Pass It On: What We Know... What We Want You To Know

Rate this book
For his first book, Chief Billy Goldfeder, a 40-year fire service veteran, solicited insights and pearls of wisdom from our country's greatest firefighters, fire officers and emergency responders. The stories that make up this unprecedented collection share many perspectives of the emergency service experience and offer invaluable, often hard-won, lessons learned. Every firefighter, from probie to veteran, can find something to take away from these factual, real-life, first-hand stories, which offer a range of emotions—from wit to heartache and basic common sense. Chief Goldfeder is donating 100% of his royalties equally to the Chief Ray Downey Scholarship and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Every contributor fully supported the benevolent mission of this book. • Introductions by Billy Goldfeder to each chapter • Chapters written by a very diverse group of more than 80 well-known fire service veterans • Experiences of some of the best names in the fire service that most of us would not have the opportunity to learn from directly by Billy Goldfeder and Friends 456 Pages/Softcover/6x9/2014 ISBN10 1-59370-319-8

Great book full of great advice for active and aspiring firefighters. An industry book for sure. Not sure how interesting it would be for someone outside of the fire or EMS service, but for those within, it is a must read. I really enjoyed the Wheelbarrow analogy and I now use that advice on a daily basis. You'll have to read the book to understand the message on the wheelbarrow. Not much else to say. Wise contributors to this book. It is a collection of short advice essays from some of the powerhouses of the fire departments around the United States.

Fantastic book, lots of leadership stuff in here. Looking for a breath of fresh air to bring some motivation back to your fire career? This book is it. Great all the way through, I can't wait to read this 2nd version. Also the profits from this book are split between NFFF and Ray Downey scholarship fund, 2 great causes.

This book should be a "must-read" for anyone in the fire service. The lessons taught are important and, applied correctly, could save your life. The fact that all of the lessons are coming from those with experience should tell you something - that these are the lessons that matter. Highly recommended.
