Lola— I hate keeping secrets from my father, but I know he’ll be furious if he finds out where I’m going. That’s a risk I’m willing to take because I know what I’m doing is right. I expected my father to send someone to find me. He always does. But this guy? I’ve never lain eyes on him before; trust me, I’d remember this man. He’s damn fine; unfortunately he won’t let me seduce him into keeping my secret.
Memphis— Trouble in a tank top, that’s what this beauty is. She thinks she can sweet-talk me into getting involved in her deception. I may want to get wrapped up in her arms, but getting wrapped up in her scheme is a whole other ball game. Guess again, sweet cheeks. I don’t care how fine your strut is; it won’t work on me. I’m immune where the hot-as-hell Club Princess is involved. My loyalty belongs to my club first, but I’m a nomad for a reason, and letting Lola get her hooks in me is not in my plan.
Nicole James is a USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author who loves writing about hot alpha men who'll do anything for the women they love! Her stories are filled with struggle, conflict and real human emotion. She is the author of the Evil Dead MC series, the Brothers Ink Tattoo series and more.
This is the first time I’ve had the pleasure of reading this author and I can’t believe I have waited so long to read her. There was drama, suspense and action to keep me on the edge of my seat throughout. Lola is the club Princess while Memphis is a nomad with wanderlust but he is willing to settle down for the right woman. Will Lola be that woman? I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for the next book in this thrilling series!!
Started really nice, but around 34% I just lost it. I found it silly. A tad ridiculous and just not for me. I liked that we got a full story and I will confess that I am the hardest critic when it comes to MC stories. This one was not for me.

Loved this book.... Nicole James is a great author so I knew she was going to do justice to the Royal Bastards MC series.
Lola is the club princess but she works for what she wants and she wants a muscle car. Has it all picked out and the down payment ready...or so she thought. It's gone and the only one who could have took it is her druggie brother. When she goes in search for him she finds trouble. Dad doesn't know what is going on except his daughter took off without a word so he sends someone after her.... Memphis. He is a nomad. Has no need or want to stay at one location. All he needs is the open road.
When Memphis has Lola and is on the way back they both feel the instant attraction and decide a one night stand will work out the way they feel. Neither planned on wanting more. But how can they have anything when he can't stay in one place more than a few days and she can't leave her family that needs her . Once Memphis makes up his mind and plans to talk to her is it too late? She has been kidnapped. Can't wait for her next book
Due to language and adult content including drugs is best for adults only
I didn't hate or love this book. It was ok, it has the potential to be a great book. I liked the storyline, but the characters were underdeveloped. It was a quick & easy read. It was way too quick. Very fast paced & it didn't allow the characters to grow & for me to connect with them.
I love all the various RBMC chapters. Because it's a shared world series, we get so many different takes on the guys, all using the same codes and such, just a different feel on each chapter each writer writes from a different viewpoint. Some of the books are dark, dark, dark, some of them are lighter. I think that Nicole James' current entry is toward the lighter end of the pool. That's not to say that it's light, because it's not, I mean, it is an MC book, after all, but it is lighter.
I think that Lola is very stubborn and determined to get what she wants, and tries really hard to get she wants. And she is dealing with her dad and her brother, who are both kind of angry at each other, which I totally understand.
Then we have Memphis, who seems like a good guy, still very much a biker, but a good guy within his own moral code. That may sound weird, but that's how it works. I think that he's a jerk sometimes, and stupid at others, but on balance, he's good.
Good read, good characters, no om, ow, no mean club bunnies, heat🔥, heart💚, drama. Some questions not answered.🙄 but I'm sensing the story line and characters continue so I'll read in order! Free with K.U.✌
This is exactly why Nicole James is pretty much the Queen of the MC books! & I just discovered today that Royal Bastards is a whole lotta books by other authors too & theres even a 2nd run
i wish this could have been longer bc this had so many things i liked about it and could have had such great plot and character development. there needed to be a little bit more tension/build up between Lola and Memphis before they got together bc i didn’t even really see their attraction to each other.
New to me author and so freaking harry I took the chance. Great story! Great characters! Her writing style hooked me right away and never let go. I finished this book in an afternoon and am quickly diving into the next one!
Absolutely amazing read with a sexy, broody, Memphis whose childhood past has him living as a nomad for the club until he meets the feisty, strong Lola. Sparks ignite and burn hot for these two, with non stop action and build made for a non stop read.
This is a very enjoyable read with two characters that are made for each other. I really enjoyed the real raw feel to this story and the ability to feel like I am a part of it. The dynamics are off the chart and I really enjoyed the dialogue and how the author used it to create a wonderful MC story. The steamy scenes are well, steamy and the the romance between these too a pleasure to read. This author really has a handle on MC stories and I always love them. I really enjoyed the entire story, from the major moments to the smallest details. 4.25 stars.
Just an OK book for me. Story wasn’t long enough to get attached to any of the characters. Lola and Memphis. This is the first book from this series that I’ve read. A lot of characters in the club were introduced and I found myself getting confused on who was who. Trez, Lola’s brother, gets Lola into a lot of trouble with his addiction problem and money he owes to crook. Memphis is a nomad that has the job of delivering Lola back to her father in Durango, Colorado. Lola gets caught up with Memphis and he finds that he can’t live without her. Not a re-read for me.
This was more than predictable unfortunately and most definitely not original. It was a super fast read since there wasn't much to it. Glad I didn't have to pay for it! Total waste of time!
There was absolutely no spark between the two main characters. A number of minor grammar issues like not knowing the difference between its and it's. At one point the adult male main character supposedly didn't know what cotton candy was. Bad all around

I have been (im)patiently waiting for this book since I first heard the news that the RBMC were doing a second run and that Nicole James was a participating author! 🙌
I’ve been reading James’ work for a couple years now and she has perfected the formula for amazing romance books — detailed world building, engaging storyline and characters you can’t help but get invested in. Club Princess is no different! I already knew before I even finished the first chapter that I would love where the story was heading… and after having finished it all? It did not disappoint!
The story starts off with a curiosity to both our hero and heroine. It gives you just enough of an introduction to who they are and what their lives are like to keep you gripping to see what happens onwards. With Memphis being a nomad, never settling in one place for too long, or making any commitments. Then there’s Lola, the MC president’s daughter, who has a strained relationship with her family, and an equally complicated life all around. Both Memphis and Lola are missing something in their lives but not realizing it until fate puts them in each other’s lives that changes it all.
Aw Memphis. He is an effortlessly likable character (and MC member). He has an air of alpha-ism in him but it’s never too in your face or full of dominance. What I get more from him is pure protectiveness. He has clear morals and isn’t afraid to stand up for what he knows is right. He’s a pretty open person — there might be some issues that he’s not completely comfortable discussing with anyone but he doesn’t avoid them either. I couldn’t really find a fault in him that’s a deal breaker. He may have his roll-your-eyes moments, but he knows when he needs to make amends. I mean, if you’re looking for a swoon-worthy guy, he’s it! 😉
Lola may be young but she’s had to handle a lot of shit in her life. She’s not at all bratty or immature (which I’m kinda relieved about), and despite the problems in her life, she still tries to give herself some positivity.
Their love is one that was unexpected and developed organically from just getting to know one another. There might not have been initial explosions and fireworks but there was always a constant flicker of heat and sparks between them that although their feelings developed rather quickly, it didn’t come off as unconvincing.
Nicole James has put a lot of substance into this MC romance, adding complexity to her lead characters and their lives. These characters are more than meets the eye and it gradually gets revealed the further the plot thickens.
The secondary characters play such important roles (as in all of James’ books). It gives this romance story an MC atmosphere by having the brotherhood there. Also, there’s a stark contrast between the bikers and and Lola’s girlfriends that provides a great dynamic to this book. The ambience change is evident depending on which group of people are in the scene giving it a cool balance of light and shade.
There’s a lot of sorrow and heartbreak in this story that explains a lot of the characters’ personality traits and their actions to certain things, that you find yourself sympathizing with the entire situation. Put aside the romance, there’s a lot of growth needed within these characters’ lives and within themselves. The added backstories really gives each of them depth and an understanding to where they’re at presently.
A journey full of family, chaos, acceptance, love, and overall growth as a person. It’s a truly sweet story — and one I must admit is one of the more sweeter stories I’ve read in an MC backdrop. 😊
A relatively well paced storytelling told from multiple POVs (both mostly from Memphis and Lola’s perspectives). Although this is part of the Royal Bastards MC world, it can be read as a standalone and I guarantee it’ll leave you sighing with happy contentment.
Another great release from Nicole James. If you’re a fan of her writing style, and/or wanting to read more MC romances, than this is another book to add to your TBR. The chapters are short but action-packed with a smidge of suspense, and the entire book can easily be read in one sitting.
Lola is the daughter of the RBMC – Durango, CO chapter and is trouble with a capital T. She’s angry, lost and looking for attention in all the wrong ways. She doesn’t care if she gets a prospect in trouble, they should be strong enough to tell her no, they should know not to touch the Club Princess.
Memphis is a Nomad in the RBMC. He grew up in the foster system and after he and his twin sister were separated and put in different homes, he searched for her when he got out of the system and they have a relationship again. His sister has a husband and a baby and is happy. Memphis is happy in his freedom and ability to move around at will. One favor for a president changes his life.
Lola and Memphis are brought together when Lola ends up in New Orleans and Memphis is tasked with finding her and taking her home. She’s an adult, but her father is very protective and worries about her. Lola causes more trouble than not when they first meet, but once she realizes that Memphis will protect her reason for leaving, she settles into being his task to take home and things get pretty heated between the two. I loved this story and had a hard time putting the book down, I needed to know what was going to happen next. The danger, suspense and action of the story kept the pages turning quickly. I hated putting it down to go to bed, at 2:00 am. I have not been disappointed by of the RBMC books, they are all page turners and have sexy, protective bikers and strong, sexy women that make these bikers heal very quickly. I give this story a 5-star review and look forward to more of the RBMC books and particularly Ms. James’ Climbing the Ranks: RBMC, Durango, CO Book 2. This was my first book by Nicole James, but I will be reading more of her stories.
Club Princess is the story of Lola, daughter of the President of the Durango chapter of the RBMC and Memphis, a RBMC nomad that comes to her rescue. Lola has been saving money for years to save up for a GTO, but when she goes to transfer the money she realizes her brother has drained her account. Lola decides to take off to New Orleans to locate her brother, get her money back, but most importantly, to see what kind of trouble her brother's gotten into. Lola's dad realizes where she is and sends a nomad (Memphis) that's in the area to find her and drag her @ss back home. Memphis quickly figures out what is supposed to be a straight forward task is turning into a series of escapades involving the beautiful club princess, some high rolling thugs, and a bank robbery. What Memphis ends up dealing with are his developing feelings for Lola and whether the nomad life is sill for him.
Club Princess is an insta-lust turned insta-love standalone in the RBMC series of books. It is the first one in the Durango chapter by Nicole James.
I decided to read this book for a couple of reasons. Firstly, anything by Nicole James is one-click read for me - she always writes great books that are a quick, easy read. Secondly, she always creates interesting, sassy heroines. Club Princess was certainly no exception and does not disappoint! The book is definitely smokin' hot 🔥🔥🔥and Memphis is swoon worthy. I really enjoyed the back story for both characters and liked seeing Memphis overcome past by realizing that he wasn't an island unto himself and that letting someone in could better his life and not hurt him.
Looking forward to the next book in this RBMC chapter!
Lola likes to push buttons. She has a brother that’s trouble. The author did such a good job with that character that I had to wonder if it was pure imagination, personal knowledge, or research. Memphis is a man that likes being a loner. You won’t know why until he opens his heart. Our author takes us on an adventure and it was interesting to see where it led.
Loved the action that was added into the storyline. Being a story about an MC it really shouldn’t surprise me but I was left with a wish. I had come to wish that this story came with a video of the story – love me some action.
Our author is very good at creating a scene that lets off plenty of heat. It’s not one that was placed there because she had to. It fit in perfectly because it was based on what came before and after. Once the heat started there wasn’t anything that could put it out. Something else she was good at was giving a voice to Lola’s family members. She gave them just enough so you knew who they were and how important they were to the story. It was just enough without them overtaking anything and getting the reader sidetracked from the important stuff.
The ending came on rather quickly but that’s just because I didn’t want this adventure to end. The only thing I will tell you is that it will put a smile on your face and possibly bring a tear or two, or three, to your face – having a tissue nearby may come in handy. I can’t wait to see what this author may have up her sleeve for her next book.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
This is going to be another great chapter in the Royal Bastards MC Series. The author has given us a well written storyline with characters that are going to make for one amazing series to come, at least in my humble opinion. This is book 1 of the RBMC, Durango, Colorado Chapter. In it we meet the brothers and learn about the club and their latest “business”. Great foundation for the series.
As the title reads, book 1 is about the club princess, Lola. While she loves having grown up in the club, as a grown woman she needs her space, something her father has an issue with. So when she sneaks off in the middle of the night, to find her brother, her father calls in a favor to track her down. He calls Memphis, a nomad with the RBMC to find her and bring her back. Memphis is a loner and likes it that way. His past has jaded him from forming any type of attachments or staying in any one place. When these two meet, sparks fly and not necessarily in a good way. Her brother has gotten her in a predicament that causes Memphis to grab her up and haul but. But what happens when trouble follows? Can Memphis get her home safely? Can these two lost souls find any kind of personal peace while in each other’s company?
Excellent storyline and fabulous characters. Kudos Ms. James for a great read and I look forward to more from the brothers in the Durango RBMC.
Lola is the daughter of the Prez of the Durango RB chapter and she meets Memphis when he is commissioned to bring her back home after she left to find her brother in NOLA. Her brother has stolen all her savings and he’s in trouble, but before she can get him out of it, Memphis takes her home. During the road trip they end up sleeping together and sharing memories and beautiful moments, but Memphis makes it clear from the beginning that he is a nomad and that he is not going to change. What begins as a fling soon evolves into something deeper for both of them.
“Every warning bell in my head is going off right now, telling me you’re probably more trouble than I need, girl. Probably gonna steal my heart, too, if I let you. But I really want you; warning bells be damned.”He brushes my hair back from my forehead, staring into my gaze. “I see it in your eyes. Don’t go getting attached, girl. I never stay in one place for long.” “I won’t.” “I just want to be up front with you.” “No expectations. I’ve got it.” “Doesn’t mean I won’t come back around. Doesn’t mean we won’t see each other again. We will. I guarantee it.” “No. We made a deal. No guarantees, no promises, no expectations. Just now, just this moment.” He grins at my reply. “Damn. It’s like you were made for me.”

Club Princess is the newest book to join the Royal Bastards MC series. I was already a fan of Nicole James’ Evil Dead MC Series, so I was looking forward to seeing her addition into this world.
When I began reading, I was unsure if I was going to like Lola because I thought she was going to be a brat that was determined to undermine her father. While she was not totally doing what her father wanted, I loved that she was independent and did not depend on the club. I felt bad for her because she was stuck in the middle of her family. She refused to give up on her brother even though her father had. If my brother stole that much money from me, I probably would have gone after him too. It is not easy dealing with a family member with an addiction....
Lola and Memphis were quite the pair. He's a Nomad and she's the Club Princess who has strayed from home and it's his job to bring her back. Their chemistry was instant, but he is so stuck on not being tied down, that he almost loses the best thing to happen to him. Their story was on the short side, but it did give enough of a vibe of both of their personalities to be believable. Although Lola was definitely immature at points, she did have a lot on her plate. Her brother was a bit of a wild card and I wasn't quite sure why she never let her dad in on how bad her brother was. I gave Memphis credit for realizing that he was going to need to get over his hang-ups if he was going to go after what he wanted. The ending was a bit too generic and I'm unsure if it's because Nicole didn't want to get boxed into a timeline, or if it was something else. Definitely did like this book of hers though.
This book is part of the Royal Bastards MC collection. It is the first book for this chapter. Memphis is contacted to bring back Lola to her father the Prez of his chapter. Memphis is a nomad and comes and goes. Lola left home to go after her brother who has found himself in trouble once again. She knew her dad would flip out if she told him. Now she has to deal with her brother’s issues and Memphis. Memphis manages to get Lola home but they have begun to fall for each other. Memphis is a wonderer and thinks its better that way. What does he have to offer Lola anyway? What will happen when he can’t seem to stay away? Then Lola is taken because of her brother’s actions. Will this make Memphis realize he needs Lola in his life? I loved this book. It was action, danger, romance, and heat. I felt for Lola. Heartache every time Memphis leaves her. I look forward to reading more books about this chapter and these characters. Great job Nicole.
Ok, I'm not sure how this review is going to go, so bare with me. I started to like it, but then in the next second, things changed. It was more than just the simple phrase as "0 to 60". They both agree it wasn't going to turn into anything. Then she talks about having feelings?! How? Where was the go sign? Seems like a lot of things were just left or forgotten. Her friends don't care that they hadn't heard from her? The cops never found the money that he stole from either bank? Was Lockwood at the cabin? Then, in the epilogue, since when does he notice her clothes? It was just a strange & very random fact just thrown in. So I'm really not sure if I'd recommend it or not because mostly the story seemed to just jump in one drama after another. The best I could say is it's not a terrible read but probably one you won't remember. I went continue on with the series. I know that sounds harsh & I'm sorry, but it is what it is. On to the next!
OK so I was about ready to scream at the start of this as Lola seemed so immature. Nicole James was amazing though at building a picture of how the characters were and why so of course I couldn't put it down.
Lola runs off to find her trouble making brother and her father the president of the Durango Chapter asks nomad Memphis to bring her back home.
Memphis seemed like such a great guy and stuck up for those who couldn't stand up for themselves. He did have his issues with women and settling down however but the pair of them together was explosive.
This was a great quick read for me and would highly recommend to other MC Romance readers. I really am dying for more from this chapter as Nicole has done such an amazing job when writing this, I just need more!
