Reality-TV star Nahla Sullivan was willing to put it all on the line to prove her love to super-producer Zion Brown. Yet, once the obvious obstacles are out of the way, the couple finds that being together won’t be as easy as they’d hoped—especially not with an unexpected enemy determined to destroy what they’re trying to build. A web of lies and secrets, spun around them in the past, threatens their future. Nahla’s co-star Zanaida Brooks was done with security expert Wraith Ford. Seriously. Done. Until the dark chocolate dream of a man insisted on inserting himself in her life at every opportunity. Just when Zanaida decides she might have to give their relationship another chance, Wraith crosses a line she had clearly drawn. Wraith refuses to apologize for doing what he felt he had to do to keep her safe. Zanaida would just have to get past her trust issues to see things from his perspective. But… can she?
That's me, in short. I've been writing since elementary school and won my first prize in seventh grade. I am a romantic at heart and love a happy ending! Join me on this writing (and reading) journey--you won't be disappointed!
The first book was a lot better but this was pretty good too.
I was really digging Wraith and Zanaida. Idk what it was but their mean asses were meant to be I can tell. They had me giggling and kicking my feet every time they interacted.
Nahla was irritating the way she kept getting herself into dangerous situations
I've been waiting on this book lol I'm glad Nahla got her life and stopped being scary. I was glad to see Zion actually choose his happiness and what he wanted as opposed to what he though was right. I was ssoooo happpyy that everything came together for them
Wraith & Zanaida are so cute! I love how Wraith was himself and didn't play about his Nai. I loved how she had him coming up out of himself and required more of him although he insisted. I loved that he was protective of Nai even when she couldn't stand him.
Xay & Kenzie & Young & Nadia: Mannnnn if these women don't stop playing and get with the winning team I know sumn lol like stop running and let these men love on you.
Magma’s mother was an awful person. Let’s start there. I get and understand postpartum depression and the affects it has but 25 years later and she’s still an A$$. How could you do your child and grandchild like that…
Now the guys in the book are just as crazy. I love how the ladies broke through their tough exterior and found love, peace, safety and protection in the arms of their men. Great book and highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️
SN: Nobody: Tre: Let me tell you a story😂😂😂😂😂
I love me some Tre. Thank you for allowing him to bless up with his presence in this series. He and Bones are a force to be reckoned with.
Yeah that was so much but I’m happy how everything ended. Nadine Elizabeth Sullivan was THEE most disgusting and triflin excuse for a “mother” and the fact that she had no remorse made it worse smh. I’m glad Zion kept looking into things with their baby and making Nahla and Nadia see just how far their mother would go because they were in denial. Lexi finally did the right thing and Ian took control of the situation. The love between Wraith and Zani was cute, Xay and Kenzie had so much in their path but she was the key to everything. Young was funny and I hope him and Nadia can figure it out. Great read !!
I loved the way the couples got their HEA! Elle Kayson is an amazing writer, who blessed us with her gift. The only thing that made this a 4.5 star instead of 5 star review is there was too much going on with too many couples, so at times the reading felt disjointed. I understood Xay's love story needed to play a role to tie it all together, but it wasn't until the end and made it difficult to root for him and Kenzie. Nevertheless, this series is ABSOLUTELY worth the read!! I loved it!
I'm a little sour with the ending . I wanted more of Wraith and Zanaida story they really made me love this series . Even though I'm mad it was good full of lies ,deception and drama can't wait to read anything from this author.
This finale was the bomb, even though I felt as if the ending was rushed because come on with all of these info regarding Nahla and Zion's life and what Momma dearest done, this could have been at least in the 50% mark of the book... That said, this story came full circle and it was good. I had begun to feel that it was just a little bit too boring and too predictable and I was so anticipated that Lexie was going to be messy, but she turn out to be the bigger person and decided to come forward to Zion. But what happened to her and Ian's time? Are they together? Are they not? Did he forgive her? In any case they were so not a priority in this second one but more of a beacon light. Now, Zion and Nahla, as for them, I was hoping they had already a little bun in the oven and their epilogue would have been better than this. Zani and Wraith, how cute could they be? But the best part is to have Bones and Tre and Shay and Tamar and Tripp all showed up and they were as crazy as being in the first meet... A very good book👏👏👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Book 11 of Shelf September ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨(4.5) Book 2? Whew chile… straight heat from start to finish. The crew stayed locked in, and the drama was giving everything it was supposed to give. I swore that text was Shay being messy, but nah, it was Nadia sliding in, and that flip had me clutching my Kindle. And when Ian, Tre, and Bones came through the door? Yeah… fireworks.
Now, Nahla… sis finally stopped tiptoeing and owned her power. Zion too...he really chose himself this time, not just what looked “right,” and I loved that growth for him. But Lord, Nadine? Nahla and Nadia’s mama is the villain of the decade. No remorse, just cold. I cheered when Nahla slapped her. Grammy (I was so hurt) wasn’t any better- some things she allowed were just foul. I legit cried when Nahla sang to Khyliq. That was so raw & real.
Let’s talk couples though. Wraith and Zanaida? Cute and spicy. He went from hardheaded to protective real quick, and she pulled him right out his shell. He ain’t play about his Nai, and I ate that up. Zion, Nahla, Tre, Bones, Tamar, Xay, Nadia, Young, Kenzie- this whole messy, beautiful circle felt alive. Real people, real choices, real pain.
I’m side-eyeing Kenzie and Nadia though… like girl, stop running and let them men love on you! 🙄 I need their stories ASAP.
This book gave me tears, laughs, gasps and a couple times I had to close it just to breathe. Not perfect, but it was real, it was raw, and it stayed fun. The kind of story that lingers when you shut the book.
I’m locked in for Nadia & Young, Kenzie & Xay, and whatever wild ride comes next.
This book was straight fire and it was a real page turner. I love how the whole crew was included. I thought the text that Nahla got was from Shay but it was from her sister Nadia. I'm glad Nahla shut Zion and Lexi's down...And then when Ian, Tre, and Bones walked through the door💣💣 I hate what Nahla and Nadia's mom Nadine did to Zion and Nahla. I cried real deal tears at the song Nahla sung to Khyliq. It took forever for Wraith to admit to his feelings for Zanaida but they ate good for each other. I can't wait to read the Nadia and Young's and Kenzie and Xavier's books. I loved Tripp, Tamar, Shay, Tre, and Bones together with Xay, Kenzie, Nadia, Young, Zanaida. Wraith, Nahla, and Zion. I hope they're all together in the next books.
This was a really good book. Whew, that Nadine Sullivan was a real B****! How could you be so cold, calculating and cruel to your own child. Zion, Nahla and Zanaida all gave me headaches, pause and pure laughter. However, I loved that Zion did not play about Nahla at all as her BFF or her man, for her it was whatever with whoever. I must say my favorite character in this series was Wraith. Through it all, even his blossoming situation with Zanaida that he was fighting, he remained his true authentic self ... just mean, cocky, menacing and a straight beast who said and did as as he pleased, while always in protective mode.
Wow is really all I can say. Wraith is my boo but he was so confused about expressing himself. Zani is a character that you can't help but to love. She is so witty and fun but at the same time she is broken in a sense. Zion and Nahla went through so much but in life there are trials and tribulations. Elle Kayson does an excellent job in telling their story. She tells it in a way that you can't help but form an emotional attachment to them. Love love love her work.
I would have given this a 5 star i it weren’t for all the back and forth in the book. The characters didn’t really get together until the end of the story so we didn’t really get a relationship from them. But I would love to read a book about Bones. I love the quiet laid back men... PLEASE CREATE A BOOK AROUND BONES IM BEGGING LOL. Even with all the back and forth I love this author so far.. I’m thinking about going back and reading the tre series again cuz I loved him too. Keep em coming chica
I so love the way this all came together. Nahla's mother was the absolute worse and she had no remorse. I don't blame Nahla for slapping her. As for Grammy, her old tail was foul. The crap Zani went through Grammy should know better. Wraithmonté is my guy, with his rude cocky self. As rude as he was I love how protective he was and how he allowed himself to love. The entire story felt genuine. Anytime a book came make me laugh, cry and y'all I'm all for reading the Author's next work. This page Turner is one you don't want to miss out on.
This was a good read but you took to long for part two. I don't like when I've forgotten what the first book was about someone's it makes me uninterested. I live your work and that's why I decided to read this book. Nahla went through do much and her mother was just pure evil. Zion was determined to find out what happened to his baby and I'm glad they got the answers they were looking for. Wraith and Zanaida were funny together. They were so perfect fit. I can't wait to hear from Kenzie and Xay. I also can't wait to see what happens with Young.
This book took me a little long to read because I had to remember from book 1 (I didn’t want to reread it)...but once I got my bearings it was easier to read. We need these part 2’s faster. Spoiler alert: I knew that was their baby and her dad wasn’t her dad. Jonah’s name kept coming up. I just wished she had whooped her momma’s but, momma be damned!!!! ANNDDD Kenzie’s dad, well he shouldn’t be allowed to breathe. And WTF happened to Troy? Please don’t make us wait too long for the others.
Elle's Kinsey's and friends Universe is one that I can never tire of reading. From What an Heiress Wants to Loving a Cold-Hearted Savage to The Beauty of This Street Love and now Never Should've Let You Go. I love the character crossover. I love the world she's structured as if this her own Starz series and subsequent spinoffs a la Power. Great content, high drama, steamy mouthwatering sex, well structured and highly engaging characters. Hats off to you Ell Kayson. I look forward to Xay and Young's story.
My goodness Wraith and Nai dysfunctional as they come! Both their mouths reckless! Nai annoyed me with that situation with her uncle and her grandma were not innocent! She got a rude awakening when she realized that her grandma knew and Nai nearly lost Wraith with her foolishness.
Zion and LaLa situation were rushed IMHO. I needed them to have more time to grasp the heinous crime of her mother. That mother was trifling AF with all she got away with SMH.
The ending felt incomplete IMHO or maybe it’s just me wanting more!
Zion and Nahla finally quit playing in everybody's face. Zani and Wraith were exactly what each other needed. They matched wits perfectly and no one could compete. Nahla's mother was the definition of evil. Kenzie's father and his flunky were wrong for manipulating her life but she had a knight in shining armor that wasn't playing about her. Tre has rubbed off on Shay with the storytelling. Lexi knew to play the game smart because the Kinsey family will wreck your whole bloodline playing with them.
What an ending I didn't see that coming ...These characters was awesome from their back stories to the present ...Well defined and courageous...Wraite was Tuff and funny but the way the Author displayed is character was heartfelted I love him learning to love and shady yess s he's a character I wanna see more of...Nahla was sweet and tormented by a mom from hell...hope she get her just dessert.....OUT FREAKING STANDING.....
I'm never disappointed with a Elle Kayson novel, I guess everyone's fav couple is Nahla & Zion but my fav was Zani & Wraithe it's just something about the cat & mouse and falling in love I love so much I would say I'm gonna miss them but I got a feeling they'll be here & there in the next novel w/ the rest of the couples Xay & Kenzie also Young & Nadia. Can't wait to get into that one.
Who doesn’t enjoy happy endings? This storyline was full of love, drama, and oh my goodness what next. The character development made you fall in love with the characters, or hate them but you understood why they behaved the way that they did. I recommend this five star read to readers who enjoy reading about family chaos, friendships, and love. I look forward to reading more from this author.
I love that Ms. Kayson has not given in to the current trend of having a ratchet heroine. It was so refreshing to read about some classy black queens. I hate reading books where the main female character is ghetto and want to fight at the drop of a dime. I absolutely loved Wraith and Zani’s love story. They were too funny. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
Man oh man I loved these couples and their journey. The twist and plots really blew me and Mrs. Sullivan definitely going down as one of the most trifling mothers in this urban world! I'm so glad that Zion and Nahla got their HEA and I can't wait to read about Xay, Young and their ladies. The nosey in me would also like to know what happens to Lexi & Ian!! Kudos 👏
Reading this continuation was a no brainer. But it could go on some more with no complaints from this reader. Just loved besties Nahla and Zion. What dummies thought they could come between them? Not family nor potential partners were going to last with that as a mission. Wrath and Zanaida were a delightful bonus. There were enough side stories for at least a couple more books. This was just a most satisfying story.
I’m mad I waited this long to read this series but I should have known it was going to be good because Elle Kayson never misses!!! Her ability to craft a story between the main characters and supporting cast is perfection! I do wish it was a book 3 or a spin-off because I would like to read more about Kenzie and Xay and see what happens between Young and Nadia. Overall I highly recommend this series!!
After binging Demon’s Dream and part 1 of Never Should’ve Let You Go I ABSOLUTELY HAD to finish this story. Elle!!! Girllll!!! You have an unashamed Stan for life baby! You’re an amazingly creative writer! Plot twist after plot twist kept me hooked and words can’t explain the joy of having multiple perspectives in first person. Such a rollercoaster to read but I enjoyed every single second!!
I seen the switch up coming but still remained shocked when it was confirmed!!!! It was giving a little bit of love and hip hop drama!!! Wraith and Nai needed to pull it together sooner. Tre the resident relationship counselor could’ve gotten him right…because nothing gets past him and he ain’t letting nothing slide. Loved his pop ups. Happy endings all around in deed
At first I was losing it because Wraith was being worrisome at first!!! Then my frustration switched to Nala's evil momma and Kensey dad!!!! I swear Elle had my pressure high as he'll lolol....I'm glad that Zion and Wraith stepped up became Men!!! Now we gotta see about Xavier and Kensey...I smell a lot of drama with them!!
Great read, I love how detailed the characters are being displayed. I loved Wraith and Nai, and the relationship he learned to have. I couldn't stand that Mom and Pastor. Harsh punishment needs to be given. Zion and N. Love them, wonder what happened to wraith mom I feel like she deserved some type of punishment too. All in all ... Great read
It was worth the wait, I Fell in love with Zion and Lala So many answers revealed from Book 1 and most of all a Happy ☺ ending. I enjoyed the whole crew, can't wait for their story The author is gifted with the pen, her skills of taken you in to feel you knew each character. Girlfriend, continue to show the world what you are working with 💘
