“Chaos to chaos, and peace to peace. To think this is the end, you must first remember your beginning.”
Alex thinks he’s made it. Melissa hopes she’s safe. They will not find rest. Watch closely. The end has yet to come.
On a jet, Alex has passed his trial. What awaits is Corpus, an academy that will guide him on the road to self-discovery. The only Oddity to appear in decades, his merit is expected, but an attack is not.
Melissa returns to shelter, having survived her ordeal with Shadow's help, yet still, she is not respected. Manipulated by cunning hands, she sits and waves when told. Silent in the midst of false salutes, she is dejected before an Oddity whose existence is more strange than hers as he walks out on the stage. Her hope that is more thin than paper is ripped apart by an unseen hand.
The third sequel in the Dark Light Series quartet, Panic delivers jarring continuation. Defying reader expectations with an unpredictable storyline, violence becomes introspective and characters question their inner selves in a plot that takes a reminiscent look at how life’s challenges shape what it means to be human.
Cunning and rich with unseen surprises, this fast paced military sci-fi series by multi-genre author D.J. Hoskins is a unpredictable adventure that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

That's pretty much what you think right from the start... Like "wait......... That was the hero...... Right?" This chapter of the series makes you question what you know and what you learned from the two books before, and here you see a thickening of the plot that was, up until now, a bit linear and somehow predictable at times.
I love how Alex developed here, how he grew and at the same time I didn't expect him to be so full of himself! As to Melissa, the fact that Shadow now as more influence was a surprise, specially the kind of influence he has, nothing before pointed to this, but in my opinion, right now, she is the voice of morality for me! Kind switched places with Alex in some way!
Again, the story evolves a lot and changes a lot, but I still feel like it could be one book with these three chapters, since only this one has the cliffhanger that justifies breaking the book (even if just slightly).
Thank to the author for contacting me and giving me the opportunity to read and review this amazing adventure!!
This book was freely given to be by the author through BookSirens in exchange for an honest review!
This is book three in the Dark Light Series. The action springs out of the gate like a stampede of frightened ungulates. This authors action scenes are cool, clear descriptions of powerful beings wielding titanic forces. D J Hoskins has an ability to write action scenes that rivals the best of their fellow authors. When you set the action in the world they build to contain them it immerses the reader into the book. The characters from the previous books Paragon and Paralysis continue to grow and mature in a natural manner. I highly recommend this book to all readers my only caveat is that the series be read in the order intended.

This book was so action-packed. My thoughts came true during the reveals from the previous stories. Both Alex and Melissa end up being like whole new characters, but a lot happens to shape them. There was a strong ending, action-wise, but I feel that it left a lot of speculation as to what will happen to the pair of main characters. I hope there is more to come with this series.

I was excited to read this installment in the series. About a third of the way into the book all my previous expectations were thrown wildly aside. Soon it became chasing after plot twists along with break-neck action. I am pleased to report that the last two thirds flew by and I am eagerly awaiting the continuation of the story.

DON,T PANIC. Oh no Alex is beaten ,Melisa is caught by suprise. Will Kaiga be of help or fail. Will they all survive. This eBook is more exciting than the others and it does not stop ,very hard to put the book down had to use matches to keep my eyes open. Fantastic ,loved it a really good book.
Plenty of surprises in this book and I liked how the main characters finally join up. Totally had no idea where the story was heading but it was quite the ride. Can't wait to see what's going to happen next.
The forces are at war and the mages are discovering their powers and abilities. Interesting and easy to read. Very entertaining! I downloaded a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Panic: A Sci-Fi Fantasy Thriller (Dark Light Series Book 3), my third read from author D.J. Hoskins, an author I'd not heard of before reading Paragon (Dark Light, #1) & Paralysis (Dark Light, #2). I'm not a particular fan of sci-fic. Personally, I prefer mystery and thrillers. Still, I look forward to more from this author. I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
