As the youngest member of an elite task force team and built as big as they come, Danny is often underestimated. It’s an image he encourages, despite sporting a genius level IQ. Currently screwing his boss’ ex and with a big problem for authority, Danny is sent to professional development coaching. He hates the idea – he’s got determination in spades to do what it takes in his job and personal life, and thrashes against it until he meets Laura, the sexy motivator who shows him he is worth more than what he believes.
When the team begins working Operation Predator, Danny’s moment of peace is shot to hell.
Danny is sent to professional coaching as part of his boss, Cal’s, efforts to hold the team together after their last operation. When he discovers his motivator is the gorgeous jogger he’s been working out with, Danny is determined to flirt his way through his coaching, stubbornly refusing to delve into personal truths he’s been hiding from himself for years. He's relieved when he’s placed on an undercover assignment – his preferred area of expertise.
Moving in with a group of gym junkies isn’t a bad way to spend assignment – especially when he gets to hack as well. The group remove small change from banks, but Danny feels there is something bigger in the works – until he is spotted by Laura, who almost blows his cover. Pulled from his assignment, Danny is furious. Tensions rise during their coaching sessions as more odd hacks catch Danny’s attention.
Their budding relationship is blown to pieces when he opts to go back undercover, determined not to let Laura distract him.

Blindsided is the second full book in the Blue Blooded Brothers. With an IQ very few can match Danny is single, carefree and the youngest member of the team. With Logan still calling the shots, his undercover work is under threat and Cal sending him to professional development training Danny’s world is about to be challenged.
An engaging story with great character dynamics and interaction. I enjoyed Blindsided and would recommend you grab this book and series.
These Blue Blooded Brothers books are so exciting! I love following along with the precinct and the guys as they chase Logan's trail and fall in love during that process, despite all of the danger and craziness happening. I also like seeing how each of the books has a case that is linked in some way to the main larger case they were originally trying to crack, although this one wasn't as obvious until further into the book.
The characters in this series are easy to fall for, even if they seem unlikable at first or even in previous books. Each character is so different and seeing their point of view makes this series even better. Danny played a smaller part in Cal's book and I'm glad it was his turn to be in the spotlight. And that it wasn't with Mandy because she's completely insane. Too bad it took him a few months to figure that out completely. His relationship with Laura was so much healthier for him because she was able to break him down and see the foundation of the person he really was, when he wasn't hiding behind the mask he always wore after participating in so many undercover missions. Although their relationship was a little taboo, it made it that much more exciting. But I guess the Blue Blood family has a thing for taboo relationships (Cal with Mila, a witness of a bank robbery). What I'm really excited for is Micah's story. He's a pretty interesting guy and I can't wait to see how his book goes. Maybe some sparks with Jimmy??
The second book of the Blue Blooded Brothers series by Sofia Aves, focuses on one of the most easygoing characters, Danny, the rebel of the team; this book was so different from the first one, where we meet Cal and his confidence at life, Danny is completely opposite on his way of living, there’s nothing that grounds him or gives some kind of home.
As the youngest team member of an elite task force, Danny is sent to professional development coaching; he needs to be a part of the team and set his head straight, but working undercover is his favorite area in the entire operation.
The problem with a certain way of living and faking another is that sometimes he doesn’t know where one ends and the other begins. How can Danny be sure of his choice if there’s no stability in his personal life…until Laura.
Laura is a successful independent coach; she helps people find the true meaning of their lives and helps them build that new life. Trying to help Danny is not easy, the sexy cop is making coaching really difficult and she’s not sure he will find his true worth.
An easy reading, a great story and glimpses of the previous book, I really liked Danny and Laura’s story!!
This one was quite interesting. So we have Danny who is a cop and just happens to be one heck of a hacker and undercover agent. However, his boss sends him to see someone to help him with his path. Danny seems to be with a mindset that he is capable of doing both jobs and still be fine. Little does he know that his bosses are trying to help him succeed and be a better cop. So he meets Laura who will be handling his professional development. Little do they both know what is in store for them. Can Laura help him achieve a professional goal? What do they both learn about each other? What will happen once Danny goes back undercover? One thing happened that threw me for a loop but I can't tell you because you will need to read the book to find out. We do get a happily ever after? I cannot wait to see who is next in this series.
Oh, Danny boy. The sexy youngster of the team with a huge chip on his shoulder. I don't think anyone else could do this character the justice he deserves. Sofia Aves has converted me from a hard no to romantic suspense books to, OMG I need more. I can't even put into words how well written this book is. The character building is some of the best I've seen within the writing world. You can't help but want to dig deeper into each character and pull out their truths. Amazing job on this book. I look forward to the next.
Blindsided by something he thought he wasn’t missing until....
If you liked Collision you won’t be disappointed with Blindsided. Danny the odd man out (?) tries to find where he fits in. He lives in reality as well as undercover trying to make sense of the two and not get sucked into either world. He’s then introduced to Laura to help him find out what he wants, where he fits. His journey takes many twists and turns and keeps you riveted throughout. I hope to see books on the other characters of the team. I have become a fan of Sofia’s and can’t wait for her next book!
So I found this to be a slightly easier book to read than the first one, enough for me to invest in the third book anyway, since I'm now really wanting to have all the characters get their hea. Still a complex read and some repetitive aspects but at least Danny came out of this one a bit more mature and used his instincts in a better way. Still feel the professional side of things isn't quite there not just with Danny and Laura but also this under cover business, which it was mentioned as being a two year only side of police work. Danny has been with the team five years and has had several under cover missions lasting some time, enough that it is affecting him and people have noticed, so why is he then sent back under cover? Consistency! It has to be answered, explained and executed. There were some interesting twists and I think other books also tie into those even though not indirectly in this series. I do feel the author was much more fluent with this so it made for a better read over all and showed improvement in her writing skills so I am going to support that and her characters by reading the next book. Started 5/8/21 Finished 7/8/21
I had a real hard time following this story. One minute the MC is on the outs with his boss, and then in the next he's leading an undercover operation despite having walked out of his mandatory training. The characters and the minute by minute action seemed all out of wack. One minute sitting, and then with no follow-thru they're standing or in each other's arms, or in different rooms even. One minute Danny is talking on the phone with Marcus, and then it's Cal that hangs up. Or Micah is in his bedroom after inviting guests over and doesn't come out to engage with them? It all just seemed off.
This next instalment in Sofia Aves’ police romance series is another fun, intense read. I particularly enjoyed how the author focused on the psychological impact of undercover work in the police force. It was very well presented and provided quite some food for thought.
I did feel more could have been done with Lauren’s sister Belinda. This character pretty much only served as a plot device to get the main characters into certain situations, but could have been fleshed out much more to encompass how society views drug addicts, and where alternative approaches might be more helpful.
Another fantastic contribution to this suspense-filled series by the talented Ms. Aves. The interaction between the characters is gritty and, in the case of the hero and heroine, emotions run high at times. All in all a great story that grabs your attention from the beginning, keeping you engrossed until the final word. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a great romantic suspense.
The second book in the Blue Blooded series and I liked it a lot! The story is well written and very interesting characters! I recommend to read this series in order just because they are very good and you get a better feeling for the characters. Although it’s perfectly readable as a standalone. I received this arc from the author and this review is my honest opinion.
A different kind of hero, as part of a task force Danny falls hard for his therapist. But he messes up going back undercover against her wishes. Conflicting emotions war and distract him. Can he hope to have any future with this amazing woman..? Another great story in this series.
I really enjoyed Dannys story. He is a big kid in some ways and has no clear path. In this book he meets his match. She turns his world on end and makes him evaluate his life and his future. This book wasn't as action packed as the last one, a slower pace all the way around. But it was still very good and I liked being able to still see the characters from book one as well.
A very slow, long-winded, angst-filled romantic suspense. The romance was slow, even for a slow-burn romance due to the complicated boundaries of a professional relationship. The suspense plot was not that intriguing and full of twists that weren’t that interesting. I skimmed most of the book, especially the last 20%. Just Okay, nothing special.
I absolutely loved this book! The drama and suspense was perfect. I loved the humor added in there as well as those hot love scenes! Definitely recommend this book
Danny is definitely the Alpha type, with an attitude towards authority but still fiercely loyal and protective of those he cares about. At a crossroads in his career, he needs to decide if he will continue with undercover work or specialise in another field.
Laura was hired to be his professional development coach and sparks fly as soon as they meet. From the beginning you see how strong, confident and thoughtful she is and as the story develops so do her feelings for Danny. She’s genuine and you can see how much she cares about him.
I loved their chemistry and it became more intense as they tried to suppress their feelings and keep it professional while working together. With his work commitments and needing to deal with the effects of having done so much undercover work, it wasn’t as easy for them to just be together.
I enjoyed the action and suspense in this story and the depth given to the main characters as they worked through their issues. I loved the steamy romance in this story too! Not knowing how these two would make it work and finally be together or how his latest undercover case would play out kept me reading until the end.
I loved this story, after reading Collision (Book 1) I really wanted to know Danny's story. You don't have to have read book 1 but it will help. Danny was a great character, likeable, cheeky but desperately needing focus in both his personal and professional life. Laura was likeable, she leads a simple lifestyle but is focused on her career. Her job totally confused me throughout the book. She was brought in to deliver Professional Development training and this translated to a counsellor/psychiatrist/motivational support. It was great to see the will they, won't they relationship forming, especially with all the outside influences. The other characters are also really interesting and help with the overall police storyline which I hope will continue into book 3. I'd love to see more of Black and Micah in future books.
Danny's story leaves off where collision ended, it was slightly predictable from the beginning but still held some surprises. The relationship with Laura moved well, was cute, and kept me interested. The new assignment Danny is working on also moves well, is believable, and easy to keep up with. Danny's side assignment from Cal is also interesting to read. And Danny ends up showing a lot of growth thru out the book within the relationship with Laura as well as his relationships/workings with the team. It was a quick read but kept me interested and im excited to see who is up next in book three from the team.
I’m really loving the Blue Blooded Brothers series!
I love how each story is entwined with the next. This is the story of Danny and Laura which picked up where Collision left off.
I didn’t think Danny would be next in line to fall in love because he had a temper out of this world and he didn’t know how to leave the undercover life alone.
Laura saw the good in him that he couldn’t see within himself. There were times that I thought she would give up on him because he was more than a hand full but together, they made it through.
Their story is packed with action, lies, a steamy whirlwind romance and more. I can’t wait to see where the rest of the series takes us!
The second book in the Blue Blooded Brothers Series. This is the story of Danny the sexy youngster of the team and Laura the Independent and successful life coach/mediator/councillor/etc...... The will they, won't they with everything that gets thrown at them keeps you glued to the page.
This book is so easy to get into and it read really well with the story flowing at a great pace. The characters drew me in and held me there wanting to draw out all their deepest secrets.
If you want edge of your seat suspense and a heart fluttering romance weaved in... you NEED to read this book! Book 2 of the Blue Blooded Brothers Series and its intense! Sofia is a master at keeping you intrigued with every page turn and I for one found it hard to stop reading to cook dinner and socialise with the family! I lost count of how many times I bit my tongue and muttered 'oh my god.' Just a must read! I can't stress this enough :)
Another great book to the series! This is Danny and Laura's story. The author does a fantastic job building the suspense and had me glued to the pages. Her characters and scenes are described perfectly and the story flows fluidly. I loved this book and would highly recommend reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I gotta say, this book was everything and nothing like I expected. I could not put it down once I started it and did not want it to end when I got there.
An emotionally charged story-line that grabs you right from the start, keeping you engrossed throughout.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Great Book. Danny has brains and brawn! I’ve never read an undercover book with such depth. The chemistry between Danny and Laura is off the charts. The guys in the story were true to their nature i.e., cars, trucks, body building, clubbing, skinny dipping, fear facing challenges. This book had me hooked from the beginning and I didn’t want to put it down.
This is book 2 in the Blue Blooded Brothers series. I hadn't read a series or book like this. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Danny and Laura . The story line was amazing and not was I was excepting this book had me from the first page. Looking forward to reading book 3 in this series. Thank you Sofia for letting me review your books, you are an amazing writer.
Not my regular genre but agreed to read it for the author. I am glad I did it was well put together and riveting. The characters are likeable and realistic. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this genre.
I really enjoyed this book. It was different genre from what I normally read but it was definitely worth the read. I like Danny. And Laura to. This was my favorite book of Sofia’s. I highly recommend it to everyone. I can’t wait to see what the futures holds
