At the verge of death, one girl sacrifices everything to accomplish her goal. Descending ever deeper into the artificial hell created by unknown forces, Clare will soon be separated from everyone she's trusted up to this point. Her light's starting to go out, and there's no backup battery this time. The more she learns of the world below, the more she realizes just how lucky she is to have gotten this far. She'll need more than luck to make the final dive down to the very bottom, however; as threats and impediments alike appear to pop up from every corner to stop her cold in her tracks. Above her are her comrades in this suicidal excursion, searching frantically to get to her and to keep her alive to see the mission through. All the while, things in the Everhold above are coming to a boiling point; perhaps their time has finally run out. This is the third book of Substation 7 - a beyond-shocking adventure of grit, wit, and human suffering liable to match the most desperate stories of survival you know. I wasn't overly impressed with the previous book in this collection, but this book (#3) was so much better!!! Readers get a better look into Everhold and why things are the way they are. This book tests the limits of personal beliefs and dares to ask the ultimate question - "Why?" Lots of action, endearing characters, and triumph over personal limitations are what you'll find in this book. I strongly recommend this one!
