It could have been better if it had been more consistent. I felt like there were books missing from between books.

This is so out of my normal genre of my typical who done it murder mystery. I laughed a lot at the silly antics which included a magical cat, a frog that talks to the keeper of artifacts, and a sprite that prefers to live in her human form. All of that comic relief along with a mystery that keeps you guessing until the end is hard to beat.

This is a really fun set of books.
Although it has a decent mystery built into each one.
These should really be classified under the fantasy category.

Book 1) Unbaked Croakies (Enchanting Inquiries #0)
This was a fun story with quirky characters including
Naida Griffith: A sorceress who just learned that she's a witch, and attracts trouble with a capital T.
Alice: The Keeper of Artifacts (magical). It's her job to keep artifacts safe from being misused, and
also to train Naida as her apprentice.
Leandra Coleman: A Earth witch and tea master. Also, the first friend Naida makes.
Sebille: Daughter of the Queen of the Fae, also wants to feel needed.
Detective Grym: Part of the magical police force who finds Naida's talents lacking.

This is a fun story with developed characters, and a good bit of humor from the mind of an author who makes sure you will not see what's coming next.

Book 2) Tea & Croakies (Enchanting Inquiries #1)
Naida Griffith is the Keeper of Antiquities. It's her job to keep artifacts safe.
When she wakes up with a headache, she knows she has another assignment.
If she had known the assignment would pit her against the evilest family in witchdom?

She would have been looking for a reset button.

A fun story with developed characters and a good bit of humor.)

Book 3) Fortune Croakies (Enchanting Inquiries #2)
There appears to be trouble in the universe.
Keeper Naida is getting orders for artifacts that aren't really necessary, and not getting the notices for the dangerous ones.

In order to make things right, Naida calls on PTB Madeline to help.
She winds up crossing dimensions, and facing a dragon.

She also is dealing with a cat who may be more powerful than she is, and a frog that's hoping to not be a frog for much longer.

We also learn how Croakies got its name.

Love this series ! ! ! It follows Naida Griffith, magical librarian, book storekeeper and newly KOA (Keeper of Artifacts - of the magical kind) ! She was supposed to have been trained by Alice Parker, former KOA, but Alice threw her into the job without any real or knowledgeable help! She interned with Alice, but mostly did inventory and other grunt work. As KOA she is not only responsible for storing artifacts, but also for finding and corralling them. There are those that come willingly and others that have to be 'acquired'. They have all kinds of conditions attached to them, each like people with quirky personalities!

She is living and working in a magical world now, but was brought up in a nonmagical world. At 18 she realized that the strange things happening were magical (objects were attracted to her and started following her around), and she didn't know where to turn when this job turned up! On her first assignment she literally gets beat up by the pair of missing shoes that she is looking for. In her ignorance she still has great instincts and potential and helps solve the murder of the man in the park, the mystery of the suitcase and gets the wayward shoes!

She does great at attracting magical artifacts, but is in dire need of working on her defensive tactics; she takes a lot of lickings, while fighting witches and evil-doers. She is trying to retrieve a tea maker that sucks the life from people and if it wasn't for the friends she makes along the way... well she'd be crispy toast! She does acquire the pick of a magical litter, Mr Wicked, who she rescued from the evil witch family, Quilleran; a slimy frog, who turns out to have a male witch stuffed inside of him, Rustin, one of the Quilleran's that found himself on the wrong side of this family (means that he didn't want to be evil) and lots of headaches (that's how she knows she has an object to wrangle), murders and troubles!

As her journey continues Naida is being given orders for non-dangerous artifacts, she's not getting orders for dangerous artifacts -- what is going on in the universe! She is still learning on the job and is in over her head and has to get help from PTB, the Powers That Be, super witch, Madeline Quilleran; is she helping her or working her own agenda ??? There's greed and gold coins, dragons, gargoyles, dimension crossing and worse yet, stink bugs! What's a girl gotta do to have a decent day and time to work on her magical abilities?

This is definitely a cozy paranormal mystery that'll draw you in and tickle your humor! ! !

At first it appears this may be condensed stories from original but that is not the case. I believe the page differences are due to the reduction of dedications, list of previous books and other administrative concerns. The series has been renumbered with the recently published prequel as number 1.
I found it well-written, fun, and easy read. Ms. Cheever’s humor and imagination are amazing.

I’m glad I started with this one first. We learn of Naida’s predicament, how she came to Croakies, that she eventually finds out she is a sorceress, and that in the beginning she isn’t convinced she has much magical power if any.
The prequel let us know that the training Naida is promised never really materializes. She has to feel her way to acquire skills. Luckily, she becomes friends with Lea, Sebille and a few others that can assist her as she acquires skills,

Each book has an artifact that must be retrieved and then stored at Croakies in the vault. Naida will become the Keeper of Artifacts. Her job entails keeping dangerous magical objects safe and out of the hands of the paranormal (in this series - supernormal) and normal community.
In book 1, the story concerns a mysterious suitcase, a compact body, a stranger stealing an artifact. This all happens her first day in training, and Naida has only been at Croakies for a day. Alice has other things on her mind and training is at the top of her list.
Maude Quilleran gives Naida a cat as payment for a job Naida does for her. This cat, Mr Wicked, becomes Naida’s familiar.

In book 2, we learn of Mr. Slimy and his need for help.
In book 3, Naida has another action packed artifact retrieval. Beginning with no retrieval order.

Read these and be entertained and amazed as the stories unfold.

A fun cozy collection.
I love this fun cozy collection each book is a splendid read. Book 1 “Unbaked Croakies” This one was new for me the other two books I have read and loved. The characters that the author introduced in book one were splendid this was a fun story. “Tea & Croakies” A different witch story. How is a keeper of artifacts with limited magic ability protecting artifacts? I loved the characters and the flow of the story. It was hard to put it down I mean what is the cat and frog going to do? The author has a wonderful imagination just the names of the characters were a hoot. I love the book and highly recommend this mystery. “ Fortune Croakies” Who is the black dragon? In this cozy, it will take all hands on deck to catch the villain and what a wonderful journey Sam Cheever has taken the reader on. Fate or the universe is really up to its old tricks in story. This book was so interesting, engaging, and so much fun to read. Surprises await the reader at every turn in this one. My favorite character well characters are one frog and one cat loved those critters. This is a great cozy to pick up I loved it. The author has a wonderful way of bringing the people and places to life these books are witchy wonderful. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

What did I like or not like about this reading?

Well, it is an interesting reading; in that it is different from what I had been reading these previous weeks, and yet the theme with a cat and a person named Alice serving lots of teas follows some of my other readings and perhaps why I chose to tackle this e-book read that I’d recently purchased.

We have Alice who is the owner of Keeper of Artifacts and she hires Naida Griffith as her apprentice; seeing that she has potential but is not fully trainable at the time. When Alice asks why she should hire Naida as an apprentice for Keeper of Artifacts; Naida explains that “it wasn’t a career choice but a legacy and that keepers were born to wrangle artifacts…this makes me think of Van Helsing’s need to track down Dracula…another’s legacy.

Anyhow, there’s a cat named Fenwald that’s in residence of Croakies’ Keepers of Artifacts…a bookshop amongst other things. So, Naida is hired and her first task is to catalog the artifacts…she felt curiously competent when dealing with them; as if she’d been meant to work with them all along.

There’s danger and intrigue for Naida in her new job and she is thankful for it...this new life as a magical artifact wrangler.

ENCHANTING INQUIRIES BOOKS 1-3, by Sam Cheever are defintely Enchanting and full of fun and action. The author's vivid descriptions of people, places and the unexplainable will have you ducking flying artifacts right alongside our heroine.

Naida is the new Keeper of (magical) Artifacts. Her job as KoA is to keep these dangerous magical objects safe and out of the hands of the supernormal and normal community.

"Hippopotamus in a Humvee"  What more can I say.  It's only Naida's first day on the job and she's already had to deal with a mysterious suitcase, a compacted body, and a stranger stealing an artifact. If that's her first day on the job, what could the second and third days bring that could be worse?  Read on and find out.

Get ready as Nadia and her friends, Sebille her sprite friend, Wicked her magical kitten, and Slimy her enchanted frog, along with all her other magical friends try to help Naida stay alive long enough to learn her job as KoA.

I did receive an advance copy from the author.  Definitely a five-star fun read.

interesting

This one had me captivated. It did two things that I consider to be a major plus…
1. It wasn’t super repetitive. Some books I read keep explaining the same concept repeatedly as if they don’t think readers are capable of remembering. I find it frustrating and boring to try to get through books that do this. Which brings me to the second point.
2. If I skipped a sentence I got lost. I’ve read many books where I can skim the pages and get the gist of the story without feeling like I missed anything. Every time I caught myself skimming it was because I was so confused that I didn’t know what was going on. I had to back up and read each word. Somehow Sam strikes a balance between telling a fascinating story without being overly verbose. A huge positive from my perspective.

Adorable cozy witchy fun

Loved this cheeky little book! Cute story, cute cats and cuter potential love interest! I’m a pure sucker for anything with magic, bookshops and cats! It gives strong Warehouse 13 vibes, which was pleasing and the pacing was spot on. The ending felt slightly rushed, but hey ho.
Looking forward to reading the next books n the series ~ definitely a good remedy if you’re in a reading slump and want to pick up something short and fun!
The only annoying thing is the substitute swear words the character uses (minced oaths). I do prefer my books without pointless swearing, but these became evermore elaborate as the book progressed (no doubt to emphasis how quirky the MC is).
Anyway, I definitely recommend this lighthearted cozy mystery, it’s one of the better ones out there.
Did I mention it has cats??

Naida is a witch with only little power, but she seems clumsy, as all kinds of objects attach themselves to her without any obvious reason. When she is asked to become the Keeper of Magical Objects in training, she agrees, as it seems to be a good offer. What she had not expected that she was the de facto keeper from day one - without training, as the actual keeper becomes MIA.
Untrained, with a group of new friends, she starts to figure out what to do when magical objects go rogue or had actually been created to wreak havoc.
The stories are crazily wonderful, highly entertaining and the characters of Naida and her friends are so well described, that I had the feeling I made new friends.

A Funnier Take on the Witch Cozies

If you like crazy catastrophe's and even tragic Teas, you'll enjoy this light hearted mystery in Enchanted. Where there's always some new mystery that pop ups with increasing impossibilities and a brand new keeper, who is the sorcerer that calls or gets calls from the universes about dangerous artifacts that she with no training, and that's all a mystery that I can't wait to get solved, then you'll love these mysteries with every type of crazy magic character and artifacts that are let lose from somewhere by the oldest and most concerned or corrupt group to send the keeper new found artifacts to put in her safe for Weird artifacts from tea holders to a version of Herbie the love bug from the 1960's. Enjoy!

Naida, the Keeper of Artifacts, doesn't seem to get much time to actually develop her skills as a Keeper since her way-too-short apprenticeship. She barely has time to recover from one incident before the next unfolds. The paranormals don't seem inclined to cut her much slack either. This set of three reads has it all except the kitchen sink - fairies, gargoyles, witches, inter dimensional travel and some nasty magical artifacts. And the Powers That Be might just be corrupt!
These are a fun, fantastical read.

Crazy Fun Paranormal Series
This is a crazy fun paranormal series that has more creatures and magic than you can imagine. The series centers around a new magic keeper. The former magic keeper barely trainer her, so many mistakes happen. She is supposed to store magic artifacts sin a safe library, but stuff always happens. This is a wonderful series that will keep a smile on the reader's face while huge adventures begin. I received this ARC book for free from Booksprouts and this is my honest review.

4.5 stars for this enchanting set of books, I loved them never read anything from Sam Cheever but that will be changing, each book designed to draw you in encase you in it’s pages and leave you thoroughly spell bound. Who knew magical flying artifacts and a newbie keeper of said artifacts could be so much fun. Each story flows beautifully and has wonderful characters that ensnare and enchant you.

This is the 4th time I've read books written by Sam Cheever; he has done a great job at writing a good collection of books; I will definitely be reading more of his books.

The story lines caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I loved the characters.

This series is fun and absolutely enjoyable. I read Part 1 of Enchanting Inquiries out of order, some time after 2 and 3. I read them again for this boxset and my opinion hasn’t changed. The characters are just as hilarious, the writing as fresh, and I even picked up a few nuances I missed the first time I read them.

Each book has a mystery about a magical artifact. Naida, the new Keeper of the Artifacts never received proper training so her job is a trial by fire. Along on her journey are her cat, numerous magical friends, various villains, frogs, giants and dragons. Come along on Naida's journey as she tries to corral these artifacts. I found the stories enjoyable enough to binge read them. I own each book separately so I did not buy the set!

Running a bookstore and a storehouse of magical artifacts shouldn't be a difficult job but Naida, Keeper of Artifacts, isn't the best at magic or staying out of trouble. Lucky for her she has friends who are much better at magic and willing and able to help when needed. Even better, her cat helps in his own way without being asked and often bringing along a frog companion. This mix of fun characters makes for enjoyable adventures and entertaining books with plenty of humor.

Cute and funny

Nadia becomes the Keeper of Artifacts. This may seem simple, but her life becomes filled with interesting new friends of all magical types, strange happenings as she must get artifacts and put them in safe keeping, and crazy animal encounters. The author has a fun way of getting around bad language, which made me smile and even laugh out loud a few times. Good stories and interesting characters make these books well worth the read.

I got magic

Cute tale about a young woman who hadn't been trained to use her magic. After her grandmother died, grandma didn't want anything to do with magic, she gets the offer of a lifetime. A keeper in training, working at croakies, a bookstore for non-magical people and the keeper of magical artifacts. There's a lot to learn, the old keeper keeps throwing her in the deep end. She best learn fast.

Very fun!

I enjoyed this book very much. It's whimsical and adorable while proving Murphy's Law very much exists in Enchanted. Nadia is easy to love as she bumbles her way through crisis after crisis in her first week of her new job. Her heart and integrity lead her to do the right thing, even when she has NO idea how. I look forward to seeing what trouble Mr. wicked helps her get into, and whether or not Fenny "trains" him with same method Alice used... o.O

a lite bit of fun

Enjoyable, funny, interesting peoples and places and magical or super human peoples. Lots of cases to solve with all the help needed and more. Clean.
With no background to the first story at all, I found I was reading the background to the main character all through these three books, difficult to work out what was going on and who was who, until getting the info in drinks and drabs throughout the books.

I have read all of these books when they first came out. The characters and the things that happen to them, some of it due to their own fault, some not are a delight to read. There are fairies, dragons, shapeshifters, a great cast of characters that work together, sometimes not very happy to fix things in their community.
