***Trigger Waring: This book contains a sexual assault situation***
This is my first book by this author. This book had so much drama, and it keep me reading wanting more. I had to get use to the writing style of all the rhyming but actually enjoyed it. Kim is the nice gal, who is relatable in the book. You just feel so sorry for her the entire book. She has been cheated on, had revenge sex, lost custody of her son and everything else of her old life. She was beat and raped and left within inches of her life. After having to rely on her sickly mother, her son also has a brush with a near death experience. The bond and love of a mother and son comes through in this book, and proves that love conquers all.
I won a Kindle version of this book through a Goodreads giveaway.
The style of this novella is poetic verse, which makes for an interesting read. It's not easy to sustain that for over 100 pages, so I applaud the author for doing so. The basic story was terribly upsetting (although the title suggests that in the end something in Kim's life will go her way, one does start to wonder when, exactly, it will occur), but it was interesting. What wasn't interesting was the violence (assault, rape) and crude language & explicit scenes. On a separate note, there were a number of typos and spelling errors.
I won this book as part of a Goodreads giveaway and the following is my honest review.
this was a fast read in an interesting format. hope the spelling/grammatical errors are addressed in a future edition. the drama makes it a fast read, the novella is written as a poem, which makes it interesting.
