A Killer Cut

Rate this book
In a small town in Ohio, hair salons are a plenty, and when you branch out on your own and create a very successful business, others may feel animosity. When other salons lose clients to that new venture, you may even gain enemies. One such client, a prominent lady in the community had left her old salon and stylist behind, to follow the new up and coming salon and spa, A Cut Above. She was a hard client to please and everyone thought she was a snobby uptight old lady, and no one wanted to deal with her. Chrissy Cramer, one of the owners of A Cut Above salon and spa, didn't mind her too much, and she was a good paying client. After the two had a major blow out in front of the whole salon, no one ever thought the outcome could result in death, but someone thought it deserved as much. Chrissy, now the prime suspect in her murder, knows she didn't do anything, but everything points back to her. Eva St.Claire, the salons Manager believes Chrissy, and she has an idea on just how to prove it. Her ideas may be a little unorthodox, and making the police believe her will be almost impossible, but with no other way to prove her boss's innocence, she digs up her past and delves deep into exactly what she ran away from over twenty years ago. Will she be able to prove Chrissy's innocence and not go completely back to that dark place she tried to leave behind, or will it all come crashing down, when the real killer is on to her. Eva and Chrissy are both being left threatening messages, to stop probing into Trudy's murder, but Eva has a few things up her sleeve that may help, but will it be too late, or will her past come back to bite her? Delve into this cozy mystery with a twist. Who knew salons could be so deadly. Read to find out just how jealousy, a mystical past and a little magic can turn everything upside down.

A Killer Cut is the story about Eva and her extraordinary powers. She's been able to witness a murder by using her witchcraft and uncover the killer or so she thinks. But she can't bring in the detective working the case because she doesn't have any real evidence other than how she saw it and then it would make her sound crazy. The only person who would believe her is her husband.
As they try and work together the bring the killer to justice nothing is at it seems. There are so many twists and turns in this deliciously written story, the reader will be thoroughly surprised until the last page.

When a demanding customer complains (loudly & obnoxiously) that her stylist is a minute late, you know she has sealed her fate and will be a victim! The question is, who murdered her? Or maybe the question is "what" ended her reign of complaints?

What a "keep you reading book"! I enjoyed all of the twists and turns as well as the paranormal aspects! The salon characters were "real" and we've all met folks like them. Eva, one of the salon owners, was intriguing and has a secret that you won't believe!

A perfect Halloween season read!

I received the book as a gift from the author. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.

A Fun Fantasy Escape

This book was a lively and fun fantasy escape for me. I used to be a cop in a town just like the one in this book. I highly recommend this book for all to read, and I look forward to reading more from this author.

An enjoyable read

Very good and fun read with some twists in introducing us to Eva. Very good detail with characters and the surrounding areas. not overly done. One you want to finish and hoping we will see another novel.

Needs editing

The grammar switches from present tense to past tense in the same sentence. Punctuation is a problem, with commas thrown in apparently at random. The transition from chapter to chapter, or even paragraph to paragraph, is uneven.

This book was mislabeled as a cozy mystery which most people define as a book with little or no offensive, crude language. This book was loaded with it and also dealt with dark, gory witchcraft. I found very little cozy about this book.
