Examines Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder from teen girls' perspectives with suggestions on how to cope with emotions, treatments, school, and friends.
The Girls' Guide To AD/HD: Don't Lose This Book! is an empowering, relatable, and refreshingly honest guide made especially for girls navigating life with ADHD. From the very first page, it speaks to girls, not about them, using a friendly, encouraging tone that feels more like advice from someone who truly gets it than a clinical handbook. What makes this book stand out is how practical and validating it is. It explains ADHD in clear, simple language while tackling real-life challenges like school, friendships, emotions, self-esteem, and organization. Instead of focusing on “what’s wrong,” the book highlights strengths, creativity, and resilience, helping girls understand that ADHD is part of who they are not a flaw.
This book came out when I was 20, it was cute but it would have been so much better to have read it when I was younger.
I strongly recommend girl/women specific books for females with ADD and ADHD because it is SOOO much different for us, and we are so misunderstood and under-diagnosed.
If you want to know what it's like in your ADHD girl's head I suggests parents read this. And if you can get your ADHD girl to read this she will be able to see herself in this book. if you have an ADHD girl you must read this
