Rozie Marshall is an inspired writer from Colorado, where she lives with her husband, kids, and fur babies. She has a BA in European History and works in a bookstore, where else? Although she started writing over a decade and a half ago, it took some convincing for her to publish her first book, but once it happened, the floodgates of words burst and the books kept coming.
Often referred to by her fans as Goddess of Smut and All That is Sexy, she delights her fans with her special knack for kink and smut. When she is not busy arguing with her characters, she spends her time plotting new stories and doing research for her books. Oh, and coffee is her best friend.

If you loved Rozie Marshall Goddess series and Personal Harem books. You are in for a treat. She one of the authors I discovered by chance and have now devoured pretty much everything she has written. As her books deliver vivid sexual scenes that leave you wanting to read it over and over again. You have been warned.
In her new series we are introduced to the world of Basilisk and a world teetering on collapsing into darkness. Resting hope on the Princess Maisie who is thrown for 360' when she lands in Lasina and finds about her men and truth about her heritage.
Thrown into the deep, this book is a sensual journey of self discovery. Maisie knows the basics and her men are tasked with revealing everything about this world. It's not simple task and this book shows the highs and lows of the situation. Maisie as lead who is barely into human adulthood is a standout. She takes to the situation like a duck takes to water and becomes quite a princess. She not flawless and her emotions run the full gallant in this book. However she grows on everyone and her men are not just pleasing on the eyes. They know how to handle Maisie and her tendencies. I didn't want the book to end as I loved the unusual elements to the characters that only made this book even better.
Marshall has a very active imagination and her creativity in this book is outstanding. She really gets these creatures right and the world she has created is magnificent. I'm craving more after this book and the next book releases next week! So don't despair about her cliffhangers as whilst they are epic, it's worth the wait.
DNF 20% - the girl, the writing was incredibly immature. Was I reading some kind of fanfiction? From a girl that liked male-on-male action? I liked the idea of the basilisk, I did not like the idea of the males being able to fuck like in basilisk form because the two hemipenes they have can become inverted thus making them into a vagina... mind you this is explained in the first 20% of the book by one of the guys who is her betrothed. I did not like the fact that they started fucking each other (the guys) because while waiting for her to grow up, the treaty was signed and no woman would touch them. I liked that they stayed under her bed since she was 8 years old, every night, to protect her, they even covered her with a blanket during the night. What I didn't like was that she had a boyfriend with who she frequently had sex and they all gleefully listen to her moan and then use her vibrator. I don't understand the idea - was that supposed to be hot? Is that some kind of fuck all erotica? or Reverse harem romance? Never.
I was so looking forward to reading this. The premise sounded interesting and I was hoping to make it until at least book two where they explored certain taboo kinks that are more rare within the genre.. But fuck the writing is painful to read. It’s juvenile and the dialogue is so unnatural. Even the introduction of the male protagonists was contrived. -There’s just no way I can get past the poor story telling to get to the juicy stuff which is a shame. It’s a no from me.
A. Because of the writing - Both too fast and too slow. Give us a day in her life before shattering it. Or even better, some training by her mom. Show us that she's pulled between on one side her desire to run away, be normal, get a regular college experience, not have so many responsibilities and her love for her boyfriend. And on the other, making her mom proud, her duty to her people, some excitement about meeting her childhood princes, curiosity about seeing her native world. And maybe a little bit of resentment towards her mom because she blames her for forcing this responsibility upon her. And also fear for her father because he did x and y terrible things. And then you got a proper character. Right now she just seems whiny and pitiful because her mom didn't prepare her for this. - I already started skimming through the dialogue because of the sssssss all the time.
B. Because of the story - MC is 18, dudes are 10 years older than her and have been sleeping under her bed for 10 years. It could've been cute if it was just protective but I'm betting it's going to turn creepy like "I heard you do/say this ". Oh yeah and they're married btw. Also MC has way too much of an innocent vibe for someone who's about to be queen/in a harem. - I can't stand the stupid "I have raised you in ignorance of all the knowledge and skills you neeed to do a proper job and not die. Ok, now good luck." trope - Casually dropping in some cheating to get rid of the character tou barely introduced and no longer need. I bet it will barely impact her.
This is such a fantastic book and a beginning of the new series. I've already read everything from this author and I have certain expectations, well I've had certain expectations from her for a while now, and all I can say is that she still surprises me every time. I'm going to leave a warning for cliffhanger haters right now. If you don't like a good cliffhanger wait for the rest of the books, but if you are like me and enjoy a great explosive ending with a cliffhanger that will blow your mind and leave you aching for more, this is one of the best ever! And of course the author came up again with an original idea of basilisk shifters and unusually hot snake activities, featuring in a very interesting story, plotted brilliantly, as is one of her main strengths. The author really knows how to spin a story to keep a reader entranced from beginning to the end. Every single detail so well thought out and executed. The characters are fantastic as usual, all well developed, individual and different, each one with their own quirks and special features. I am not saying they are all immediately lovable, but the ones that are not, certainly become lovable as the story progresses. I immediately fell in love with Viper, who is one of the side characters and I hope I will see more of her in the subsequent books. Maisie is the main character and she abruptly gets pulled in this world, which is completely new to her. And although she knew she was a basilisk shifter, she was hoping to live out her life as human. The story starts at the moment when her dreams of remaining human get crushed abruptly and she is thrown outside of any imaginable comfort zone and has to suddenly make decisions about things she didn't even know existed. Oh how I feel for her and her situation! She does the best she can, and she struggles with the onslaught of emotions caused by all kinds of unexpected events. I love her dearly, although she is not always making the best choices. The author did such a fantastic job developing her and making her as realistic and three-dimensional as possible. The guys are great as well, and the side characters are nothing short of intriguing. There are so many characters and so much happens, I devoured the book so fast and then regretted I didn't take more time. I'll be more than happy to re-read this book because I loved it so much and I can't wait to read the next one. Books need to be read in order: The Basilisk Princess (The Lasina Chronicles Book 1), The Basilisk Queen (The Lasina Chronicles Book 2), and The Basilisk Empress (The Lasina Chronicles Book 3).
I can’t say that I have read a book involving basilisks before, but I loved the idea. The whole concept was not the typical theme most RH or fantasy romance books follows. The world the author created was interesting as well as the characters. The author did a great job keeping each character true to their own quirks such as the one who is a relentless flirt and the exaggerated hissing/lisping when Emot talks.
The steam was pretty hot and even the anatomy described was erotic. I mean there are 2 of “them” even in human form. I can always appreciate the odd and taboo when it’s done well and this was perfectly executed by the author.
Maisie did annoy me at times with her behavior but I just kept reminding myself that she’s still a teenager so it’s expected. She tended to be dramatic and selfish at times and rarely took the effort or time to make things work for her homeland, her people, and her men. That was really my only complaint about the book.
This is a series that I plan to continue reading and I’m interested to see what happens next after that ending.
With every book haul I make, I always choose at least one for the cover alone and, oh boy, this may be the book that ends the tradition. First thing I noticed was the writing was awful. Every character was one demisonal. They had their part and were only included in the scenes when it was necessary to their part. They all came off as sounding robotic with no personality what's so ever. Since it's a very short book I thought I'd just skim through to the main parts which was basically the main character mating with every dang person in the book. Now I generally have a pretty open mind when it comes to kinks. However, since I'm assuming very few of the population is made up of snake shape shifting people with multiple cocks (which can also shape shift into one giant cock), I'm just gonna say it, the smut of this book was a whole new level of weird and uncomfortable.
So I feel like I need to justify this one.. I really enjoyed this book, the story was original and basilisks were unknown to me and it was great to discover them. HOWEVER, I found the FMC extremely infuriating and frustrating. She was childish and, yeah I can understand her on some level when I think about the situation. But I feel like she was complaining the whole book and was pretty selfish in her actions. If she had been different it would have been 4 stars.
I’ll still read the next book because I like the story and the guys were pretty great !
This was a really cool read. Different take on shifters and the first book I'm reading about a female basilisk shifter. This is a medium burn and has a healthy balance of sex and plot, then the later books there is more and more sex. (Not that there is anything wrong with that). Once again Rozie introduces a different kink than I'm used to into this series, but it's interesting none the less. Enjoy!
Interesting premise but Christ on a Cracker, this FMC is stupid. There are a couple of conflicts that came off as somewhat contrived and made Maisie seem dimwitted and about as deep as a teaspoon.
Seeing that the subsequent books are better rated, I might give it another go but if she continues to be written this way, I'm out.
Ok story, except the "woe is me, for I have been chosen" bits. I can totally understand wanting to find mom, but, she's now queen. Couldn't she have found a portal maker, or did I miss something? Not a bad story and viper's scene was hot, hot, hot!! Steamy parts were great, story was ok.
Was good, real good, and I was honestly not expecting that at all.
I didn't like how suddenly, at one point, Maisie decided she was a clueless idiot. She wasn't like that at all in the rest of the book there was just one section that was completely not believable.
I had to google what a Basilisk is. I loved that Maisey's mates were so devoted to her. The cliffhanger at the end was expected but still makes me want book 2 like yesterday.
Wow, what an introduction to this book. I have a few laugh out loud moments... So sweet and cute and sexy it's rare but if you do it right it can be the perfect combination
Definitely a different story with a different type Of shifter! I didn’t really like how maisie was treating the guys and how immature he was at first though it makes sense when not knowing about the treaty (but why didn’t her mom, like, prep her?!)
I loved this book. It was hot hot hot 🔥🔥🔥 Highly recommend this book. The characters are well written and completely different to anything I have read before. Can't wait for the next one.
Wow, mind blown as always with Rozie's books. Intense read with alot of secrecy, romance and backstory to understand it all. Can't wait to read more. JL
