Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a young prince who fell in love with the fairest maiden…
Four years ago, Jayden Williams did what he felt he had to do to chase his basketball dreams, leaving Paradise Cove and his high school best friend and love behind. Now, he’s back home, coming face-to-beer with the girl he never should have let go of.
Natalie Velas has spent the last four years in New York, nursing her wounded heart. When the death of her grandfather brings her back to Paradise Cove, she’s in over her head in figuring out her new path, only to have the very boy she never wanted to see again show up and act like he never broke her. On the court, Jayden is known for making some of the riskiest shots under pressure, and he’s determined to take the most precarious shot ever: winning back his princess. What he doesn’t expect is the tower of impenetrable walls Natalie’s built around her heart. Jayden’s made promises before. But they were just pretty words. Will Natalie’s prince be able to prove love comes twice upon a time?
Absolutely loved this book! When I received the ARC for the book I knew I was in for a treat. I was introduced to this series with the book Once Upon a Time, so it was delightful to read the second book in the series. Twice Upon a Time is a standalone novel but it has the same feels of the first book in the series. And I loved this story just as much as I had liked the first in the series. My favorite heroines are the feisty ones. And boy, feisty we get with Natalie, the main character of the story. As I read the story, many times I stepped back and laughed out loud thinking she did not just do that. And she did. She is brave, and kind and unpredictable. Now, the rest of this review will be dedicated to *sigh… to Jayden. Green eyes, caramel skin, pro-basketball player. Fanning self. I want to meet him. Please don’t tell my husband I’m drooling over basketball players. But it’s Jayden. And Jayden… Fanning self again. Anyway, these characters grabbed ahold of me. For a couple of days, I got to dwell on Paradise Cove. And I didn’t want to come back to reality. Some authors have that rare ability to carve a world that you want to live in. Well Santana Blair has that super power. (got confess that I feel a bit jealous). So is no wonder that she is quickly becoming one of my go to writers. I wont go to any details of the story because I don’t believe in spoiling the books I reveal. What I’ll say though is that the story and the writing of this book are pure magic. Five Dandelions Stars.
With every book of Santana's that I read I fall more and more in love with her writing and her characters! She never ceases to amaze me!! And this story was no exception. Jayden and Natalie, *sigh* their story was amazing!!! And now to get into it.
Obviously in most situations it's ideal to fall in love with your one just one time. Things don't always work out that way. But you know what? After reading Jayden and Natalie's story sometimes I believe those couples are lucky. No I never would want to be hurt or have anyone hurt. But the second time Natalie and Jayden fell in love? It was beautiful. It was sweet. It was sincere. It had some issues but it was what every love story needs and more. So no it's not always ideal to fall in love a second time but in some situations it can be just as beautiful as the first time. I loved it! That might sound weird but whatever. I'm just putting my heart down on this review. You'll see what I mean.
Now onto another weird topic but one I want to address. There's this magical fictional town I've always wanted to visit. Maybe you've heard of it, Tree Hill North Carolina. Now I want to add Paradise Cove to that same list!! Jayden and Natalie reminded me of Haley and Nathan and the town and just everything. Paradise Cove, I'd love to visit this town. Heck I think I'd like to move here!!
So the town, the people, the characters, the love story, and most of all Natalie and Jayden. Need I say more? This book is everything you want it to be and more. And a book that will steal your heart just like it did mine!! ❤️
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how we get to watch this family grow and more than that end up feeling like a part of the family. You've heard of the book boyfriend...well this series has given me a book family lol. Paradise Cove has become a vacation spot for me where I go visit loved ones. In this Paradise Cove story we get to visit our lovely Williams boys, now so much older than they were last time we "saw" them. We get to experience a much more mature love...one that has hurt already yet shows us that sometimes happiness can come around more than once in a lifetime. It doesn't only explore the rollercoaster love of a man and a woman. The highs where you feel nothing can break you and the devastating that you feel might kill you. But it also explores familial love. ****spoilers ahead skip if you haven't read**** ....ready???
ok....you've been warned....
That amazing love when you get a new family memver thru birth. Wether you become an auntie or a parent...that love that bursts out of you is also explored and it made me cry because I had so many feels!!!
****ok spoiler over***
As usual, Santana Blair made me laugh, love, hate, cry, happy cry...omg so many feels!! And now I have even more characters that are near and dear to my heart ❤

I had patiently waited for this book and was so excited when it finally arrived. I dove right in and was transported back to Paradise Cove, my favorite book destination. Santana Blair has a way with words that has me settled in for a long read on the beach. We once again get to see how much the family has changed and we are quickly reintroduced to the whole gang and their expanding families. What I once again really enjoy about Santana BLair is her ability to quickly develop the characters so you can truly get to understand them as relate to them as you move thru the story with them. There were plenty of tissues moments, throwing the book moments, and cheering out loud moments. If you enjoyed the first book, And She Called Him Romeo you will truly enjoy this 2nd installment and seeing what those Williams boys are up to.
