Thrust back in time to 1853, he's on a mission to save a woman from a tyrant with a score to settle. Falling for her wasn't part of the plan, neither was earning himself a spot on the hit list.
Veterinarian Mathew McCall doesn't believe in time travel, but he changes his mind after volunteering for what is supposed to be a research project on dreams. He's given a mission: Prevent the capture of a rebellious spitfire, otherwise she will be murdered. Confused about the random specifics, he accepts anyway.
In 1853 Wisconsin, Verity Arris angered the wrong person, and now she's hiding from the vengeance-seeking tyrant on her family's farm. A prisoner for a year so far, she daydreams of escaping and making her mark on the California Gold Rush. When a strange man arrives at her doorstep, everything she planned is turned upside down.
Mathew must decide between staying in the present for his patients and returning to 1853, risking his life for the free spirit that stole his heart.
If you love sizzling romance, edge-of-your-seat action, time travel, swoon-worthy heroes, and sassy ladies in a small town setting, you'll love Stephanie Flynn's dramatic historical adventure books. Each is a standalone with guaranteed HEA, but an overarching narrative. Best if read in order.
Stephanie Flynn writes action-packed romance filled with adventure, suspense, and danger. She lives in Michigan, USA, with her husband and kids, and she spends her writing time surrounded by a herd of normal cats who bat everything off her desk, including her coffee.
An Excellent Time Travel Romance. Mathew's sister has gone missing and the police don't seem interested in looking for her, so he is trying whatever else he can. His veterinary practice keeps him busy all day every day, so he wants to try one more time to get the police interested in finding her or at least searching. He asked Kiko to go with him this time for moral support. She agrees but first has a project for a class she is doing at the university and wants his help there. All he has to do is sleep and dream. He agrees to do so and will go to the police the next night. The dream begins an adventure that is fraught with danger. In 1853, he finds himself on a small farm where he meets a lady in trouble. At first he doesn't know what kind of trouble she is in, but soon, her brother is trying to get her to hide from a man who is looking for her. Verity Arris was in trouble. Jaime Perez was out to kill her. Mathew goes to help her and gets killed in his dream. He wakes back in his own time and the story continues. There is murder in the story, mayhem too. Lots of action and going back and forth in time. Mathew falls in love with Verity and wants to save her. They have quite an adventure in modern times and go back to 1853 again. The time travel in the story is marvelous, He saves Verity's life and they become really close. There is kidnapping, violence, a money scheme, murder , and excitement in it. A fast-paced good read for anyone who loves a good romance peppered with action and mixed with two time periods in New York. I loved this story and will read more from Stephanie Flynn for sure. Great book.
The second book in the Curator Series another story in this series that held my interest until the end. I enjoyed reading Veterinarian Mathew McCall who goes back to 1853 and meets Verity Arris. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
New author for me. Book two in the Curator series, Hours to Arrive, follows Veterinarian Mathew McCall as he goes back in time to 1853 to save Verity Arris from being murdered. When Mathew fails to save Verity the first time, he must chose between helping locate his missing sister, or going back in time to save Verity’s life.
I really enjoyed this story. I love the adventurous and impulsive heroine willing to fight for the future she wants. I really liked how the first book and and this one complete each other. An absolutely beautiful love story!

A time travel book that is fun to read. Part of a series and to get the most out of this book I would recommend reading them in order. They are pure escapism. You won't be disappointed.
I’m reading through the Matchmaker series for the first time and ADORED the first book. Gave it 5 stars! But then I moved onto the second one… And I have never been more frustrated with a book before in my life…. How many times is someone going to literally throw themselves into danger pretty much purposely without any thought of the repercussions for themselves and their loved ones?!? How many times is one person going to get kidnapped within the same book?! “Should I stay here safe at home even though I have a hit out on me?” Nah, I’ll run off into the winter barren land without any supplies. “Should I stay with my protective loved ones even though I have a hit out on me?” Nah, I’ll knowingly run right directly into the bad men that are looking for me. “Should I leave this dangerous time and immediately go home to where I’m 100% safe and sound with my fiancée?” Nah, let’s go drink at a run down bar even though I have a hit out on me. UGH. Give me a break! And with how 99% of the characters reacted to the final kidnapping it was almost as if they were over it also. Incredibly, incredibly annoying.
Also, two books. Two main female hero’s. Both pregnant by the end. I pray to God the next book doesn’t end with a pregnancy or I might not be able to finish the series. NOTHING is wrong with a happy ending or pregnancy, but please stop recycling storylines within your own series. Only The Young & The Restless can get away with that.
I will say there were some really lovely parts, including how well the characters from the first book are tied in. But, sadly, the annoying outweighed the good.
I will be reading the rest of the series. And I pray it’s nothing like book two, and everything like book one.

I love a good time-travel romance when it has believable, relatable characters. Luckily, this was just one of those kinds of books. I liked the hero right away. He is a genuinely decent guy who usually puts the needs of others before his own. After a certain point, that actually got a little wearing as it seems hard to believe that anybody could be so incredibly selfless. But he is still very likable. We could feel empathy for the heroine right away because we could see her dire circumstances, even if the author didn't reveal why right away. When the hero brings her back to the present to save her life, it was fun and funny to watch her reactions to modern times. It's hard to believe, though, that a woman of her times could adapt to our computerized world so quickly. I have to say, too, that I am not wild about the cover. The bonnet should have been tied beneath her chin to be historically accurate, and a woman of that time never wore a leather corset over her clothes! All in all, this is a lovely time-travel romance.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Will Matthew make it back in time to help Verity in time? Matthew is living in today's time as a Veterinary, but he was able to go back in time to help a young woman. Will he make it back within the right hour? You'll need to read the rest to find out. I received this ARC for my honest review.
To be honest the going back in forth messed with me a bit, but I'm glad it was indicated within the fir chapters.
I love these books. They are all interconnected with family members so far, but each story is completely different and exciting. I’ve loved all the characters except the bad guys of course. I am so looking forward to beginning the next book. Don’t forget to begin the series with “Minutes to Live”, book .05. It sets up the whole series.
Very good read, enjoyed the first book a lot so I decided to read on, glad I did. I liked the story and the characters better in the first book, but still enjoyed the time travel back to the past. Will definitely read on, hoping April and Sam will make an appearance.
Kiko is a sly person. She sends people to the past for people that don’t find each other on their own. Usually they have to save someone then they fall in love. Sometimes it’s dangerous well most of the time some danger is involved.
It was much more interesting than the other first one & the characters were more interesting, stable & they did not go all hormones when they were at a deadly critical moment as was in the first book! Thank you
A little more graphic than book 1, time travel in reverse of spending time in the future as well as the past. A gal who tends to trust too many men and a man sho trusts few women.
