Charles Frazier Stanley was born September 25, 1932, in the small town of Dry Fork, Virginia. The only child of Charley and Rebecca Stanley, Charles came into the world during a time when the entire nation felt the grip of the Great Depression. To make matters worse, just nine months later, his father Charley died at the young age of 29.
However, Charles refused to let the Great Depression or the difficulties of his life define him. Instead, like his father and grandfather before him, he clung to God’s Word and took up the mantle to preach the gospel to whoever would listen.
Dr. Stanley’s motivation is best represented by the truth found in Acts 20:24, “Life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about God's mighty kindness and love.” This is because, as he says, “It is the Word of God and the work of God that changes people’s lives.”
Dr. Stanley’s teachings can be heard weekly at First Baptist Church Atlanta, daily on “In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanley” radio and television broadcasts on more than 2,800 stations around the world, on the Internet at intouch.org, through the In Touch Messenger, and in the monthly, award-winning In Touch magazine.

I enjoy reading/listening to just about anything scriptural. I enjoyed this book and the author’s breakdown of each scripture for every day. I did not only listen to one devotion per day as many would. I listened the entire book in less than one week. I am also someone who rereads a book more than once. I will continue to enjoy the messages within this book.

Life changing
I loved reading this devotional book. I started on January 1st of 21’ and during that week my husband came down with COVID and my father had a second major stroke. I came close to losing them both that month. I ended up losing 3 loved ones in the same week in September of 21’. This devotional book helped me through those difficult times, and gave me spiritual food on a daily basis. I don’t know what I would have done without Jesus and pastor Stanley’s anointed daily guidance. ❤️

A deeper and challenging devotional
This devotional is great for growing Christians. It challenges you to grow deeper in your faith. One way I used it was to read a chapter in the Bible instead of just the verse highlighted. I would recommend to anyone seeking to follow Christ or to grow in faith.

This devotional was referred to me by a friend. My wife and I used it almost everyday for the last year as one of our morning devotional materials. And although I didn't agree with some of the theology I perceived, the book nonetheless was inspiring to continue our journey of faith.

I begin a daily Devotional at the beginning of each year. This was gifted to me last Christmas. It is a great Devotional for those who have a busy schedule but want to stay in the word. Each day there are short passages to read; however, they are thought provoking and cause you to reflect on yourself and your walk.
