Al comenzar segundo de primaria, Koharu sueña con algo que le haría muy feliz: estudiar en el mismo instituto en el que lo hizo su madre, y Masamune hará lo que sea, también, por su hija, y que sus deseos se hagan realidad. Así, se embarcan en una serie de semanas ocupadas, haciendo entrevistas, buscando academia y estudiando... mientras se enfrentan a un día a día que les hace aprender y descubrir cómo es el mundo, siempre juntos.

Jo, ¿cómo puede ser taaaaaaaan bonito y adorable? Intento dosificarlo e ir leyendo a un capítulo al día, porque es muy, muy mono como para querer terminarlo pronto, pero me cuesta muchísimo. Es cierto que la sinopsis no parece nada especial, porque lo mágico de esta historia es seguir el día a día de unos personajes a los que ya les he cogido muchísimo cariño, ver cómo crecen, y cómo logran sus objetivos.

Koharu y Masamune se hacen mayores. Él tiene sus primeras crisis vitales mientras ve como su hija va creciendo y empieza ya segundo de primaria. Ella tiene el sueño de estudiar en el mismo instituto que su madre, pero para ello tendrá que pasar un duro examen de admisión. En esta tercera entrega de My Girl encontramos ya a una Koharu más madura, no solo en sus acciones, sino también en su forma de afrontar la realidad, y a un Masamune que quiere darle lo mejor, pero siente que en cierta manera está atascado en su vida. 

En la nueva academia donde se prepara para es examen tan trascendental, Koharu se reencontrará con un compañero del colegio, Shu, del que surgirá una relación de amistad-competitividad entre ellos. Shu envidia la relación que tiene Koharu con su padre, pero no puede reconocerlo por su faceta de “malote”. No obstante, poco a poco nos adentraremos en la vida de Shu y conoceremos la realidad de su familia y por qué tiene esa actitud tan agresiva con Koharu y su padre.

Ya voy por más de la mitad de esta historia y no quiero pensar que el horizonte del final está cada día más cerca. Empiezo a querer demasiado la relación tan especial entre ambos protagonistas. Aish.

My heart can’t handle this series anymore. How sweet, how cute, how tender can it get? The relationship between the little girl and her dad is just so beautiful. They’re helping each other build their lives, navigate grief, learn how to live, and grow together. And it’s all written in the absolute best way.
The drawings are incredibly emotional too. Every time I pick up these books, it feels like my soul is being hugged, wrapped in the warmth of parental love. Why is this series no longer being published? I’m seriously crying over it.
I finished the third volume but can’t find the next ones anywhere. I even bought volumes 4 and 5 in Spanish because they’re unavailable in French or English—but here’s the catch—I don’t actually know Spanish! I’ll find a way though, I don’t care.
If any manga publisher is reading this, please reprint this series. It’s too wonderful for people to miss. Thank you.

C'è sempre la scuola al centro. Tra Masamune che deve partecipare alla staffetta dei padri e la piccola Koharu che vuole entrare nella stessa, esclusiva, scuola media della madre. E torna anche Shu, l'amichetto dell'asilo con i genitori problematici.

E anche il collega che sembrava uno stupidotto dimostra di avere un cervello...

Wow she is growing fast throughout the series. We start with some school stuff with the Dad working hard to live up to her daughter. We also get reintroduced to Shuu who was the little kid who made fun of the dead Mom. Shuu's dynamic with the little girl is very cute. He's very defensive and standoffish but does care. Though he doesn't want to lose face which creates this hot and cold situation between the two which gets even more volatile once you throw in them being little kids who don't always handle themselves well. The bottom half's focus on his parent's recent divorce was really good too. And that final chapter was a wonderful one off to showcase how sweet it is that the guy is trying as a single parent and to let his daughter be a bit more of a kid since she is taking a lot of responsibility to be a “good kid” for her Dad.

premier tome de cette série que je donne 5 étoiles - très émouvant la manière dont l'un encourage l'autre et les sacrifices pour faire la meilleure. je l'adore.
