While I liked Devil in a Suit as a whole, I found that some plot actions didn't make sense to me and the hero's changing moods made me dizzy at times. That being said, I enjoyed the author's writing style and will be reading soon De Maggio Mafia Duet, #2 telling the story of Angelo and Dani. Overall rating: 3.5 stars! :D

I can't really find one good thing to mention in regards to this book.

OTT action, no chemistry, hero gave me whiplash with his mood swings. Drama and secrets galore.

Every cliche is in this book

Carlo is a mob boss and Hazel a part-time teacher trying to escape her past. Sparks fly but can he keep her safe? Fast-paced read with intense chemistry, loads of drama and steam. Great characters with lots of depth and a story that really draws you in. I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved it!

My Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. It had drama, action, some violence, hot steamy scenes and an engaging story line. I liked Carlo and Hazel together, they had great chemistry and their passion for each other ran deep. I really loved the secondary characters of Carlo’s mother and sister too, they were a wonderful addition to the story. Overall a very good mafia romance that I would recommend.

No one delivers dark and oh so delicious quite like Nicole Fox.
Some days she just hoped not to yank herself bawled in frustration while trying to keep everyone's attention.
The moment Carlo meets the fiery Hazel he's down for just about anything and everything that leads to her giving in to him.
Yeah for some reason she couldn't stop herself from thinking about that first rate jerk okay he was seriously hot and made her wish for more.
Did he seriously think standing there like that was going to make her all excited and what? Nope that was a one time deal and now she just wanted him to leave.
Hazel wished the bad memories would pack there darn bags and move somewhere else and leave her in peace.
Hazel knew he wasn't the kind of man who would tolerate being ordered around and neither would she.
That woman was exasperating but truthfully she hadn't hurt anyone so he wouldn't let anyone kill her either.
Hazel should've known better but what good would it do her. Telling Mr. Growls he's a PITA and so on an so forth.
So yelling my poor head off because he rocks my world, why shouldn't I as long as he leaves.
For Carlo there are somethings you just don't move on from nor do you forget and he knew looking at himself there was also forgive.
He's a total unbelievable in one instance he's one hundred percent an...
And on the other hand he's the most selfless being.
She thought she could willed her past away but no that would never happen and now the chicks have come home to roosted.
Nope I've been so stupid trying to bury my feelings and I left her and now she's in the hands of a psychotic monster who's demanding I personally pay him.
And oh yes I will....

Intense, fun, sexy... Are some of the adjectives that can be applied to this story. Hazel is one of the female characters that I liked the most in the books of Nicole Fox. She is funny, sarcastic, she doesn’t keep quiet, nor does she shy away from anyone, not even in front of the powerful Don Carlo DiMaggio. Theirs is a relationship of ice and fire. As soon as they are ripping off their clothes and then trying to avoid and ignore themselves. It’s pretty fun to watch. The characters of Alda and Emily, Carlo’s mother and sister, are pretty great too. Plus there’s the open war with the Irish that will keep you glued to your seat and your kindle.
A very entertaining story full of action, passion, betrayals, secrets... The perfect ingredients for a good mafia romance story.

What a great start!!!

Hazel is a teacher of English as a second language. She has a great group of people in class who really want to learn and hen she has a group of Italians in her class that never pay attention and cause problems. When she finally gets them to stop acting up and confronting them, she gets cornered outside the classroom, until a "knight" comes to her rescue, but at what cost? How long can Hazel resist Carlo? But one night, things get crazier and crazier which ends with Carlo keeping Hazel safe at his mansion!!! Will Hazel survive Carlo?

Carlo is the don of the De Maggio Family and in a war with the Irish. In trying to win the war and get the Elephant to bend to his will, he kidnaps the son of the Sweeney Irish Family. But one night, what he learns from Ben changes the entire situation, but at what cost? Can Carlo look the other way and find a new path? Will this path lead him back to Hazel or keep them apart? Can Carlo forgive and understand where Hazel is coming from and move forward?

This story includes so many things, including murder, mystery, love, lust, romance and so much more. The twists and turns with the Irish mob, the past and the future are outstanding and so worth the read!! You won't want to put this book down. I can't wait for more and more. Carlo and Hazel's relationship was a mixture of love and hate.

Colleen Hazel Sweeney was the only daughter of the Irish Mob Boss. Now she is just Hazel Conway after leaving that life behind her when her father tried to arrange a marriage between her and vicious bratva leader. Hazel's work brings her into contact with Carlo, the head of the Italian Mafia. The attraction between them is electric, but when Hazel is a witness to an attack and her life is threatened that Carlo kidnaps her for her safety and imprisons her in the family mansion. Their relationship is a mixture of love and hate, which usually ends in fierce lovemaking. His family accepts Hazel as his girlfriend. After Hazel's past is revealed, Carlos lets his anger at her lies override caution, and Hazel is taken for revenge by her father. This book was a dramatic read, Carlo refused to allow himself to fall in love with Hazel, fearing it would make him weak, but the truth was his love for her made him fear nothing but losing her forever. The book ends happily, but not before many people are hurt or killed as a result of actions taken.

Devil in a Suit is the first book in the De Maggio Mafia Duet by Nicole Fox. This is the story of Hazel and Carlo. She is twenty-four years old and is an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher. Carlo is the Don of the De Maggio Mafia family. He is domineering, ruthless, powerful, sexy, charming and handsome. She is intelligent, strong, feisty, beautiful and sexy. Together they are like oil and vinegar but when you shake them up really hard they blend together nicely to make a wonderfully tasty dressing.

This is a fast moving and dark story which also is funny at times. The book was well written and the story-line is diverting. I really loved Hazel as she was not afraid to stand up for herself and what she believes is right. Carlo could have used some work for me as I expected him to be a darker and more flawed but he was still an interesting character. Overall I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next in the duet.

It’s not often I get so involved in a book that it feels like my own heart is being gripped by the danger, passion, and secrets of the story. DEVIL IN A SUIT is enthralling on all these levels.

The chemistry between Carlo and Hazel is crazy hot, but what really makes this story is Carlo’s humanity. He’s an Italian mafia don that has so much heart and sensitivity that you can’t help but forgive him for all the things he does to protect himself before giving in.

Hazel has her rough, protective exterior and her “take no BS” attitude, but you know from the start whatever she is running from is big. Nicole Fox masterfully lets the story unfold in such a way that keeps the reader guessing and involved.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, It is a fantastic dark mafia romance that had some great moments of humor and primal passion.

Oh my, I loved this book. It is one of the first Mafia romances where the female character has so much "spunk." How could anyone not love Hazel. She was no push over and I loved the way that she spoke to Carlo. Carlo was very closed off, but he had quite the attraction to Hazel. He had been burned previously and was not interested in any kind of relationship. However, the more time that they spent together it became apparent to Carlo that he was falling in love with her. It didn't help matters when Hazel and his mother and sister Emily became so close, and the laughter that filled the home was something that was missing in their lives. Hazel, however, was keeping quite a secret from him, and when the secret is exposed, everything changes. Hazel is left alone, and is in the hands of her ruthless father. Everyone MUST read this book - it is that good. I did received an arc for an honest review.

Carlo and Hazel's story

Carlo DeMaggio is the Don of the DeMaggio Family. His mother and sister live with him in a huge mansion.
The Irish mob is constantly challenging the DeMaggio territory and business. They assassinated Carlo's father and seriously injured his mother and sister and himself a number of years ago.
Hazel Conway is an enigma. She teaches an English as a Second Language course, but it is clear that she has a past that she is hiding from. It isn’t clear how she supports herself as one course would be sufficient.
They meet, have drinks, and sex. After an attack by the Irish mob, Carlo kidnaps her to his mansion to protect her.
Carlo is moody, overwhelmed by the pure evil actions and attacks by the Irish. Hazel is obnoxious and disrespectful to Carlo.
The story gets complicated, with Carlo opening up to Hazel and Hazel constantly lying to Carlo and his family.
The book is moderately entertaining.

This is new author for me, the writing is exceptional and I was blown away. Carlo and Hazel meets when she tries to teach his men English at the rec center. When the center is attacked he kidnaps her - for her own protection naturally. Hazel does not take her kidnapping lightly and goes all out rebel. I loved it, some really funny moments in the book, laugh out loud funny. Some very emotional and sad moments, great family moments. In true mafia style we have betrayals, secrets (Hazel's being mind blowing), really evil men, retribution, revenge, blood and death. The supporting characters are sweet, lovable and well rounded. This is so well written that you can stop reading, this book really has it all.

I can almost guarantee when reviewing a Nicole Fox book it will warrant a 4 to 5 star rating. Her books have great action, suspense, twists, turns, and oh so steamy se*y fun. And this book is no exception to that. Hazel is an English as a second language teacher for adults. After dealing with some inattentive and rude Italian students, their Mafia Dom, Carlo De Maggio, apologies for their behavior and promises better behavior in the future. Sparks fly, and next class, they are better, but after class there is an attack in the parking lot and Carlo takes Hazel "into protective custody". Their story takes off with secrets and betrayal. I loved the pace, the action, and as always, the steam. I really love the fact that the next book is about their son. What an awesome twist to the typical duet. Great read.

Hazel meets Carlo one evening after class when one of her students corner her. He comes to her rescue at just the right moment and from that moment Carlo knows he won't be able to let go of Hazel so easily, he feels a connection that he has not felt in so long. When his job brings danger to Hazels door, Carlo will stop at nothing to see that she is protected and safe. Hazel is stubborn and isn't ready to cave in so easily but when it comes to Carlo everything changes. This story is really entertaining and has plenty of drama. The characters have good chemistry and are well written. Another great read from Nicole, definitely recommend

In the first book of the De Maggio Mafia’s story we meet Carlo and Hazel. Carlo is the don of his family. Hazel is a sweet and lovely pawn. Hazel is teaching an English as a second language class at a school which some of Carlo’s men are attending. These mob men are not the class pets by any stretch of the imagination and Carlo has to intervene that is where the story of Carlo and Hazel begins. Then a war between the Italian and the Irish mobs puts Hazel in danger and Carlo is determined to keep her safe whether she want him to or not. The sexual chemistry between them is sizzling but will it lead to love? Will they survive this mob war? Will there be a HEA? This ARC is one of the best by Nicole Fox yet. I can’t wait for the next book to be released.

A really fantastic mafia story..
It’s filled with passion, tragedy
twists and turns and some really steamy romance.
Carlos is a gorgeous hot Italian Mob Boss. Hazel is a beautiful fiery red head and part time teacher. They meet one night after shes had a bad day of teaching. They have an explosive encounter that was supposed to be a one time thing. But Carlos wants more. The more Hazel resists the more he wants her. Carlos saves her from a shootout with the Irishmen and does the only thing he can think of to save her. He kidnaps her. Then this story takes a wild ride. It’s intense between then. Both trying to outrun their tragic pasts and the secrets they keep.
Can they find love?

Hazel is a ESL ( English as a second language ) teacher. In her current class she is struggling with four Italian men. She loses her temper with one and after class the continued arguement between herself and the man is interrupted by Carlo.
Carlo is intrigued by Hazel although she is different from his type. He’s closed off to love due to a life altering betrayal.
Hazel and Carlo dance around their attraction until they have to give in. Yet with secrets, violence , betrayal, loyalty and disloyalties this story is a hotbed of dark mafia action.
This author is a mafia master in telling a tale. This is book one of a duet and I am totally invested. A must read page turning thriller.

Nicole Fox is the reigning queen 👑 of dark mafia romance and this book is an excellent example of her talents. This is the first book in the 'DeMaggio Mafia Duet' but can be read as a stand alone. The second book in the duet is the son's story. This is Carlos and Hazel's love story with lots of twists, turns, betrayals, and action. Hazel is an ESL teacher and Carlos is a mob boss who saved her from a confrontation with one of his men. Carlos is the protective alpha male who kidnaps Hazel in order to guarantee her safety. Their chemistry is blazing and not to be denied by either party. This book has so much going on that it keeps the reader turning the pages until the end. Nicole Fox is the queen of Mafia romance. This one is intense, steamy, dark and incredibly entertaining. Hazel is a teacher for an English as a second language class for adults. She is running from something. When she meets Carlo DeMaggio, she is instantly attracted to him and he is to her. When a gun fight erupts where she teaches, Carlo protect s her. He also brings her to his mansion to keep her safe from his enemies the Irishmen. Both main characters are intense, stubborn, fierce people. The chemistry is off the charts. But there are secrets that could tear everything apart. Loved this story.

This was a great story from the start to the very last line. There were many moving parts to the story and I did not see the zing from the book until it hit me and then I was wow! My gut said I thought this might be the real story behind everything that was going on. Without giving away any spoilers let’s just say the brother what a character he ended up being in the end, there wasn’t much to read about this horrible father of Hazel’s but the buildup was good. She mentioned this was a two part book series So I wonder who who the 2nd book will be about, you got to Read Nicole’s books especially if you love Mafia books, she is killing it with her books.

Devil in a Suit (DeMaggio Mafia) by Nicole Fox is the first book in a duet, it tells us about Carlo and Hazel. Carlo, a Mafia Don, who is handsome and sexy, charming yet ruthless, and smart. Hazel is a strong-willed beautiful, red-head, they are great together and make a dynamic duo but their partnership isn't approved of by everyone.

Their love story was one I didn't want to put down it was sometimes dark and tragic whilst being a fast-paced story containing action, suspense, and dark mafia drama. The chemistry and passion between them are intense and hot. I am looking forward to the second book in this duet.

Devil in a Suit has to be the best book Nicole has written! I could not put this edge of your seat read down from the first to last page. It is the story of Carlo, the mafia boss of his family, and Hazel, a part-time teacher who Carlo rescues and protects from the Irish Mafia. This well written novel by Nicole Fox is the perfect mafia read and has an intense dark plot which contains drama, family loyalty, strong emotions, suspense, action and violence, unexpected twists, sizzling chemistry, and great romance. I highly recommend this phenomenal book.

First off I love enemies to lovers stories, they are my absolute favorite to read and Devil in a Suit did not disappoint! The banter (and chemistry) between Hazel and Carlo was off the charts hot and feisty. I loved the fact it was not a insta-love and they really had to work on their feelings and figure out their emotions towards each other. I also enjoyed that Hazel didn't just give up and play the damsel in distress, No she kicked butt and didn't give in. It was beautifully written and entertaining. Plenty of surprises along the way to keep you guessing and engaged in the story. Definitely recommend!!
