Charles William Eliot was an American academic who was selected as Harvard's president in 1869. He transformed the provincial college into the preeminent American research university. Eliot served the longest term as president in the university's history.

Extremely useful for those who bought about half the Harvard Classics at a thrift store and needed both backstory and a comprehensive reading list. I'm very glad this is available on KU, it was very helpful and excellent reading. Short, to the point, and exactly what I needed! 5 ⭐!

It's a good investment. Many of the texts can be downloaded online for free. Good reading material for high school and college students.

Great reading

Love the links that bring you directly to the book it is talking about, I'm sure I have many classics in my personal collection but this book has links to readings I don't have
