After striking out on their own, Cade and his gorgeous companions have secured a degree of relative safety. Yet the world of Antinium remains rife with conflict, and their village will need to be defended.
Camp Casmeer is beginning to thrive. Satemi charges ahead with construction, Minda discovers new wonders of herbology, and Ketzal’s Occupation surpasses them all in practical combat.
Cade is faced with a slew of new challenges, and his allies must take the fight to the enemy or risk being overrun.
Despite the dangers, our heroes are destined to become the Champions of Last World.
Caution to Readers: Chimera King novels contain explicit adult content, unconventional / harem relationships, graphic and persistent violence, and a hero whose humor belongs most appropriately in a military barracks. Proceed at your own risk.
I am impressed with this book! I'm not going to say this book re-invents the genre because it doesn't. It's a solid, well-paced crunchy LitRPG harem. But it is effective in a way that I see so rarely in this genre.
The issue with a story built around a 'game' is that the mechanics can sometimes take center stage and drown out what makes a story interesting. You might love the mechanics but the characters are just pieces to move the book along. You might love the spells and abilities but the plot is just canvas to show off the combat.
Atlas Kane averts this with good ol' fashioned high-quality writing. At no point were the fairly crunchy LitRPG mechanics taking me out of the book because the characters were likable, they felt like real people. I was invested in the MC Cade's internal monologue and choices because he's relatable.
And I've said it before and I'll say it again. This book NAILS humor. it manages to touch into meta while still staying grounded an normal. There is no way around it the writing is just on a very high level. Weaving snappy dialogue while maintaining tension and intrigue is not easy but Atlas Kane makes it seem easy.
There is a lot more to say, but I think you better just see for yourself and pick this book up!
An excellent story that just gets better as it progresses along. The author sets a great pace and has travelling all over his excellent wee world taking on quests and battles with adult shenanigans thrown in to add some spice. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable romp.
Fantasy GameLit Harem Adult Situations The MC Cade and his band of trusty women are faced with new challenges, adding a fourth woman to his bed, and, well, if you're reading this and have read the first book, buy it. If you haven't read the first book, start there; it's a good story that combines the above elements in an absorbing tale. I enjoyed it. Recommended.
Timely, exciting and fun.Book two flowed effortlessly from book one and continued the page turning started in book one. Another edition of the village of Casmeer would be awesome
Just like this first book I both liked and hated this book. The plot and story arc is enough to keep me interested but there is parts/ writing style that bother me. I will keep reading the series because I do want to know what comes next.
I enjoyed reading this book. It had adventures, battles, and beautiful females. A nice combination of the three. It had a good story and good characters. I want to see what happens to the adventurers next.
I think this series had great potential to continue being great litrpg. It has good action, cool items that the characters interact with, and hot social scenes. Enjoy reading, I am downloading book three now.
This book took me a while to get through. The first 3-5 chapters were rough to get through for some reason but once I got through I flew through the rest of the book and finished in a manner of hours. Can’t wait for book 3
This is a great take on the reincarnation \Isakai story, the characters and world building are truly excellent! Really looking forward to the next installment!
Finally! Something in this segment that is so well written. It refrains from being gaudy but still tantalizes the reader. Love the character development
The second book to this series really tickled my fancy, something about starting over and building your own little village really appeals to me. This story progresses really well in the second installment and definitely will leave you longing for more.
