𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗮𝘄, 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗼.
Welcome to Katantia, the people of Katantia have nothing to hold back when things encircle the insights of their mindsets.

"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭."
"𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧."
Weston Wraith was an asshole with questionable manners and a little cocky at times but let's be honest he didn't take long enough to make me believe otherwise, the way he revealed he was so much more than a void was pleasant to witness. “𝐈’𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧. 𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞. 𝐈 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚.”

Mandy Rawlins, she was a too kindred soul for her own good but our girl faced it all with a bright face and even a braver heart.
“𝐈𝐟 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲, 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐨𝐰𝐧."

Another favourite of mine is Kamila Ruby Wraith, God forbid if I did not respect her character for most part of the book.
"𝐒𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐮𝐩" sometimes people do not have alternative escapes. She was both bold and beautifully broken. I felt her in my bones.

The character growth in the plot was reasonable, it didn't happen overnight if anything it was driven with so much emotions from all the sides that it just made more sense on the go.
Weston and Mandy had me hooked, they took their own time in every step together that's when you'll see their intimacy turning into a dealbreaker.
“𝐈’𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝, 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐑𝐚𝐰𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐬. 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲, 𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐠𝐨 𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐲𝐞-𝐟𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐦𝐞.”

This book is not for the faint of heart.
The book had major plot twists starting 30% into it and it never stopped. It was well written, univocal and a must try for people who live for reading books in one sitting.
The book met with my expectations, It was dark and the dark elements can really be triggering. If you aren't an open minded reader you might have some issues but eventually you will wrap yourself around it in the positive ways.
Trust your time in this book you wouldn't be disappointed and if we are alike, if twisted taboo things are your go to, you couldn't thank the author enough for coming up with this entire series.
Needless to say I couldn't wait to get my hands on Kamila Ruby Wraith's Book.

Holy moly!

Friends and dark romance lovers. This book was SO good!!

Arabella is a damn Genius. Honestly, this book rocked my world. Hands-down on my list of best rated of the year. The writing, the story, the characters, I don’t have anything bad to say about this book. Honestly. I loved everything about it. It was well thought out, easy to follow along, very easy to read and has genius world building. As Katantia being a fictional place and most of you know when I read books I love to visualize what’s going on in my head, I definitely did that with this book. It was easy for me to paint vivid pictures of everything that was happening whether it be good or bad. This book is by no means for the faint of heart and at some points had my stomach churning and not in the best way. It’s dark and forbidden and everything I love reading in dark romance. Do not give me a generic boring story, give me unrealistic, crazy, mind boggling situations and stories that love to push the limits. That’s exactly what the story is and it was an absolute treat to read this. If you are looking for something that will push your limits, is hella steamy, and will fuel the soul of all dark romance lovers 🖤 Solid debut from Arabella, I can’t wait to get a physical copy to add to my collection and to read everything else she has up her sleeves!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book has 3 D's. Oh no, get your minds out of the gutter! I meant :
DARK, DELICIOUS AND DIFFERENT.

What was difficult for me to grasp was the "different" aspect of this book, thus the 2 stars. That absolutely does not mean it's not for you so give it a try.
There are a lot of new kinks that Arabella introduced to the audience and even being very familiar to the bdsm scene, some things were new to me.
The book wasn't for me mainly cuz I wasn't able to connect with the characters (like I said, the world this book is set in is different). This led to a wavering intensity in certain scenes so it was a rolling wave for me. Some things made me excited while other made want to smack the characters over the heads.
The writing flowed though so kudos to the author for that❣️ An amazing effort in terms of a debut

I’ll start this review by saying that this book is not for the faint of heart. The author makes that clear from the start, and I think that’s something to keep in mind before proceeding.

Now that I got that out of the way, lovers of all things taboo, dark, and twisted, you’re going to absolutely love Exposed!

The world of Katantia lives up to its name—for everyone that doesn’t know Katantia, means abjection/degradation in Greek (or at least that’s the closest translation available).
As soon as you start reading, you’ll be immersed in a story that’s brimming with creativity and originality, with laws that will seriously make you question your moral compass. This book will ask a lot of you, and it’s important to leave your inhibitions behind before jumping into it. It tackles some serious subjects and shows us the darker side of life without glorifying anything.

Big props to the author for weaving such a mind-blowing story. Her world-building is amazing, and at times made my heart beat faster at all the action. You could feel the story pouring from the pages, and I really loved the two main characters.

Mandy, our heroine, had been through a lot, and I admired how she still maintained such a pure heart, that did end up becoming a tad bit darker by the end of the book, but honestly, that made it all the more fun for me.

Weston, our hero, was different from every other male in the story. While he certainly didn’t hold back and was a delicious alpha, he had such integrity and underneath it all a very big heart.

Very dark/taboo books are usually not my cup of tea, but hell did this book pull me in from the very first page. I am amazed at the originality of the story and how the author managed to seamlessly cram some very important messages along the paragraphs of this book. All the characters were very well fleshed out and made this story special in their own way. Oh, and I have such a big weakness for Kamilla, Weston's sister! One of my favorite characters ever and I already know her book will blow me away just as Exposed did!

And my god, this book was so freaking steamy!! If I could, I'd fill this review with little fire emojis!
This was a kickass debut from Arabella Black, and I am so so sooo excited to read the next book in the series!

I am honored to have received this ARC.

Mandy is 20rs old and decides to go to the country Kantantia, to visit her lost childhood friend. She quickly realises that her friend is no longer the little girl she use to know but a woman that has married into the royal family. She then meet Weston, the prince of Kantania, where he shows Mandy the world of Katantia. Nancy's world changes as she is confronted by the Katantian's love for sex and sexism. She discovers all the lies and corruption within the royal family and within her own...

Aghh!! I freaking loved this book! Arabella you are a GENIUS! Katantia is a fked up country but I loved it. The characters in this book, will definitely make you swear and curse them and some will leave you heartbroken.
This book will leave you speechless and asking so many questions! I definitely want to know more Weston and Mandy's relationship ❤

I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait for the next book!

I don't think this book was for me for several reasons.
I could see how this could be a good read, but it didn't hook me like I thought it was going to, honestly.

It was a bit confusing for me to follow because it had multiple POVs that would go back in forth in time. Usually when this happens in a book, it's over for me and I get annoyed.

"One week after.... One week before... 'insert character' age 16... 'insert character' age 17".

I gave up reading at 75% and then skipped to the end to see what the cliffhanger would be.

Dark, dirty, twisted to the MAX, Exposed will leave you enthralled with Katantia’s debauched world. Don’t read this book if you’re closed minded because you won’t like it, just don’t. BUT if you’re brave enough to actually separate fiction from reality then buy this book RIGHT NOW. If you are a true lover of dark, taboo romance you won’t be able to put this book down. Point blank.

Not only am I utterly addicted to Weston and Mandy, I’m addicted to the entire crew. Kamila, Aris, Valentina, the Cross and Rawlins families. Arabella has written a series in which you see many different point of views and though at times it felt a bit choppy in writing flow, it doesn’t detract from your intrigue with these characters. Once you really dive in you can’t stop.

This book highlights but doesn’t justify a type of taboo I normally DNF, I only have two subject lines I do that with this being one of them. But the way Arabella addresses the situation and the happenings behind it made it way easier to stomach and didn’t interfere with my love for the story.

Katantia really will hold you captive, once you finish Exposed you’ll be desperate to find out what comes next. What revenge plans will play out? Will justice be served? What kind of HEA lies ahead in a world like this? I have no clue but I damn sure want to find out.

I honestly don’t know how to write this review. I finished this book early this morning and my mind is blown. I always write my reviews on paper first (don’t ask me why), I’m trying to think back to the book and my head is a mess, so much happened.
The ending 😭 I need the next book now.!

I am someone who isn’t the biggest fan of taboo books. I sometimes find them very uncomfortable to read, this book had some of the most darkest taboos I’ve ever read and they didn’t bother me at all and I think that’s all down to the way it’s written and the story. Katantia is a different world and you truly feel that when read it.
This book is dark and it’s very twisted in parts.

This book is a 5 ⭐️ read for me There wasn’t anything I didn’t like, I absolutely loved everything.

This has to be one of the best books I’ve ever read.🖤 I am so happy there are two more books to come.

You wouldn’t know that this is Arabella’s first book that has been published. Her writing and attention to detail is incredible. I pictured everything and felt everything.
The hurt, the passion, the cruelest things someone can do to another I felt that.
The manipulation that a man can do to a woman on the worse level possible I felt it.

A little about the book.

Mandy is from Chicago, she’s grown up with a very powerful father. She’s engaged to be married and she wants to visit Katantia to invite her childhood friend to her wedding. Mandy also has another agenda to visiting the island where everything revolves around sex.

Katantia is a beautiful island founded by and run by the the Wraith family. King Adam and his children Kamila, Weston and Aris.
This book is broken up into Mandy’s, Kamila and Weston POV. You get to experience everything they are. Mandy’s father is connected to Adam, they have a unfinished business deal that needs completing so Adam agrees to the foreigner to visit his country.
Mandy has heard many rumours about the king, his children and the Island but whether there True or not she about to find out.

Exposed (Wraith Royals Duet 1) - Arabella Black

*** 4.5 Stars ***

I love how this book is unique, a different setting, in a crazy fucked up world.

I found the beginning a little hard to follow, trying to work out who was who, however as the story unfolded it all fell nicely into place.

Katantia is that beautiful dirty fantasy world that you'd love to take a week out to visit (well I would)!!

I loved the characters, especially Mandy and Kamilla, However whilst this book is dark and very taboo, I'm not too sure if the author has a fantastic way of making the darkness feel quite normal or if this book wasn't dark enough for me?

I'm excited for the next book, so many loose ends left open (excuse the pun)!

I received an ARC from the author in return for an honest review.
First up, this book is very taboo, so if you don’t like reading taboo I would suggest not reading it. It also contains sexual violence, incest and public sex. It is set in a fictional country called Katantia where King Aram rules. His children are Kamila, Aris and Weston. Mandy is a foreign visitor.
I did struggle to get in to the story, there are a lot of characters and understanding where and whom they belonged to, took me time. About half way through I found it easier. Some of the scenes made for uncomfortable reading but it didn’t put me off as I needed to find out reasons why things were as they were. As the story grew, I found so did the characters. Weston, Mandy and Kamila all had their own strengths and weaknesses. King Aram was just vile.
Without giving any of the story away, it’s pretty hard to write more, however, the end did have me wanting the next book now!

EXPOSED is on Kindle Unlimited!

This wasn't the first book I ever wrote (I used to write Diego Barrueco fanfiction *ROLLS EYES*), but it's the first one where I tried out a big concept and went out of my comfort zone. It got banned on Wattpad a couple of times like most of my work, even if it wasn't my raciest or most taboo book. It's changed ever since its Wattpad days. Katantia has been with me since 2017. Writing the Wraith Royals is a lot of fun, and I hope that I've done their Kingdom of Katantia justice. Thank you for reading!

Brace yourselves. If you are of drinking age, you might want to have a tasty bevvie at hand while you read this baby.

The author aptly warns her readers with a disclosure at the beginning of the book, so keep that in mind and be open to this fictitious world of sex and debauchery.

With that said and warnings issued, this book is unlike anything I’ve ever read. But if I’d have to compare it, I’d say It’s a mix between a sexual version of the Hunger Games and Elin North’s Men of the North series.

It’s DARK.

If you’re into dark romance and extremely taboo, then be prepared to have your mind blown. Arabella Black pushes the envelope when it comes to things like forbidden relationships and fictitious worlds where things aren’t always what they seem.

If you like reads from K. Webster then I definitely recommend this book. You will not be disappointed!

Well what an intriguing fckn world Arabella Black has created.

The blurb and warning lured me in and guys, I wasn't even prepared for what I stumbled across.

If you're one for women's rights then id suggest not picking this one up. The women are basically "holes" for the men and are treated as such.

They live in "Katantia" which is a sexual haven of sorts, they have their own rules, anything fucking goes here and I mean anything. I can't remember the last book I picked up where there was Glory hole action but I got it at the beginning of this one 🤣

The story kept me interested, I just wanted to see what I would stumble upon next. It ends with a cliffhanger, not one so bad that you will destroy your kindle but one never the less.

This is a taboo book and should be treated as such, only read if you are open to anything

I'm so sad to say I didn't connect with this book as well as I had hoped, I found parts didn't flow as well as expected and combined it made the story a little difficult to follow.

Whilst I absolutely loved the timeline, the family tree and MOST of the characters, I need to be able to connect with the MCs and unfortunately that didn't happen so I didn't enjoy the book as much as I had hoped.

Arabella had a great story to tell, and for her debut..this story has amazing potential given it has more detail and is more relatable! Thanks!

Freaking hot, dirty and wrong in the best way!!! The author added a note for a reason, please do not ignore it!!!!!!
description

𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗗 is a dark romance with an extreme taboo situation that is 𝐧𝐨𝐭 glorified. There is cheating. Katantia is a fictional island and its residents are very extra. Ends in a cliffhanger. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

This book is very original, and there are a lot of hot scenes like a lot, Katantia is basically a sex island, so expect a lot of sex, and sex related stuff. I've never read anything like it, I'll be honest I'm still feeling guilty for enjoying this book too much, maybe something is wrong with me, who knows IDGAF.
Besides all the smut, the story line and the setting were great, so many times I was left speechless, and the end OMGF, can we get the next book NOW!! The book was so well written, and entertaining I had to stay all night awake to finished it.

description
I loved the diversity in the characters, and to finally read a book with a curvy, not so perfect heroine, representation matters, its fun and amazing to read about someone who looks like you, I loved Mandy she was so innocent, good, and true to herself. Prince Weston he's not your typical prince charming, he's cold in the outside, but inside he is a good man with good intentions and a big heart.

If you enjoy dark, taboo and steamy stories Exposed is perfect for you, remember to keep an open mind.

Welcome to Katantia.

A fucked up royal family ruling a country of sex. A foreign visitor.
And a wedding that's guaranteed to leave you speechless.

Mandy
He's not my fiancé.
He's a prince in an infamous country of sex.
He's hiding something.
I could list a million reasons why I shouldn't have noticed Weston Wraith.
None of them would help.
I'm his pretty little whore now.
And there's no turning back.

Weston
She's shy.
She does as told.
She's become the scandalous Kamila Ruby's best friend.
We're both engaged to be married, but I don't give a fuck.
She's the new girl, and I'm the Prince of Katantia.
I have secrets to expose.
Hers is number one on my list.

So I knew the author from when she was on Wattpad. Safe to say that the story has developed A WHOLE FUCKING LOT. I found the changes entertaining but also sad. She made the story more appropriate which takes away it's banality and craziness SMH. BUT IT STILL IS CRAZY AS FUCK, so no worries there. What I always appreciated about this story was KAMILA RUBY WRAITH. That woman is one of a kind, and she deserves all her flowers. Aram remains one of my favorite unapologetic bad guys who will hopefully get exactly what he deserves. My issues with the story are the same as back when it was on Wattpad: Mandy. I found it difficult to connect with her although I must say that in the final book version her chemistry with Weston is much more believable. I hope that my issues with Mandy are resolved in the next book. At times, she seems boring and like a pushover. From the old book to now, Weston Wraith has become the H I've always wanted him to be. He's hot AF, and he's got a heart of gold that he doesn't show just about anyone. The family dynamics in the Wraith family are insane, but also very tight-knit.

This story is meant for people over the age of 18. It's taboo. It pushes limits. It has cheating (but it's a strange way of cheating !?!?! Smh I don't really think that counts)

I can honestly say I have not read anything like this before and I wasn't sure to begin with if I liked it or not....it was just so unique and a little harder to get my head around things because it's set in a fictional world.
The story and the characters did grow on me the more the plot progressed. The story itself is dark and very taboo with some really vile male characters, so be warned this won't be everyone's cup of tea!!
Personally i cant wait to read more from this dark and twisted world!!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

ending had me shook.
Mandy& Westonn were sexy together! Mandy is shy and very relatable. Weston isn't really a bad guy, but he isn't so good either. He tries! Kamilla was nice, but I liked Mandy's story more. What Kamilla went through was really hard to read. That part is very dark
I need the second book now

Oh and Aris was hooooot. He and Valentina are weird but.... I'm kinda jealous of their relationship!?!??!?!??

Wow ! Listen up if you are a dark romance lover and are into extreme taboo than you need to read this !!! Wow I’m still speechless and don’t think I can come up with any words that will do this book justice. I finished this book days ago and I’m still left reeling. This author definitely pushes the envelope with forbidden relationships if your looking for something that will push your limits and is extremely steamy I’m talking scorching than give this book a try it gives life to my dark little heart ! Please heed the trigger warning because this book is dark with extremely outrageous situations and definitely pushes your limits but it’s oh so good hands down one of the best dark taboo romances I’ve read ! Congratulations Arabella on your debut ! I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

If you want a book that challenges social mores, then this is the book for you!

Katantia is the place where everything goes (literally). This is a dark read, so it is not for the faint of heart!
Without giving too much away, all I can say is that this book will push your boundaries to the extreme and make you consider scenarios that are otherwise taboo.

Also, can I just say how nice Wes is? He is from such a depraved place, and while he does conform to its messed-up standards, he's a softie underneath.

Kamilla was my favorite character, and I can't wait to read more about her, especially with what happens at the end!!! (which you'll have to read to see)

2.5: For a newer author, there is a lot of promise here in terms creativity- some compelling and interesting world building, a sprawling cast of characters, and a twisted ideology that has the kind of allegorical underpinnings of a Hand's Made Tale type story in terms of its use of gender dynamics. The bones here are really solid. But, unfortunately, the story itself didn't deliver on the promise.

I didn't have any issue with the taboo in concept0 though this kind of book is not for everyone. There's incest, cheating, government sanctioned prostitution and sexual violence and rape. I have read stories that dark, so unlike some others, it wasn't the dark or taboo that didn't work for me.

To me, it really came down to the characters and how the taboo was used. We had so many characters that for a while I wasn't really sure who our "couple" was- which is in interesting concept but kept me from really connecting with anyone. We have many POVs and flip back and forth between different sub stories quite a bit. The only character I connected with ended up being somewhat secondary, though it seems the second book is focused on her experience. And, the taboo isn't used to really titillate or challenge our perceptions in any way- its more for shock and horror. Again, I've read stories like that before. But at the end of it all, the romance itself just fell flat- I didn't really feel any chemistry, and the sex scenes that aren't meant to horrify weren't particularly sexy or interesting. I lost interest in the characters at the this books center and found myself a bit indifferent to them overall. And, with the writing feeling a bit disjointed in some places, this just wasn't the read for me.

Fans of the very dark and twisted will definitely find this interesting- and it may be a great read for other taboo, dark romance lovers- just wasn't for me.

All sorts of messed up

Please be warned this book is not for the faint of heart. I am still left feeling all sorts of different ways about this book, which is good in a thought-provoking kind of way. The author definitely achieved that.

Let me tell you that the characters in this book seriously need some therapy. The society of the fictitious island the they live on, first needs to be reformed and then some serious therapy. In a place where men think of woman as owned and as objects to be used how, when, and purely for the men's pleasure; girls are taught their place is to please and obey their owner as he sees fight, it's just disgusting. What's more, I thought I may have missed something crucial in the story but no I didn't -- there truly is some nasty incest going in the royal family.

** Spoiler ** The King has been talking his daughter for years and everyone is okay with it (or at least turns a blind eye). What's more when she can't take anymore, she decides to marry her brother to keep herself away from her father. WTF!?!

Totally crazy plot. It's like a naked-orgy trainwreck. You can't help but watch and see people in up in situations/positions that shouldn't be possible otherwise. It boggles your mind. I honestly couldn't believe what I was reading, but at the same time I couldn't stop. I guess the deviant in me had to see it through.
