It was hot. It was quick. It was dirty. But what I thought would be another anonymous hookup with an older guy in New York City turned out to be… more.
I have to tell you exactly how it went down—every detail. I have to get it down somewhere, tell someone, or else I might lose my mind.
I didn’t have to think. I didn’t have to come up with anything to say.
All I had to do was feel.
And with the way he… did everything…
It made me feel… well, he finally made me feel again.
But can he handle the demons of my past when they come back to haunt us?
I couldnt put it down!!!! what a brilliant heart felt story of finding your soul mate. Poundcake was a great big hunk of a man that made Aarons knees shake. This was a hook up, plain and simple. No Names, no talking & NO SECOND meet ups. It was simply a hook up from an online app. But that evening made Aaron want to start to feel again and that scared him. He had just got out of a bad relationship where he was always made to feel less of a man. Aaron was an amazing man so gifted, playing violin for the a very young age. But even that wasn't good enough for James. But Poundcake made he feel special, wanted even cherished which is strange for a hook up. He wanted to feel used and needed to make the other man happy but it was the opposite. SO once there evening came to an end and it was obvious that Poundcake wanted to meet again Aaron shook his head and got dress and vanished into the night. Bruce couldnt forget the night he hooked up with that beautiful man. He had gone on and looked for him again but it was like he disappeared. Bruce had so much on his plate. He was the co owner of a bakery called hidden Gem. He always loved baking and now his dreams were coming true. So when his mystery man comes in for 6 coffees he is shocked but not as shocked as this hook up. who looked gorgeous when he blushes. Bruce trys to introduce him self but Aaron keeps tight lipped. Before Bruce knew it Aaron was out of his bakery and Bruce was quick to follow to see where he went. He just didnt want to lose this man, he wanted him again but would his hook up what him???? Could they be friends if not lovers? OMG I TOTALLY GOT LOST IN THEIR STORY. I WAS BLOWN AWAY. IT WAS SO PASSIONATE BUT ON THE OTHER HAND SUCH A SLOW BURNER. THIS BOOK IS ABOUT 2 MEN WHO HAVE A PAST THEY NEED TO OVERCOME. THERE CONVERSATIONS ARE SO HEART FELT BUT THEY ALSO HAD BANTER. BRUCE IS ANYONE DREAM MAN. HE IS JUST SO PERFECT AND JUST WHAT AARON NEEDED. BRUCE MADE HIM FEEL LIKE HE WAS JUST AMAZING. WHICH HE NEEDED AFTER ALL THE EMOTIONAL ABUSE HE WENT THROUGH. AND BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAW YOU WILL GO THROUGH EVERY EMOTION READ THEIR STORY JUST BRILLIANT. I AM SO EXCITED TO READ ANYTHING BY JEREMY JENKINS. I AM ADDICTED TO YOUR WORK!!!!!!!

Aaron got out of a toxic relationship and isn't ready to jump into anything serious. Quick hookups with no talking is all he needs. Talking had ruined his previous relationship. But there is something about meeting Poundcake that might change those parameters as he feels a real connection. He knew from the very first time together in the dark warehouse that there was something “more” here. There was an energy surrounding them. Although older, the man was in great physical shape, obviously working hard to get those muscles. And pressed against the wall by Poundcake’s hard body, he felt safe somehow. And oddly, the way he looked back at him actually made Aaron feel powerful – and he felt respected! With his eyes, Poundcake asked for each thing he wanted and he waited for permission. He made Aaron feel cared for – and that was a little scary. Poundcake looked at Aaron like he had worth!
Bruce had felt the same connection that shook Aaron up. Three weeks and he still couldn’t stop how he felt. He wants much more than that one night. Then Fate steps in to bring Aaron to the bakery, Hidden Gem where Bruce works, to pick up coffee. Bruce took off running after him and followed him until he caught up. And to his delight and relief, Aaron wanted to see him again too. It was a start, right?
Aaron and Bruce are still healing from previous relationships yet both seem to want to try again with each other to find that magical connection. If there is something there, don’t they owe it to themselves to explore it? They both might find what they need in each other.
This was a touching story but the reader can feel the pain mostly coming from Aaron. He has been terribly abused by someone and lost his sense of worthiness. If he and Bruce can begin a relationship, with Bruce’s gentle nudges and patient approach, this might be what can bring Aaron some confidence instead of him trying to punish himself with others who don’t care about him. Bruce will protect him and nurture him. I hope it lasts beyond the healing. They both deserve to find love.
Aaron - a music student who suffered at the hands of a dangerously demanding ex boyfriend who played on his insecurities. After the painful break up, Aaron succumbs to denial, refuses to heal his mind and heart, and decides to use a hook-up app to take his troubles away. Allowing himself to be physically used by others was a way of avoiding the inevitable.
Bruce aka Poundcake - is an older guy and a baker, who happens to be the latest hook - up. Bruce also has his share of emotional demons he's escaping and the missing mistake he almost made.
The two meet in what should have been a one time deal. The rules were, "No talking, no names, and no personal details." Both men broke the rules. Their fist time together and each of them knew this was completely different from any encounter. Neither wanted the moment to end and suddenly felt the spark that had been missing. Intimacy all too real for strangers. What will happen to them once the moment ends.
Weeks pass and neither can forget the other. Aaron appears at Bruce's bakery by chance and things develop from there. Aaron keeps telling himself he isn't ready to commit to anyone. he's tot much of a mess. Bruce is not willing to give up and will take all the time necessary to keep Aaron in his life. Their age gap became a minor issue. Each man knew what they needed and wanted from the other.
Will the two mid-westerners take the big city love presented to them or will they walk away from the best thing to ever happen?
Great character/real world building, tearful moments, rooting for them to work it out, and hoping they overcome their past. Yes, there is a wonderful HEA.
I highly recommend this book. Quickly became of one my favorite age gap love stories.

Aaron just got out of a bad relationship and he isn't looking for anything serious; just quick hook-ups to satisfy his needs. But then Aaron meets Poundcake and he's starting to question his desire of no-named hook-ups and no talking. Poundcake a.k.a Bruce also feels a connection with Aaron and three weeks after their hook-up cannot get the man out of his head, but how to get in touch with him again; especially since Bruce wants to be more than just a one night or two night stand. Lucky for Bruce, Aaron stumbles into his bakery, Hidden Gem one day and Bruce strikes a conversation because he's not willing to let Aaron slip through his fingers once again. However, Aaron is not ready for the kind of serious relationship Bruce is looking for and he is carrying a lot of baggage from his ex. Bruce has to decide if being friends with Aaron is worth having the man in his life, of if their too different to work.
I'm still not really sure what to make of this book, I thought that the writing itself was very well done and the story moved fluidly. However, it just was all too predictable. You could really expect everything that happened in this book, and that in-of-itself wasn't bad, there just wasn't fluffy romance to balance out this predictability. This novel takes on a more serious undertone because of Aaron's ex-boyfriend, he was a real manipulative person and as a result there is just a darker tone to this story when it comes to understanding the past that Aaron has to overcome. This is not your fluffy -fall in love romance, and it just really wasn't what I was looking for. I have to say it's not a bad book to read, but I'm also not going to recommend it per se.

This Jeremy Jenkins book did not disappoint. These two guys decided to hookup and discovered it was sooooo much more than casual. Their recognize their connection. Too many factors were going against them....mainly the age difference. Bruce the older man and Aaron the younger twink. Absolutely loved this story. I had so many emotions reading. Aaron really pulled on my heartstrings and Bruce was so sweet. Their love story was really special and by the end i was oooowing and awwwwing all over the place. That ending is what took the cake...so lovely....5STARS!!!!

I thought it will be an easy and quick read but I was wrong! It deeper than I thought.
Bruce is a gentleman, caring and sweet. Meanwhile, Aaron is a bitter 21 yo man with a broken past. His scar from the past runs deep in his soul. Bruce was patiently showered Aaron with his warmth, affections and kindness to make Aaron to open up to him. It took a while for Aaron to admit that he's worthy of being loved and be happy in his new relationship with Bruce.
This was a great romance story. I loved the storyline from the really bad old relationship ps to the Opposites attract . The characters Aaron and Bruce make a hard life into something special and I enjoyed there story so much. From there sweet photo moments to there trying new things together it was a great ride.
I wanted to like this more then I did. I lied both MC's and the plot but it just didn't feel like enough. The story felt a little rushed and not enough character building. Plus that one part where Jenny was in the park and Aaron was suspicious about it, didn't actually go any where...it was a weird and pointless part of the story.
Aaron is so damaged by his former lover. Emotionally abused and controlled I could feel his desperation to find comfort in anonymous hookups. Meeting Bruce has him feeling too much and his walls are so high that I wondered how Bruce would ever get through. Bruce amazed me with his patience. He lets Aaron call all the shots in their relationship. Hookup, friends, or more. He sees Aaron’s pain and does all he can to shield him from his creepy ex. I loved that it was Aaron opening up to Bruce as proof that he’s committed. My favorite part is Bruce bringing Aaron back to the bridge.
