Almost Keto: A Practical Approach to Lose Weight with Less Fat and Cleaner Keto Foods

Rate this book
100 recipes, meal plans, and tactics for success! The Keto diet continues to grow in popularity as people across the country are learning more and more about it. However, there is conflicting research regarding the safety of consuming unlimited amounts of items such as bacon, cheese, fatty cuts of meats, and fried pork rinds. A large percentage of Keto dieters find the 70–80 percent fat intake requirement unsustainable, and even worrisome due to potential health implications. Many people are curious about the Keto lifestyle, given the weight loss results they hear about from others, but will not attempt the diet as the fat intake requirement sounds daunting! Almost Keto will provide a formal, lower fat, higher fiber, higher micro-nutrient nutrition plan while still employing cleaner keto-approved foods. It will help readers yield positive weight loss and blood sugar level results while providing a more sustainable and healthier lifestyle. A practical how-to guide with nutrition education (cited with studies), Almost Keto also provides over 100 recipes that incorporate keto-approved foods. Nutritionist Aimee Aristotelous will break down the different types of Keto, the principles and foundation of the diet, as well as niche Keto foods to know and what to eliminate. She will debunk mainstream dietary myths, provide sample meal plans, and offer dozens of delicious, Keto-friendly recipes you'll want to try immediately.

Almost keto is a lower carb approach that does not require you to be in ketosis and also adds fruit to the diet. I think it's a healthier approach than keto. It reminds me a lot of Paleo as you can have meat, veggies, and fruit, but no grains.

My favorite part of the book is the section on macros, which I think is very helpful.

This book tells you exactly what to eat to lose weight and achieve overall wellness. It's not full-blown Keto which is much easier and more sustainable and all of the recommendations are still low in sugar and moderately low in carbs so you will get results. The authors focus on the highest quality fats such as avocado, extra-virgin olive oil, and wild salmon. They also allow for more carbohydrates by way of green veggies and low-sugar fruits. There are numerous nutrition charts, meal plans, and recipes with beautiful food photography. Once I started eating this way, I dropped weight quickly and my cholesterol levels went from bad to terrific.

Good balance of nutrition information, meal suggestions, and recipes. This diet is much healthier than the average keto diet and can be followed for a lifetime with little effort.

I thought this book was a good combination of why and how There are recipes There are charts — chose one item to eat from this column and 2 to eat from this column There was compromise — on doing what you can and not being so strict because many of us fail at the thought of never eating cake again
There is science and biology on how our body works and why we should all be leaner

A great insight into a more sustainable lifestyle change with better balanced carb, protein, fats and micro nutrients intake. My wife and I have both read the book and adopted the almost keto lifestyle and we’ve each lost weight, made health gains and feel stronger too.

Creative recipes and great pictures but I'm having a hard time understanding how a "diet" cookbook doesn't have nutritional info for each recipe.

I have been researching Keto for some time now. The total Keto concept has been scary for me because of elevated cholesterol. The title of this book jumped out at me, because this is exactly what I had been looking for, and I was not disappointed. The authors have provided excellent, easy to understand information about this program and some great recipes that I hope will help me embrace a healthier lifestyle. I love to cook so I cannot wait to try the recipes and the recommended meal plans. This book is easy to read and understand. The charts are colorful and the photos are beautiful.

This book is a complete time waste. Amature writing, patched content repeatedly presented in different chapters. It looks like the authors read quite a few articles on keto but could hardly manage assembling their knowledge into something meaningful. Meal plans and recipes are completely not related to the life of an average person, who packs their lunchbox and has no time doing all the sophistication. I also find some moments contradicting.
