Estranged: Blood Moon

Protect the girl…
I’ve spent the last twenty-five years fulfilling the promise I made to my best friend on the eve of his death. They executed him for daring to fall for a human. I can’t imagine what they would do to the child had they known she existed. Which they never will.
Half-human and half-vampire, she’s a hybrid of two worlds. Extremely rare, she’s something of myths, and old wives’ tales. I cannot let them destroy her, even if it means losing everything—including my life.
Desperate for a change…
Raised by my Ya-ya, I never quite fit into the world around me. When I learned of an inheritance from the father I never knew, I jumped at the chance to learn something about myself.
But soon I find things aren’t what they appear. My body is changing in ways I don’t understand. And the man…Alessandro. I know nothing about him. Except he excites me and terrifies me in the same breath. I should stay away from him. He’s dangerous. But I can’t, it’s as though my body craves him.

Estranged: Blood Moon pulled me in with its mix of romance, mystery, and supernatural intrigue. I really enjoyed the idea of a half-human, half-vampire heroine who is trying to understand where she comes from while discovering that there is much more to her story than she ever imagined.

The relationship between her and Alessandro adds a lot of tension to the story. There’s that perfect feeling of being drawn to someone you know you probably shouldn’t trust, which kept me curious about what would happen next. I also loved the protective side of the story and the secrets surrounding the heroine’s past.

As a fan of paranormal romance, I appreciated the combination of family secrets, danger, attraction, and the vampire world. The story has an intriguing premise and enough twists and unanswered questions to keep the pages turning. KC Rice does a nice job creating a world that feels mysterious while still keeping the emotional side of the characters at the heart of the story.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read for anyone who likes vampire romance with mystery, forbidden attraction, and a heroine discovering her true identity. I definitely found myself wanting to know what would happen next.

Estranged: Blood Moon has a strong hook: a vampire protector honoring a decades-old promise to guard the daughter of his executed best friend — who turns out to be a rare human-vampire hybrid awakening a dangerous bloodline. The forbidden, "dangerous but irresistible" tension between Alessandro and Alexa is exactly what dark paranormal romance readers look for. The elements (vampire royalty, hidden powers, a secret inheritance) are familiar genre staples, so the book's success will come down to execution — voice and chemistry on the page — rather than the premise alone.

The storyline of the story is good. It is interesting and does draw you in. I really like Alessandro and his personality. However, Alexa was really hard to connect with. She doesn’t listen and is always acting as if she knows everything even when it is new to her. They were both stubborn and hard headed throughout the story. However, we do start seeing them grow during the story. The story is well written and I am interested in seeing what happens next. It is certainly a story worth reading.

K.C’s debut into the paranormal genre in my opinion is a hit!!!
I really loved the character development and felt like I was on the journey with them.
The romance was a slow burn, but damn did it get hot!!!
This book had a little bit of everything in it, romance, humour, angst, suspense and action.
The ending has left me wanting MORE!!!

An interesting read for me. I loved that the story starts with the love of a father for his unborn child and the mother of his baby. It then goes to current time where the child discovers that she is as special as her aunt has always made her feel. The story is a slow burning ember that ignites into a full fledged fire.

This author has a fantastic ability to craft a story and I find it hard to believe this is her first paranormal! Definitely hope there’s a second book to come.

Ohhh this book had me right from the blurb.... promise to a dying father to protect his child. Talk about a worthy make!!!! Alessandro is that male!!! And Alec is the one who gets to feel that protection and that will to keep her alive at all costs. It’s like fate had a plan for them and this slow burn told that plan perfectly. Truly enjoyable story. Definitely recommend!!!

This isn't my normal type of book I read but a friend said it was good, so I got it. It is a good book the only reason I gave it 3 stars is because it skips around and some parts aren't answered in the book. It is packed with twists, turns and action that keeps you interested and the main characters are amazing. It does end with a HEA and it has an opening for more books if the author decided to make it a series.

Enjoyable

Not my normal genre, I did enjoy. Was a engaging read. With a headstrong h, giving the H a good dose of attitude.
