Toby Glin’s life has been a struggle right from the start. Abandoned as a baby, he’s grown up in poverty, fighting for every scrap of comfort and battling his own feelings of inadequacy. So when he lands a job as a busboy at a charming café, he believes his fortunes may finally have begun to shift. But then he finds out that the café is owned by none other than Prince Valentin Izarius, the second husband of His Majesty King Ryu. Valentin is nothing like what he expected of a prince. His warm smile and welcoming demeanour draw Toby in, making him feel safe and valued in a way he never has before. But falling in love with his boss is a recipe for disaster. Valentin already has not one, but two soulmates, meaning there’s not even a sliver of hope that he’d be a match for Toby’s soul mark. But Toby doesn’t realise that Valentin knows a secret. From the very first moment they meet, Valentin recognises the soul mark on Toby’s wrist as a match to his own. And Toby is an omega – the perfect antidote to the rising tensions that govern the relationship between three headstrong alphas. Winning Toby’s trust seems an impossible task, despite Valentin and his husbands’ best efforts to make him feel welcome. Can they convince Toby to let his defences down and give them a chance to prove their love? Or will this final piece of their happy family slip through their fingers forever?

Great series ! Something about this finale didn't feel complete somehow. Toby had a pretty horrible life and as his story evolves one cant help but admire his grit and tenacity. I was anticipating that after meeting his father, more would happen down the track. It felt like an almost irrelevant meeting in the first place. And there was no mention of Omega heats which usually has a place in the omegaverse world. I thoroughly enjoyed the twists that happened in all three books, but this one was a little too short and had some gaps that left me wanting...

I thought with this being (potentially) the final book and them finding their omega, it would finish with a bang. But the story was honestly weak. Boy are these men bad at courting! How in the world did they let 3 years go by? It was honestly pointless for the author to even do a time jump because the alphas got nowhere with Toby. The relationship had zero depth, yet we're supposed to believe they were all madly in love with Toby. The whole time they just sat back and waited for Toby to come around. Toby had a shitty life and I hate how the author never gave him any closure.

Overall, I felt like Ryu and Kentario were the main couple while the other two were just there. Since Ryu and Kentario grew up together, they had a chance to fall in love. Their love story was somewhat developed but it was different and lacking for Val and Toby. I think the author tried to make up for it by giving them time to develop their newer relationships but we got zero plots as a result. Other than being soulmates, Val and Toby really had no reason to stick around.

"Conundrum" received THREE AND A HALF stars.

The arguing between the alphas seemed slightly out of place especially since it wasn’t really present in the first two books of the series.

The novel gained *stars* for these items:

* gained for: "The book caught my interest in the first five pages."

* gained for: "I thought about the book when I was forced to set it down and re-enter society."

1/2 * gained for: "There were no info dumps, poor writing, or copy edit mistakes that jerked me out of the story."

* gained for: "I was sad when the book ended. I wanted more!"

The novel failed to gain stars for this item:

NO STAR gained for: "That's it. I'm hooked on this author. I will automatically try anything she/he/they writes."

Missing pieces turned out to be such an amazing little series. I’m so glad I found it and I will definitely be checking out this author’s other stories.

I’m completely happy with the ending. I loved this series from page one of the first book to the final page of the last book.

Boy am I going to miss these characters.. I feel at a loss, knowing I’ve read all there is to read, even though the ending was just perfect, I am going to miss these characters soooo much! 😢

(if that was truly the ending..? I wouldn’t mind more books in this world! There are so many more things/places/people that could be explored!)

If I had to rate the whole series, I would give it a SOLID 5 stars.

Longest Courtship Ever

This was an excellent conclusion. There wasn't any dangerous stuff happening like in book 1 but there was plenty of angst. Toby was discovered to be the 4th in this royal marriage but he was a fish out of water. A lot of patience and communication was required to get him to realize that he was truly part of this marriage. The ending was the best you could hope for.

Awesome! We finally get the fourth soulmate. What a slow slow burn and angsty story this time. But I loved every minute. Great ending. Overall, a great series.

I loved this series! I picked it up on a whim and I'm so glad I did. Each book built upon each other so beautifully with well-fleshed out characters, charming love stories, great back stories and some seriously steamy scenes.
