Evangeline Anderson is a registered MRI tech who would rather be writing. And yes, she is nerdy enough to have a bumper sticker that says “I’d rather be writing.” Honk if you see her! She is thirty-something and lives in Florida with a husband, a son, and two cats. She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for it. To her delight, she found that it was actually possible to get money for having a dirty mind and she has been writing paranormal and Sci-fi erotica steadily ever since.

A wonderful twin diversity of Kindred and their special Mates
Captured By The Kru’ell – Dark Tales
Allisandra is not sure if she is losing her mind but she knows that if she were to broach the subject with anyone they would most definitely believe that she was going mad, The warrior that she has been seeing in her dreams is a Kindred Warrior and is obvious to her that Kane, which is the name he goes by in her dreams believes her to be his.
Then she has been sleeping she has found herself fastened in a device from which there is no escape, it is called the Stinging Frame and it would appear that the desire she feels he needs to feed off and this has been becoming a frequent. In the Hall Of Shadows was where he enjoyed toying with his victims, and feeding off their pleasure.
Will he actually reveal himself properly and discuss what it is he needs from her; will this continue to happen or will he tire of her? There are so many questions but when you receive no chance to ask questions, she is left confused and also somewhat put out.
Her fiancé Douglas with whom she was soon to marry it was apparent that this would be a marriage of convenience, more of a business match and nothing more. He was condescending and was self-centred and it was obvious that it would not be a love match, would a life of simple functionality be enough too see her through the rest of her life.
This was a wonderful and very different read you will thoroughly enjoy.

Saved By The Dragon – Light Tales
Lucia is now a single mother after living with an abusive husband that had beaten her and terrorised her three young children, when she knew he would turn his physical rage on them she had left him with not a penny to her name, he had kept everything.
Working as a Vet Tech she had twin boys and her older daughter who was five going on fifty-five and like her mother had a heart of gold and love animals of all shapes and sizes, when she grew up, she wanted to become a vet.
When the large Kindred Warrior had approached with three baby kitten asking for her help she had not realised where this friendship would lead, he was so kind and generous and he cared about her children, her mother and the menagerie of animals they cared for, they all felt the same about him and all he wanted was to keep them safe and make them his own family.
However, some time things are not easy but the Goddess has a way of finding a solution and leading the way and when her ex decided to pay them an uninvited visit and hurt his family it was to be his final abusive act to Lucia and her wonderful family.
The Drake that has been sleeping for so many years comes to the rescue saving the family and also healing the harm done to each of them, his dragon is a thing of beauty and wields its power with a fist of iron.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Dark and Light, the Kindred Tales Duet: Captured by the Kru’ell One and Saved by the Drake

Evangeline Anderson is a name known by many who enjoy science fantasy and fiction. Although I’ve read all of her books, I have never read anything like the Duet book. Made up of two separate Kindred Tales, each one is a complete story and could be read alone. To have both in one book is a great gift to us Loyal Fans. When I first saw the title, I thought the book would be about Twin Kindred separated at birth so the stories would intertwine. I was so wrong about that as the two are not related at all, actually being two different types of Kindred. It is their types and actions that label them as Dark and Light.

Light is Rast, a hybrid warrior born of two different types of Kindred. He is part Beast and part Drake and believes he can never bond, since most hybrids cannot. The lady in distress, Lucia, has three children and an abusive ex-husband. As I was reading Light, I thought poor Lucia’s life could not get any worse. Her ex refuses to pay child support, so she works overtime as a vet tech and is still under the poverty line. After a difficult day at work, her old car won’t start and her cell phone is dead. Knowing she has no money for a cab, she has to walk to her mom’s where her children stay until she can pick them up. As she worries how she will pay to get her car fixed, Rast finds her. For a while all is good for her, but I know it will not continue. And it does not.

Dark is Kane, a Kru’ell One, a race that doesn’t bond and lives on the emotions of their concubines. Allisandra is a human lawyer working on legal issues on the Mother Ship. She is about to marry a man she doesn’t love and who doesn’t love her, but who will offer companionship on his own terms. Dark starts out gloomy with Alli dream sharing with Kane, but her dreams are nightmares. Because she is aboard the Mother Ship daily, she knows many of the Kindred. When she describes the Kindred in her dreams to Sophie and Sylvan overhears, they recognize him as a Kru’ell One, an emotional vampire from another universe. Ms. Anderson tells us he knows how to cross the universe barrier and comes for her. With his promise he will bring her back after a month, she agrees to go with him. If you have read any of the Kindred novels, you know troubled times are coming. And they do.

I was completely captivated by both of these stories. Although Ms. Anderson has crossed universe boundaries in previous Kindred Tales, Dark was unique. I’ve met other hybrids in her writing, too, but none of them were like Rast in Light. I felt as if I were exploring something entirely different from the other Kindred novels. Her muse must have worked overtime to have her come up with this Duet. I just loved it so much I’m ready to start both all over again now.

When light meets dark
What a captivating pair of books brought to us by this author. I loved that there were two completely unique stories differentiated by their actions.

Captured by the Kru’ell One
Out of my nightmares
The author took us on an incredible journey with this book. Both of her characters had to relook at the course their lives were going and decide if they wanted to be okay or live a life of fulfillment. I enjoyed this dark book and it perfectly complemented the light of the next book making for a reading experience that was truly out of this world.
5 stars

Saved by the Drake
In her time of need
I always love this author’s Drake stories. I don’t know if it is just because I am a fan of dragons or if it is because her dragons really seem to have a tough time of it. This book especially got to me because it was a struggling single mom who was so in need of rescuing. And rescue them he does, in such glorious fashion. The characters are so enchanting, and I felt drawn into their story and the struggles that they faced. I truly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next book by the author.

Saved by the Drake - Lucia and Razhir (Raze)

Definitely a “Light” story. Lucia has had it pretty rough, but she’s doing what’s got to be done while keeping true to her family and heart. The utter sweetness you get from Raze makes mending a battered spirit like Lucia has seem easy. Such a heartwarming read. I could have read a full length novel on these two and their family, both furry and not, and still have wanted more.

Captured by the Kru’ell One - Allisandra Stone (Alli) and Kane

Yeah! Now that’s what I’m talking about! This story may be dark to some, but for many this is light. Personal truths may be able to be suppressed and buried, but they’re always there just waiting in the wings to find freedom. Kane brings Alli all that and so much more. It a super sexy ride. You’re gonna want to read this one, for sure.

It's always a treat to read this author, doesn't hurt that the Kindred are hawt.

These are two very diverse stories, one a Drake and the other a very cruel man, or is he?
I enjoyed the dragon one the best, a second chance at love for this mother doing it tough.

The second story was in another dimension where the Earth was a different place. Ruled by a sadistic monster, times needed to change. This woman on the brink of her marriage, more for convenience has her life turned upside down. Will she find happiness in the end too?

Great stories and wonderful characters, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I absolutely enjoyable both of these stories. Each stories brought a different element of surprise. Add-in the intrigue, suspense, action, and of course steamy romance to keep you hook from beginning to end giving you have a helluva read. Looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. I received a free copy via booksprout I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.

Loved the duet but enjoyed the darker one more

The duet is a great idea for combining tales but I found that the Kru'ell tale was the more enjoyable one. It had more oompf to it that made it meatier and I loved the concept of the vampiric Kindred.
The light tale was enjoyable but a little too sweet for my taste even with the drama.
Still both are great additions to the series

The first Story saved by the drake Was sooo pure and innocent. I Just wanted to cuddle All the caracters! I hope that Rochelle gets her own Story 😄.

The Second one captured by the Kru'ell One had my heart racing in some parts. I could absolute sink into the dynamic from Alli and Kane. I wished He would have been a Little more harder. But still this Story got me fully going 🙈☺️.

Know i'm excited to read about the New special Kindred race... The Nightwalker 🤤🤤🤤😖!!

From all of her books one of my Favorites 🥰

It’s an interesting really to have two kind of Kindred Tales in one book—both heroes on either side of the spectrum. And so, because there are two stories, it’s hard not to compare them, despite both being very different from one another.

If you ask me whether I would pick the Light or the Dark, well, call me boring but I would pick the Light Kindred any day! I loved his story better. It also has kittens, cute children and a protective, fatherly hero? What’s not to like?

I found that as I’m getting older, I have zero patience for persistent heroes who won’t take no for an answer. You know, the kind of heroes who claim to know better than the heroine. Yes sure, in his case, he was right about what the heroine desired, but still! He was so damn pushy, it was so irritating. No thank you.

Dark and Light: A Kindred Tales DUET Novel. Obtains : Saved by the Drake and Captured by the Kru’ell One- Evangeline Anderson

Both books were awesome reads, and as you’ll often find with this authors Kindred books, that which is dark often finds light by the end of the story.

Light Tale- single mom Lucia is supporting her twin boys and five year old daughter working as a vet tech. She has always loved animals and would have loved to become a vet. Escaping an abusive ex Lucia creates a safe life for her family.
One day she is approached by a huge kindred male who has found a litter of kittens and my heart melts along with Lucia’s.
Rast is a dual Kindred, part Beast and part Drake (dragon shifter). He has never been able to reach his dragon or shift.
Together their journey is a challenging one but will their strength and developin love be enough to fix their lives and have their HEA?

Dark Tale- Kane is a Kindred called Dark Ones because they supposedly do. It have a soul and therefore cannot mate.
Allisandra works on the mothership as a lawyer for any legal issues. She loves her job and returns home weekends to a boring fiancé which meets her expectations of being ok with the status quo.
For awhile now she has been scared from crazy dreams of dark kindred claiming to know all her darkest desires. Sylvan and Sophie recognize the man she is dreams bring with as a Kru’ell one. They feed off of emotions and exist in another universe. A very emotional rollercoaster adventure is in store for both Kane and Allisandra when he finally finds her. Though dark perhaps Kane does know what lurks in this females desires. This was an exciting , thrilling, hot ,amazing read and somehow leads them to the light.
How lucky are we that this fantastic author has treated us to two amazing stories in one book.

Dark and Light, the Kindred Tales Duet: Captured by the Kru’ell One and Saved by the Drake written by Evangeline Anderson was a brilliant edition.
In the first story, Captured by the Kru’ell One we have the beautiful Allisandra who believes that she might be losing her mind. Working on the mothership she has witnessed many strange occurrences but never thought she would be part of something bizarre. Allisandra believes that she lives a truly boring life, even her upcoming marriage was more about safety than excitement. The dreams she has been having for the last several months though are about to examine whether wants to feel truly alive. Kane is a Kru’ell One, a Kindred from an alternative universe. In this universe there is no goddess and women are not as treasured as our usual Kindred believe. Kane thought he knew what he wanted in life and has been content having a concubine instead of a mate for many years. What Kane does not realise is the goddess whether believed in or not is always there for her children and it time for Kane to realise just how precious a female is.
Saved by the Drake is the second story in the duet. This is the story about Lucia who is a hard working single mum trying to make ends meet. Raze is the honourable Drake Kindred who wants nothing more than to protect his precious mate and give her everything she ever desired. After managing to get her life on track after leaving an abusive husband, Lucia will need to take a leap of faith to find true happiness. Saved by the Drake is a sweet story about a second chance in love and is quite an easy read.

For a explicit romance escape Kindred tales are a good choice. In this book there are two fairly different stories. The "light" and "dark" are both ok story lines and I'm used to the guy giving up "the girl for her own good" and the girl decides that means he doesn't really like her and making rash decisions in her upset.
But there are a couple of things in the second book that seem improbable. The girl is supposed to be a highly educated lawyer. She's got a fiancé and is not using birth control herself so she relies on her partner to pull out to not get pregnant. What year is this? why doesn't he use a condom?

Her finance is a crap lover and they don't really love each other, but when she is with the Kindred she's still worried about cheating on her fiancé so they rationalize that it's only cheating if they fuck and it's not fucking unless he actually pumps in and out... so if he just penetrates and lets her flex around him or they use some sort of mechanical divide that moves them together and apart its not them fucking and therefore is ok. Sorry but that is the worst rationalization ever. If you are going to take her from her man and have her then just own it. If you know you want him to give it to you, then own it. When you get back to your fiancé, if you still want him, tell him the truth and take your chances that he'll keep you or not.

Kane has gone for long stretches without a concubine (which presumably means without feeding) as he's particular about who he feeds on. So how is it that he's dying after a separation of only a few days with Ally?

Truly an interesting book. I love how two stories were included in this book. You got the sweet and a heartwarming kind of story and then a dark and forbidden story. I can’t choose which was my favorite. I truly loved them both.

I would like to say I love how she mixed the drake and the beast Kindred. I always love Hybrid stories. But I also love this new type of Kindred she added in the second story. Man both Kindred were super hot.

Loved both females in each story. This author always makes a strong female character in her stories and I love that about them. I love how each female truly compliments the Kindred she has put them with.

This was truly a great story and I look forward to seeing more Kindred stories.

Kindred come in all types. This one gives you a light story and a dark story. Both very different but both guarantee a happily ever after. Each has the gorgeous and large Kindred that we all wish were real.

Light - meet the hybrid Kindred that believes he will never be able to find his true mate and bond with her. Raze is as sweet as they come. When he needs help with some stray kittens who have lost their mother he will meet Lucia. Lucia is a divorced mother of three. Her ex became abusive and controlling.

Dark - Ali is a forty something woman. For months she has had a dream that scares her. He is in her dream and what he promises both terrifies her and excites her. There is some light bondage but she is always given a choice.

We get two different Kindred stories in one which is great. The first is light hearted and kind while the second is dark and dangerous. I found I enjoyed the light story better than the dark, but both are new adventures in the Kindred universe. They both have strong Kindred warriors, one hybrid and another a Kru'ell One, along with even stronger and confident women. Both stories will have sexy encounters and obstacles to overcome before they get to the happy ending we all know and love in Kindred stories. Great as usual

I was reading another ebook this morning when I thought about checking my email. Lo and behold, I read about Evangeline's new novel. I bought it and just finished. I almost always love the Kindred and more times than not I can relate to the curvy female. I've read just about every Kindred novel, tale, whatever and I still get hooked and can't wait to read what happens and how. I don't know what's next, but I going along for the ride..

Loved the contrast between these two different Kindred Tales.
The stories are similar in that each warrior experiences seismic life alterations when a loved one is threatened.
If a choice had to be made, it would be hard to choose a preference between Kane or Raze who both have intense and sensual qualities that are very attractive!

Dark and Light consists of two stories featuring both the light and the dark side of romance. I particularly enjoyed Light. Adding the love of family AND the love animals to a romance is a win-win for me and Raze and Luci were a lovely couple. All I and Kane’s story was darker but I still liked it although not as much as Light.

These stories are the perfect balance between the different kindred. The romantic, loving side that’s a fierce protector and will do all he can to take care of those he loves, and the dark and twisted side of those who enjoy the darker side of life to the fullest. These stories drew me in and made it very difficult to put down.

This is 2 wonderful stories that make you go awww to rawwrr. I loved the different concepts that were presented to us and we didn't have to choose. We got the innocent book and then we got the darker book. This was such a terrific way to get out of my head with the stress of day to day life. It was worth the time and would highly recommended that you give this book a chance. It basically gives you 2 books for the price of one.

If I had to describe this story in three words these would be it. Down. Right. Delicious. Miss Anderson has done it again and this story is a MUST READ. Two sides. One happy and sultry. One dark and desirable. Both with the same end game. To make you SWEAT. Both stories are sooooo good and I hope she will continue to do double feature stories as they are so much fun to read. This book gets 5+ Stars.

I enjoyed reading 📚about the light kindred tale with the characters and animals. The dark kindred book made my heart speed up and I didn't like the idea of being stung before making love with a kindred. Liked it when Lucy took charge when making love to her light Kinder warrior at the end of book, I also liked Alsandra very much in the lot of the dark book. Alsandra very much in charge of her relationship with the dark kinder.

A taste of both good and dark
I thoroughly enjoyed the light book. Even though there was trouble the good guy wins in the end. And suck a sweetheart he is.
I also enjoyed reading the dark one. Even though it is not my normal style I still enjoyed reading.
Each book is a well written self-contained story.

Not sure how I feel about this one. The light one wasn’t as light as I would have hoped. The dark one, likewise, wasn’t as dark as I expected. The stories were at least different than a lot of the other kindred tales, which can get rather repetitive. But I didn’t love either one. I guess I’m going with 2.5 stars rounded up because of the lack of repetition.

Both stories have capitaving adventures for sure. Between animal lovers and secret desires it was great fun to share them. Wonder how the kids like drake and how they interact, did her mom make her tamales and such on the mothership as well as taking in the sun and enjoying the kids. Does this mean that Alli and Kane get to live in the White House or in his fortress?

I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobooks of this title.(Goodfm)
Two stories, both about Kindred's, but each with a different way of treating the woman they have found before them.
However, as this series shows, the Goddess is hands on, and will interven when her influence is needed to get the right pair together.
