I just love reading tales about Anne Bonny, ever since Karliene (a YouTuber of the music sort) made an original album specifically about Anne Bonny's life from the point of view of Anne herself; it was very insightful, in a way. I enjoyed this. I wonder if there’s any more books that are as good as this but tell her tale a bit differently; wouldn’t want to read the same exact thing but from someone else.

This book was a virtual voice narration and the selected voice was fitting. Beware as this book is 14.5 hours long. This is why it took me a bit to complete. As you know I normally try for books under ten hours long but with my current writings this one drew my attention so I toughed it out for the longer listen.

Alright now onto my thoughts. Quick note; as truly very little is actually known about Anne Bonny before her emergence on the pirate scene and as to what really happed after her trial. Most of what we do know is hearsay and written in some questionable stories from that era. With this disclaimer out of the way this was a good book covering Anne’s life before and after piracy. The author took his fictional creative license and created an interesting backstory that carried through to the point after the trial of Anne Bonny! We do know some history that Anne had been introduced to the world as a boy by her father as he had no son and she was, as far as we know, an illegitimate daughter he fathered with a servant. The explanation of her background that created the person she became was excellent. The Ending, (No Spoiler) though it did not really happen I did find the ending satisfying!

This was a nice adventure taking you back to that old world and how brutal and yet simple it was. If you like stories of the old world and pirates I would say you will like this one.

ok but drags in places

Ive read several fictional books on Anne Bonny. I really wanted to like this one but it’s much longer than it needed to be and dragged in too many places. She’s a fascinating woman and I hope one day someone does her story justice.

Great story

Lots of adventure, romance, conspiracy, a true pirate story. Some of the events are historically accurate. Lovely ending, enjoy¡!!!!!!!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

story is a great one that was hard to put down .
