This series of short booklets address the answer to an old question in a new way. What was the cause or causes behind the secession of numerous Southern States in 1860 and 1861 and what was the cause or causes of the war that followed?

How do we approach this in such a different way? Simple. We endeavor to allow history to speak for itself. Rather than seeking to learn the history of an event than happened more than 150 years ago by an "expert" born many decades after the fact, we will look almost entirely at documents from the actual period in question.

If you think you know something about the answer to these questions, regardless of which way you tend to lean, you will not walk away from this series and ever think the same way again. What we call history today has drifted so far from the actual events of the period, the delusion is barely recognizable.
