Llewelyn’s 2021 Magical Almanac: Practical Magic At first, I didn’t think there would be any articles for me to comment on in this one, but as I got toward the end I found a few. There are always good articles in this, but some just don’t leave an impression. And there are some that are so wordy and full of information that my head just doesn’t absorb, it just rejects it.
There was an article called “Seeking Hecate” that got my attention because while I’d heard of Hectate what I didn’t know was one of her specialties was guidance and that she could be seeked if you were at a crossroads. I don’t think I’m there just yet, but sometimes I do wonder what’s the next step. I haven’t even completed *this* step. But I do feel like I’m already in good hands. But this was just interesting to me.
In a article called “Color Magic” I learned something I didn’t know about the color gray. Some years back, I wanted to redecorate my room. It’s yellow. I wanted to repaint it gray. The person who wrote the article described it as “a clean slate” and it speaks of “something waiting to happen”. It’s a sign of not knowing what you want but needing something and waiting for a sign to appear. This spoke to me because I’ve often just wanted a sign to magically appear to show me what direction to take. Unconciously could it be that’s why I choose this color?
There was another called “Enjoying the Axis Mundi” that talked about the Watchtowers. I’d kind of heard of these from watching “The Craft” but this went a little more into depth. It also talked about the Three Realms-which I hadn’t heard of-. Then there was a REALLY great article called “The Only Love Spell You’ll Ever Need”. At first, I was thinking here we go, but I was wrong. It turned out to be a SELF love spell. Now *that* I can get with! There was also one titled “Vision Boards and Magic Spells” and there was a website mentioned called Live Spark that I looked at but just haven’t had the time to look at look into but it sounded interesting and I plan to look at it further. I’d like to make a vision board (maybe online).
Rating: 6 and a half. As always the articles were very informative and interesting to read!
I enjoy this publication, it's interesting to see the spread of topics that gets brought up each year. Each time, some essays resonate with me while others don't Sometimes I completely disagree. But all in all, this book is a great way to explore new authors and ideas.
