them.
The story doesn't rush, but I as a reader felt immense pangs at many times and really wanted to know what happens next and so on. Therefore it was a quick read for me.
At the end I was happy that it ended on a good note but I was sad that the story ended.
Also, another good thing about the story is that how aptly it reflects the society and prejudices, that we live and go through every single day.
We may choose to ignore it most of the time but when one comes under the radar of misogyny, one simply can't tolerate and has to swim through a lot of storms, find a new shore and start all over again.
This is indeed an electrifying debut of the author and I am eager to read more of her books in the future.

BOOK : "Destiny Played it Well"
AUTHOR : Neha Mittal
PUBLICATION : Locksley Hall Publishing LLP
PAGES : 257 (paperback)
GENRE : Romance Fiction
MY RATINGS : 4.8/5 ✨
.
🍁"Destiny Played it Well" is the best book I have read in romance fiction. The protagonist of the story is Navya, an acid attack victim. She tries fighting all her life, fights for truth even when her parents were not on her side, fights against society and more over fights against her fear that kills her everytime she thinks of the incident. To change her life and people around her, she shifts to Manchester.
.
🍁And their the story begins. A boy named Kabeer falls for her the very first time he saw her. He try to fill the void in her life by being her best friend in an unknown place and then her boyfriend. But is the life of an acid attack victim that simple..?! Wherever you go you'll find those people judging you for your past even if it's not your fault. Will something similar happen to Navya? Will Kabeer be able to protect her? Will their love survive after the truth comes up? Will they be able to take their relation forward? Read this amazing book to know.
.
🍁The way character Navya is portrayed is enormous. One can feel every bit of pain an acid attack victim goes through, those nightmares, those heart breaks and so on, list never ends. On the other hand Kabeer portrays the perfect example of society mindset that one can expect out of changing society. Language is simple. Story is fast paced. Little grammatical and typo errors here and there. Apart from that writing style is beautiful. If you are a person who don't read romance much, still I will recommend this one. Highly recommended for every type of reader.

💜 Happy Reading!! 💜

"Destiny Played It Well" a beautiful book on romance and destiny.
Both the protagonists are extremely simple and ordinary people. So basically it is easier to connect to the characters. The warmth, the intimacy, the affection and the intricacies of love were slowly brewed between them, which makes the story special.
The author has potrayed beautifully, how Navya was childish at heart and didn't care about people's opinions. The way the character of Navya is potrayed is boundless. One can feel the pain an acid attack victim goes through. Leaving all the pain behind and moving on in life is the most beautiful part. She was brave enough to overcome her past and never let her dreams die.
On the other hand, Kabeer potrays the perfect example of societal mindset that one can expect out of the changing society.
This book reflects the society we live in and go through every day. This is indeed a captivating debut of the author and a good book for people fighting with their destiny for love.

As the title suggest this is a romance novel with twists and turns, few games of Destiny and eventually a happy ending.

It's the story of Navya and Kabeer.
Navya has some past experiences which doesn't let her believe in love whereas Kabeer falls in love with Navya when he sees her for the first time.
Navya to escape her past has come to Manchester and Kabeer being her neighbour helps her to adjust to the new surroundings.
There's friendship and then there's a clash between the two.
Not to give anymore spoilers! When Navya feels she can't be more happy suddenly the shackles of past bind her present.

There's friendship, love and destiny!
The plot of the book is great, there's a major moment in the book which leaves you shocked because one doesn't see it coming ( atleast i didn't )
The narration is steady and quick.
The language is plain and lucid.
The title suits the book well.
The cover is beautiful and in context with the story.
The characters, the main and the side have their individual identity and every character comes out to be strong and Distinct.
The theme is not just of love, but also has some underlying social issues which make this book even more beautiful.
It's a must read for Romance lovers.

"If eyes have anything to do with heart and if heart has anything to do with purity I could say that he had the purest eyes I had ever seen."
•••••
It is a book by debut author Neha Mittal and I would like to appreciate the efforts that she had put in to form a plot so unique that it keeps you on the edge of your seat, because you never know how will the destiny twist the lives of the two lovers.
It was a quick read and the serene locations described in the book, helps satiate one's wanderlust.
Being an Indian, it was good to read how the author breaks down the prejudices related to acid attack victims, that too in a way that never seems harsh! There are so many more orthodox thinking and cultural stigmas that she deals with in the book, that it can prove to be an eye opener for the so called hypocrites!
•••••
𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀:
The book follows the story of Navya and Kabeer. Navya, trying to get over the devils of her past that have scarred her soul and had her believe that there is nothing like true relationship that can exist in today's materialistic world. Kabeer, for whom it was love at first sight, who is easily aquainted to anyone.
Will they be united? Will they get the love they deserve? Even if the odds are in their favour, will destiny entwine their souls together or will it separate their ways for a lifetime of misery?
•••••
The more I talk about it, I can say that the author has done justice with what she wanted to address through the book and I congratulate her for this accomplishment.

2.5 stars

The blurb of this book gave me a fair guess about the plot. A damsel in distress meets a prince charming.. cliche, right? But sometimes it's a bit fun to read cliche romance.

Navya has just moved to Manchester for an internship opportunity. There she meets a flamboyant friendly guy Kabeer in the neighborhood. Behind his friendly manner lies pure love for Navya. Soon they become best companions & solace for each other. But Navya has ghosts of miserable past chasing her. Will she succumb to love once again after having badly failed by it earlier in India? What will destiny have in store for them when they come together to be one, & break this news to parents?

The best part about this book is that it sheds light on an important failure of our society - acid attack and victim blaming. It's 21st century & yet we see it all the time happening still around us. Though I wish it was explored in a stronger manner, & had been the plot base. But the story got predictable completely midway in the book. Thus, I found myself reading it quickly as it becomes melodramatic filled with society cliches & a narcissist MIL.

The narrative style was a bit monotonous. Also the conversations between the protagonists were supplemented with too redundant details ('he said and came in front of me', 'I said, raising my shoulders', 'he completed my sentence'.. and this goes on & on..) Probably the author was trying to paint a picture, but it ended up being superfluous when most of it was either deductible or can be left to reader's imagination.
I enjoyed the book as one time read only. But couldn't feel any connection to the characters by the end.

"Destiny Played It Well " by Neha Mittal is Beautifully narrated Romantic Novel which become my favourite one after read it.
Kudos for author to write such a beautiful read while it is her first novel.

Story of Navya and Kabeer is heart touching and all things which we need in best read like friendship, love, emotions, suffer in love are encapsulated in this book very well.

The book is based on a fictional love story, Also it reflects the real face of our society too who discriminate with victim of acid attack besides of the real culprit. Who always thinks that it was somehow the victim’s fault that’s why she felt in this situation. Still everyone started judging her too because of her past.
It is very appreciable that author written a book on such a sensitive issue and also point out the problems of acid attack victim’s in such a fantastic manner.

The way author portrayed the story is magnificent, because every readers interest remains till the end And for every book it is the best quality.
Language used by author is very simple and narration is lucid.
Storyline is so captivate and interesting too the way author filled it with twists and turns it makes it even more astonishing.

Overall this book become my favorite romance fictional novel and want to recommend everyone who are looking for best romantic read.

Destiny played it well by Neha Mittal was certainly a bit of a good read. This book clearly portrayed how an acid attack victim truly feels and how that incident leaves a grave mark in their life forever.
This book has also highlighted some major issues such as:
1) Any relationship is not based on physical, it is based on understanding each other and being honest with other.
2) Some people still in Indian community blame the Acid attack victims even when they were innocent. This behaviour is solely because of orthodox thinking.
3) Not every man will treat you harshly. The right one will love you and be there for you always even when your past doesn't let him come close to you.
.
Some things which made me not have stronger connection with the book:
1) The story somewhere felt too filmy. It needed a bit of a reality essence.
2) Language was amazing of the author however some grammatical mistakes were there.
.
I liked how this book supported for the protection of helping the rape victims, acid attack victims, sexual abuse attack victims and other unpriviledged one.

"Destiny Played it Well" revolves around Navya who left India because of her haunting past and join an internship in Manchester, England as a Software Engineer.
Due to her past experiences, she doesn't believe in love and relationships and now wants to focus only on her career. But destiny has some other plans for her.

Kabeer saw Navya for the first time at her terrace dancing like a baby girl in the snowfall and instantly fall in love.

It was love at first sight for Kabeer but for Navya nothing was easy.

Will Navya accept Kabeer and his love?
Or does destiny holds something different for her?
I am not much into this genre and hence I choose wisely. But for this book, I was not sure and to my surprise, I find the story intriguing.

Destiny played it well is a story of love, friendship, hatred and betrayal.
And apart from this, the author has also mentioned the acid attack issue and how society treats the victims.

Both the cover and the title does justice to the story. Narration is amazing and the language used is understandable.

The only thing which I didn't like was the recurrence of a few words, I think the author should have used synonyms instead of repeating a word again and again.
If you like this genre then you should give this book a chance.

MY REVIEW:- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The cover is simple and beautiful while, the title is eye-catchy😍 and perfectly goes with the storyline. The language of the book is lucid and easy to understand.
To sum up, the storyline is very captivating and the narration, characterisation and the beautiful scenes created are just amazinggg. Author took initiative to talk about acid attack and life of victim afterwards through this book which is commendable🔥 it is not a book to read but a beautiful journey to take which will give you experience of roller coaster ride of emotions, love, friendship, broken heart, hatred, sufferings. The narration of book went back and forth from past and present but that too explained in smooth way without creating any confusion. It is very sweet and innocent love story of two souls which will make you believe in love and believe in destiny which plays a role in life and will leave you in tears. I like the way author added twists and turns in between the story which adds crispiness to story. By the end as each knots of twists opens up will bring chills down your spine and leaves in smile and tears together. Also, it'll leave their imprint for long time in your life. I really enjoyed this roller coaster ride read. So, definitely💯 recommended to all readers and specially, romance fiction lovers❤ go give it a read!
Thank you so much🌼

DESTINY PLAYED IT WELL:
As I'm very fond of reading romance fictions, i would say This is one of the best book in the gendre. So the story revolves around Navya an acid attack victim & Kabeer, a boy with open heart. the story strongly portrays what kind of life does an acid attack surviver has to live and how the incidence leaves a grave mark in thier life forever. The story focuses on an important failure of our society- acid attack & victim blaming. Navya- a girl with secret buried in her heart, and believes true relationships do not exist whereas Kabeer, a happy go lucky guy, falls for her and helps her overcome her past. the book strongly concentrates on how a true relationship should be, what true love is, hatred, pain and so much more. Read this book to find out how Navya turns out to be a happy and strong girl and do Navya and Kabeer stay together forever or destiny has some other plans ?

REVIEW:- DESTINY PLAYED IT WELL
AUTHOR:- NEHA MITTAL

“Acid Attack” is one of the mos brutual crime that would be happen in our society against females. Also besides of blamming the culprit, society always blames the victim for that many people’s thinks that somehow it was her fault. But it was not always true.
Hats off to the author to written an novel on such an sensetive issue because crime against women is always kills humanity and society who favour these type of criminals is also a criminal in my perspective.

Narration of the story is on the point and the way author described it all is also flawless.
Language used by the author is a bit tougher sometimes but the strong storyline and intriguing story surely able to gasp every reader interest towards it.

Book cover is simple but title is totally apt. to the book
Overall I loved reading this book and surely recommend it to all.
