Beautiful renegade Anne Bonny disguised herself as a man and joined a pirate crew in Nassau in 1718. Captured off the Jamaican coast two years later, she was convicted of piracy on the high seas and condemned to hang. Though never pardoned or paroled, there is no record that she died in prison. She was lost to history. This is the story of Anne's rebellious beginnings, romantic obsessions, her adventures as a pirate and what may have happened after she disappeared.
I just love reading tales about Anne Bonny, ever since Karliene (a YouTuber of the music sort) made an original album specifically about Anne Bonny's life from the point of view of Anne herself; it was very insightful, in a way. I enjoyed this. I wonder if there’s any more books that are as good as this but tell her tale a bit differently; wouldn’t want to read the same exact shit but from someone else.
Ive read several fictional books on Anne Bonny. I really wanted to like this one but it’s much longer than it needed to be and dragged in too many places. She’s a fascinating woman and I hope one day someone does her story justice.
Lots of adventure, romance, conspiracy, a true pirate story. Some of the events are historically accurate. Lovely ending, enjoy¡!!!!!!!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!
