While Juliana Haygert dreams of being Wonder Woman, Buffy, or a blood elf shadow priest, she settles for the less exciting—but equally gratifying—life of a wife, mother, and author. She resides in North Carolina and spends her days writing about kick-ass heroines and the heroes who drive them crazy.

The Fae Bound is book 8 in Juliana Haygert’s Rite World series and this book picks up where things left off in book 7. Farrah has been wed to the dark prince in the hopes of saving her people from being condemned to a slow death in the mortal realm. She knows the price that she is going to pay…but she believes it is for the better good. Now, the author continues with Farrah and Wyatt’s story as they fight to stay alive and escape the fates that they have bound themselves to. The Fae Bound, for me, is much improved in comparison to The Wolf Forsaken. I felt that the characters are more balanced and the storyline is more engaging. The author weaves into this story the expected twists and then there are some unusual twists that I liked as well. Farrah seems to be more balanced in this book and I like that while she knows the dangers that she is facing she doesn’t openly go courting trouble in the process. The author piques my interest when she brings back some characters/creatures that…on a level…I had thought and hoped we wouldn’t be seeing again. LOL! But where’s the fun in that? Now, while I do feel that this book is better, there are some hiccups in it. The author has a certain scene with Wyatt and his past catching up to him, but it feels like something is missing. I feel like a lead up to the overall scene is missing. I know that demons are crafty, but I just feel that there is something that could have been added to connect the dots. There are a couple of moments with Farrah of where I’m a bit disappointed in her for not seeing the truth, but I see how it all comes together so I can’t be too down about it. The way that this book ends on a cliffhanger with both characters revealing the secrets that they have been keeping from each other makes me eager to learn what happens next. Things are about to get heated and I’m on the edge of my seat to find out how it all goes down. I have to know…do they get their HEA or does this story end with heartbreak? I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I like Farrah more in this book, and I like that it feels like the story is more balanced with me getting more of Wyatt as well and that it doesn’t feel more like Farrah’s story instead of both of theirs. If you have enjoyed the series to this point then I encourage you to pick up this book to learn how Farrah handles her situation with the dark prince, and how Wyatt fights to reclaim his mate.
5 stars for this book! I have read this story line from the first rite of the vampire book and have loved everyone. But these 2 may be my favorite characters. I loved reading about their story and how it developed. I can not wait to read the next book.
***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***
I absolutely loved Wyatt and Farrah in the other series and was so excited they were getting their own spin off! This book was so captivating and thrilling. From the start, I couldn’t put the book down!
Farrah has quite the past and everything that could have popped up did! This book picks up right where the last one left off and wow! This book had even more twists and angst than the first book in the series!
I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!
I loved this story but I was sad it was so short. Wyatt is such a amazing character and Farrah is incredible. Both are incredibly stubborn. I can't wait for the next book!
OMG I loved this! Captivated from the very start I just could not put this down and just love Wyatt and Farrah! Carrying on from the previous book there’s even more twists and turns as the Wolves, fae, demons and witches all wage war for power! I totally recommend this entire series as I have been hooked from the very start!
The Fae Bound is the eighth book in the Rite World Universe by Juliana Haygert - which is a captivating, interconnected tapestry of paranormal romance and fantasy adventure. And rather than being a single series, it’s a shared world where multiple storylines - each with its own MCs, conflicts, and romances – all woven together amongst plenty of supernatural intrigue. What makes this universe stand out is the huge variety of supernatural beings -vampires, witches, shifters, angels, and more – who are all coexisting in a world that feels both magical and dangerous. Ms. Haygert has a knack for blending fast-paced action with plenty of emotional depth, ensuring that battles and betrayals are balanced by heartfelt relationships and the character’s personal growth. While each series within the universe can be enjoyed on its own, reading them all offers a rewarding sense of continuity and layered worldbuilding. So, if you enjoy supernatural worlds with high stakes, sizzling romance, and characters you’ll want to follow on any adventure, then this universe is a binge-worthy contender. Happy Reading…
One of the fun things about Juliana Haygert’s Rite World series is how it keep reinventing itself with new sub-series set in the same superbly constructed universe. The result is keeping the benefit of all that imaginative world-building while refreshing things with new starting characters and plot lines. The latest of these started with The Wolf Forsaken, the first book in her new Rite of the Wolf series (and 7th book overall in the Rite World series). I loved the start of Farrah and Wyatt’s story there (which I separately reviewed), and I pretty much binge read through the next two books, The Fae Bound and The Blood Pact (Rite World Books 8&9; Rite of the Wolf Books 2&3). Wolves, fae, demons and witches, oh my! More importantly: superb writing, fantastic plots that take you places unexpected but totally grand, and total fun. These books were an addictive blast and are easy to (highly) recommend.
The author has written a good story where a Fae Princess gets to be the saviour by surrendering to an Evil Fae Prince and marrying him. However, before the marriage night and all that it entails is completed, they must wait 3 months. Then, the Princess's mate, a warewolf shifter tries by all means to rescue her, falls into the hands of witches and demons, is rescued by a Fae and a Fallen angel, and jumps back into the game to free his mate. Add to that, a magical medallion and a magical talisman for the heroin to plot her escape and the reader gets a sense of deja Vue. 3 Stars.
I really enjoyed reading this book however I would have liked it if they were a little bit longer. Looking forward to the next in this series and recommend reading.
