Rosalind Fletcher is a witch but that's not her only secret. Her one-of-a-kind wedding cakes are infused with a loving spell that produces long-lasting marriages where the men never stray, the women don't nag, and none of the blissful couples end up in divorce court.

What happens when a bewitched cake testing falls into the hands of the wrong person? Like her worst enemy and frequent collaborator Ashley Benedict, former NFL player now third generation wedding planner, who accidentally eats a sample meant for his clients? All hormones break loose!

Surrendering to Ashley's lustful appetites proves far easier than finding an antidote, for the conflicted low country witch with a sweet tooth for the blond tight end.

Can Rosalind alter the bewitching powers of a hundred-year old spell before things get out of hand? Will she let her conscience guide her to a remedy or will her heart lock them both in a sham?

Publisher's Note: Hexes and Oh’s was previously published in 2009 under the title, Forever, I Do. Although the basic plot has not changed, the story has been expanded by eight thousands words.

Koko Brown

Koko Brown is the pseudonym for a quintessential erotic romance junkie who once read over 200 Zebra Club novels the summer before her senior year in high school.

Koko’s writing career began at the tender age of nine when she self-published and distributed a newspaper to her fellow classmates. Unfortunately, her grade school school principal didn’t appreciate the competition and put her out of business after one best-selling issue.

Undaunted, Koko continued to write and read everything she could get her hands on. She honed her writing skills as a staff writer on her college’s newspaper, writing obituaries for the local newspaper, and teaching English to high school students.

One day while daydreaming in bed, Koko came up with the idea for her first erotic manuscript. Taking a hiatus from teaching, she had enough time on her hands to flesh out the story in two short weeks. A week later, she cleaned it up, then sent it to Ellora’s Cave during the Christmas holiday. By January she heard from one of their editors and by March (and many revisions) she signed a contract for her vampire novel Charmed.

Calling the east coast of Florida home, this multipublished author of interracial erotic romance loves to travel, shop in thrift stores, ride motorcycles, renovate houses, and volunteering.

HEXES AND OH'S was a fun and flirty read and it ended up being a lot sexier than I was expecting so I was happy about that. Overall this has a contemporary feel and the paranormal aspect is more subtle though Rosalind does a few charms and spells throughout. I loved the set up for the book -- Ace accidentally eats a love spell infused cake meant for someone else. Of course, Ace has had feelings for Rosalind for a long time but she hasn't appeared to show any interest back. We're told several times that Ace and Rosalind are enemies and get on each other's nerves constantly but we never really see it in the book. Because of this it never really felt like the enemies-to-lovers story it was set up to be.

I liked Ace and the way he pretty much worshiped the ground Rosalind walks on. Once he realizes that Rosalind is interested back he goes all in. With an abundance of southern charm Ace is used to women wanting him and it's made clear that he's a player and everyone around town knows his reputation. Unfortunately, that was about the extent of Ace's character development and I wish the authors had gone a little deeper so we could learn more about him; he's especially underdeveloped next to Rosalind. I really liked Rosalind and we learned a lot more about her throughout the story. She's worried that Ace doesn't have real feelings for her and it's all just the love spell and her attempts to get Ace to eat the antidote were funny and entertaining. The chemistry is front and center with this couple and they were perfect for each other.

*4.5 stars*

I enjoyed this novella sooo much! Rosalind and Ace had tons of chemistry and their love made me feel all tingly. Plus Rosalind was a dessert-baking Gullah witch? Hell yea!

There were a few typos but otherwise this book was *chef’s kiss* Am looking forward to reading the next in the series!

Rather enjoyable

It's been awhile since I've read a book that held my attention like this one that didn't have a shifter in it.
This was fun to read.

Series: Low Country Witches #1
Rating: 3 stars - I liked it

This was a short and steamy story. Ace accidentally eats cake that has a love spell in it and it intensifies his feelings for Rosalind. They can’t keep their hands off of each other after that. Rosalind spends the majority of the story trying to break the spell on Ace because she doesn’t believe he actually cares for her. Ace basically worships Rosalind from the very beginning. Unfortunately that is about the extent of his character which was a bit disappointing. This was an enjoyable low-key paranormal romance with a love-spell that finally pushes two people together.

Trigger warnings: several instances of racist remarks by side characters

Cute, sweet and sexy

Very cute sweet and sexy story. just enough umph to get your motor running and a nice little love potion number 9 type of twist. Enjoyable story and enough steam to need at least a luke warm shower.

Good Read

It is a fun read about a cake being eaten by the wrong (or maybe the right man) after all. He won’t back down after he has a taste.

I enjoyed the characters and their romance. The author dies include some real life challenges too.

Appreciate this

This was a nice short read. I appreciate the characters and the driver they had. I love the characters chemistry and when the mom tries to explain certain things to her witchy daughter. It’s worth a read.

Hexed

I loved the way this book dealt with interracial relationships. Not everyone has the same thought process and it is evident in this book. But the way the the couple handled it was the best. Love has a funny way of showing up when you least expect it in unimaginable ways.

Hot Makeover!

The first story was a very good and enjoyable read with some smoking hot love scenes. This reboot was even hotter and had even more to story to it. Somethings were changed but it didn't take away from it or the smoking chemistry between the characters.

Love this author

I'm a big fan of Ms. Brown. I really like her down to earth books. Even the fantasy ones. She's a great writer and she makes her characters relatable.

Rosalind and Ace

I love how this book is romance with a secondary of paranormal. Rosalind comes from a strong family and her character only gets stronger once she has free malt learned about her true family secret!

This book is a good example of the need to read through your work before publishing. There were not just editing errors, but the timeline was inconsistent, and sentences along with an entire paragraph were repeated. That being said, the premise, Rosalind the heroine and Lucille her assistant were strong characters. Ace's character was not as strongly developed. Also, we met a lot of people from Rosalind's world but not so much from Ace's. He and his mother share the business yet the three of them the mother, Rosalind, and Ace never interact.

What a quick read! I devoured this book faster than that sexy hunk of a character was able to eat the cake...

I loved the the entire premise of the book and felt right at home with the southern charm put on by its characters. I wish I would have gotten more of Benedict and his initial interest in Rosalind; it would have made his interest much more believable. Much of the story felt rushed but I was just happy to be along for the ride.

I truly appreciated how the main characters handled the response to outsiders opinions on their interracial dating. I kind of wished they explored that amongst themselves.

A fun little fast read. The writing's not great, and there are a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes (no I'm not talking about the Gullah vernacular, obviously that is on purpose and culturally significant, so it has every right to be there). I love the twist with island tradition in the black community. That was the best part. Love scenes are sweet. Obviously the whole thing is an unrealistic floof of a romance, but that's, like.... what I was looking for, so full marks for that. I give it only three stars because 1) it's not high literature, 2) very short, 3) the plot is very very very simple. Still a good time!

Funny Smart and Sexy

Loved the story of Rosalind and Ace. Rosalind is a successful baker who specializes in wedding cake, however she has a secret and that secret is why her cakes are special. She is a witch and by accident Ace her nemesis just tasted her sample cake and believes he is in love with her. Now Rosalind has to find a cure as she tries to keep Ace at bay. This is the beginning of the fun. The author gives us humour and romance. Well written. Not many stories get a five star rating. This does.👌

Witches Brew or is it Love Portion#9😉😉

Fast read, the heroine bakes wedding cakes. In the sample cakes she bake she put a special little something something in it ( a love portion) for the soon to be bride and groom. On this day the bride and groom cancelled their taste test. The wedding planner happens to sample the cake and he falls head over heels in love with the baker. Cute how she is trying to break the spell. This is true love the hero has been in love with her since elementary school. There is a HEA and a lot of HOT SEX.

Needed an editor - lots of spelling mistakes and needed more commas?

Honestly wanted it to be longer! Wanted more angst, wanted more background to her and Ace's tumultuous history (could have been an awesome enemies to lovers story!), more abt his history w his family and the NFL, etc. Sexy times were great but needed more filler to give them more depth.

Needed more witchy stuff - loved the Gullah and voodoo layers and wanted more of the richness of that culture and history as part of her witchy history.

Great book!

I really enjoyed this book. The romance was off the charts. The book it self was a little to wordy. It was a little to lo g. But the chemistry between Ace and Roslind was oh so hot!! Loved the storyline. Loved when she did her hexes it was so funny. I truly recommend this book. I bought it last year and forgot about but ran across it again a few days ago and could not put it down, can't wait to read the next one in the series. You will not be disappointed.

This quick and charming read follows a baker who specializes in wedding cakes. With a secret twist - her samples are laced with a touch of love magic! When the bride and groom cancel their taste test, the wedding planner takes a bite and falls head over heels for the baker herself. Now, she must find a way to break the spell, all while discovering a hidden childhood connection with the smitten planner. Is this a case of enchanted love or true feelings waiting to bloom?

This is chick lit mashed with erotic romance. I say this because I laughed through this steamy read. It was cute that Rosalind ran around like a chicken with her head cut off, practically poisoning the hero to cure the loving spell she think she's cast on him. I like the Gullah magic and the overall chemistry of the couple. The twist at the end was cute

Not far from a 5

I loved the storyline and the main characters are funny and likable. Ace's distaste for the taste tests that the cures were disguised in was funny. The only lame parts were the racist parts. Also there is one instance in which a paragraph is repeated (when the mom advises Rosalind to give Ace a chance). Otherwise, I love this story.

Very Cute story

This story made me think of a made for TV movie. It was cute, sweet and a little funny. I enjoyed ROSELIND & ACE. They were so adorable. All he needed was a little boost and then he was all over her like butter on a biscuit. I could truly see this as a made for TV movie. I hope there are other books on all four sisters.

Magical romance

It was a cute little quirky romance story. It was written really well and I really liked the characters. I find the love to be lacking, it was more of a lustful relationship and I didn't see the love developed. The love was rushed in the end, but I do like that the love was true. The were able to love each other freely of their own choosing.

Interesting

I really enjoyed the witchcraft and love that sparked between Rosalind and Ace. An easy read and intriguing enough to keep me turning the pages, and steamy sex scenes. I believe the grammatical errors were corrected as I did not come across many. The storyline was interesting enough to want me to read the next book in the series.

really liked this book - well written. annoying that h was so push/pull but that was kinda the basis of the book.

idk why ir writers always tryna conflate black people's realistic concerns about ir relationships and white people's racist reactions to the relationships in these books, but go off sis.

Hexes

This series opener is from an author that's new to me. The story takes place in the deep south, where a cake maker and a former pro ball wedding planner set the town gossips to talking.

This was such a pleasant book that kept the story moving and the sex steamy. I also appreciated the fact that even though it was a lighthearted book, that they didn't hide from the fact that not everyone in your life is comfortable with interracial relationships.
