Wings are supposed to represent freedom, but it’s damn hard to fly in the middle of a supernatural freaking hurricane
Though I’ve been diligently tackling my good old shitlist, the thing just keeps getting longer and longer.
Story of my rotten life.
Yelena’s attack on Breccan’s court and Nicarys’s demise by yours truly had left the already frail Shadow World a whole lot worse for wear. Patching up damages has always been a temporary solution at best, but with the landslide we’ve been riding for the past months turning into a churning roll, the entire demonic race is running out of time.
As far as I’m concerned, the only thing worse than the looming deadline is attempting to meet it while trying to save my own damn life.
Reiner hasn’t given up on his dream of draining my powers—he can’t, not with my Nechist heritage fuelling the feverish obsession that can only end in death. Mine. Or his.
I’m adamant for the outcome to be option B.
But when foes are formidable and allies few, the solution isn’t as easy as sinking a nice, sharp dagger between the ribs.

3 ½ stars This is book four anad the finale of the Shade Assassin series and sees assassin Crina facing an even longer list of things she has to try and sort out. The Shadow World is falling apart and everything she and her group try to do to rebalance the world, is being unwittingly torn apart by the different courts of demons, all out for themselves. They can’t rebalance the realm if they don’t help the demons, but they need to change the way they approach a solution, as so far, every action they take is only having a short effect and they need to search for allies amongst the demon lords. Lords who normally have only their own agendas in mind and care nothing for anyone else’s problems. Crina killed Nicarys and got away with it, which caused a lot of unrest. As well as an attack on Breccan’s court by Yelena. Now Reiner has sent demons to attack Pieter, part of her own family and her half-brother Zion’s son. Reiner wants to drain her of her powers, with her Nechist heritage bringing about an obsession on his end, that will end in his death or hers, hopefully his! The demon lords are supposed to be the protectors of their realm and people, nourishing the realm and keeping the balance. But if they can’t get some of them to become their allies, then the demon world could descend into chaos and the Shadow World could crack, descending into the dark ages once again. She has her men, demon lord Breccan and vampire Ilya now coming to an agreement to share her attentions, in the bedroom, shocking her in front of their hosts! A good head of steam coming off this throuple. Finding allies isn’t as easy as just approaching them, as Ilya is not really welcome in their courts, and Crina herself is seen as a threat of her own, as her powers are so intense and overpowering. The demon lords will ask for a huge price from her, to even consider becoming their allies. They want her power, her essence, but that is part of the very core of her and cannot sustain its form outside of the person it belongs to. At least that is as far as history tells them. There may be something in the ancient tomes, but werewolf Reiner isn’t likely to give them time to find anything, with his amulet relic able to syphon her powers and essence with ease. She would struggle to defeat both the amulet and Reiner at the same time! But they will soon find out that Yelena is their biggest problem, as the imbalance in the Shadow World increases. The witches and warlocks have been researching the reasons behind the original destabilisation of the realm and linked a solution to past history. History where the Shadow World used to be linked to both the mortal realm and Kolovrat, where the gods lived, the realm of magic. Lots and lots of steam with her two mates, as well as loads of danger as others want to take her power for themselves. A solution to welcome the Nechist into the Shadow World, helps to keep the balance and the throuple can continue with a semi normal life together. Lots of characters to get used to and follow through the storyline, but many are important to Crina and the final solution they figure out together. Pretty much a non-stop action fest from start to finish. I really love the characters and they are as vibrant as always. The story is a fantastic conclusion to an outstanding series and it is a roller coaster of passion, danger, action, intense emotions and kept me enthralled from the first page and held every ounce of my attention the whole way through. It is a book that I can highly recommend but you definitely need to have the whole series, I guarantee you will not regret it as it will give you the ride of your life.

Wild energy, reined in or unleashed, in so many manifestations. Absolute power, absolute corruption, absolute dedication to others, all entwined in a smashing, crashing, never-ending rollercoaster ride finale of the series. Descriptions of action scenes, whether of training in progress, lusty love, all-out battles or head-on skirmishes, take the reader right into the midst of breathless, breathtaking moments. Fantastic is truly an understatement.

These pages are jammed pack with action in all shapes and sizes. This series conclusion totally could not have been penned better. Buckle down and get ready for shock, awe, laughter, grief, all the feels! If you haven’t started the series yet, grab all four, you won’t regret it! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
This would have been a great novel if the author had not resorted to the continual detailed sex sessions thourghout the contents which seemed to indicate that it was used as page fillers rather than contrabuting to the overall plot.
Such as the bond developing that would allow Crina to draw on Breccan's power. Overall the main plots and sub-plots for theseries was interesting and entertaining.
Her list seems to be getting longer and flying is not so easy in a hurricane. She need to try to keep her life while they try to take her powers. That will not be easy and could less to their death or hers. She wants to keep her life. How will the battle go? Can she beat them? See how it will end

This is the fourth book in the Shade Assassin series and picks up where book three left off at and is jammed pack with action in all shapes and sizes. I really love the characters and they are as vibrant as always.
There’s a lot of pain and agony on this one. But so much good too, and friendships developing. That big scene in the lord’s court was super intense. A good ending to the series.
I struggled with starting this book for some reason. It is fast paced for the most part, I love the characters and the plotline stayed interesting, though convoluted at times. Plenty of steam and angst, we get the HFN but its hard one.
Omg was this a roller-coaster ride from beginning to end love how every one's growth though out this book and some unexpected surprises and the ending was great
