This is the first book in the series that I have read and I do feel the lack of reading the previous books, particularly after reading some reviews of the other books. It is obvious that this world is filled with many creatures, politics, and an unique blend of technology and magic but much of that does not play a major role in this book. The broad strokes are there so the book is understandable but the Devil is in the details and the lack takes away some of my reading enjoyment.

Rune felt too much of a victim in the beginning. A lot of bad things were happening to her but she didn't seem to do much about it. People kept on telling her to get something that would help her but it seemed low on her list of things to do. Only near the end does she finally really take charge and become an active agent.

That's when things really become interesting. A good fight scene. Secrets are revealed. A complicated view of hell and heaven, and what are demons. St. Benedict, another major character, is intriguing and he played a major part in the beginning but near the end he just disappears. The relationship between Rune and St. Benedict is filled with romantic tension but of course there is a major obstacle to them being together, especially after the end of this story. It end in a small cliffhanger and lots of questions still be answered.

I would be interested in reading more of this series, both before and afterwards, but I think I would appreciate this addition to the series more if I read the previous books first.

I received a free copy of this book thanks to Netgalley.com and the publisher in return for a fair and impartial review.

The Devil’s Day is the third spellbinding book in The Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie. I know I have said this before, but I absolutely love this series, it really is soooo fantastic! I have been anticipating the release of this book for a while now and was so excited when it finally hit my kindle. Ms. Mackie doesn’t disappoint- keeping me enthralled the whole way through. This is an epic urban fantasy with cyberpunk/neon-fantasy, sci-fi, dystopian, and paranormal elements. There is so much to love here- with plenty of magic, action adventure, suspense, mystery, conspiracies, hidden agendas, corporate politics, quips, banter, drama, tension, chemistry, intrigue, danger, secrets, emotion, and different realms….as well as a myriad of mystical and mythical creatures.
The overarching storyline is spellbinding and full of intricate details and incredible world building. If you haven’t read the previous books, I highly recommend that you do as not only are the stories absolutely wonderful, there’s a lot of backstory and character information there that will help you better appreciate this book- as well as build a much bigger picture.
Rune has been through, and discovered, so much since we met her back in book one. This book sees her face her biggest challenge yet- and Ms. Mackie certainly put her through her paces here. Rune has been challenged for control of her ‘House’- which is so much more than just a bar- so there’s quite a lot at stake. She isn’t sure she has what it takes to win the challenge- but time is pressing and soon she won’t have a choice. She will need to face this head on and use all the skills and connection she has gained, if she has any chance of succeeding. But there is more going on than just a ‘challenge’- as Rune will soon learn. Her lack of confidence in herself could lead to her losing all she loves. But there is a lot more to Rune than even she gives herself credit for.
Saint Benedict is a cybernetically enhanced corporate spy who has a complicated past. Again, these two will need to work closely together in order to get through this latest threat. But will secrets and betrayal destroy the trust they have built between them. With outside forces targeting them and hellbent on winning at any cost, they are put in a seemingly impossible and incredibly dangerous situation, where their options are running out and all their lives, and the fate of the ‘House’ and the Lucky Devil Bar, are all on the line. What ensues makes for an un-put-downable read!!!
Ms. Mackie has once again delivered a wonderfully rich, vibrant and vividly detailed story- set in a such a cleverly constructed and interesting world. This is world building on a masterful level. The characters are truly brilliant- so well crafted and fully developed. There are a lot of characters to keep track of, but the story is so well written that I didn’t have any trouble keeping up. I loved how the characters grow and evolve as the story progresses, especially Rune. I love the chemistry between Rune and Saint Benedict, I really hope that chemistry develops into something ‘more’. I have been rooting for them since the beginning- so they better get their act together soon.
The story twists and turns, with lots of surprises and unexpected developments that had me on the edge of my seat in expectation. I loved that this story provided so much more backstory and character revelations- there were so many fascinating details that I would love to divulge here, but I won’t as I really don’t want to spoil any of the story for you.
I can’t recommend this story and author highly enough. You really should read it for yourself, you really won’t be disappointed!!!
Can. Not. Wait. For. The. Next. Instalment!!!

Thank you, Megan Mackie!

This is the third book in this series, and I would recommend that you start from the beginning. Don’t start with this one. I enjoyed the first two very much, and I was eager to start this one. This book is overall very well-written, and I quite enjoy the characters. However, while I did enjoy the first half of this book, it was a little slow and meandering. After about the halfway mark, things really took a turn, and the book became full of action and not in any way slow. I really enjoyed the revelations that came in this book, and I am really looking forward to the next one. Recommend.

We continue with the adventure of Rune and her partner St. Benedict!
Once again Rune has to fight to lead her house, shes facing Abraxas in a magical duel. In preparing for it she discovers long lost secrets and faces betrayal from those close to her.
Theres romantic tensions with Rune and Benedict and quite frankly I wanted to smack Benedict over the head!! Grab your chance before its gone!

Loved this book and looking forward to reading more!

This is book three in the ‘The Lucky Devil’ series by Megan Mackie, the storyline is set in an alternate Chicago where technology and magic are in competition with each other. This is an urban fantasy/cyberpunk novel with a fast paced storyline and some great characters. I thoroughly enjoyed being back with Rune and visiting her ‘Lucky Devil Bar’. I was pulled back into the alternate world that Megan Mackie creates and was I excited to join Runes adventures again. “You can always find help at the Lucky Devil” and Rune Leveau who rebuilt her own life there continues her Aunt Maddie’s legacy, in her memory. Rune is an emerging magical Talent and an ex corporate prisoner who is days away from having to defend her claim to the House of Magdalene, which includes the bar. Rune and her partner, St. Benedict, the cyber-spy are looking for a way to defeat the fire Talent, Abraxas who is her challenger when they uncover long kept secrets. The pair hope that these might hold the key to Rune’s claim. This is an enjoyable and engaging read which I would recommend reading as part of the series as the storyline does continue from the previous book, ‘The Saint of Liars’. It has an action packed and exciting plot which had me hooked from beginning to the end and includes some brilliant characters, especially Rune who is a great main character. The authors wonderfully descriptive narrative and amazing world building really bought both the characters and the setting to life and ensured that I felt fully immersed in the story.

The Devil’s Day (The Lucky Devil Series Book 3)
By Megan Mackie
5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book The Devil’s Day (The Lucky Devil Series Book 3) by Megan Mackie. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. I love the characters of Rune Leveau and St. Benedict. Rune is someone who has magical Talent, is kind, strong, and even though she won’t admit to it is attracted to St. Benedict. St. Benedict is a cyber-spy who is attracted to Rune however feels that the best thing that he could do for her is to leave. This story finds Rune defending her claim to the House of Magdaline. What does the future hold for Rune and St. Benedict? Read this book to find out. This is a story that has secrets and surprises throughout. It is a book that had me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. Rune and St. Benedict are characters that I care about what happens to them. Then there is Abraxas who has a selfish agenda and plans. I enjoyed reading about the other familiar characters in the series. The author does an amazing job of making the storyline and characters come alive. This is another exciting and entertaining book in a wonderful series. I highly recommend reading it.

I have read every book in this series by this author. I enjoyed this one just as much if not more than the previous ones. I highly suggest reading this series, it is full of action and just entertaining to read. This author has continued to impress me with her writing skills and attention to details. This story is no different. The characters bring the story to life and they are connectable. They pulled me into their story and made it feel realistic. Rune has rebuilt her life but will the Devil come calling to collect what is his? As past secrets are brought to light, what do they mean? This is where the story really picks up and I couldn’t put it down to the last page. This is a great story that was fun to read. I highly recommend this book and his author.

An entertaining story of a demonic pact gone wrong, hunters, and the secret past of the Lucky Devil. I feel this has the most direct plot of the books but I'm frustrated at our two leads not getting together yet! Kiss already! Anyway, a very solid and entertaining entry into the franchise.

Thrilling and non stop action! I am glad I am not a character...I would need a breather. They just keep jumping from the frying pan into the fire....and then back into the pan again. So much goes in in here. I would recommend reading the first two to get some background and help with this one. We see a lot of heart stopping and shocking moments. That Rune really impressed me since she came off all flighty previously. Yes there are times I really don’t follow all that Uncle Lucas and St Benedict say but it’s all part of the bigger picture.

I think I said the last one is a fav. But this one overtakes my feelings on that. It answers a lot of questions but not all. I really feel that as these stories go on they became more magic filled and less steampunk. Which I loved. St Ben really seems human with a few augmentations and on the cover he looks like a robot. Why? Maybe I’m wrong. Anyway this is a small wonder that I have.

Over all this story is amazing. The places this author takes us are as many as there are the characters. I couldn’t hardly put this down as the suspense kept me glued to the book. I highly recommend.

There comes a time when the bill comes due and you have to settle up. That time has come for our heroine, but she is going to contest that bill with everything she can. And that is saying a lot.

This is book three of the Lucky Devil series. The story does pretty well as a standalone. You will be missing some of the backstory, but all the essential bits are covered early on.

This is something of a science fiction/urban fantasy story. We have a high tech future with supernaturals, so make of that what you will. The story is well written, easy to read and very engaging. Between the detailed setting where nothing is quite as it seems and the diverse characters that bring a lot of color to the story, there is never a dull moment. Frankly, I found it quite hard to put down, always needing to read one more page to see what happened next. Overall, a very enjoyable story and I look forward to exploring more of this author's works, starting with the earlier two books in this series.

Highly recommended.

The Devil’s Day (The Lucky Devil Series Book 3) by Megan Mackie. I have loved reading this series. Its been so fun to watch Rune grow in her powers and in her life. Its the continuing story of Rune Leveau who is running the Lucky Devil bar that her Aunt Maddie left her and also she is learning how to use her newly found magical powers. With the help of cyber spy St. Benedict her partner she is thinking she has it all together. She is kind, strong and will die before she admits it but she is strongly attracted to St. Benedict! They are trying to defend her claim to the House of Magdalene and its not as easy as she thought it would be. When Abraxas the fire Talent decides to challenge Rune wills he be able to succeed? When secrets old and new come out it will only be a matter of time before the house will fall. Will it be Rune's house that falls or wills he succeed in keeping her reign? This book will keep you turning pages late in the night. Its a great read!

The Devil’s Day is book three in the Lucky Devil series by Megan Mackie. I would definitely recommend reading the other two books in the series before starting this one, if you don’t you will miss out on the back story that I think is vital to the enjoyment and understanding of the story.

As with the other books in this series, this book is action packed right from the start. It continues with the Rune and St Benedict and their adventures. The author has her own distinctive writing style that shines through in all the books in this series and it really makes them stand out. The characters are well developed
...especially now we are in book three, so I was totally hooked and invested in their lives from the start. The pace is pretty fast, there’s lots going on. If you like books jam packed full of action and story telling then I would recommend this book for you.

The Devil’s Day by Megan Mackie is the third book in the Lucky Devil’s series. Personally I would recommend reading this series in order as it follows the same characters and is a continuation of their story.
This series honestly just keeps getting better and better! Each book I read instantly becomes me favourite one until I pick up the next. It takes no effort at all to fall back into the story and the characters that you come to love so much.
This book is exciting and fast paced. It feels like there is something happening on every single page and I just couldn’t read it fast enough. I hadn’t heard of this author before this series but now she easily falls into one of my favourites. If I see a book with her name on it I wouldn’t hesitate to one click immediately. This is a fantastic book that you should read today!

I have read the other books in this series by Megan Mackie. This book, in humble opinion, is better than the first. I recommend reading the series in order to thoroughly enjoy this book. Megan Mackie does an amazing job keeping the attention of the reader by her storylines. Her charters are fully developed and complex. Not only is her storyline great and moving, but also her characters. I feel connected to her characters. Rune came back to help her aunt to rebuild The Lucky Devil bar. Since her aunt died she is trying to keep the bar going. That is until the Devil comes calling to collect Rune is taken back. What will happen when Rune does not give in to the Devil’s demands. What secrets did her aunt have? Can St. Benedict helps Rune with this little situation or will Rune lose it all? You will have to read the story to find out the answers to these questions and more.

The Devils Day by Megan Mackie a Devilish five-star read. This is number three in the Lucky Devil series and they are all sublime, I would advise to read the whole series as they do fill in the story, there are so many great deep characters that you may miss tiny details for if you don’t and it may not be much, but it could be the key to really getting the character. This story and series have been brilliant at lifting my mood and transporting me into the story, I felt like I was there with Rune, has that horrid pit in my stomach as though I was the one possibly losing everything. I was there with Rune wanting to tell her to face up to the secrets and not bury her head, to realise that the secret has the power not what its about. This has been a great series and I cant wait to hear more form this author.

The Devil's Day (Lucky Devil #3) by Megan Mackie
4 Stars!!!!

Another adventure at the Lucky Devil. I have to say that this author has such a unique and refreshing style. I was drawn into the action as though I was part of it. I really like how the characters have a complex mix of interaction. I really like how they all seem to compliment one another and the story is also mixed with bits of back story that brings adds to all.

I really found myself drawn to Rune's character. I could see how as the story progresses she is coming more into her own self. I really like the drama that unfolded in this book as it was very explanitory of her story and that of her family. I like the undertone of romance. I look foreward to reading more from this series as well as this author.

The Devil's Day (Lucky Devil #3) by Megan Mackie was a good 4 star read.

The series continues and I was excited to see what was coming next. It took me a bit to get pulled in but once I was I couldn’t put it down. Rune is preparing for a magical duel. We also get some sparks between Rune and Benedict. Both of these characters are great, We get action, adventure and so much more.

I would highly suggest that you read the first two books in the series, otherwise you may be lost. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right into their world. All of the characters added a great element to the story. I look forward to reading more from this author. 1-click and get started today.

The Devil's Day by Megan Mackie is the third book in the Lucky Devil series. I highly recommend this book but first, insist you read the other books in the series first. The primary storyline continues throughout the books and I feel you would miss out on a ton of great stuff without reading the series in order. Rune Leveau has a new challenge on her hands and St. Benedict, cyber-spy, is by her side to help her try to get her way through. There is some romantic tension between these two characters but neither is wanting to act upon it, there is just too much at stake. If you like adventure, a futuristic setting, with twists and turns I think you will really enjoy this series. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future with great anticipation.

The Devil's Day (The Lucky Devil Book 3) by Megan Mackie is a Sci Fi Fantasy story. Rune and St. Benedict are back and find themselves in a magical fight. Along the way Rune is faced with secrets, lies and betrayal. I wanted to shake her shoulders and tell her to wake up and get her stuff together but not only that I wanted to smack St Benedict. The first half of the book was a little slow and took a while to get into it but the second half is where things pick up and the action begins. You really need to read the other two books in this series before you read this one otherwise, I think you will find it hard to settle in this story.

The Devil’s Day (Lucky Devil #3)
By Megan Mackie
4 stars

Another great read from this author. This is the third book in the Lucky Devil series and I would definitely recommend that they are read in order! This for me was a little slow to start but I still really enjoyed it. I really like Rune; she’s a great character to read about. The action in the story definitely picked up in the second half of the story and my attention was definitely grabbed from there on in. The author does have a wonderful attention to detail which is great for me as a reader; it helps me imagine what I’m reading.
Overall a great third book in the series and I look forward to more from this author in the future.

The Devil's Day (The Lucky Devil Book 3) by Megan Mackie. Once again I found myself completely drawn in to this story world this author has created. Each book gets better than the last and sometimes that can be difficult and I applaud this author for making sure an interesting and engaging storyline that has me coming back for more. The characters each bring this story to life in their own way. The author does a wonderful job of writing a story that jumps off the pages. It’s easy to stay inside it’s pages for longer than planned. Can’t wait to see where this author takes readers next. Four stars and highly recommended.

The Devil's Day is the 3rd book in The Lucky Devil series. I have read all 3 and they are amazing. They are all full of action and magic. The writing is so good you can actually imagine being there.

Rune is  back. As the owner of the Lucky Devil bar her life has been a roller coaster since her aunt Maggie died and left her in charge.

With the Devil's day fast approaching and a challenge from a rival to take over her house she needs to work fast to try and save everything she has. If she doesn't succeed she will lose it all.
Can she defeat her challenger? Can she figure out the ritual to pay the devil his due? Or will she lose everything.

The Devil's Day (the Lucky Devil Book 3)
Megan Mackie
4 out of 5 stars

I've come to really enjoy Megan Mackie's writing, specifically the Lucky Devil series. The Devil's Day is book 3 in the series and though it is a full length novel and longer than my recent reads, it kept my interest and flew by!
I have really enjoyed the character development throughout this series and venture to say The Devil's Day may be my favorite installment!
I would recommend reading the series in order as you don't want to miss a twist, turn or ounce of character growth. Megan Mackie is definitely an author I want to read more from!

The Devil's Day by Megan Mackie is the third book in the Lucky Devil series, and was a good read. This book is not a stand alone novel, it's much better to read the other books in the series first. I have read the first book in this series, but not the second book, and because of that I was thrown off quite a bit in this story. I still enjoyed this novel, but I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I would have read the second installation as well. The storyline was really good, and the characters were great. This series (what I have read anyway) is definitely a good read.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the EARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a good read although being the only book I have read in the series there was confusion at times due to not knowing the backstory. In saying that though I still enjoyed it and found that most of the characters were entertaining.

I will definitely be looking at reading the first two books and continuing with the series though as I found that it caught my attention to want to know what happened previously and what is going to happen after this book.

The Devil's Day (The lucky devil book 3) by Megan Mackie
Review by Kaitlyn Stewart
4 out of 5 stars

This book is very action-packed and has that romantic tension that you can cut with a knife. The first part of the book was a little bit slow. Luckily it picked up in the second half of the book. Rune is strong and smart, she learns to use her magical powers. What will happen to Rune and St. Benedict? Read to find out!!! There is a small cliffhanger that will leave you wanting more!
