Garrison Chase #3

All The Good Men

Rate this book
Senators are being murdered. From both sides of the aisle.
A bipartisan killer is on the loose, and only one man can stop them.

Garrison Chase has done it all: A sniper in the Marines. A covert government operative. An agent for the Bureau. Now he’s opted for a quieter life in a sleepy coastal California town.

His skills aren’t going to waste, however, as he occasionally works for a friend who owns a security firm in Washington, DC. And Chase’s latest job—protecting a United States senator from a threatening colleague—thrusts him right back into the action when he barges into a private meeting between the senators only to discover a bloodbath.

Though it looks like a murder-suicide, Chase has his suspicions. He’s convinced it’s a setup, that someone else was at the meeting. But nobody believes him. Not the local police or the feds. Everyone wants the case wrapped up neat and tidy.

When two more senators are targeted, one murdered and the other abducted, the feds finally get involved. But Chase is one step ahead and has already tracked down the killer. Now the real investigation can begin.

As Chase peels back the layers, dark secrets and a deep coverup are revealed. The only way to stop the chaos and expose the truth, is for Chase to enter the dangerous and dirty waters and tread alongside the Washington elite.

All The Good Men is a riveting thriller with copious amounts of action, twists, and edge-of-your-seat thrills to keep you glued to the book without question.

All The Good Men follows Garrison Chase, a former FBI agent now working as a subcontractor for his friend’s PI firm focusing on power player clientele in Washington. Dropping right into a staged murder-suicide, Chase deduces early on that things are not how they seem, and there is a bigger conspiracy at work in the shadows. Indeed, there is. The narrative is told highly effectively through Chase’s POV to keep the story moving at a fast paced while keeping the storytelling grounded with the actions and emotions of Chase and his friends who aid him in getting to the heart of the conspiracy.

I immediately took a liking to the unpredictable nature of the story, delving into smart twists and turns to keep the narrative sharp and intriguing. I was constantly on the edge of my seat, burning through the pages to find out what happened next with each chapter. I immensely enjoyed the focus on the details of what Chase observes and acts upon, a technique that highly aided the vibe of detective/mystery solving thriller as well as making events and sequences relatable for readers. The author does a great job of injecting fresh blood into the series in the form of a determined FBI Agent Ramona Sanchez, who aid Chase and his partner, Slim, with the investigation. Their dynamic felt incredibly natural and interesting to invest my emotions in.

The author also steps up the action in this thriller. Garrison Chase is not only a sharp mind, but also a dangerous weapon, taking on his adversaries in brutal and realistic hand-to-hand combat sequences, one of which has to be one of the best hand-to-hand combat sequences I have ever read, involving Chase and his partner take on bad guys in spectacular flurry of punches and kicks. While I would have liked to see more shootouts, there is a fantastic shootout in close quarters between two highly skilled individuals, one of them ofcourse being Garrison Chase, with descriptive and accurate tactical movements and equipment that had me smiling ear to ear. Another plus point is the description of the weapons, which adds to the realistic vibe of the thriller. I am hopeful and confident the author will continue to build upon some already awesome action sequences into his next thriller.

I find Garrison Chase to be a unique character. At the cost of losing time spent with his loved ones, he chooses to seek justice without having an actual obligation to do so, showing him to be a man of honor and integrity with a strong moral compass to do the right thing. Another interesting fact I find about him is his propensity to avoid violence. While Chase is not one to shy away from rising to meet a violent adversary, his initial choices are always to subdue his opponents in nonviolent ways, actually beneficial that way since he has to question the suspects he encounters. But more than that is his realistic fear of not falling into the abyss of violence. There are moments where he faces challenges with this prospect, but he rises above them.

Even if you have not read the first two books, which I highly recommend readers to read, this thriller is just as excellent on its own, giving readers the necessary backstory while building the new narrative. A non-stop thrill ride packed with strong emotions to rile the readers to want to seek justice along with Garrison Chase, I found this to be highly impressive. A must read for all readers!

Early entitlement included fatal flaws. Some such privileged young people became U.S. Senators. Garrison Chase flew to Washington D.C. to provide personal protection to such a Senator. What could be more straightforward, especially after Chase's complicated assignment in A Thin Line? Once Chase discovered the challenges of this new and demanding contract, he focused on doing all possible to solve the murders and reveal buried secrets. For the most part, the crime solvers collaborated with one another in respectful ways. My favorite citizen with a privileged past, Hattie, acted according to her own rhythms, trusting no one. Demands on Chase and his teammates grew exponentially. Toward the end, the story's momentum caused me to read faster as the intricate story unfolded. I finished with complicated thoughts about privileged youth and their ethical obligations to a civil society.
Thank you for the opportunity to read All The Good Men in advance of publication. I look forward to more books by Craig Hooper.

A amazing continuation of the Garrison Chase series. Although this is the third in the series it can also be read as a stand alone. But you will enjoy it so much, you will want to go back and read the first two of the series in order!

Action packed the whole way through, Garrison Chase leaves California to help a friend out on a case in Washington DC. It gets more complicated than he initially thought, and more dangerous too!

You won't want to put it down to find out what happens next.

He solves secrets that had been kept hidden for years. I especially enjoyed the ending, I won't give it away, but you will be so pleased with it. Very clever way to make sure the last bad guy gets what he deserves!!!

This book would make a fantastic movie!

I can't wait for the next in the series!

“All The Good Men” by Craig N. Hooper is another riveting read in The Garrison Chase Thriller Series. It follows the work of former FBI detective Garrison Chase. He is presently working for a private investigation agency and has been assigned to protective services for a US senator in Washington. In his initial meeting with the senator he is told that the senator has received threats from another senator and they are meeting the next morning to resolve their differences. The meeting takes place and ends in what looks like the murder-suicide of both senators. Immediately this book grabs the reader’s attention. This book has murderers, crooked politicians, and plenty of greed, deception and intrigue that makes for a riveting read. There is a good flow that is accomplished in various ways. He introduces new characters by giving the reader a one page chapter to introduce them but leaves you wondering where the fit in the overall plot. There is a lot of detail in the story however the author moves seamlessly from storyline to storyline without losing our attention.
The final unpredictable chapter wraps up the last loose ends leaves us satisfied that justice has prevailed.

I’m impressed with Craig Hooper. This is his first book and I think it’s a winner. Actually, I’m amazed as Book Bub made this a freebie. That’s usually the case when the author isn’t well known or the book isn’t well written. Not so with All the Good Men. From the moment you meet Garrison Chase you know you’re in for a thrill-packed ride. It seems like someone is out to sully his reputation and he can’t figure out who or why. Not one to shy away from trouble, he tackles it head on. There’s only one thing that concerns him and that’s keeping partial custody of his young son.
Hooper’s characterization excels in the governor’s son, Stanley who comes off initially as a nerd and might be dismissed as bland. Then there’s the smart, FBI lady agent, an appealing although he believes unavailable gal who aids and abets him. So many twists and turns keep you on the edge of your seat you need to pay rapt attention because nothing is as it seems to be.
I’m looking forward to the next book. I enjoyed this one so much.

All the Good Men the third book in the Garrison Chase Thriller Series by Craig N. Hooper. Even though this is the third book in the series it can very well be read as a standalone, I will bet when you are done with this you will want to go back and read the other two books they are that good. Mr. Hooper wrote a wonderful story which drew me right in, making me forget everything else and did not let me go until I turned the last page. This book has plenty of twists and turns to keep you turning the pages. The story is very well written and the characters well defined and believable. You will not want to put this book down, I stayed up past my bedtime because I could not put it down I needed to know what was going to happen next. If you like sit on the edge of your seat thrillers this book and series is for you. I can’t wait to see what Mr. Hooper has in store for us next.

I offered to read this book for a friend and former colleague, but within a few pages I forgot about that. It’s a page-turner. Two US Senators are found dead; an apparent murder suicide. Garrison Chase, a former FBI Agent who left the bureau under a cloud, had been hired to guard one of the Senators. He alone knows it was not a murder-suicide: someone killed the Senators. From there the story moves from Washington, D.C., to Montana to the Maldive Islands, with twists and turns involving secrets of the rich and powerful, left-wing militias and the latest in weaponry. Of course, Chase has history and evolving relationships that I hope will be explored in the author’s books to come. Garrison Chase is one of the Good Men this genre will embrace.

This is the 3rd in the series about Garrison Chase. Chase was a sniper in Marines, then he worked for the FBI, now with having his son full time, he wants to be closer to home.
Trying to live a quieter life with Simon, he takes an assignment with his best friend and PI,
Slim. Slim works cases with lots of politicians, and Chase's latest assignment is to
add security for a Senator who has received some death threats.

As usual, Chase just doesn't have one case that doesn't turn into all out war. When the Senator is killed and ruled a murder-suicide, Chase knows something is wrong. Now when another Senator has been killed and one kidnapped, he must find out what is happening and why are these Senators being targeted?

Chase's adventures are thoroughly engrossing; you can't wait to see how he and his colleagues unravel the tangled knot of intrigue. Hooper's skill as a writer and and imaginative creativity are on full display in this third of a series. All the cares of the world will fall away as you become part of Chase's foray into the nation's highest power structure. You will not want to put it down!

Politicians

Chase is in Washington working for Slim's PI Agency. His job is to provide protection for a Senator who received death threats. Sounds easy enough but like all of the Chase encounters things go astray. Murders and kidnapping of Senators are just a few of the twists you need to follow to solve this one.

Just like the first two books in the series, All the Good Men has you hooked from the first chapter. It’s a story with non-stop action and suspense. The kind of book that makes you say “just one more chapter...”. I couldn’t put it down!!

Garrison Chase series is a good read.

The first 2 Garrison Chase series books were better than the 3rd (All The Good Men) but books 4 & 5 are worth considering after the excellence of books 1 & 2.

I have loved this entire series so far. This third installation in Garrison Chase's adventure was full of suspense and surprises. I found it to be engaging, hard to put down and a great read overall. The character development is fantastic, they are relatable and genuine in all aspects. The author's ability to write in a concise, yet descriptive manner allows the reader to truly "watch" the story play out in their imagination. It's a great thriller/suspense story, and I can't wait to read more adventures of Garrison Chase in the future.
