The Faceless

Rate this book
Noir Rose, a horror and thriller author, always believed that the fictional monsters that she wrote about were just that - fictional. The true horror of the hideous beasts resided only within the gruesome tales she wrote. She never dreamed that reality could be just as cold and cruel as the monsters writhing inside her mind.

With the mysterious arrival of a personal invitation to a masquerade ball, Noir’s life takes a page out of one of her stories.

The Crows have come home.

Men cloaked in secrets and hidden behind white masks, earning them their chilling nickname the Faceless.

Noir should’ve ran while she had the chance, but the Faceless have set their sights on her. Now that they’ve found her, they’ll never let her go. They’ve waited an eternity for her, intent on using her to save themselves from the dark fate of their cursed immortal lives.

Can Noir find a way to stop her fate being tied to their own? Or will she succumb to their dark desires and break through their black hearts, lifting the curse forever? One thing’s for sure, she won’t come out of this the same person.

Because sometimes there’s beauty in the beasts within.

DNF at 63%.

I'm not really sure how to rate this, as nothing made me rage and it wasn't bad, I guess I just got bored.

I feel like the blurb, and a lot of reviews, promised somethjng I didn't really get.

The whole concept of the book seemed to revolve around the fact that you have this group of vampire brothers (and one sister) who all wear masks because they have been cursed by a witch to be hideous looking - but just their faces. The Curse can be broken when a 'black rose' learns to love them, despite their hideous faces.

Cue out heroine, Noir Rose (I couldn't take her name seriously at all) who they kidnap by threatening to kill her pregnant sister. Jump to a couple of days later and she's whipped off to their creepy castle when she agrees to be turned into a vampire and will try and break the Curse. She agrees because otherwise they'll kill her sister.

Now, you can see why I kught have some issues with the above, particularly as we get insta lust/love pretty quickly for a group of kidnappers who have threatened her pregnant sister.

However, I sort of could have forgiven this, as let's face it, falling for your captors is a pretty massive romance trope, but my biggest issue was their so called hideous faces.

So they show them to her before she's turned and she's just not really bothered. Apparently this is because her parents were morticians and she learnt to look at the beauty beneath that which can be disfiguring. Now, that's fair enough, but it pretty much took all of the tension or interest out of it for me. Especially when she just starts having sex with one, and his face is totally not mentioned at all. So it basically just causes no tension whatsoever.

At this point I figured the rest of the book would be her falling in love with them and then they're magically hot again, and that's not even a big deal because it hasn't even bothers her anyway.

So yeah, that was where I DNF.

Others may feel differently and like I said, it wasn't bad, just not interesting enough for me to continue.

Ever since I saw this beautiful and dark cover on KU, I wanted to dive into it. Yet, after finishing it.. I'm not really sure how I feel.

The Faceless can definitely grab you in the beginning. I mean, so many things were pretty interesting and kind of kept you on your toes. Well, that is how I felt while reading it. I just wanted to know why this mysterious family comes into to town once a year and throws masquerade balls.

I'm lowkey a little jealous because I've never been to a masquerade anything and they sound kind of fun. Especially with mysterious people. That being said, some things did feel a little bit off or strange. For example, the whole ritual to become a vampire did not sound fun. So, yeah, I wouldn't volunteer as tribute for that one bit.

Then there's the whole beauty and the beast retelling but with vampires. So, yeah I was sold by this whole black rose. Heck, I'm now wishing that the OG B&B had a black freaking rose. Ugh. Anyways, back to the Crows and Noir. Yes, every time I saw her name I thought of Pinot Noir. Then I got mad at myself because I was drinking some Rosé wine while reading this. Which is a tragic rookie mistake.

Anyways, Noir and the guys had crazy chemistry from the start. I was honestly a bit worried as to how things could go between them all since they only really got her into their home by kidnapping her sister. So, yeah, it wasn't off to a hot start for all of them. Luckily, their sister Mara stole the show (at least for me). She was definitely my favorite and kind of livened things up.

In the end, it was a bit unique. The ending that is. I'm happy that they are happy but it all kind of seemed rather lame to end that way at the same time? Eh, I was just expecting something completely different.

NOIR ROSE/BLACK ROSE is a horror book writer who isn't afraid of gruesome circumstances and have always been fascinated with death and the horrors the world offered. The CROWS were the talk of the town for centuries....The masked men... The faceless...
Now, Noir is invited to the yearly masquerade party thrown by the CROWS...
WILL NOIR find the mysteries and secrecy behind the CROW CLAN.? OR Will She succumbs to the darkness that surrounds her?

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen you look so peaceful,” I told him softly.
He smirked. “Because until this moment I didn’t know how to feel peace.”

I completed reading this book in one sitting...I mean who wouldn't love Three hot and dashing Vampires all to ourselves.

VAMPIRE+ DARK EROTICA+ REVERSE HAREM= BLAST OF HOTNESS AND A TONNE OF COLD SHOWERS FOR YOU.

The writer has successfully portrayed the power of love....LOVE CAN BREAK ALL THE CURSES. This book seriously gave me the beauty and the beast vibes...but here we have three beasts...

Love. That was the secret key to releasing them from their scars and their darkness. How could I have not known that?

A vampire RH retelling of Beauty and the Beast ? Check!
Three hot vampires under a curse? Check!
A sexy and compelling story I devoured? Check!

The Faceless grabbed my attention pretty much immediately and didn't let go. At first, I was afraid 294 pages would be too short for a standalone RH to give us all the feels and to develop the relationships but even if I would have loved another 50-100 pages to develop each relationship, I feel like the author did a good job.

This books is about the Crows, a family of vampires who comes back to town every year searching for the "black rose" that could be their salvation, the answer to their curse. They all wear masks and no one has ever seen their faces. When our main character, Noir Rose, visits and stays at her sister's house, she ends up having these freaky nightmares and crows (the birds this time) can't seem to stop following her. We never really got an explanation about these but I'm guessing it might have been part of the curse or something. Anyway, when she finally goes to the ball, sparks fly and not too long after that they'll find out a way to keep her with them. Chemistry is present with all three brothers.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was pretty good even though the ridiculous ending had me rolling my eyes...

Horror writer N Rose (Noir) goes to stay with her newly pregnant sister and brother-in-law and soon finds herself as the main character in her own horror story. Plagued by nightmares and sleepless nights, Noir becomes anxious and paranoid. She dreams of blood and death always to awaken to a crow. Then when the town attends the Crow family's annual masked ball, her dreams take on a new light. Three masked men claim her as their own. Helios, Seron, and Lynx have been cursed along with the rest of their family and they believe Noir is the one they have been waiting centuries for, the only one who can break their curse.

Beauty and the Beast adapted to a vampire RH. Mixed results. The writing is good in many ways. The banter is excellent, the relationships between Noir and Dev and Mara are strong and natural. I loved VR. I loved the gothic feel with the Icelandic backdrop. I especially loved the concept of the faceless. Not only does it hide the physical features but it allows the wearer to hide on a much deeper level. They can hide emotions, aspects of their personality, and in return forget or ignore who they truly are. It's a psychological disguise that was only briefly explored. I felt the book was less successful with the relationships between Noir and her men. It jumped from dislike or indifference to love too quickly. I was told about the relationships more than allowed to experience them. There were flashes of what could have been but overall the RH aspect was unsatisfying. Finally, a couple of questions, how long was Dev's pregnancy? The timeline seemed off. And why didn't the curse break for Mara and VR prior to Noir when they found love?

ALL MY REVIEWS CAN BE FOUND ON MY BLOG: ABSTRACT BOOKS

'Faceless' is a standalone fantasy theme written by the author K.B. Everly. This book gave away sereis beauty and the beast vibes , but here we have 3 beasts..

Noir is a Horror genre writer and not afraid of the outer world. She has a mysterious touch to her personality and has always been fascinated with death and darkness. That is until she is invited to a masquerade by the three hot men. What she doesn't know is that , those men are not of the human species..

This book contains all the feels of a dark Romance and this author did a perfect job of building up my interest right from the very first chapter! This book was a definite one sitting read for me and I am recommending this to all the dark Romance lovers out there, who love themes like vampires , suspense and reverse Harem.

Alphabet challenge - F

Wow, this is eye opening. My kindle F section is either fae/fairy, fake, fall/fallen, fate or fatal. I think I might have a type. I was not in the mood for this one. Picked because I wanted something outside the usual titles and at the same time get my ass in gear with the RH I've been slacking on. But yeah, first chapter in and I could tell I wasn't ready.

It's one of those scene setting ones where everything has to feel like a horror or goth setting. The names Noir Rose and her sister, the amount of black, crows etc. It felt like a typical vampire set up with the scenery screaming vampire set up. This was less seduction and 'mina' and more one dance, then we'll threaten her family and drug her. They need Noir to become a vampire...willingly. Threats and a bucket for a toilet? Ouch.

The sister single handedly works as pick up crew trying to endear her brothers. They may have drugged you but...etc etc. I did like Mara and Vile. Unsure about the husbands. Felt like they were there to add to the numbers. Strange thing about the cover. It makes it look like there are five guys, but Noir only gets three.

From there it goes to Noir accepting, yelling. Getting turned in a different method was interesting. Cue more rage and starvation. I didn't get any chemistry between them. It felt more of a means to an end, but lessons learned and all that. The moment they revealed what their blood could now do, I knew which way this was going to go. It was nice she gets to fulfil her and her sister's dream but it was predictable. Another time and a different mood maybe I would've enjoyed this one more.

The mysterious Crow family appears once a year in their small hometown, always seen in masks at their exclusive masquerade ball. This year one of their guests is Noir Rose, a horror author visiting her sister and brother-in-law. Noir is more than just a guest to the Crows -- they're cursed vampires who have been told that a black rose is the key to removing their curse, and they'll do anything to cure themselves.

Despite the fact that "Noir Rose" sounds like a wacky baby name a celebrity would use, she's actually quite a compelling character -- smart, strong and principled. She originally agrees to go with the Crows only after they threaten her sister, but as she gets to know their backstory, her natural compassion comes out and she actually wants to help them. I think the book would have been better if it were longer, since most of the supporting cast didn't get much separate backstory and character development, and they seemed to be interesting characters.

While most of this book is excellent, the ending takes a hard turn from dark romance/horror/paranormal into sunny Hallmark movie territory. I'm not going to spoil it, but it didn't seem to fit with the rest of the book. Still, it's a very good novel.

A buddy had let it slip that this was a loose retelling of Beauty and the Beast (obviously with some drastic changes) and to be honest without a heads up I never would have realized this. Noir is a fiction horror author and goes to visit her sister who just found out she's pregnant. The two are super close and nothing will keep them apart....yet! Her sister lives in a town with a lot of history and a mysterious family who throw masked balls. Awesome right? Even being new to town Noir receives an invite and nothing sounds like more inspo for a story than a night at a mysterious mansion mingling with mysterious people. Noir first meets the guys (3) at the party and little does she know how much her life will change.
I didn't find the book overly long but I do appreciate the author giving the men each unique personalities that made it easy to differentiate between them. And OMG Hell (yes that's his nickname) is such a prick-literally!!!! But of course we all know the more the asshole the more you end of loving them lol and this boy has his own red room of pain if you catch my drift. I enjoyed the story overall. Noir being a horror writer was awesome enough but I loved the idea of the party and the masks as well. The cover is absolutely amazing and I'm not usually one who gives two shits about a book cover lol. Just wish there was a bit more to the story and certainly more than the less than climactic end we got.

Is this supposed to be dark? The only “dark” I found was when I closed my eyes

-RH
-supernatural
-multi POV
-light BDSM
-kidnapping
-stand-alone

I’m just going to get it out there: I didn’t like this book. I ALMOST DNF’ed it a few times, but I was curious enough to see where the author went with it. And since she had me curious, I gave her at least 2 stars. This book was a beauty and the beast remake with a blood lust twist. The character/relationship development just wasn’t there, unfortunately. I think this was supposed to be a dark romance but honestly it read like a fairy tale where everything just magically worked out perfectly. I’m about to spoil this book, so if you don’t want spoilers, stop reading.

Girl goes to visit sister in a creepy, but cute, little town in Maine where she can write her next novel. While there, she’s invited to a masquerade ball that is hosted every year by the Crow family, also known as “The Faceless” since they always wear masks and have never shown what they truly look like. 3 men from the family hold girls sister hostage to force girl to go with them. Turns out they’re vampires who were cursed by a witch centuries ago because they let the power go to their heads and went on murdering sprees. What was the curse you may ask? They can’t go into sunlight (apparently other vampires can), and their faces are horribly scarred. So they force girl to come with them to break their curse, which entails her having to be made into a vampire willingly. Obviously, by this point we have gotten major beauty and they beast vibes so we know the ultimate task in her breaking their curses is for her to fall in love with them. And fall in love she does. How does she fall in love, you may ask? Well I couldn’t really tell you that because there was absolutely no relationship building in this dang book. She falls into a frozen lake at one point and the guys save her and all of sudden she’s so grateful for them and wants them so much. That’s it. From there on out we get her inner monologue of her growing feelings for them without ever really seeing much interaction between them to truly believe she could be falling in love with them.

“He despises me, he’s never acted like he likes me. He’s glaring at me.” But then goes to his room to have some kinky sex. “Oh, he would never truly hurt me, not in a bad way, I trust him” girl, he kidnapped you, held your sister at knife point and forced you to become a vampire. Get your shit together, please. Look, I love a good anti-hero, BUT I still want to see actual interactions that show us WHY and HOW the girl falls for the rude asshole. I don’t want her going from believing the guy hates her to being in love with him in 2 seconds with no explanation. Make it believable at least.

At one point, she even says she’s had no interaction with one of the other guys and that he’s completely pulled away from her and she goes and demands he tell her if he wants her or not. Look sis, first of all we haven’t really seen how you could care for him so much, but also, have a little respect and make HIM work for you. So she basically tells him he deserves to be loved and with one quick conversation a smile lights up his face, all his worries disappear, and they’re in love YAY. Blah. And then her sister is dying, so she leaves them after telling them she loves them but they need to let her go because she can’t be caged like a bird forever. Sister and brother n law have no issues or concerns about the fact that she’s been turned into a vampire. Apparently, the curse was broken when she left the guys because it was reveled they all love each other, and a month later the Crow family returns to Maine but had apparently already been there the whole month but hadn’t approached her yet. Turns out, when the curse was broken because they all fell in love, it apparently turned them back into humans! Oh my, a witch can cure vampirism that easily?! And now their blood can cure all other vampires. How wonderful!! Why? Magic, of course. But instead of the guys going straight to the girl they forced into becoming a vampire so they could give her her human life back, they wait a month to be sure that they will really fit into her life and that she wants to be with them. Wtf. So then they cure her, and they all live happily ever after as humans. What a crock.

Did you see how emotionless my summary was? Yeah, that’s how I felt reading this book. And let me not forget to mention the grammar errors that distracted me while reading.

HONESTLY, the idea of this book isn’t bad! It was quite interesting and I liked the beauty and the beast aspect. BUT, with the lack of relationship building and then they were all just in love each other, it made this book so bland and boring and actually quite irritating. I never even really had the chance to truly connect with these characters. They could have all died in the end and I probably wouldn’t have cared. I’m not trying to hate on this author, I actually think if she put a little more effort into it, it could be good

So what's better than a hot vampire? THREE hot vampires!

Okay so they're not looking so hot in the beginning hence the whole hiding-behind-masks BUT they're still vampires, and they're still sexy as hell 🥵 plus a little mystery adds to the foreplay right 😏

Noir really has no clue what's in store for her, she's the key to breaking the curse on these bad boys, but will she lose herself to them in the mean time? Oh come on of course she will, who wouldn't 😏😏

"Trust me, little rose. Then and only then will I be all yours and you finally all mine"

So we have Helious, the angry, dominant big brother vampire 🥵

Lynx the playful, flirty middle brother vampire 😈

And Seron the moody, broody little brother vampire 🖤

They all manage to worm their way into Noir's heart (who can blame her) and she gets her claws into all of them (lucky bitch 🤣)

Their story isn't easy, it isn't clean and plain sailing, but it's theirs and it's beautiful 🖤

'I pried my eyes away from the floor, slowly moving them up until I came face to face with the three crows who were about to murder me. Literally.’

Wow. This book surpassed all of my expectations and I read it within a day as I found it so hard to put down! I love any book with a message about the beauty within us too, so this is a no brainer five star read!

The Faceless is a Vampire Reverse Harem that follows the Beauty and the Beast trope and by golly was I here for it! I mean, three sexy vampires in a retelling of my favourite fairytale? Yes please!
I don’t know what it is but there is something both mysterious and alluring about the whole, ‘I want to suck your blood’ thing.

Noir Rose is a horror author who goes to visit her pregnant sister in the small town of Crow’s Peak. After hearing the town gossip about the Crow family Noir is invited to their annual Masquerade Ball; after that, she knows her life is forever changed. Will she be able to help them lift their curse?

Eurgh, the ballroom scene made me feel like the heart eyes emoji. It was sensual and steamy and was when I really became invested in this book and these characters. Noir is a strong, sassy female lead who doesn’t just accept her situation. The Crow brothers themselves are dark and brooding, and oh yeah, vampires. I fell a little bit in love with everybody, but mostly Hell who just for me had that extra something; the broody alphas are usually the ones I gravitate toward in a reverse harem.

This is the first Vampire book I’ve picked up since reading that popular teen series, you know the one, and this was a whole lot hotter!
I recommend this book if you love a steamy RH, don’t mind your reads on the darker side and are totally down for explicit scenes and light BDSM.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first KB Everly book and this definitely surpassed all my expectations of what it would be!

I was definitely engrossed from beginning to end. RH and vampires? Who would not get hooked? Don’t forget a mysterious town also with these vamps and things couldn’t get more intriguing.

This was definitely a unique spin on vampires and I absolutely loved it!

You guys definitely need to read this and I totally recommend it!

Well this started off well then fizzled out. I like the fact that Noir wasn't your run of the mill main character and that she also wrote horror and not romance. I liked how the guys got her and the ritual but it seemed after the ritual nothing really happened. there was a little angst but it was with her sister rather then her.

Omg this book!! This book had me feeling so much! It had everything angst, fear, love, heat, anger...ALL.OF.IT!!

What's better than a reverse harem? A vampire reverse harem!! This book was phenomenal!!

I loved that Noir was a writer who wrote dark and gory things. She wasn't afraid of the things most people were afraid of. She was intrigued by darkness and mystery which drew her to the Crow family.

Noir was a woman with a tragic past. After losing her parents, her sister Devany was all she had. Then Dev moved far away with her husband to a creepy and mysterious town. Dev's husband called Noir asking her to visit because Dev was having a hard time. Noir jumped at the opportunity hoping this travel and mysterious town would help her with her next book. Noir never expected the mystery to quite literally take hold of her and her life.

Noir is put in a position to be kidnapped and save her family or let them die. Sacrificing herself bf or her family. Noir finds herself with the Crow family. They are very cryptic in explaining what she needs to do and very serious when they say she cannot leave.

The Crow family are cursed and cannot show their faces to people because of the deformities. Somehow they expect Noir to figure out and solve a centuries old curse. Can she do it?

In the midst of this curse and trying to figure out what to do, Noir develops strong feelings for all 3 if the Crow men.

Lynx is the lighthearted sweet one. Seron was the broody loner with all the feelings. Hell was the angry dominant one. They all carved their way in to her heart, but could they stay there?

And their sister, Mara was a beautiful and kind friend that Moir needed.

The ending was a shocking twist that I didn't see coming but I loved it.

Do yourself a favor and read this book! Theres so much mystery and love and wtf happens next. I couldn't put it down!

Masquerade balls and vampires. Small, mysterious towns and curses. Sign me up!
I was pumped up to read this book. It checked all of my boxes. It’s also RH, and that’s never a bad thing with this type of story.

Noir is a horror writer who has always had a fascination with all things creepy. When she takes a trip to see her pregnant sister she finds herself enamored with the secrets of the small town her sister now lives in. After she attends a masquerade ball held by the towns mysterious founding family she is suddenly thrown into the middle of a centuries old curse and three faceless men who refuse to let her go.

This was a dark, unique, quick read. I found myself feeling like things were happening way too fast and I wanted more. I didn’t want it to be a quick read. I loved Noir. She was sassy and strong willed. There was angst and anger. There was love and heat. There was secrets and blood. I was totally wrapped up in the whole story.

This book was bloody brilliant! I was completely enamored from beginning to end. It was such a unique story that I was completely consumed with this extremely well written book! From the mystery and intrigue, to the love and lust, to the loyalty and family values, there was so much to love about this book!

Noir was a phenomenal character! She was brilliant, strong, sassy, loving and caring. She brought out the best in everyone around her. She genuinely had a heart of gold and was beyond loyal.
Then there was Noir’s men. Lynx, Helios and Seron were brilliantly developed characters each with a unique personality. They each brought something special to the story. And the growth they showed from beginning to end was amazing to watch.
And let’s not forget Mara, Vile and VR <3 they all brought incredible depth and life to this story that you couldn’t help but love them.
The fabulous character development in this book really went above and beyond and is one of the things I loved most about this story.

The character development, combined with the brilliant storyline, emotional connections built, and the overall theme/tone made for one outstanding story! This is a book I know I’ll go back and re-read just to live in this book a little longer, it was that good!

This book was an incredible play on beauty and the beauty trope with a unique vampire twist. A family of cursed immortals Are forced to wear masks in public due to their hideously scared faces. Can Rose be the one to break the curse? They sure think so. I’m a sucker for a good PNR. I love RH stories and when you throw in 3 sexy, brooding, centuries old vampires encased in mystery and intrigue... SOLD! Each one of these brothers were different and her relationship with each one of them was interesting. This was RH at its finest. It had the angst readers love and had the hot sex scenes they crave. Definitely recommend this read !!🖤🖤🔥🔥😈😈

AHH I love vampire books and it has been way too long since I've read a good one! And its a RH, two huge pluses!! To top if off you get masks, three men vibing Noir, so much mystery! This book is definitely a thriller and has a beast feel to it. Noir has sass to her and she seems like my kind of lady. Super edgy with a side of kindness that will bring the prince out of the beast. The three faceless men won't let her go though and Noir must delve into this dark romance and work her way through the maze of these vampires. Lots of mystery, lost of lust, maybe some of the Stockholm syndrome (hehe, who wouldn't get that :)) and totally awesome sexy scenes!

This was a great book! The Crow family is dark, elusive, and mysterious. This book takes you on a wild ride of self love and falling in love. Noir is a selfless, stubborn, witty character who’s perfect for the three Crow men.

I highly enjoyed this quick read.

3 star. buddy read

In many dark romances, there were tons of red flags in the beginning. Overlooking that, the character development was really quick and I wish the author spent more time on some scenes. The ending was a little too much in my opinion, but I understand why some authors do that. Also, I'm not sure why there are 'possible triggers' in the synopsis besides minor violence, but to each their own.

I Give this Book a 3.5/5 Listing as 3.

This is one of those books that has gotta be specified to what your actually getting, either in the synopsis or given a correct title.

Also the Cover needs to have the correct amount of people on the cover, cause the cover is a tad bit misleading.
On the cover you have 5 Masked Men, which might lead at least some readers (like me 😁) to assume 5 guys is what Noir ends up with, when in reality there are only 3 guys that she ends up with.
The other 2 are essentially side characters that aren’t really around much, and didn’t seem important at all except as mainly fillers.

This Is a Reverse Harem, BUT with only 3 Men, NOT 5.

Pacing: Was Much Faster than I was expecting in certain areas, Like being fast forwarded, and relationship building was very minimal to the readers viewing.
HEA(?): Yes.
Drama: 3.5-4/5
Suspense: 2.5-3/5
Romance: 3.5/5
Heat: 3-3.5/5
Dark(?): To Me it’s more Dark Lite if anything, but I Love DARK reads so the rating will be different from others.
I Give this a Dark Lite: 2/5. But in actuality I would NOT really call this Dark.
Relationship Type: Reverse Harem MFMM Only.
Overall Vampire-ness: 1.5-2/5
Vampire Blood Play(?): 0/5
Vampire Biting Kink(?): 1-1.5/5

So to me I did find this a bit unsatisfying sadly, I’m a tad confused and it’s not at all what I was expecting. 😔
This isn’t a bad review, it’s a good book but everyone has their own wants when it comes to paranormal books and in this case Vampires, and this was very unsatisfying for me in the vamp department.
The book was very good in the beginning and then it was going at a much faster rate near the last half and at the ending, and the story and a bit of behavior (to me) seemed to change a lot as well as get a LOT shorter.

And the story went into a whole other direction that I honestly should’ve seen coming, I didn’t think it was going to go so literal though 😔. This book is VERY Beauty & the Beast(s) in the truest sense, and being a vampire is a curse.

In the end can I actually consider this as a Vampire Reverse Harem? I Personally Have to Say, No.

It’s a Beauty and the Beast(s) Reverse Harem.

Am I happy I own this book? I’m honestly not sure.

What happens when you become the subject of your very own horror novel? When your life starts to imitate your art?

The Faceless is a new PNR RH novel by author KB Everly featuring Vampires? Tell me more! Noir is a horror/thriller writer looking for inspiration whilst keeping her older sister company after moving into a new house. Immediately Noir feels a pull to the town and the mysticism surrounding it, drawn to The Crow Family and their dark secrets. Almost immediately after arriving Noir begins having intense dreams centred around masked men, crows and blood. Receiving an invite to The Crow Family’s annual masquerade ball Noir ends up in a sensual dance between 3 masked men. Are these the same masked men from her dream? What do they want with her? This is only the beginning, get ready for a wild ride.

What a story! Think Beauty and the Beast, but with Vampires! One ticket to the the show please! The dream sequences were so eerily good! I even got goosebumps because of how sucked in I got. This really set the tone for the rest of the book. I appreciate how the authenticity of the story and the general atmosphere of the writing kept me engaged and invested from the very beginning. I am new to PNR stories but at the end of the day, romance is romance and this book did not disappoint. The character development was fantastic and I loved the insta bond between Noir and The Crow Family. Definitely a must read.

I honestly don't know where to begin with this book. This book gives you so many feels from the beginning all the way to the end. There is heat, there is angst, and there passion. I can't seem to get over how enthralled I was with the story of this book.

This story has mystery that will capture your interest. This story is perfect for a dark paranormal reader. What makes this even better is that this is a reverse harem. KB Everly gives you the perfect illusion of feeling terrified yet turned on all at the same time.

The characters draw you in just like you are being hypnotized. Noir, the heroine, is has a troubled past but will do anything for her family. The Crow family are all mysterious in each of their own ways. Each of these 6, well technically 7, family members holds to be a strong relationship to fit with Noir. The Crow family knows they need Noir for an important task, but they just didn't realize how much more they need her. Through all the struggles and difficulties this family and Noir have to deal with, only makes all of their bonds stronger.

I can honestly say that I did not, in the slightest, have a doubt that this would be a good book. This book doesn't hold out on the darkness level. I definitely recommend this one.

Oh wow!! Such a great Book KB!!! I think The Faceless has just became my favorite of yours.

The Character of Noir, a horror writer, and how her journey happened, just had me rooted to my kindle. I was not expecting somethings through out the book and honestly just enjoyed reading this dark read.

So the story goes where Noir is visiting her sister, who has just moved to this new town that is like out of a horror story. So of course Noir is excited to scope the town. Little does she know that she has caught the attention of The Crows. For they have come home, they throw their yearly masked ball. There Noir meets Lynx, Helios and Seron. They are not ordinary men, and they always wear a mask. They dance with her, and she feels an unusual connection to them. This is where her life changes, maybe not for the better.

I was blown away by the storyline, the plot, the characters, and the pace was spot on. Everything flowed together nicely. The guys you really want to hate at first but really by the end I came to cheer for them. Noir is a great character, I connected with her from the start. I probably would have fallen for the guys faster though. Overall this was a great read that I really enjoyed and would recommend.

Imagine if Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire and the beloved Fairytale Beauty and the Beast had a book baby.. that is what I felt the entire time reading The Faceless!

I have never read KB Everly before but not only was I pleasantly surprised by how much I loved it, I also found all the characters hauntingly perfect. The name Noir was perfect and so unique! The Crow men were positively spine chilling in the best of ways, there was just so much to each of them that I could not get enough. The author wrote some POV chapters so we could get a better understanding of their emotions and behaviors, and it was one of my favorite aspects of this book. I absolutely one hundred percent love when we get multiple POV chapters, it brings such a perfect binding to the book! Readers will fall in love with all the enchanting moments between Noir and her Crows. I know I did!

I highly recommend this book especially if you love a combination of gothic-twisted age old vampire stories that stem away from the norm with a little fairytale retelling pixie dust!

Review by @peek_one_book

What can I say about this wonderful book? I am speechless!

🔸️ You know that book that you give nothing and it becomes everything? Well, Faceless is that book. In many moments it reminded me of Beauty and the Beast, true love breaking curses.

🔸️ Vampire harem, a young lady writer of horror and suspense books.

🔸️ With a wonderful gothic setting, this book starts with our little girl going to visit her pregnant sister to help her, she always felt out of sync, she couldn't fit in the middle.

🔸️ The town has an amazing story of an old family who always come back one time of year and have a masquerade ball and everyone in town is invited.

🔸️ Our young lady and her sister and husband receive the mysterious invitation to the big ball from the family who always wore white masks.

🔸️ A night full of mysteries, old dresses and masked people is transformed when three men from that family pull her to dance.

🔸️Romantic, hot and unique book! Your heart will be warmed by this story.
