Moving in with a billionaire playboy is supposed to be some sort of Cinderella story, right? I’m supposed to be having the time of my life while living the dream.
Wrong.

When the bank took our home, it didn’t come as a surprise. The bomb was when mom told me we were moving out of Breakers Flats, away from my crew, and to a place that only existed in fairy tales—Bellevue Springs. Home of the insanely beautiful, rich, and famous.

Only, Bellevue Springs is far from a fairy tale. It’s a nightmare full of secrets, horrors, and the ugly reality of the one-percenters, but without this move, mom and I are up sh*t creek without a paddle.

We don’t belong here—not even as the help.

I should have been prepared. I should have done my homework so at least that way I wasn’t blindsided by Charles Carrington’s son; my new housemate.

Colton F*cking Carrington.

He’s the definition of an arrogant, entitled prick and he’s determined to make my life a living hell. Guess what, Colton? Where I’m from, you don’t start a war unless you intend to finish it, and that’s exactly what I plan to do.

You can’t take down a girl who has nothing left to lose.

We may be on your territory, but this is my game.

Warning: Before starting this book, make sure you complete the following:

1. All tiny, needy people have been sent to responsible relatives for the day.

2. Equally needy significant others are also sent away.

3. You have drinks, snacks, blanket and any other comfort items close at hand.

Because - once you pick up this book, you will not be able to put it down. Sheridan Anne has a way with words - I was immediately drawn in from the very first page. Oceania is a kickass FMC with a snarky mouth that will make you laugh out loud.

Beware the book hangover! There is a lovely cliffhanger - and I so can't wait for the next book.

Thank you for the amazing story! ❤

Oceania has some strong internalized misogyny. She's a "badass" who thinks all girls are bitchy and has never had a girl friend, because she prefers to be friends with guys since all guys are chill. *eye roll* Every girl character in the book is nicer to her than her guy friends, yet she assumes girls are all bitches. Also, the whole gay best friend who's into makeup and fashion is such an unoriginal cliche.

What a load of BS.
Wow. This book was bad, oh my…
Well, in truth, this is a trashy book but a very entertaining one lmao.

Nothing made any sense, all the characters were despicable, especially the main one, I was rolling my eyes during the entire book. Ocean is freaking dumb, rude and despicable. The boys are wanna-be badass but they are just stupid and mean.

This novel was OVERLY dramatic and I was feeling uneasy reading a book with all this mature content ( and I’m not even talking about sex) knowing that the characters are 17 years old (Gangs/Rape/Revenge Porn/Murder/Blackmailing etc)

I didn’t like this book but it’s on me, I know that I don’t like “Bully Romance” this genre never worked for me because I find that, usually, the reason why the characters hate each other is plain ridiculous. I have never understood this genre and how it can be called romance when the hero was a jerk the entire book for no reasons ? That’s only my opinion. Bully romance is childish and ridiculous in my opinion and the high school setting made this even worse.

Anyway, regarding this novel, I was confused and lost about the behavior of the main characters and the plot was really messy. I give this book 2 stars nonetheless because I was throughly entertained and I’ve finished it entirely (even while skipping some scenes).

I’ll not pick up the following books and I came to understand that Sheridan Anne is not an author for me, second series by her (the first one being the RH Winter’s boys that I’ve DNFed after the second book), and second disappointment.

I really don't get all the 5 stars! There was just too much wrong!
1. Yes it fit the bully genre but the bullying was cruel and there didn't seem to be any redeeming qualities about the H
2. WHY WAS SHE THE ONLY GIRL IN A BOYS SCHOOL! Didn't anyone think how fucked up it was?
3. h was all about herself.. I don't get why anyone liked her?
4. Why did she like the H? There was nothing special about him except that he was hot :/
5. What kind of guy wants to be friends with a rapist?
6. She was raped but okay enough to want to have sex the next day?
7. She also slept with his friend and wasn't subtle about it.
8. HARD PASS!

I'm in such a book funk and I wanted so badly to love this, but I genuinely don't understand all the 4 and 5 star reviews. I guess those people have low standards.
I think I hated everyone but Milo. Ocean was the one of the worst 'heroines' and was impossible to like.
Horrible character development and poor editing were just icing on the cake.

Oh man! Hands down on this. It only cemented my love in bully romance. Everything is well executed and fantastically written. Oceania doesn't give a fuck y'all and I'm so here for it. Such a badass! The bullying in here is on another level, its ruthless & cunning. And Ocean being enroll in an all boys private school, she obviously the receiving end of double standard and sexism, I like how it is being address in here and how it being handle carefully at the same time. This book doesn't have any dull moment. Its full of angst, dark secrets, drama and anticipation.

If you have read any of Sheridan Anne’s books before and think you know how fun her books are, just you wait! She is bringing a whole new group of characters in a new town to shake things up.

Oceania is from a rough town. Her 4 best guys are in the top gang and help run the town. Life is okay to her because she is with them. When her mom decides to take a job as a housekeeper in the rich town. Leaving everything they know, they arrive to find things are good with the exception of the Colton. He makes it his mission to torment Oceania to have her leave. Little does he know, she fights back.

Quite a few times reading this, I whispered under my breath Wtf??? Charlie and Milo were my favorite characters. By the end just when I thought Colton could redeem himself in my eyes, the 💩 hit the fan, and now I’m confused at how I feel towards him lol.

This is so good! If you don’t mumble under your breathe wtf a couple of times, then you are reading it wrong lol.

This ends on kind of a cliffhanger, but not really. It is setting book 2 up. And there are triggers in this book for sexual harassment, sexual assault/rape so be warned of that.

What the ever fucking he'll was that?
Okay I usually like Sheridan Anne's book, but this was, let's just say not readable.
Female protagonist is not likeable at all. She thinks she is though as shit, but when shit hits fan, she just as normal as rest of us.
Her character development was wayyyy too slow.
This Colton guy was missing from the whole book. Okay maybe he wasn't but it surely felt like it
Hell I like Nic more than him, just saying, but i'm still shipping Jade and Colt.
There were kissing of random guys, which i totally don't approve, but somehow it worked.
In this book basically nothing was going on.
Girl had a serious attitude problem which was frustrating to read.
Just because she is 17, doesn't mean she has to be dumb too, and not to forget the serious attitude problem.
This book felt like it was in pieces rather than a whole bunch. Things were all over the place and due to that making connections with the protagonists was a tad bit difficult.
I might read the next book, coz her books generally got better in series.

This was my first listen by Sheridan Anne. Wow, wow, wow!! I’m speechless right now. Lessa Lamb slayed as Ocean. I loved this story. Lots of darkness & a crazy cliffhanger but I’m on the edge of my seat for June 23rd when the audiobook got Cocky F*ck is released.

“Tough Shit” is a raw and unapologetic dark romance that dives deep into the gritty realities of life. The story follows a strong-willed girl who faces intense challenges and confronts them with resilience and a fierce determination.

The romance is intense, with a palpable chemistry between the characters that drives the story forward. However, it’s not just about the romance; the novel also explores themes of survival, loyalty, and self-discovery, making it a more layered read.

I couldn’t put this book down! It was intense, captivating, and an emotional roller coaster. With twists, turns, and mean characters you love to hate, it pulled me in quickly. The darkness was balanced with moments of vulnerability and unexpected tenderness, making it a compelling read 👌

Did I mention how intense it was?😂

I don't even know what to say other than this may very well be my favorite book Sheridan Anne has written. I was captivated by this book from page 1 and literally didn't put it down until I reached the last page. I had no idea what to expect going into this one since she had said it was different from her previous series. This book is extremely well written and had my emotions all over the place. It does have a cliffhanger; however, it ended in a logical place and was more like getting a small look at what is to come in the next book.

The contrast between Oceania's crew of bad boys and the arrogant cocky boys that she faces in her new town is so heartbreaking. Her crew would move heaven and earth to keep her safe, while the others go out of their way to treat her like a useless object to use for their entertainment. Oceania is forced to grow even more fierce and strong as learns to stand up for herself without having her crew to come rescue her everytime.

This book brought to light sexual harassment in a school setting and how easily the victim can be blamed with a "boys will be boys" mentality in our society. It shows how different wealth statuses can unfairly determine the outcome in the justice system. I love reading books that tackle realistic issues while still giving us an entertaining fictional story.

*** TRIGGER WARNING: I will say if sexual harassment/assault/rape is a trigger, then this is probably not the book for you.

What a complete waste of time and disappointment this book was!
I waited months to start this series, because I wanted to listen to the audiobooks. I was so excited to start, because I heard how the h is one bad ass chick and that is totally my jam! So even tho that was very true, I truly wish I would have read more of the reviews because I would’ve read how the heroine sleeps with the H best friend!

Oh hell to the no!

Their’s a reason why I stay away from RH because that isn’t my cup of tea…
If I would’ve known that scene was going to happen, I would’ve never picked up this book….

Audiobook review: Lessa Lamb did a fabulous job! I will definitely listen to her again.

A little rushed as well as drawn out...

Ocean is one baddass girl, i love her sassy comebacks and sarcastic humor.

I can't seem to figure out what Carrington Sr is up to, I really hope he's not THAT big of a villain, but so far, it doesn't look good.

Carlton is such a horrible person, i mean i like myself a big bad bully, but his indifference just irritates me. I mean...either chose her or destroy her...i know this sounds horrible but to me he doesn't have redeeming qualities so far. But..maybe he gets better?

This story only grabbed my undivided attention from literally the last 30 pages. I will be reading the next book, cause hello, that cliffhanger!!

*****Trigger Warning *****

Sexual harassment, attempted rape, rape

Good start to a new series, unique twist for me on bully genre. Cliffhanger! Very likeable female lead. Love her 4 best friends, and new bff at new school. Male lead is redeemable, does not take bullying too far. Overall well written. Would recommend.

Will try a proper review later, just wanted to get the warning in here.

This was OK. Some parts were super fun, especially when Ocean would fight back. But other parts got me really annoyed - e.g. Ocean saying over and over again how she can't be friends with girls because they are either too bitchy or too needy... like wtf? I actually love reading about female friendships, thank you very much.

I won't pick up the next book.

Started out with a very engaging storyline. Great sexual tension among all the characters, Oceania, the heroine and her former crew whom she referred to as her boys, and Colton, the new hero. A strong-willed, resilient and independent girl meets rich boy Colton, but there is more than how they appear on the surface. Oceania displays vulnerability and insecurity about her poor background, and Colton, about his upbringing. The two share a hot, steamy sexual tension, engaging in some strong flirty, foreplay activity. These push and pull encounters continue along with episodic bullying from the all boys school Oceania attends until I reached 60% of the book, and I was over it.

The repetitive sexual play, only little bits of discovery about Colton's father / family situation, Oceania’s bravado, her constant self-conscious inner discussions about her poor background amid her obvious envy of wealth, and I was losing interest. Yeah, I get it: she's a badass; she's independent; she'll wield a gun. The continuous push and pull, the interludes caused the story to stall for me. Reverse harem might have worked well given the plot. It hinted at it, but I suspect it won’t be.

DNF at 60% I'm sad to say. Yes, the plot was intriguing, but the themes were tiresome, teasing, combined with a slowly progression plot. The is book 1 of a multi-series. Others may like this frankly steamy read but by my view fairly repetitive interplay.

“Have you ever seen a sky blue jadeite crystal?”
I raise my brow, wondering how a guy like Colton knows anything about crystals. “Do I look like the kind of girl who’s seen a sky blue jadeite crystal?”
He laughs and raises a hand, brushing his fingers over my brow and circling under my eye. “It’s the same color as your eyes.”

Astonishing. Just wow. One of my favorite reads of all times. Tough Sh*t by Sheridan Anne is the story of Oceania Munroe, a girl from the bad side of town. We are introduced to Nic, Sebastian, Eli and Kairo, total bad boys but they are the sweetest characters in the book. A while later we meet Colton Carrington who's many things, rich AF one of them.

This story is one of the few stories I have read where i've loved each and every character(even you know who) although the main antagonists are bad I still love the way our main male character deals with them. Yeah, Jude totally deserved what he got.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves enemies0-to-lovers but be warned there are some pretty heavy trigger warnings.

Make sure you put time aside, grab your reading comforts and have a do not disturb sign before you start to read this amazing tale.

Everything you could ask from dark bully romance and more.

Sheridan Anne just keeps surprising you, keeps playing with those pesky emotions and makes you wish you could be part of the world.

The FMC is a strong willed, beautiful independent girl who will not take anything lying down. The guys hmmmmmm where to start...they're are too many words and not all of them fit to type...let's just say alpha asses and leave it at that...for now

The twists and turns are straight fire. The way this author addresses some hard topics is respectful yet allows you to feel everything for the characters involved.

Plus that ending...just when you thought things were intense...bam let's just add a sprinkle more and leave it. Right. There.

I dug the slow burn and the plot but the characters weren’t all there for me. I really wanted to like Colton but I feel like we barely got any moments of him that were redeemable enough, and to still be friends with someone you know is a rapist? And i also hated Ocean’s quips about not liking other girls for being so “bitchy” and it all just seemed annoying. I wish the plot with the ending had been alluded to at least once, like we know her dad was murdered but that cliffhanger? I‘ll read the second book but i hope we get more action and development and not so much repetitiveness.

Omg the f*cking end cliffy killed me. This is a new series by Sheridan and it amazing. Ocean is seriously my girl crush right now and I’m so torn between Colton and Nic. This is a bad ass book and I couldn’t put it down. There is a reason Sheridan is my favorite author and she just did it again.

3⭐️2.75🌶 Meh… mildly entertaining, at best- if you like high school bully romance. Banter was a little lacking for me. Not nearly spicy enough- but this is just the first book in the series. I really disliked a few things that happened at the end of this book, which is why I’m sitting on the fence trying to decide if I’m going to DNF the series or trek on. (Enemies to lovers, 17-18 yr olds acting like college kids, TW rape, vanilla spice, quality of spice 3/5, quantity 2/5)

You might like this book/series if you’re a less experienced smut reader. I feel like I might have liked this more a couple years ago when explicit scenes were new to me and my standards were low.

***potential spoilers***
GOODS ✅
✅I’ve sat her for at least a solid 8 minutes trying to think of at least one or two things l liked about this book- I’m honestly drawing a blank. There is nothing interesting or really likeable about the characters at this point. There is nothing unique or captivating about the story or plot so far. I mean, I was somewhat interested for the majority of the book, so there’s that (even though I did find myself skimming a lot).

IN BETWEEN 🤷🏻‍♀️
🤷🏻‍♀️I always find high school kids acting like college kids or adults annoying, but I can’t add this dislike to my “bad” list because I did know it was a high school bully romance going into it.

BADS ❌
❌ The mother was hired as one of the house keepers, not even the head one, and yet she was allowed to move herself and her teenaged daughter into their pool house, as well, her daughter was enrolled in the very prestigious private school paid by her employer- what? Seems pretty unlikely, but there’s a possibility that there’s more to this that wasn’t revealed in this book.
❌Did I mention that this is a ALL BOYS elite private school? She’s the only girl in the school. The only explanation given for this is that it is the best school and he (the billionaire Charles Carrington) wanted her to have the best education. This is so far fetched it’s stupid. There is literally an all girls private sister school down the street and there is no way an all boys private school would accept just one female student- there aren’t even any female washrooms or change rooms in this school.
❌Everyone handles trauma differently, granted, but her lack of reaction to being raped is not believable. Literally 12 hours later she’s having sex with the MMC- and not in an “erase what he did to me and make me feel better” way, but in a “I’m horny for you and I want to have sex with you this minute” way- it’s just pretty unbelievable that this is how an injured rape victim would act directly after the incident.
❌I’m not going to say who is murdered but I will say that when the murdered person is found with a dagger sticking out of his chest (the police have been notified and are on their way) the MMC strolls right into the crime scene puts his hand around the dagger handle and pulls the dagger out and slaps it on the desk table and then declares “I want the person who did the found!”. - the book ends there. The police are coming to investigate and you want the killer found, so you decide to put your entire hand around the murder weapon and pull it out of the dead person?? This is probably one of the worst written scenes I’ve ever read! Make this make sense.

First of all, check your trigger warnings before diving in to this series - specifically rape.

While I found this book entertaining it does have a lot of flaws. I gave this book a 2.5, the overall story is interesting and I've already started the second book just because I'm curious to see where it's going, but the few problems listed below are why I took an additional star away.

Ocean is a teenage girl, she and her mother are moving to a new town for a fresh start after her father is murdered. Her best friends are 4 men in their 20's and a gang. This is the first thing that strikes me as strange. The men do not speak or act like grown gang members...

The second thing that stands out as strange and is never addressed... Ocean is enrolled in an all boys school. She never asks anyone why, her Mother never questions it, no one at the school questions it. Very strange.

The biggest thing that I had a problem with is Ocean being raped, but then she is fine the next day, enough so that she even wants to have sex... If you are going to have a characters raped, you should at least have an appropriate response to this action and not just blow it off like it's nothing.

SHERIDAN !!!! Why do you like to play with my emotions like that!? But that’s ok we will get to that in a sec.

Oceana comes from nothing. A town riddled with violence and is part of the black widows crew. At least her boys are and her by association. When she has to move to a rich town thanks to her moms new job things are about to get more interesting. Without trying to give spoilers let’s say that if you’re looking for a book in the bully romance genre with a strong FMC, plot twists that will have you squeezing your kindle, hot guys that make you want to love and hate them all at the same time and a cliff hanger that will make you throw your kindle across the room? Yeah well what are you waiting for!?

And that whole throwing the kindle? Yeah that’s Sheridan playing with my emotions with that cliffhanger ending 😏😂

well this started out interesting but was a bunch of bleh. i'm very much for this type of series but there was something about the way this was written and portrayed was just ... *shudders*

it doesn't make any bit of sense. the male MCs were little forced and felt like they didn't have depth.

OMG!!!! That ending!! What is going to happen next?

Oceania, while the poor girl who's thrusted into the life of the rich after her mum takes a job with the Carringtons, she's one bad ass bitch who doesnt back down or break. But that doesnt stop COlton Carrington from trying his hardest to break her, along with his friends Spencer, Charlie and Jude.

But while Oceania is separated from her Crew in her old town, Nic who once broke her heart still cares for and wants to protects O at every turn, but will he be able to make her see that Colton and Bellevue Springs is bad news before its too late?
