After 20+ years as one of New York City's best real estate agents, she's ready to use that experience to become one of the city's leading developers.
Quinn has been dreaming of a spectacular development in Brooklyn, and she's spent years buying the lots and the properties she'll need to make it happen.
Now, only one home stands in her way.
One last purchase and Quinn would finally be able to break ground.
When a hot-shot real estate agent knocks on her door, Lauren Burke can't get rid of her fast enough.
Lauren had inherited her home from the elderly woman she looked after, so there was no way she was just going to sell it. She'd barely moved in.
Lauren also knew Quinn Lawson's type.
They thought money solved everything.
Well, money wasn't going to convince Lauren to sell, no matter how high the offers got or how charming or sexy Quinn Lawson was.
But lines start to blur when business gets mixed with pleasure.
Can both of these women get what they want as their attraction grows and the chemistry between them becomes obvious?
This is a great age gap romance that immediately pulled me in. Likeable characters and two sexy leads had me turning the pages. Definitely worth a read. Kindle Unlimited.
I loved the chemistry between Quinn and Lauren. They are different but able to come together and complement each other. This makes for a more exciting read as, in reality, we should all feel blessed to find a partner that helps build up love and trust in each other in every aspect of our lives. I hope there is a continuation as I do feel that Lauren was not able to disclose her story regarding her connection with her parents. I feel she also needs that support from Quinn to help build up trust and love which would solidify her relationship with Quinn. Please consider a continuation of this story...
I really enjoyed this story. Two people meet in a rather different scenario. We're they meant to pass on the night of embark on a new adventure together? Only time will tell.
Quinn Lawson went into her family business of real estate agency. Her beloved father had a dream of moving into real estate development. Quinn is determined to make her father’s dream come true and has been buying all the properties in a quiet Brooklyn street. There is just one house owned by an elderly lady in her nineties, with no family, left. But Quinn’s plan go a little awry when the lady actually wills her house to Lauren Burke.
Enemies and age gap lovers, two of my favorites. Quinn is all about business, especially her dream project in Brooklyn. She's driven and won't let anything, or anyone stand in the way of her father's and her dream. Lauren is more of a dreamer. She's hard-working, and gives back where she can. An unlikely couple to say the least! When sparks fly all bets are off!
Short, when actually could have been longer, few loose ends and lots of "and you let that go..." Didn't ring true - but as it was free no complaints. Would be interesting to read one of her 'full novels' if she written one.... whoops! Read 3!! All 3 or 4 star!
I enjoyed the age gap story of 44 year old real estate developer Quinn, and 28 year old, chef Lauren, who just inherited the final property Quinn wanted to buy. From adversarial first encounters to learning the real reason for the purchase, Emma's pen turned ice queen Quinn into a person not only Lauren could begin to love, but the readers could begin to like. When they finally got together, their passion just sizzled!
As in all well written novellas, I just want more. We saw Lauren's friend Heather, but Quinn's "person," Finn, who was supposed to be like a brother to her, basically chauffeured her from one appointment to the next. I would have liked a bit more development in their relationship. All in all, it's a quick, enjoyable story!
A dream that started with Qinn's father that started when he came over from England, sets a daughter on the road to acquire the property needed for the development. Unfortunately for the daughter the last hold out is Lauren a young single chef who is stubborn as Quinn is in her pursuit. What follows are steps that lead to obtaining the dream and the realization that maybe the her path may have been a little rough in Quinn's pursuit. It takes Lauren making a selfish kind act to bring it home. Enjoy!
4 stars. I’m having a terrible health day so I’m not in the mood to write a review. Just know that this was a very good read. Super sexy and I loved the enemies to lovers relationship between Quinn and Lauren. There was some great tension between them and I thought they were both very headstrong and likable characters. Fun time.
Loved the storyline and the character build up. From hate to love, what could go wrong?! Steamy sex scenes of course, well written indeed, plus some angst and redemption, to a well made cocktail of a story, definitely made for a great must read package!
Would love to hear more from these two, maybe some short epilogue?
I loved this book. I loved the way they met whenQuinn wanted her house but in the end they found something better between them. They both got the happy ending they were looking for.
3 stars- kindle unlimited -super quick read -enjoyable, enemies to insta-lust -ended where most books insert the angst and resolve into a HEA -HFN ending
It was so great! Loved the characters, Lauren is such a warm person and Quinn much colder and in the beginning is so focused on her project and i could not see how this could be resolved between them but it did. Would have loved to see more of their relationship develope but it was a great read!!
This was a quick read but I enjoyed every minute of it. The relationship between the two MCs was fun to watch from not standing each other to wanting each other
I loved this story and I loved the chemistry between Quinn and Lauren. Quinn so used to getting what she wants in her real estate dealings and Lauren who is a chef and a soup kitchen volunteer with a heart. This relationship that started tensed and full of mistrust ends with love in each of their hearts. I love Emma Collins and her writing sucks you in. Great Job!
Exciting, sexy and intriguing, a business deal with a beautiful real estate shark used to get everything she wants, (Quinn), and a younger, stubborn chef, (Lauren). The story is sweet and romantic, and the characters are stunning , almost real. I loved it.
I actually loved Quinn and Lauren , their story was so different and such a roller coaster ride full of drama and feelings that made this reader fall in love with the characters. This whole storyline including the age gap that was just lightly touched upon was brilliantly written. This book is definitely not only worth reading but also worth adding to your library.
I didn’t know what to expect from this book. I don’t think I’ve read anything by the author but I def enjoyed this. It was sweet and sexy and I love seeing a workaholic fall for the free spirited woman.
Good story, good dialogue and very likable characters. I’m a sucker for a HEA. I have read other books by this author and she never fails to deliver an an enjoyable read.
Quinn is a high powered NYC real estate agent who is looking to become a developer. She intent on fulfilling her ailing father's dream to develop an apartment building in Brooklyn with views of the Manhattan skyline. All of the existing houses on the block have been purchased, except one. Lauren is a 28 year old chef whose attention and care of an elderly neighbor led her to inherit the neighbor's house when she passed. When Quinn approaches her to sell, Lauren resists and the two engage in a back and forth that gets complicated when their attraction increases.
This is a novella-length book that suffers from being so short. Lately, I've been reading books that were too long, but occasionally there's one like this that should have taken more time to develop the attraction and the complications of the relationship.
I adore them. At first Quinn just wanting to buy the house from Lauren no matter the cost. She was “cold” in her actions and I’m glad that the entire time Lauren knew what she was doing rather than being lead on or something similar to that. The date that wasn’t supposed to actually be a date was nice and seeing them go from disliking each other to building up a relationship was adorable to read. The pace was brilliant, it doesn’t feel like pure being rushed through the story and I loved seeing the relationship develop with all the obstacles and feelings thrown their way. Also I wanna hug Quinn bc her dad never got to hear about Brooklyn. And the letter he left her broke my heart. I love Quinn (and Lauren)

Quinn is a business woman on a mission: buy all the properties in order to start the Brooklyn Project. Lauren finds herself in the last home that Quinn needs to purchase. Can these two opposites find middle-ground? I was sad when it ended.
Spoilers
This was a romance with a long, erotic scene. There was a plot without holes.
This book could have easily touched further on the angst of trying to live up to a parent's expectation, being disowned, loss of a parent.
Nice setup for an interesting conflict. The mains have very different motivations in life making the path to a relationship a bit difficult; their mutual attraction makes the effort seem worthwhile. That said, some rather large differences are smoothed over very quickly. This is primarily handled through the application of more money. Their HEA, or at least HFN, seems too easily won.
