It's not just about the Kübler-Ross Model. And if you really think about it, it's not rocket science. Informative, validating and so, very helpful.

Beautifully written, I saw in the author's words all that I had been feeling but unable to express over medical issues faced by my husband. Written from professional training as well as her own tragic personal loss, there is nothing more healing than a therapist who knows exactly how you feel. Her words reminded me that sometimes the best way to get through the moment is to just breathe deeply; and we should never lose sight of our physical wellness when caring for our emotions. As she talked about how others can wrongly perceive us during our grieving time, I thought about all of my husband's doctors telling me all of the many things I needed to be doing to take care of him--never once giving thought to how this was overwhelming my ability to cope. Did they not realize the man I knew was gone, and how much I missed him? Grief can come even before death, and we need to understand the process of dealing with it. Her words gave me hope. They provided a calm port in the storm. I highly recommend this book to everyone in all struggles of life.
