"Fuck him and his stupid chiseled jaw and his bland personality and his deceitful fucking butthole!"
"I didn't order a sandwich." Sulli grins.
"But you're the peanut butter to our bread."
"We'd be bland without you," Akara jokes.
"I fucking hate fireworks. They can go blow up Satan's butthole. That's where you fucking belong!" she shouts at the ceiling.
"YEAH!" Akara yells upward.
"FUCK YEAH!" Sulli screams.

"We're not doing anything that could hurt you or the baby," Akara adds. "Cumbuckets," I mutter.
"She's sad," Akara says in a teasing voice to Banks.
He wears a shadow of a smile. "She wants our cocks."

"Don't die for me," she chokes out.
Banks and I share a smile, and he's the one who says, "I couldn't think of a better person to die for."
"Lady Meadows," I finish.
Daisy swivels more, unbuckling. "Good news first. The sun before the clouds is totally better."
Sulli tucks her legs to her chest. "I'd rather be a sunrise slut than Sulli the Slut anyway."

"Are we going to what?" Akara asks, sliding his boxer-briefs down. He's totally naked, his erection standing at attention. I imagine him filling me. I breathe, "Are we going to bone?" He smiles. "You want his boner?"

"Instead of failing at whispering, just say it to my face, Sulli." An insult and a challenge. I'm not interested in the mental-fuckery from Charlie–not before tomorrow's 400m free. "I'll fucking pass."
"Coward."

"And that will always be the difference between them and all of you," Charlie says pointedly. "You have a heart."
"And you dont?" Eliot challenge. "I see through you, Charlie, and your heart beats just like the rest of ours, dear brother."
"If only that were true."
Black high heels, black dress, and black sunglasses, Rose walks hand-in-hand with Connor Cobalt. He's dressed for a Fortune 500 business meeting, not an emo-punk concert, but they carry themselves with importance, like everyone else are the ones who don't belong.

“It’s been the three of us taking the next step, and I don’t want to move backwards. Forward. Onward. Always.”
We’re not letting anyone get to us. They won’t break us apart. They won’t hurt us. They won’t win.
“I was always afraid of our kids being damaged like us, but I never imagined any of you would be infamous like us.” But here I am.

He’s mid-pound on the bathroom door when Donnelly calls out, “Luna, you in there?”
“Donnelly?” Luna sounds hopeful.
Jesse’s shaggy hair sways as he nods. “Yeah, yeah, of course. Does, uh, Winona know?” He waits for the answer with bated breath.

"ben probably fits in better with my family, the meadows, than with the cobalts anyway, and he’s my sister’s best friend.”
"akara, don’t work yourself to death. the people you love will remind you of that more than i can. lily always does for me."
“if anyone might know what’s going on with luna, it’s donnelly.””
she pops up from her beanbag and spreads her arms up and legs out like she’s making a giant x with her body. barley barricading the wide hall.
donnelly tries to side-step and she bounces in front of him. still in x formation.
he goes to the left. she bounces to the left.
donnelly comes to a halt in front of luna. they’re both staring at one another for a long beat.
“hale,” he says.
“donnelly,” she replies.
