THE SEARCH FOR LOVE IS ON! A fey mood strikes Freya, sparking a new quest to find her Odr, the one destined to stand forever by her side. Naturally, her followers are against it. They remember all too well the disaster that her last adventure turned out to be. Unfortunately for them, such a minor setback has never been enough to stop the goddess of beauty from following wherever her heart leads-which, this time, happens to be the sandy dunes of Kaios. Freya is eager to spread her wings to see what discoveries this new land has to offer, even as her familia frantically searches for her, no matter the cost...!
The Freya Familia is the strongest group in the world. Their first-rate members are Hedin Selland, the Gulliver brothers, Allen Fromel, Ottar, and Hoguni Ragnar. These eight people are very strong, but they are no means friendly with each other—they always fiercely fight with each other. This is all because of Freya. The existence known as Freya is the most beautiful existence in the world. So, to receive Freya's love, they all compete with each other. As a result, an awkward mood develops. However, Freya doesn't care. As long as it kills time, she forgives everything. Then, to satisfy her desire for a shining soul, she freely searches for a soul companion. What are the final results of this search? Is the setting for this Familia all right? It all depends on Freya's desires.
This was a very great novel. Normally, we only see the Hestia Familia's activities and adventures, but the other Familia are left as a mystery—especially the Freya Familia. The series properly conveys their strength, but their inner workings are left unknown. To solve this mystery, this story was born. Freya and the other's personalities and pasts are gradually revealed. While it's not complete, it creates a good foundation for it. Personally, I have always been interested in the Freya Familia, so I enjoyed it a lot. If you are interested, please read it!
Mostly bland and boring story, sprinkled with a hand full of one dimensional character. The last quarter of the book are some shorts that are a tad bit batter than the main part of this side story. If I hadn't read a greatly enjoyed the previous 28 Volumes of the main and side stories I probably wouldn't have finished this one.
I am a huge fan of the Pick up girls in a Dungeon saga, I have read all the previous volumes in the series. So I am interested in the side stories about the other Families and side characters. I did enjoy Main story even if there was a lot more death, than I usually like, and it seemed a bit violent, and there was slavery used. But the main characters were interesting. Reading about Freya's main fighters and how they use their skills in the real world was good. The extra stories did add to the characters, especially to the characters from the tavern the adventurers go to, the Belevolent mistress. But it seemed odd to have those details in this novel, and not the previous famila saga. Freya's Famila seems to be a bit harsh, since a lot of their training is fighting each other to near death. Which is good practice for their fighters and healers. But there is no teamwork.
I’d actually give this book a 3.5 but since some parts were confusing to follow, I went with a 3. There were some interesting points in regards to character development but the war sections and the background of the two elves had me a little lost.
There were some interesting concepts though… especially at the end of the first story.
Loved reading into the lives of Freya Familia! Story was alright, wasn't a huge fan of the guest main character, but I definitely have a new appreciation for Freya and her followers. Omori knows how to write his characters!
Not bad, not great, the usual for a side story. It did draw me in, and I did like the characters more than expected. I like how the violence and sexuality was amped up quite a lot, no blows were softened in this one, which is unusual for the series but refreshing
Freya is one of my least favorite characters in this series, and I can't say that this book made me like her any more. But it did make her more understandable, and as always, Omori's mythology is on point.
I picked up the wrong volume in the wrong offshoot of a series of light novels (not even the manga) so I have no idea what's going on and for what reasons. I'll have to start at the beginning, clearly!
It's ok. I really didn't care at all about the first story in the volume about the desert prince and I wish we could have gotten more of the flashback stories.
This series as a whole is very engaging! The expansion on the Freya familia's inner working, and Freya as a character. The world is expanded exponentially, it is no longer just the dungeon town Orario to think about. She is a fickle character who wants what she wants and wont stop at anything for what she wants.
