This is the last book in The Birthright Series, and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was scared that I would end up completely heartbroken. The love triangle was kind of agonizing! From the start I was team Edam, but Noah grew on me so much, and I ended up loving him too. One was all fire and intensity, and the other was gentle and caring. They seriously needed to be combined into one guy! I honestly didn't know who she would end up with, and of course I'm not going to tell you, but I will say that I've read a couple of other books with love triangles that ended the way this one did, and I'm happy. A little heartbroken as well, but happy.
I'm probably making this series sound like it was all about the romance, but it wasn't. It was about a lot more than that. I enjoyed the overall plot. It was different from anything I had read before with the low fantasy setting in the real world, combined with the daughters of Eve and their descendants. I liked the sisterly bonds in the series as well, and the way it showed the different perspectives of the sisters. I also liked how it showed how sometimes people can get off track by the choices they make, even if their intentions started out good.
With seven books, this series has been a rather long one, but I loved all the books and it didn't bother me at all that there were seven of them. There may have been a few things that could have been left out, and I did feel like some things happened too quickly (namely babies) and maybe some things were wrapped up a little too neatly, but as I read this I thought about how nice it was to get all these little extras in this series. Namely, the alternate points of view books (which ended up being my favorites), and details like the weddings being included. That was what made this series so great to me. I loved getting to linger and spend the extra time with the characters in this series. I loved getting to see all the alternate points of view and how that changed the story. Overall this book was a great ending to the series and I'm looking forward to seeing what Bridget writes next!
Thanks to the author for providing me with an ARC of this book.
Omg! I’m crying! I don’t want it to end! You are going to have to pick this series up again and continue on with the story cuz I NEED more! Bravo Bridget! This was a beautiful ending to the series that captured my attention fully! I really really really hope you will continue this some day...and I will be here to read it again!
Look, i know it’s an impossibly optimistic ending… I know there’s a degree of trite that would turn a lot of people away from this kind of ending, but with all of the awfulness in this series I do not care I’m just so glad the characters that are still alive are happy. 😂
*spoiler v*
I usually hate when there are 2 great romantic options and the author kills one so our main character doesn’t have to make a choice… but I like this ending, I can’t help it. The recording of the 2 boys talking on the plane always breaks my heart so heavily. I would have been happier if she had been able to just love them both (I mean come on, these beings live for a THOUSAND years and monogamy is STILL the default setting for all of the families? Be so for real rn…) but if it has to be a monogamous ending, this was it.
Side note, Every mention of Judica in this book gives me so much dopamine. My baby girl deserves her happily ever after. I’m so glad she is still a terrifying and strong woman right till the end, and I love how much Roman loves her for just that. (I mean really, he bought her a black crown instead of a ring? The tackiest and sweetest shit ever, I’m swooning and I love them 😂) that aside, even though Judica is my favourite sister, I am glad she had a son, I cannot see her being a super healthy girl mum at this stage in her healing 😅😂
While my heart will forever ache for Melina and her wife buried in that patch of dirt under the ground (what I would give to have had a mention of them when they were in the garden and she was giving birth, I personally choose to believe that she’s in there with Noah and her wife happy and at peace) I think she would be so happy and proud to see how far everyone came, and to see how understood and loved she was in the end. 🥹
I did like this book, I did. But I feel cheated with the whole love triangle subplot ending. I have always personally felt that “oh the one I chose died so now I get to be with the other and have both” ending that happens in books sometimes to be a massive cop out. It makes me mad and feel cheated. Because this triangle has been a fairly significant subplot for the whole 7 book series. Aside from wondering “who dun it” you’re also wondering who will Chancery choose and hoping against hope that she chooses the team you’re batting for. So when it happens then the author is like “lol soz, but that person gonna die and then she’ll be with the other soon enough” it just feels like an attempt to please all of her audience. When I personally would’ve preferred she just have chancery pick Edam or Noah and be happy with them, whether the one she picked was my preference or not (#TeamNoah). This book would’ve been 4-4.5 stars but that whole love triangle subplot ending really bothered me. Noah dying was devastating and I understand the story behind it, just don’t give us that subplot ending with Edam please. Other than that it was good I enjoyed the pacing and storyline’s

Happy to be at the end, but the overall story was good. The magic of the stones and the tree were really out there, but worked somehow. Was wondering how the triangle of Noah and Chancery and Edam would wrap up. Good job on that. It wasn’t going the way I wanted it to go, and boom, the author creates the opening, and I am happy again. Different series; liked it, but am ready to be back to a different kind of fantasy or I should say more magical or supernatural. Too many of today’s current events were referred to in this series 😬
2.5 ⭐️ this finale was not outright terrible and if the previous books hadn’t been so offensive, I probably could’ve gotten past some of the silliness in this book. Deserts have to be farmland to be useful/healthy 🙄 my conservation biologist side could not handle that. Sad for Noah and Edam. Chancery is so desperate to be good that she is actually weak af and sacrifices wayyyy more than is necessary. Then throw in the pregnancy trope and I’m surprised I was able to rank this more than 1 star.
So glad I am done with this series so I never have to think about these books ever again.
The completing story for one of the very best series you will read. The Alamecha family, with one like this who needs enemies?
This is book # 7 in the series and I want to say if you have somehow got to this stage without reading the others then I urge you to cease going any further in this one and read the previous #1- #6 first. Promise you will not regret it because this series to me is unique. I have not read anything else that comes close to the incredible story line right through all the other books. I wonder just how the writer Bridget E Baker thought up all the characters and plots through this series, I just love it all and have actually read all the books twice through and found each time I gained more from the story.
Chancery Divinity Alamecha is a loving but troubled young girl who finds herself in the most difficult situation through her birth right to start with, but later from the mother Enora who was Empress. Her actions have positioned Chancery in a situation that a loving young teenager like her would least want to find themselves in. She is determined to overcome all the adversity she is forced to deal with but this is not easy because not all the people she is with agree with her, plus she has some family members very keen to end her rein. She has a Prophecy Dream about her future and that of the world and what she has to do for making life enjoyable and as safe as possible for both Evians and Humans, but she is also aware there is the strong likelihood she will not witness the result of her efforts. This does not prevent her from forging ahead with the actions she must take to achieve the, in her mind, way everyone should be able to survive.
Each book describes other members of the Alamecha family so one gains an insight into this extended family and how it functions and how the actions some members must take to survive. In the beginning it displays how the Evians behaved towards each other and particularly humans so is very brutal in some aspects, however, that helps develop Chancery's behavior of wanting to make things right for all..
Book #7 initially expands on the beginning lives of two young men, both as they get older fall in love with Chancery. They come from different worlds as far as a family background is concerned. It is really interesting how their lives have been blended into Chancery's causing her to have to make choices she does not want to particularly make, however, as difficult as it can be, she does not shy away from what she must do for the world and the people. This books then proceeds into the lives of the remaining characters still in the plot and in Chancery's team of faithful family, friends and colleagues who can really see Chancery and her ambitions of making good in the world. She is in many areas much loved and she returns that feeling to them. It also incorporates into the story others who would wish her harm, however, it is not always obvious who these others are, you have to read the story for their quests to arise and to see what it is that they want. The Garden of Eden becomes very important to Chancery too, but why? We also learn more about Balthasar, so who is he really in the mix of all these characters?
I do not want to write more in my review because there is so much to read about and gain gradually as you turn the pages of this final book and to drop clues by subtle suggestions of what's to come, I believe will spoil this final book in such a fantastic series, so please if not already done so, go to Book #1 and start a fabulous reading experience-please. I am sure you will love it too.
I have written this review of my own accord without any incentive or enticement from any person or company.
I wish I had seen the Young Adult classification when I started the series, and I rue that it is really difficult for me to stop once I start. The thing that stands out for me is unfortunately unlike the very insightful statement "An electric connection - I won't lie and say that isn't hard to pass up. But nurturing is vastly underrated". The ending just proved that electric connection is hard to pass up, and nurturing will continue to be vastly underrated. So here we are, with me really disappointed on many accounts, as this story ended breaking all my hopes and expectations that statement led me to have. ---- Its a few days after, and I am still so angry I guess. Possibly this is what the viewers of "The Lost" felt?
Well there were numerous other things which pissed me off. And I am hoping this rant just gets those out of my mind and I can put it behind. ---- Gah, yet another rant. There was more to the lovely statement above - "But if you have someone wiling to do all the nurturing, someone willing to shield you from the wind and share the sun, someone completely in balance with you like him." That versus an "electric connection". Guess if the situation is such that it will be "Pearls before swine", then I guess best to have that nurturer just die so that choosing the electric connection can be excused. Argh. I just wished I didn't read this series. The ending just went against all the supposed principles being talked about. Here the list:
This series was the best series I've read in quite a while and gave me a serious book hangover. I will give credit to the amazing job done by the narrator as well. The different voices were well done, and the emotion projected, the drama injected into each chapter, truly made the story come alive. It made me wonder how it would look as a TV or movie series, the author really should consider trying for that.
The blurbs really don't do the books justice, and if I hadn't gotten tried the free sample chapters of the audiobook and gotten completely sucked in, I likely never would have picked up this series. It also doesn't really strike me as a romance fantasy. It certainly has romance woven through it, but it isn't the focus, it's very slow burn for the main characters (painfully so, though it's important for the plot, I guess), and the side characters only show brief glimpses of their own romances.
This isn't an issue for me, other than for making it clear when a reader begins this series. You should realize this is more of a plot driven story, urban fantasy, with romantic elements. And the blurbs need so much help.
I lost a ton of sleep over the course of these books, as I simply had to know what happened next and couldn't stop listening until I was falling asleep. I also spent half of the last few books going through a box of tissues and crying my eyes out because of how emotional they made me! To experience such intense highs and lows for so many days in a row, it's no wonder I had such an extreme book hangover!
That means yes, I recommend this series very highly. In fact, this is the first in quite some time that I have bothered to recommend quite like this because it was just that good.
I just wonder if the experience of reading them is as intense as the experience of listening. I may try that out at some point, unless someone would like to let me know!
It's always annoying to choose the wrong ship. I've known it at least for the past 2 books but really, I had hope she'd kill off the other one ...
Pregnancy tropes are not ok as well. Not to me anyways. At least this wasn't that much of a major plot point just... the usual.
This was a nice closure book but it was all very predictable really.
I've read this whole series over... 10 days I think? It was fast, it was a page turner.
I really would like more books in this universe - Alora's story, maybe some of the older daughters? Maybe some other families! Judica's book is one of my favorites and while I was a little stressed at Inara, her book was really interesting as much as Melina's, I like the different POVs so it would be really cool to see more stories set in the past here.
Written from Chancery's perspective for the most part, however there are a few side areas that give some insight into three others. We get to see an interesting scene from Edam's point of view when he was still a child living with his mom, which I quite enjoyed. We see something from Noah when he was 9 years old. Lastly we see something from Mahalesh, and with this chapter you get learn about how the stone was split, and more.
This was such an epic ending for the series, so many areas had me in tears of both kinds (happy and sad). There is a few more scenes that you get to see from the past in this book, and it was so interesting to read.
I loved the ending, and am hoping to see about finding the small novella for what the ending showed. Cause while I still want more XD.
Okay, this one broke my heart. Chancery FINALLY makes her choice, although the two men don’t make it easy. The Garden of Eden is glorious and also not at all what I expected. Noah’s family is both very much and not at all as I pictured, but he has none of their less desirable traits. Judica and Chancery both have major surprises in their love lives. Some lives are lost and some are started. The world is destroyed and saved, made worse and better. The end of it though, ugh, have some tissues ready! I’m sad to say goodbye to these characters and the madness that is the evian world. Thank goodness I can start at the beginning and relive the struggles and sacrifices all over again!
Oh man, have I enjoyed this series. This book was the perfect culmination to it too. It tied all loose ends, explained all unanswered questions and gave me the ending I’ve wanted from the beginning, although twisted and sometimes painfully. The Birthright series has been a great read. The author’s ability to create such a fanciful world existing within the realm of reality was captivating. You won’t regret reading this series. It’s one of the best I’ve ever read.
It was cool reading about Noah’s and Adam’s childhoods in the beginning, gave more insight to them as characters. The way the story played out with the boys was beautiful too, a little expected, like I saw it coming but it was beautiful nonetheless.
I’d teared up a couple times by the very end, it was a wonderful conclusion to a roller coaster of emotions, thoughts and opinions I felt over the space of 2 weeks reading the whole series. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the entirety of it. I’ll be re-reading everything again at some point.
I fell in love with this series out of nowhere. I absolutely devoured it. I love the way the other characters were explored and given depth. I can't even really explain what I love about it but I just did!
Judica is still one of the best characters. We love her.
Also, I don't actually mind how the love triangle ended. It gives Jane the Virgin vibes and I think it was handled well. She fell in love with both and had a good ending with both. I like that Chancery stayed sweet and kind no matter what and matured as time went on.

A satisfying conclusion to the series! All the loose ends got tied up. I have enjoyed all along how she has dovetailed Biblical history and world history into the story. She has the children of Eve living for roughly 1000 years each. From a biblically historical perspective, the Earth was created about 6000 years ago. And the children of Eve are 7th generation - at least the msin characters are. Then she explains the origin of the continents, from one super continent, Pangea. Although it was probably a result of the Flood, in reality. The narration is excellent, as usual.
I loved it. Made me cry three times but in a good way. I love that the story didn't just end where you would expect it to. Bridget continued on after and continued to build a new world and tie everything up by the end. That end! It was great. A wonderful way to wrap up an amazing series. I'm so thankful I stumbled upon this series on fb. I enjoyed reading it completely. Bridget is an amazing writer!
This was truly the culmination of the entire series. It answered all the open-ended questions, like - "What about Edom?" I am pleased with the series. I listened to each book and looked forward to the newest installment. I am a bit saddened that the series is over, but looking forward to more series from Bridget Baker.
I recommend this series for any age. The content was clean and still had romance, action, and suspense. I liked the series so much that I already want a reunion. Maybe something with the babies all grown-up. This is definitely a good read.
I’m glad that this was the last book in the series and not book 6. I like this story, it finishes the series cleanly and with some flair. I can be big and admit I cried a few times, I told the book off a few times as twists were flung our way and over all just enjoyed the book. This however was the first book that I felt God was being pushed; but I guess if you read a series about the children of Adam and Eve you should expect some reference to God and his will.
I enjoyed this story as an audiobook. It is narrated by Jennifer Jill Araya. This is part of the birthright series and must be read in order. It is a clean romantasy.
This was an amazing wrap up to the Birthright series. I loved seeing the ending of the series from Chancery’s point of view. The growth we have seen from her throughout the series is unmatched. The ending has tied everything up and doesn’t leave you hanging. 10/10 recommend this series.
I struggled on how to rate this. I was drawn in and was a part of all that happened. A lot was revealed. I think some things were too easy and some too hard. I did NOT like the ending. I was so emotionally involved in it that I was devastated in the end. Even though things are in a good place in the end, I feel the loss as if it was my own. I enjoyed the earth healing process and what was accomplished in a relatively short period of time. I guess that means it was an awesome book.
Wow! Just wow. What a way to bring things full circle. Its like you read my mind about the one biggest thing I wanted but couldn't figure out how to make happen. An even if I feel the series could continue (maybe one more book that is 5 or 10 years in the future to show how things turned out but thats me being selfish), it ends perfectly here too. This series has been amazing. 10/10 would recommend 💙
What an incredible ending! I was honestly at the edge of my seat the entire time, steadily reading and not being able to stop, even for bed! This well written conclusion took more twists and turns, ones I never expected, and was a really engaging read throughout. It was also nice to see characters get a happy ending.
Reviewing for the series, because it was to good to stop and review every book.
I devoured this series. Its fun, heartbreaking, sincere and thankfully complete, waiting a year for each new release would have been torture. I highly encourage anyone wanting something to sink their teeth into to give it a try.
WOW! What an exciting ending to the series. A lot of twists and turns, some I had guessed but wasn’t sure if I was right but most I didn’t see coming. A clean story with one swear word that I can remember. Bridget Baker is a creative and amazing author, you won’t be disappointed in purchasing this book, series or any of her other books.
I received a free copy of this book to review. All opinions are my own.
Perfect ending to a wonderful series! All mg questions were answered. All the story lines came together to get all wrapped up. Several twists and turns, some action and adventure, and characters really learning about themselves. I enjoyed the whole series and this was a great ending.
Found myself happier with the wrap up of this series than I expected to be while starting this book. Bridget actually ended up finding a way to tie things up in a way that felt right considering how everything had happened up to Destroyed. Overall, the series was engrossing and had me captivated from the first book to the last, even if I wasn't always happy with the way the story was going.
3.5/5 This was a really good end to the series, although I am so upset Noah died. I loved him and Chancery together, but I'm glad Edam stepped in and treats their children as his own. The ending was good, but I feel like it could have ended sooner because the last 20% didn't really need to be there.

What a bummer.... Not sure why it has such good reviews. I thought it was a extremely disappointing end to the series. The choices by most the characters in the end are just dumb and not very satisfying. Storylines that have been dragged on for books are concluded in ways that let down your anticipation.... 😢
