***5 ‘War Stamps’ Stars***
Getting ready to dive into a book whose main characters are ones that you already have a lot of love for is always a bit nerve wracking for me. On one hand I’m all kinds of excited to finally get to know them better and find out all their secrets and what makes them tick. On the other hand I get kinda scared that in the end I may not feel the same as I did going in, but the latter was definitely NOT the case here. I ended up adoring Green and Leah before the halfway point of the book. What these two went through and where they were at when there were no more words to read was everything.
After finishing this book I don’t know how anyone couldn’t be in full adoration of Green and Leah. Green is a stubborn SOB, Alpha AF and has a heart so golden it hurts. There really isn’t anything more I could say because the man is major book boyfriend material. And Leah. God what she endured would have had most people, male or female, become a full blown recluse. But even when she wanted to lay down and die she didn’t. It was close, it really was, but though her soul and spirit took one hell of a beating, the spark to live and overcome was still there and with the help aka stubborness of those around her she fought and came out stronger for it.
As for their journey to their HEA...I’m simply going to say that each step, as painful and heartbreaking as it was, was soooo worth it. I could go into all kinds of verbal vomity goodness about these two and how amazing their journey was, but you must experience each step for yourself. And I promise you will not be disappointed in any way!
I basically devoured this book in not time flat and I want more, which isn’t really surprising since I’ve done the same thing with all the books I’ve gotten my hands on in Ravage MC and Ravage MC Bound series. These books are simply addicting. While I don’t want to give away too much, I will say that while there are a lot of moments that are intense and disturbing, which may be triggers for some, they were balanced out by moments of sweetness and heart and filled with hope and strength which kept the light and dark in check. And as for the supporting cast of characters, all I can say is I adore them all, though Princess is still all kinds of awesome!
This book can be read as a standalone, and for once I have to say that you don’t really NEED to read the first three books before diving into this one. The only one I think you should read is Bound by Family since they share the same starting point. But I will warn you, no matter which book you start with, you will want to get your hands on all of them and be practicing patience (badly) for the next book in the series to come out (I’m crossing my toes that the next one will be Jacks and Emery)
